Private Vacation Home
Luxurious, Peaceful, Modern Spa-Inspired Retreat Just 12 Minutes to Asheville
Leicester, North Carolina, United States
Open flowing floor-plans and wide light-filled windows look out onto mossy stone work, sun dappled old growth hardwoods, shaded decks, and a waterfall pond. We really love this place, and think it's a true Asheville gem, drawing inspiration from some of our favorite local upscale destinations – the Grove Park Inn and Shoji Resort/Spa. In the spirit of those destinations and Japanese mountain retreats, this is a place for you to unwind in peace, comfort, and a healthy dose of luxury.brbrLounge on the comfy leather couch (and the ridiculously soft LoveSac) watching movies or listening to music on the home theater. Dine together by sweeping casement windows looking out over sun shaded decks and the waterfall pond. Relax on the back deck, grilling, playing in the hot tub, roasting marshmallows over the fire, or just breathing in the cool mountain forest air with a tasty beverage in hand.brbrSleep in three bedrooms, each lovingly made up so you feel like you just checked into a luxury resort. The first two have queens, one a little firmer, the other a little softer, to cater to your preferences (both are delicious for sleeping). The master bedroom has a beautiful and luxurious king bed to stretch out on. We believe there are few things as important as a good night’s sleep, especially on vacation.brbrPamper yourself in our two gorgeously tiled bathrooms. We really love them both. The tile work is luxurious. The white towels are so soft. Nick designed the master bathroom to be dramatic and soulful, with dark gray contrasting tile, chrome fixtures, aged wood accents, and bright white decor. Sarah designed the shared bathroom to be soft and warm, with taupe undertones and pinkish hues and plush linens. They are made for pampering!brbrThe kitchen is big and open and full of light. In true open concept fashion, you can happily partake in all the house’s goings on from your quartz countertop, chatting with friends in the living room, or watching tv and listening to music, while you prep that yummy meal or snack. Drawers and cupboards are fully stocked with high quality kitchenware and utensils and appliances. It has anything you could want to cook or drink with, and to feel in style doing it.brbrIn the living room we have a very nice home theater setup, with 64” Ultra HDTV and surround sound. For media with have lots of great subscriptions for you to enjoy – Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Showtime, and a premium Cable TV hookup. Internet is blistering fast cable (100+ mb/s download and 10+mb/s upload) and completely consistent.brbrThere’s a gas stove in the great room if you’d like to enjoy a fire. Central heat and AC keep the temperature very well regulated. Lots of parking for your cars. There are some other mobile homes on our road, but the property is 1.5 acres and very secluded. For most of the year, when the leaves are in, you can’t even see any other houses except a couple along the driveway.brbrEverything is washable and stain resistant. Relax and enjoy!brbrFor extra guests, or children, we have a blow-up queen mattress. Also, the living room ottoman is surprisingly large and comfy, and when put next to the couch actually makes a pretty nice bed (we’ve tried it, when Nick injured his back that was the only spot he felt comfortable sleeping for a whole week)! With these provided options the house can comfortably sleep up to 9 adults. For parties larger than that please contact us, we can be flexible.brbrThe road here comes through a nice sampling of Western North Carolina landscape, with rolling hills and hollers, forested mountains, small farms, houses and mobile homes. It’s rural country through and through. The folks around here are friendly and welcoming for the most part (and in general more-so than many places we’ve been).brbrThis little Asheville retreat is a really special blend of old world rusticism and new modern openness. It’s beautiful, functional, and centered around the natural beauty of our Western North Carolina landscape. We hope you love it as much as we do! brbrA note on Weather Events - please be aware that our area gets snow and ice from time to time. About once a year its enough that the roads become undrivable, and every couple years the power goes out. If power went out the house would have heat, but no running water or lights. Also, it seems hurricanes have been increasing in recent years. Sometimes they affect our area as tropical storms, and hurricanes may pose issues for those travelling from coastal areas. We do not offer refunds outside our normal cancellation policy for weather related events unless local evacuations are mandated or local travel prohibited. This is simply because the weather, and folk's comfort dealing with it, is so variable. We Highly recommend purchasing vacation insurance that will cover weather related cancellations if this is a concern, especially during snow and hurricane season. If any of this is a concern for you, please let us know ahead of booking and we can answer any questions.
