The River Farmhouse is a fully renovated 5 bedroom Victorian house on the Moira River 20 minutes from Prince Edward County with a hobby vegetable and cut flower farm. The house combined with the magical river, forest and gardens make it the perfect spot for relaxation and connection!

The house is very spacious which allows for large families, groups of friends or couples to have great hang outs. Feast around the 14 feet harvest table (or outdoor on the picnic table), watch movies on the projector on the comfy L couch, play boardgames outdoors in the screened in porch or read a book in the lounge.

Being a Chef, I've made sure the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need: 1 electric oven, 1 gas oven with a 4 burner top and a griddle, dishwasher, Vitamix blender, Kitchenaid mixer, Robot Coupe, microwave and so many cooking tools and dishes and a BBQ just outside the kitchen door with view on the vegetable garden!

The whole house has AC and each room has a ceiling fan as well.

We stayed with 6 adults and 4 children under 6. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep and spend time together. The house has amazing country charm and we loved that we could all eat together at the large dining table. The hosts were very communicative.

I celebrated my 60th Birthday with a number of my wonderful friends this week. The Farmhouse provided the perfect location for us to gather, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. I am extremely pleased with my selection of accommodation choice - a wonderfully eclectic experience!

Bertrand and his family have a created an amazing cozy family vacation home that somehow still manages to feel spacious. Every detail was clearly planned with love. The property is stunning, overlooking a beautiful river. While it was too windy to have a fire during our stay we still enjoyed the wraparound porch as well as the screened in portion. The projector in the living room was a lovely touch. Everyone could enjoy a movie night together. Bathrooms were very functional and stylish. Filled to the brim with all the towels a group as large as ours would need. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. A foodies dream. Bedrooms were beautiful and comfy. Honestly nothing bad to say. We hope to stay there again soon.

Twelve of us from three generations gathered for a weekend to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday, and had a great time! The house was cozy and perfectly suited such a large group - the large living room, snug, and upstairs sitting area gave us options for activities and hanging out, and the bedrooms were all very comfortable and decorated to exactly my taste ;). The kitchen was extremely well-appointed (we cooked all our meals, and some of them were rather complicated - there was even a cheesecake, baked in the gas oven) and being able to eat all together at a 12-person dining room table felt luxurious and festive. The two full bathrooms are crisp and new and were quite sufficient, even for such a large group. At first we were a bit worried about the stairs (one of the staircases seemed a bit steep) but everyone was fine, including the 80-year-old and the 6-year-old twins. We enjoyed the fire pit in the yard and a few yellow pear tomatoes from the garden. We were sad to be unable to add eggplants to our meal plan, as there were plenty of ripe ones hanging ready. The garden was just delightful! And one of my cousins noticed many indigenous plant species around the property, and wondered whether they'd been added intentionally. The house feels like a home - Bertrand has done a wonderful job furnishing and decorating. He was also very communicative and easy to reach when I had any questions. We would love to return!
