Two Adirondack cabins with mountain views and river access
North Hudson, New York, United States
The views from our property are why we love this place. We offer TWO CABINS for up to to eight people on a park-like three acres overlooking a wild river with stunning mountain views. Guests who want to get closer to the water can access the river by a stairway built into the hill at the back of the property. Our cabins are built in the spirit of traditional Adirondack camps, it's about getting a feel for the outdoors, the air, the forest, the spaciousness of the Adirondack Park, sun, rain, mist, bugs and all. Our cabins are intentionally simple and compact by design, but comfortable and cozy. The property is located in a mixed use area of vacation and year round homes. The larger of our two cabins is about 900 square feet with a queen bed and a futon couch on the second level, and a double bed with a simple privacy curtain on the ground level. A futon couch which converts to a bed is in the living room to provide a fourth sleeping area if needed, The main cabin has a compact but well equipped kitchen. Kitchen amenities include an electric stove, microwave, toaster, fridge, pots, pans, utensils, dishes and glasses, etc. (we like to cook). A compact washer and drier is available for guests. There is WiFi internet, a smallish TV, books, DVDs, and games. Outside enough room to throw a football or play a lawn game. A wood stove is in the living room, and lots of firewood in the wood shed. The second smaller cabin is 400 square feet in total with one queen bed and an "Ikea" single pull out bed if needed. Both cabins have bathrooms with toilet, sink and shower. Both cabins have kitchens, but the small cabin kitchen is very basic, sink: sink, hot plate, toaster oven and small fridge. The location here is well situated as a base camp for all things Adirondack, hiking, swimming boating, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, etc. High Peaks trails begin in Keene Valley, a short drive to the north. The Village of Schroon Lake is a short drive south, they have a great public beach, or just stay put, cook a meal and enjoy the grounds and river. The property is located on a level, paved and maintained town road with other vacation and year round homes. The driveway on is long, flat and plowed in winter. This is a year round camp, but In many ways spring and winter are our favorite time to be here, in cold weather the river looks different every single day. And on a clear night, any time of the year, you can look up and see the milky way.br
