We just love love love Colombiao do Momo. It is the 2nd time we have stayed here (and other family have stayed here as well). The house is beautiful and also very comfortable. It's perfect for a family holiday. The new addition of the pool was fabulous. We love the little village of Montisi. I am sure we will be back for another stay. Thank you Momo !

Ideal setting for day trips to Siena, Pienza, Montipulciano, etc. Fully equipped kitchen for practicing what you learned in cooking classes. A hidden gem outside a small town that gives you a peek at day-to-day life in the country. Gorgeous setting among the olive trees with views of Mount Amiata. Knowledgeable host who goes out of his way to make you feel you are the most important visitor ever. Have been visiting since 1996 and each visit is better than the last!

Stayed for a week with friends and family in mid-May, six of us in total. Beautiful private location on a south facing hill, looking over gorgeous landscape. The house is big and airy, simple and rustic, but with everything you need. Well-equipped kitchen, big bedrooms with plenty of privacy. No TV, good WiFi. Surrounded by beautiful gardens brilliantly maintained by Momo, who is the perfect host. Lots of places to eat outside, watch the sunset and generally chill. Small pool which is great for cooling off. Birds, flowers, olives, stars, magic.

The house and grounds are very nice. The character of the old farmhouse is kept and combined with just enough modernization to make it perfect. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The bathrooms are modernized with nice fixtures. Plenty of outside sitting and gathering areas. Michael was a pleasure to deal with. Montisi is a small town, but very nice. Perhaps the most picturesque we saw in all of Tuscany. The locals were very kind. We didn't experience the tourist crowds there that we saw in other towns in the area. We were very pleased with our choice of this house.

It really feels like you are staying at a friend’s house rather than a rented villa. Perfectly located for visiting the major Tuscan towns but situated in a real village with few other tourists, easily reached by a stroll through the olive groves. The house is beautiful; Michael has furnished it with an incredible collection of items from around the world which all complement each other and the house. The kitchen is extremely well equipped; with our love of cooking, this was one of our favourite rooms. We loved the garden and enjoyed having different areas to sit in and enjoy the peace and the amazing views throughout the day. It was hot during our stay but the shutters kept the heat out and it was a joy to come back to the cool villa and pool after outings. We are planning our return visit! Thank you Michael for a great holiday and for being a wonderful and welcoming host.

We had an amazing time at Michael’s house in Montisi. The house itself is a well preserved traditional farmhouse with a very well stocked kitchen, which we really appreciated. The town of Montisi has a shop a bar and a few restaurant is a short 10 minute walk away (on private or small roads), which was easy with the 3 toddlers we brought. Michael was a thoughtful and attentive host, and provided us with contacts for a babysitter and a chef for a few nights our stay (would recommend!). He knows a lot about the local area and was happy to assist with recommendations. The area is unbelievably beautiful, and the house is situated on a ridge with amazing views of the sunsets over the Tuscan hills. We were close to a few wine making areas, other picturesque towns, and fantastic restaurants (especially Il Conte Matto). Overall the stay was wonderful and I would highly recommend!

Though there were only two of us, the stunning photos, Tuscan location and consistently enamored reviews of this property convinced us to plan a 2 week stay at this large, beautiful home right outside Montisi. We were able to enjoy two perfect weeks in Tuscany because of the great proximity to the tourist highlights but more importantly because of the atmosphere afforded by this amazing villa and it's gardens and countryside location near the small, authentic and untouristed hill town of Montisi. Michael was such a warm and welcoming host who we felt would be a dear friend if only we lived in close proximity to each other. He was always quick to answer any of our inquiries and genuinely loved this home and its neighboring lands where he had enjoyed many years with his family. Communication was simple because English is Michael's first language though he is fluent in Italian and several other languages. It was a very special treat for us to have full access to a wonderful garden full of amazing produce. We can't wait to return!

Great base to explore beautiful Tuscan hilltop villages. Montisi itself is a very interesting village with a festival in August and many activities. The house also has 3 separate outdoor dining areas and breathtaking views of Tuscan landscapes.

Our stay in Colombiao was a Tuscan delight. This old farmhouse from the 17th century has been lovingly cared for by the current owners. Still true to its Tuscan roots, the house retains its farmhouse charm while maintaining a level of rustic comfort. Kitchen is on one level, dining and living on another, bedrooms on another. No AC, so if staying during hot months, pack light. We were there in early June 2022, temps were unusually hot, in the upper 90s. Mornings and evenings were comfortable, nights were warm, but bedroom fans kept the air moving. Closing shutters and leaving the house to travel around Tuscany during the day made it manageable, and we made good use of the three outdoor terraces. Cooking was kept to a minimum, but the kitchen is very well stocked with sharp knives, plentiful cookware and utensils, and we enjoyed fresh veggies from the garden. The host, Momo, is exceptional. He was extremely helpful in directing our party to restaurants and small wineries to visit in the area. In addition to Montisi, we took day trips to Siena, Montepulciano, Montefollonico, Montalcino, Gaiole in Chianti, and Trequanda. . . . Momo sent us to a great butcher in Trequanda, Marcelleria Ricci, and we enjoyed very good dinners at the local Montisi Ristorante Ritorno di Fiamma. Montisi was a great find, and Colombiao was a Tuscan treat. Would love to visit again in the Fall!!
