Apartment
Carriage House Studio Downtown One of a Kind
Provo, Utah, United States
Bright, rich and comfortable fully equipped studio in a rustic carriage house of the 140 year old Pioneer home in downtown Provo. Character like no other places around. A unique and historic property. Lush garden and yard are a tranquil setting for our home. Easy walking access to downtown Provo. 2 minutes to I-15. The perfect stay.brThe spacebrIts an all in one apartment, although small, it has all you need, in the quiet comfort of a private residence just off of the main road. The place is unique due to the 140 year history of the main home of the property. The main house is a pioneer home originally built by the settlers in this area - it has stood the test of time built well before even the Provo Tabernacle. This studio is newly renovated with all the modern conveniences and a fresh look to help you relax in your home away from home. The second story space lets you look out into the trees of our yard, and catch a glimpse of the mountains around us.brGuest accessbrIf you need access to our laundry facility, just ask.brOther things to notebrLocal Places to see and eat:brHere's some information about places I recommend and love to visit.brbrRunning/Walking/Biking:brSlate Canyon Bonneville Shoreline Trail....some of the best views of the valley and amazing sunsets. The trail leads north and connects with the big Y trail. You drive about 7 minutes from my house to get to Slate Canyon.brbrProvo River/Canyon Trail....runs all the way from Utah Lake through Provo, up the canyon to Vivian Park. Bridal Veil falls is along this trail, and if you drive up Provo Canyon you can't miss the falls. My favorite section for running/biking is the canyon portion of it -stating at the mouth of the canyon and ending at Vivian Park. About a 10-15 minute drive from my house to the canyon.brbrSundance:brCalling it a resort is correct but its not like the big commercialized places in SLC/Park City. I love this place. Its quiet. Quaint. Gorgeous. Lots to do. Amazing food. I love to ski and mountain bike here. The scenic lift rides are also great! The views of Mt. Timpanogos are amazing and its a relaxing ride. Its probably a 20-30 minute drive from my house to Sundance. But a gorgeous drive.brbrHomestead Crater in Heber/Midway. Its a natural hot spring inside a cave. Super fun. $10 to soak in the water for 30-60 minutes I think. Its worth it. Its unique. If you've never been - I'd recommend trying it. You have to call ahead and book a time slot.brbrFood in Provo:brGurus (great tasting reasonably priced food. I like the salads and sweet potato fries)brStation 22 (tons of different sodas, their chicken and waffles used to be my favorite)brHruskas Kolaches (great for breakfast....get there early)brTaste (they have a simple menu....but its all super delicious....especially their fresh baked cookies). This is my new favorite spot in Provo. Its not a true restaurant...more of a cafe. European style. Minus the outdoor seating.brMozz Pizza (their crust is sourdough and soooo good)brCommunal (higher end amazing food)brThe Foundry Grille @ Sundance (the food and atmosphere are both top notch, definitely my special occasion place to go)brbr....those are just a few.brbrIf you have time:brGo down south to Moab and other parts of southern Utah. Its out of this world. Once in a lifetime type of place to visit. Unique. Gorgeous. Peaceful. Adventurous. Adrenaline. Its got so much to see and do.brMoab's getting a bit touristy - but although the town has grown the surrounding landscape has stayed the same which is why you go.
