Buy the freshest produce at any of our numerous farm markets along the way, and join the fun of going through Corn Mazes and carving pumpkins with the kiddos. Toast some marshmellows and sip some cider around a cozy bonfire before getting the best night of sleep you've had in a long time! Close to boutique shopping in both Traverse City and Elk Rapids, beaches, golf courses, wineries, restaurants, casino and parks, but nestled in a peaceful, rural area surrounded by horse farms and orchards.brbrThe spacebrThis historic farm house can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people with 3 bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms. There is a fully equipped, spacious kitchen and dinning area with breakfast nook open to a cozy living room with a large smart TV and satellite channels, WI-FI and air-conditioning. Outside you can enjoy spectacular views from the private balcony that is accessible by exterior stairs or from the master bedroom, or use the gas grill to dine out on the deck. Enjoy the morning with a hot cup of coffee on the quiet front porch surrounded by flowers and a huge variety of birds taking turns at the feeders. Your dogs will appreciate the fenced in back yard to run around free from a leash. Scenic views stretch in every direction and there is a large bon fire pit with plenty of wood for family fun and story-telling around a campfire.brbrThe home is located on a private working farm and you are invited to say hello to the horses, barn cats and chickens. It is our pleasure to share our fresh garden produce with guests and we invite you to pick the fruit and berries when in season. We live just a few miles away, but are on location several times a day to take care of the farm. We love the Traverse City and Elk Rapids areas and can make some great recommendations for things to do, places to eat and must see locations during your stay with us. brbrWe are located approximately a 1/2 mile north from the entrance to Flintfields Horse Park, home of Traverse City Horse Shows, Great Lakes Equestrian Festival and the American Gold Cup series. We specialize in accommodating trainers, barn owners and competitors during the summer, and tourists and families in the shoulder seasons. For our equestrian guests, we also have the potential to offer extra pasture space to give your equine partner a quiet place to stretch, graze and relax before the next competition. The fully stocked kitchen will have all the appliances, dishes, pots and pans needed to prepare meals. Featuring granite counter tops, hard wood floors, stainless steel appliances and custom cabinetry. Our generous amenities include coffee, tea, reverse osmosis filtered water, snacks, all the fixing for making s'mores, common spices and condiments are provided, in addition to paper towels, toilet paper, kleenex, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, moisturizing lotion, first aid supplies, extra toiletry items, linens and towels, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, extra blankets and pillows. Laundry room is equipped with washer and dryer and large utility sink. In addition, a gas grill is available on the deck, as well as lawn furniture and a large bonfire pit with plenty of free wood for your use. Guests are welcome to walk around the property and enjoy the scenery and animals. We ask our guests to refrain from feeding the horses as they have special dietary restrictions. The barn and pastures are for owner's private use unless other arrangements are made ahead of time.brbrOther things to notebrThe farm house was built in 1854 and has a rich and colorful history. It has been fully renovated within recent years, however, there are some quirky little things about the house that require a certain amount of appreciation for old things. This is a non-smoking, dog friendly home, and a working farm. We have horses, barn cats and free ranging poultry. (Cats are never allowed in the house). We pride ourselves on offering spotless clean accommodations and go above and beyond normal protocol for enhanced cleaning recommendations to ensure your safety and peace of mind. We leave additional cleaning supplies in the house for your use and offer additional cleaning services throughout your stay as requested after your arrival.
