Road Town, Tortola
With a spectacular location & views above Brewers Bay, beautiful Whale Watch is the island getaway you've been dreaming of - think privacy, relaxation, a clear turquoise ocean and azure sky as far as the eye can see.
If you're familiar with Tortola, Whale Watch is located just down from Soldier Hill on the way to Brewers Bay. Follow a quiet dirt track to just 3 villas spread well apart from each other for complete privacy and peace that few properties can boast.
Freshly re-decorated in 2018, the villa is crisp and serene with neutral paint, furnishings and linens, with splashes of ocean blues, greens and turquoises.
Large wooden doors at the end of the driveway open onto a little courtyard where the stunning views will immediately wow you as you enter your home away from home! The courtyard leads directly to the covered dining porch, living room and a more formal front door. This open layout and is what keeps the property cool, informal and relaxing. The views really take the centre stage from anywhere on the property and at any time of day...miles of glistening ocean ripples, vivid pastel sunset skies by day, and twinkling lights on the hillside and boats below by night.
The kitchen and living room are separated by a relaxed breakfast bar (with seating for 4) where you can sit and chat while prepping or cooking meals, and the kitchen is fitted with stainless Viking appliances making cooking at the villa a pleasure. The fabulous covered al-fresco dining porch with teak dining table and seating for 8 and extra large propane grill (with rotisserie accessories and more) complete the dining experience. The living room is comfortably furnished with slip-covered sofa and arm chairs. The kitchen and living room have plenty of ventilation with 2 walls of sliding doors (both glass and screened) and several screened windows as well as powerful Hunter ceiling fans. There is also the option of AC and there's also a hammock chair on the main dining porch.
All the rooms are in one building, but the bedrooms are accessed by exterior doors only, reached by a covered walkway from the front door or wooden steps on the ocean-facing side. The Master bedroom is a few steps up from the main level front door and features a king bed with matching custom-built teak bedroom set, AC, an ensuite bathroom with shower, and glass & screen sliding doors leading to a personal balcony overlooking the pool and the bay below. The second bedroom is accessed by a few steps leading down from the main level front door and features twin beds that can be fitted to make a comfortable king bed, AC, ensuite bathroom with shower and glass sliding doors / screen door to personal balcony.
The gorgeous sun deck with 2 sun loungers is accessed by steps from both bedroom balconies as well as the main deck and steps from the courtyard. The pool features a powerful swim machine for the fitness enthusiast! On the lower deck of the main house there is a spacious 3rd bathroom with shower as well as an exterior shower for rinsing off after the beach.
All in all, Whale Watch is the perfect! And it's the ideal spot for a honeymoon or romantic anniversary trip... The layout is perfect for either one couple or for 2, for anyone looking for plenty of down-time reading and watching nature or the boats drift by. Rest assured, the fun and live music of Cane Garden Bay or Road Town are just a few minutes away with plenty of fabulous restaurants to tempt your taste buds with fresh local dishes like fish, conch fritters, coconut shrimp, rotisserie and more.
**You must go outside under a covered walkway to reach either bedroom meaning that Whale Watch is not suitable for young children to sleep in the 2nd bedroom**
**You must rent a 4WD SUV if staying at Whale Watch, the road is a hilly, dirt track and does require 4WD when wet. We can assist with your car rental**

We had a lovely stay at whale watch. The views down to brewers bay were incredible. The house had everything we needed, was clean and even had a generator the night we lost power. The roads on Tortola are definitely some of the steepest we’ve been on and we’ve seen our fair share. There are dirt roads, rocky roads, etc. so 4 wheeled drive is definitely needed. Some of the most secluded and best beaches (Rogues, little Bay) were off the beaten path but were so worth it. Smugglers Cove is a must see. Didn’t care for Cane Garden Bay but we like to be alone or one of the only families on a beach. A day trip to Jost is a must! Thank you, Sam, for a memorable stay.
The property was amazing. The location close to Brewers Bay could not be more ideal and the view is simply spectacular. Can’t say enough great things about our stay but I will say that we can’t wait to return!
Clean, Beautiful, everything you could ever need. Beautiful views of the islands
We got off to rocky start. Sam and staff had been good @ communication leading up to the stay, but she was offsite the day we arrived. She had a person in place for check in, but we got lost. Google maps wasn't quite getting us to the house, but luckily, some very nice locals got us there. After check in, everything ran smooth. The house is just as advertised with a beautiful view of the bay. It takes a bit to get around the island as our day trips were out of the West End, but it didn't take long for us to get our bearings. Overall, I would recommend Whale Watch for a relaxing stay in Tortola.
We want to come back for longer. It was great!
Sam was a tremendous support and resource before and during the visit. We are experienced Tortola visitors and enjoyed the quiet, privacy, and outstanding views. Kitchen was well equipped.
Our stay at Whale Watch was absolutely lovely. The property is very clean and well-maintained. There are stairs involved so just be mindful of that when staying with elderly. The property managers are wonderful and very responsive. The house is just a few minutes drive from Brewers Bay. Everything was well-stocked including beach chairs and floaties. You will most definitely want to rent a 4WD to get here and in fact to get around to the many wonderful beaches on the island. My family loved it. We have older teens, so the set up was fine for us, but be mindful this property has 4 levels, the pool level, the 2nd bedroom and bath, the living area, the master bedroom and bath. Thank you to all of the staff at Villas of Tortola for a wonderful stay.
Whale Watch was perfect for my stay. Great support from Sam and Pinky and the rest of their team. Will definitely look to get there again.
The villa is super clean with nice Viking appliances and all the amenities. Very well situated between brewers bay (one of our favorite beaches on the island) and cane garden bay. The pool is small but all you need to cool down. The view is spectacular and worth the price of admission!. Having stayed on St. John many times we were not surprised by the dirt road leading in. It’s a bit rough but you get used to it. We would definitely stay here again.
Our family needed a major break from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta and Whale Watch was the perfect remedy. Sam, Sharlene and the team were very responsive and detailed and offered a ton of help when needed. The house is very well put together and positioned and if you’re looking for a total disconnect/relax, this is the place to go. Rain, shine or moonlight there is no better view or setting than Whale Watch. The easy and quick access to Brewers is a major plus as that one stunning beach. Can’t wait until we go back!!
We couldn't be more pleased about our 6-day stay at Whale Watch. Everything was outstanding and the views are even better than the photos suggested. Sam and Sharlene were extremely responsive to all our requests. The entrance road may make some a little uncomfortable but it is no problem with 4WD car and they were improving the drive while we were there.
Quiet nighst, amazing view. Perfect for relaxation.
Beautiful house in a great location on the island. My wife and another couple stayed for 10 days in March. Private, quiet, clean, beautiful outside area, nice kitchen, nice bedrooms. However, the real winner is the view. It's amazing! I would certainly stay here again. The place worked out great for our trip.
Thank You!
Absolutely beautiful home and location high on the hill overlooking Brewer's Bay. Love the sunrise over the mountain, if you want a good sunset, it's a short drive down to Cane Garden Bay. Would recommend 4 WD or AWD vehicle for the dirt road portion coming in to and leaving the property. Sam was very responsive to us when we were there. We would come back to this property in a heartbeat!
