The Greater St. Louis Metro area is home to more than 3,000,000 people making it the largest metro area in all of Missouri. St. Louis was founded in 1764 and incorporated in 1822. The United States Census Bureau indicates that St. Louis is a total of 66 square miles and approximately 4 miles of that is made up of water.
