By drive we are less then 30 minutes to crescent beach near beautiful Saint Augustine. brWe are canoeing distance to the scenic Oklawaha River that is teaming with wildlife and great fishing.brJust outside our harbor entrance is the Welaka Springs which is a popular gathering place for manatees. There is plenty of parking in the front yard.brVery safe neighborhood. I leave my all my fishing equipment in my boat in the canal and I have never had anything stolen.brbrThere is a private 12'x50' waterfront dock with lots seating and a large sun shade and dining area just steps from the 12'x30' screened porch Which also has comfortable Tommy Bahama wicker seating and a game table which can also be used for dining.brbrI also have a 16 foot bass fishing boat that I rent for $40 per day or $200 for a whole week, There is a $25 cleaning fee for the bass boat. and a large pontoon boat that I rent for $100 per day $500 per week, there is a $50 cleaning fee for the pontoon boat.brThe fishing right in the backyard is great. The canal is over 9 foot deep so by Florida standards it is a deep fishing hole. You do not even need a fishing license to fish in the canal. You need a license to fish in the river. We just added a 2022 Golf cart available for rental. $150 per day. You can cruise Welaka in style.brEveryone who has stayed here are overjoyed that the house and setting is better than the pictures show or that they had imagined. brThere are several nice restaurants all within a couple of miles.brbrThis area of Florida is called the sportsman's capital of the world. You have fresh water fishing (lunker bass), saltwater fishing, crabbing, shrimping, scalloping, alligator hunting, deer hunting, wild boar hunting, boating, sailing, swimming, snorkeling and abundant wildlife viewing.brWe have several fresh water springs nearby that attract manatees. Occasionally I will have manatees right in the canal in back of the house.brI have games and lots of books that you can swap for books that you have read, so bring along books that you do not need.brI have recently made some changes to the house, I have replaced all the carpeting and the laminate flooring in the house and the screened in porch, I have had the entire house walls ceiling and woodwork repainted, I have reupholstered the screened in porch furniture as well as refinished all the wicker. I have had the mattress steam cleaned and window coverings dry-cleaned.brI have also hired a Concierge/ assistant manager Michelle who has moved into the guest house where I have lived for the past 5 years, I have moved into my new house just around the corner.brWe have a nice 18-hole golf course a couple of miles away that is cheap to play, You can bring your own clubs or you can use mine, they also rent clubs.br Pets. 2 Dogs are allowed.(under 50 lbs) But the pet fee will be charged if more than 2 pets.brUp to 10 guest are allowed to sleep over ,If more than 10?
