Belleville is located in St. Clair County Illinois. The French meaning of Belleville (Belle Ville) is “Beautiful City.” According to a 2015 Census Bureau report, the population here at that time was just over 42,000. A Santa Claus Parade in November, a Gingerbread Walk in December and something called “Christkindlmarkt” which starts the day after Thanksgiving and goes until the day before Christmas Eve. During the summer there is a Memorial Day Parade as well as the “Tour de Belleville” which takes place here in July. The events and festivals are reason enough to move here to Belleville!
