Sweet Breeze is a perfect base to explore the beauty of this tropical island and have a wonderful retreat to come home to relax and enjoy with family and friends. Tobago at its best!
Very fine building with all what you need, including garden, swimming pool and so on.
We had an excellent stay at Villa Sweet Breeze. From the description of the property we really hoped that villa would be part of the holiday experience and we really weren't disappointed. The villa is as lovely as the pictures show, with a beautiful garden and a great surrounding view. We spent a few days of our holiday relaxing inside, or on the veranda or lying by the pool. The villa is well maintained and the property manager was very responsive and helpful when we had any issues. The only thing I would say is that you really need a car as the property is at the top of a very high hill which is not really a walkable distance to the bottom. We had a great stay in Tobago and it was definitely enhanced by our stay at Villa Sweet Breeze.
Sweet Breeze Villa is set in glorious tropical woodland with panoramic , unspoilt views in several directions. At night the lights of Buccoo Bay glitter far in the distance - and we enjoyed stargazing out by the pool. High ceilings, wooden louvres, no glass, constant gentle breezes - the best of the tropics. But sleeping in is challenging because of the raucous cocricos - a minor price to pay for this total immersion in nature. And buying very fresh fish, having an ocean swim, getting groceries a mere ten minutes a drive down the curvy hillside road. It’s beautiful and we loved it. On a more practical level, some bathroom updates and new kitchen cutlery and pots would be nice.
Jenny’s place is flawless. We couldn’t have imagined the combination of forest, ocean views, nature, the best private pool we’ve encountered, wonderful staff, and every detail considered that we had here. It was absolutely perfect, and we will be back. Word to the wise: if you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs (roosters, parrots, etc, sound travels on this mostly peaceful hill). Also, we really recommend that you fully embrace your visit to the island. Get a car, go to all the beaches, stop at the side of the road bars and soup/food/fruit stands, and go to Scarborough market, along the beaches on Northside Road, or Buccoo dock for fresh fish. We cannot imagine if we stayed here and just hung out at the property - along there are days that lounging in the hammock with Trinidad rum should be the only objective - just went to Pigeon Point (although you must), or took taxis from A to B. We saw pretty much the whole island in 4 days driving around, and it was the best experience (avoiding Arnos Vale Road). Just be sure you can drive on the left, in diverse road conditions, and be a confident driver. The roads on the island aren’t always wide, fully paved, or free of obstructions, but if you take them you will be rewarded. Also be sure to ask Amanda where to get the best doubles (She’s right!) and get there before 5:30pm because they will run out - so good! See you in a year!
Wonderful stay, villa was all we expected and more, made our time on the island very special. Well equipped for all our needs, lovely staff. Breathtaking views, lots of wildlife to see and even the neighbouring rooster added to the charm! Would thoroughly recommend it!
The initial night was very nice. The villa was isolated just as I wanted it to be with a beautiful view. Regrettably, our time for relaxation was cut short when Tobago was hit with a really bad storm; flooding the villa and ruining our things. Other than that Helen was great and checked on us after the storm had passed. The villa was well equipped with supplies. It had its few hiccups such as the washing machine not working along with sheets that appeared to have not been cleaned.
We stayed at Villa Sweet Breeze for two weeks in June. It is a beautiful, tranquil spot with amazing views of the bay in the distance. The house is well-equipped and was perfect for our stay. It really does live up to its name. It was so relaxing to sit on the verandah in the morning and listen to the birds singing. Tobago is a magnificent island, with stunning beaches and scenery. A big thank-you to Amanda, too, who cooked us a delicious meal one evening. We would love to return one day.
Property was as advertised, but is a bit isolated - especially noticeable if you arrive at night as we did - late. Quite enjoyable otherwise. The “handyman” Marvin was particularly kind and helpful.
Villa Sweet Breeze is high up on Patience Hill with fantastic views of the rain forest and the Caribbean below. The house is even better than it appears in the photos, with shuttered doors that can open up the whole ground floor onto the back patio, the cleanest pool of any villa we have ever stayed at, and all the mod cons you could wish for. It is also very private, with no overlooking properties. The house is well decorated and well equipped, especially in the kitchen, which had everything we needed. The owners also provide all the basics in the kitchen, which is very helpful. The local management team of Helen, Amanda and Marvin were all brilliant, checking occasionally that all was well and being there if we needed them. Amanda also cooked us a local meal one evening, which was a highlight of our trip! Our 2 weeks in Sweet Breeze flew by, and if you are looking for a fantastic, peaceful retreat in Tobago, then I would certainly recommend this villa.
The villa was beautiful , clean and with a view.
It was a total dream. The style of the house is very inviting and calming. It is just the right amt of everything. The view never gets old. The management team of the property was friendly and helpful! Believe them when they recommend renting a vehicle as it is nestled in the hills. Already thinking of my next booking at Villa Sweet Breeze.
The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Helen made sure we were comfortable with our stay. Pool was clean, villa was nice and very airy. A few updates could help make your stay even more pleasant. Jenny answered my emails quickly and offered many suggestions to make our visit perfect. We rented a van locally which worked out great. The island is filled with many voicterous birds and animals which don't care about the time or hour, but are fun to watch. We saw a pair of green parrots every morning along with other beautiful birds that we fed fruit to from the porch. Local restaurants offer wonderful food and the people of Tobago are very nice! We were never afraid of our safety. Beaches are close by or a short drive, beautiful!
We already miss the birds, breeze, view, food, people and relaxation. We couldn’t have been happier with the house. Keston was wonderful and so helpful. We loved having food waiting for us at the house since it was a long day of travel. Thank you for providing a great honeymoon retreat. Beautiful home and property.
I have visited the island many times but it was my parents first time. I chose somewhere further up the island so we could have space, our own pool & quiet. Initially I was apprehensive on no air con but I can reassure you the breeze was beautiful at no point was no air con an issue. My other apprehension was driving (not the most confident driver) but I actually enjoyed the experience, very different to back home. The villa itself was my dream home, every morning & evening to watch the sun rise & set was truly magical. The children loved the pool. Highly recommend. Furthermore the contacts provided were exceptional, felt very welcomed and at ease to ask for advice. Would definitely stay there again.
The setting couldn’t be more idyllic, the house itself wonderfully appointed and beautifully designed and decorated. We didn’t want to leave!
Staying at Villa Sweet Breeze was like living in a fairy tale. My husband and I stayed with friends, another couple, for two weeks. While the online pictures are beautiful, they can't fully capture how truly stunning the views are. The villa itself is airy, spacious, clean, comfortable and details well thought out. The veranda is fabulous and we enjoyed sitting in the comfortable lounge chairs and hammock to read, watch birds and enjoy stunning sunsets. Flowers are plentiful on the property and I enjoyed the scented jasmine while swimming in the pool which was pristine. The management team was excellent and responsive. We enjoyed superb restaurants nearby such as Fish Pot and Waves. We loved the beautiful beaches and took a memorable catamaran ride on the Picante. One tip would be to rent a small and narrow car as it is easier to manage some of the winding roads in the hills. We can confidently recommend Villa Sweet Breeze and hope that we can come back again in the future.
We had a great time. Very happy with our stay. A charming property. To enhance our experience, I'd have included a staff itinerary (we never knew who and when staff would arrive to clean or garden etc). Also, an information book about the property...how to work the alarm, contact numbers for problems like the power-cut at New Years, the nearest pharmacy, supermarket or best place for fresh fruit/Veg. Also I recommend the addition of shade by the pool. I understand it's windy up there, and lovely to have that breeze, but there are ways of providing shade from the sun which doesn't only mean umbrellas which may blow over. There are other options. Some of the linen and furniture could do with an upgrade. However, overall the place was fabulous and I'd definitely return if I could. 4.5 out of 5. Finally, a word about kites flown over the property by some neighbours - I don't know how you can stop it, but it was constant and noisy...even in the dark at 8pm.
This place has a fantastic view, Didn't want to leave, The house is perfect sitting up on top of the hill and nice summer breeze comes through the shutters, wonderful pool, Loved it all and would return.
lovely spot..a/c not needed ...a car is a must.....pool is a plus
We have just returned from 2 weeks staying at Villa Sweet Breeze and my wife would go back tomorrow given half a chance. Even though there are good restaurants nearby she loves to cook and the well appointed kitchen in Sweet Breeze was perfect for her to cook in and we would eat out on the veranda looking at the view. I loved to just float in the pool looking out at the view and watch all the multicoloured birds fly by. I was initially concerned that there wasn't any air conditioning but the Sweet Breeze did its job helped by the overhead fans in the villa. The owner of the villa was very helpful and obviously loves Tobago, just like everyone who has visited, we had one small issue with the water but Marvin who lives in a small house in the grounds came instantly and sorted it. If you do stay here or even just visit Tobago a must do is the bioluminescence tour from Pigeon Point, it's run by Radical Sports who offer the usual water sports available on holiday. You can either paddle board or kayak with a group at dusk to the lagoon where, as it gets darker, you can see the plankton light up as you disturb them in the water. It's a remarkable experience if you get in the warm water and swim the area around you lights up, but if you move slowly it looks like you have been sprinkled with fairy dust. One for the bucket list. After returning to base a pint of cold Carib goes down really well, and so does the second, in the bar next door to Radical Sports. We ate out a few times and was never disappointed by our choice of restaurants. Most of the beaches in Tobago are special but make an effort to go to Pirates Bay, one of the most stunning bays in the world.
I just wanna say that Jenny was very accommodating and allowed my party to extend our stay after the initial booking over TripAdvisor. Months leading up to the trip Jenny said in contact with me and was very informative about the property and its surrounding. We said at the Villa from February 25 to March 5. During our stay house keeping and the gardeners came regularly to ensure that the property was well maintained. All of the people working on the property were very polite. I liked that the staff stocked the house with the requested food upon our arrival. Even though the property does not have air conditioning, we all found that air conditioning was not needed. At all times of the day the property had a cool breeze blowing through it. During our stay, we only had minor issues. First, even though we could tell that the linens were freshly cleaned, some had unpleasant stains on them. Would advise buying new linens. Secondly, it would have been welcomed if paper products, such as toilet paper was not locked up in the cupboard. Other than that, our stay was very enjoyable.
We had a great two weeks at Villa Sweet Breeze. It has everything you need: good internet, a well equipped kitchen (although a microwave might be useful), a shower with good pressure and hot water (and believe me we've spent many Caribbean holidays fantasizing about such things!), fabulous covered outside space (for fair-skinned folk like us!) and of course the famous Sweet Breeze. And then there's the view..... As you sit out back looking across the pool at the Caribbean in the distance there are no other buildings (although I think one might be going up at the moment - its not going to spoil the view). The Villa is surrounded by vegetation, it's all very relaxing. Maybe some parrots will fly by, they seemed to do this every day while we were there. Regarding the breeze: This is our fourth consecutive Christmas/New Year holiday in the Caribbean and by far the most comfortable nighttime environment. We had the ceiling fan on and that was all we needed, it just doesn't seem to get that hot at night (unlike some sweltering night times we've had in Jamaica, Barbados and St Lucia). The beds have excellent mosquito netting (hung in such a way that it's very simple to seal) but I can't imagine you even need this at this time of year. I (Jonny) normally get eaten alive by Mosquitoes but this year had almost zero bites. And finally, the island itself is super friendly. Probably not as much to do (if you're like us and love to explore) as some of its competitors and restaurants are pretty pricey (as is supermarket food) but we'll have very fond memories of our holiday there. The best restaurant we discovered by far was The Fish Pot in Black Rock (ten minute drive), we only discovered it right at the end but wished we'd gone there every day, absolutely delicious and not that pricey. Jonny & Fiona
Jenny and friends-- Thank you so much for a fabulous family vacation. The house itself was breathtaking-- and the island was just an added bonus. We could've spent all our time at Sweet Breeze, with the lovely natural light, beautiful sunsets, and spectacular bird-watching. Best place to stay in Tobago-- nothing could top it! Hope we can visit again soon. Thanks, Jenny, for everything. Especially following up with us about Sandy, the pup. --The Nehrbasses
We loved staying at Sweet Breeze Villa. It is in a superb location and although we were here for 4 weeks (2 with our daughters and 2 on our own) the time just flew in and over the four weeks we fell more in love with both the villa and with Tobago it’s an island that just grows on you. Everyone is so friendly and we hope it never loses its “ambience”. Having stayed at various villas before we were very impressed with Jenny & “her team” from our initial enquiry about the villa and any subsequent queries – Jenny always got back in touch. It was lovely being met at the airport by Keston (who we had hired a car with through Jenny) Amber was at the villa to greet us and came in 3 days a week to change the bedding/towels and to clean the villa. The pool was cleaned regularly and the gardens tended too. It was a lovely place to relax, listen to and watch the birds, enjoy the view and the pool which was warm during the day and night when we were there. We enjoyed having a siesta in the hammock or loungers, reading or just enjoying a drink in the evenings and the internet connection was invaluable too. Other days we explored the island, we enjoyed just going out and about catching the lovely views of the Island. I am a coeliac, but found that taking my own bread/pasta/crackers with me was adequate (had space in the freezer for several loaves) and could get gluten free sausages/flour/breakfast cereals etc on the island at the main supermarkets. Beautiful villa and setting, would love to return one day, we are already missing driving up and down to the villa, watching out for the chickens and goats :) Thanks Jenny and all your team for letting us experience a wonderful time in Tobago @ Sweet Breeze. Could go on and on but best to just experience for yourselves !
Wow, not only was sweet breeze the perfect villa, it was also in a fabulous location. We have stayed in a few villas in Tobago over the years and this is definitely the best. Where do I start? Well, it was immaculate, it was typically Caribbean, light and airy, the views were stunning, the gardens and pool area were fabulous and the verandah was just the perfect place to relax (lime). We spent the first week of our 5 week holiday here with our son and his girlfriend and we couldn't have wished for a better introduction to Tobago for them. We were close to some beautiful beaches where we spent days fishing, dining and sunbathing, and close enough to supermarkets to stock up on stag, rum and chicken, hence we spent the evenings sitting on the verandah, drinking daiquiris, eating jerk chicken, listening to chill out tunes (Spotify or a local village band), playing cards (a first for us!) and watching the sunset. We all fell in love with the dogs, they were so well behaved and became part of the family. From experience the villa you choose is a key part to a fantastic holiday and villa sweet breeze didn't disappoint. It has given us some absolutely amazing memories that will stay with us forever. Thankyou so much Jenny, we look forward to returning.
We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary here with our children and their partners and could not have chosen a better villa. Sweet Breeze sits on the top of a hill with views of the Caribbean and the Atlantic and as the name suggests has a cool breeze though it all the time via its louvered windows. Lovely swimming pool and deck. Adorable dogs around (if you want them) Maid made us a couple of meals and cleaned the house a couple of times while we were there. Close to some fabulous beaches with very few people on them if at all! Good restaurants nearby. We hired a van for 6 of us through Keston ( recommended by Jenny )and this worked out very well. We hope to return one day.
How very lucky we were to stay at such a wonderful villa on the Island of Tobago. Villa Sweet Breeze is beautiful in every sense of the word. We were met at the airport by Keston whom we had rented our car from (Jenny will have his details). He gave us such a warm welcome to the island and then he drove his car with us following behind in our hired car, to the villa. This was so helpful as, until you get your bearings, the villa could be difficult to find. Subsequently, we had no problem at all in finding our way back after a day out. On arriving at the Villa we were welcomed by Carol, our Housekeeper. She had prepared the villa beautifully and it was actually quite breath taking. It is open plan and very spacious with lovely furnishing and there is everything there that you could possibly need to make your holiday restful (perhaps a microwave would be helpful). The gardens are full of beautiful shrubs and trees and alive with the most amazing bird life. To sit on the veranda and wait for the daily visits from our Mot Mot was incredible (such a majestic bird) and our resident Mocking Bird seem to follow us around. Not to mention the array of humming birds, finches, doves, parrots etc. Quite magical. We cannot recommend this villa highly enough, we really do feel that we have found a piece of paradise and can’t wait to return.
My husband and I were lucky enough to call Villa Sweet Breeze home for the full month of February. We couldn't have been happier anywhere else. The villa is centrally located so getting to your destination (wherever that might be) is never too far away. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and you'll enjoy waking up to the symphony of birds each morning (sometimes it sounds as tho you're in the jungle!) We loved having the dogs over each day (they stay with Marvin next door - he's the house maintenance person). Kaila is a sweet, sweet dog (Rottweiller), and Shaka is only a puppy (6mos!) so he was full of energy, but beginning to learn some manners. Great companions! The villa is big and spacious and each bedroom has doors that lead to a balcony - great views! The living room is large and very comfortable and internet connection is fast and reliable. Carla is the housekeeper and she was so friendly and helpful. She always gave us suggestions of things to do and even cooked us local dishes! (you'll enjoy all the fruit trees on the property too). Our favorite beach was Back Bay (secluded - ask a local and GO!), it's only 10 minutes from the villa. We enjoyed lunch at the Fish Pot (very close) and Jemma's Tree House (up north in Speyside), Shirl's fried chicken (or fish - just before you get to Buccoo Bay), La Cantina, The Pavilion and the Seahorse were also great restaurants. Other things we'd recommend: Island Girl catamaran for a day of snorkeling and bbq lunch; Pops Tours for a day of deep sea fishing and a fabulous island bbq on No Man's Land; Sunday School (not what you think!) every Sunday night in Buccoo Bay for one of the most entertaining evenings of your vacation!! To really experience this gorgeous island, you'll need to rent a car and we highly recommend Kampbell's Auto Hire. Keston (owner) was SO helpful and nice. He even picked up a friend of ours at the airport late at night and drove her to the villa at NO charge! We definitely hope to come back to this gem of an island and when we do there's no doubt that we will stay at Villa Sweet Breeze. Thank you Jenny for sharing your beautiful home. We loved every minute of our extended stay and were very sad to say good-bye.
The villa was everything I expected it to be, and in conjunction with the service offered by those working for the villa guests, we were very happy with our stay. We arranged for excellent meals were cooked for some of our stay, and for the other days the fish we bought from Mt Irvine fish market, and meat from Golden Grove were commendable. I'd also recommend the roti from the woman with a roadside stall at Mt Irvine, and The Fish Pot restaurant for lunch. Once we found a reliable supplier of limes, we could sit back and relax with a G&T or punch, and enjoy the pool overlooking the countryside and sunset. The veranda is spacious and dining area outside the kitchen, next to the hanging bird feeder, is very pleasant. Numerous tropical mockingbirds visited, and a few mot mots, tanagers, and copper-rumped hummingbirds. The two resident rottweilers, Voodoo and Kayli, and our 19 month old boy found each other fascinating, and the lockable gate on the veranda meant that it was safe for him to play indoors, and we did keep an eye on the dogs when he was around the pool area - so for those without dogs, like ourselves, they posed no major problems, and were indeed a pleasant addition to the stay. Thanks again, and we hope to be able to visit again soon.
Villa Sweet Breeze was everything the photos and description promised to be. Beginning with our inquiry of the property, we had a prompt response from the owner Jenny. She even called me internationally to answer questions and tell me things about the property before committing to rent. Once we committed she immediately arranged for a car rental and send us the information we would need for the house. The house manager and the car were waiting on us when we arrived at the airport and drove us to the house. The house is on a hill and off the beaten path--so it was great to have someone lead us there initially! We loved the layout and openess of the house. The floor to ceiling plantation shutters open all over the house to make it a truly open house. All the bottom level rooms go right onto the verandah when the shutters are open. Absoultely wonderful and with the great chaise lounges and hammock on the porch--it was the perfect place to relax, read and watch the birds (of which there were many!). The pool was also very refreshing. The house manager Susan and Marvin (who lives in another house on the property) were very responsive if we ever had a need. There was an issue with the lights in one washroom and it was immediatly repaired the next day. Also, we were provided with a local cell phone which was VERY helpful for arranging tours and contacting restaurants. A couple of things to note is that the property does not have A/C. This was not much of a problem for us with being able to open the shutters and ceiling fans. But we did get a little hot when sleeping. Several nights we slept with the house wide open to keep the air flow going. Also, there are two dogs on the property. They do roam and can be active, but mostley stay to themselves. The property is surrounded by a fence and an electronic gate--this made us feel very secure during our stay. The location of the house is a convenient 15 minutes from the Crown Point Airport and many of the restaurant and shopping areas. We did not want to leave Villa Sweet Breeze when it came time at the end of the week. We highly recommed this property to anyone wanting to truly get away from it all!
Villa sweet Breeze was everything that was described on the rental website and just as beautiful and picturesque to the eye as the the photo's suggested. Susanna was wonderful, greeting us at the airport as soon as we arrived, and it was a tremendous relief to be met by someone who was warm and friendly as well as efficient after the trauma of immigration. She immediately called our car hire company to enquire about the where about's of our car when we arrived, as we were unable to locate the rental company. Our car was delivered within 1o mins of her call. She then drove us to the villa pointing out points of interest for us along the way. I could not have asked for a better person to meet us after such a long journey. The property was maintained to a high stranded and it was great to have someone like Marvin on sight as a port of call Marvin was fantastic, fixing any little niggles which occurred as soon as we mentioned them. He was friendly, easy to approach and helpful, even taking a trip with us to an alternative supermarket to buy some meat. My daughters loved the dogs, especially Kaylee whom now holds a special place in my eldest daughters heart, she is defiantly a character and bundles of fun! The Villa itself was a pleasure to stay in and the breeze a welcome relief on those very hot days, although, we did not get to enjoy eating outside as much as we would have liked in the evenings due to the rain exciting the mosquito's which were out in force: My family and I loved our time at the Villa and would love to stay again when we return to Tobago.
This was our third visit to this lovely place. The villa is so comfortable and the gardens so peaceful we can't imagine a better place to escape the gloom of England for a couple of weeks. Jenny is very helpful and once there Marvin is always around in case of any questions. The house is clean and well equipped and a great place to just hang out.The gardens are a hive of activity - lizards and humming birds - to watch and just relax in. Having the dogs around makes it a home from home for us. A few minutes drive brings you to the beach where we spent many an hour jumping the waves and swimming in the clear, blue sea. I am sure that we will return to this very special piece of paradise.
This is such a beautiful villa in a wonderful country! we couldn't find fault with anything! Susan met us at the airport ( having waited for us for over an hour!) sorted out car hire and then drove with us to the villa! Wonderful service! we settled in quickly, with Marvin greeting us and then leaving us to our own devices - he was there if we needed him but was not intrusive at all -just what we like! The two dogs , Voodoo and Kayleigh - were lovely but we didn't see much of them - those not used to dogs do not need to worry at all. we had rain for three of our seven days but even this did not detract from our lovely holiday!, we have travelled extensively in the caribean and lived in Africa and Asia but this was our first trip to Tobago - it is a wonderful country with so much to offer and Villa Sweet Breeze is such a lovely place to stay and relax and enjoy this country even if it rains!!! our dealings with Jenny were also very good prior to departure and I would not hesitate to recommend you book with her - you will not be disappointed! Security was not an issue at all - I think we had been scared by reports but we felt very safe throughout our week. Wevwould like to return - and would definitely stay at Villa Sweet!,,
We had a lovely time staying at this beautiful villa, the gardens were beautiful, attracting many exotic birds during our stay. The dawn chorus starts early in Tobago. There were books a plenty to read and browse. As a cook, I appreciated the home from home, access to all types of saucepans and was not left feeling I needed for anything. Watch out for the birds that invade the house! Hide your bananas. A very relaxing place to stay with stunning views.
We have just spent a wonderful two weeks at Villa Sweet Breeze. The location of the villa on a hillside overlloking the pool, garden and the lush vegetation of an old coconut plantation out towards Pigeon Point was just stunning. The Caribbean Sea can be seen on three side of the villa. The name of the villa is also spot on with a refreshing breeze at all times. The villa is confortably furnished and provided us with every facility that we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We loved spending afternoons relaxing on the wide verandah overlooking the garden and watching out for numerous species of birds. The villa is perfectly located for touring around the beautiful island with good access for beaches, restaurants and shopping. We appreciated the assistance of Marvin who lives in a cottage in the garden and Sandra who made sure we had every thing we needed and was very helpful in arranging some where for us to spend our last day before our evening flight home. We have stayed in numerous villas throughout the Caribbean and certainly rate our stay in Tobago as one of our most enjoyable and will hopefully be returning to Villa Sweet Breeze in the future.
My husband and I spent a week here over New Years with our 16 & 22 yr old sons. The house was perfect for us. Really clean, modern, esthetically pleasing. Inifinity pool was the perfect temperatuer. Couldn't ask for a better view and so relaxing, great deck to chillax on! We cooked and ate al fresco. The owner and grounds keeper as well as house manager all were available to make our stay as comfortable and easy as possible.
Our family spent a perfect Christmas at this lovely house! It was home from home - a very comfortable house. We were made to feel very welcome and the house had all we needed for a very relaxing holiday. It is in a beautiful location which makes it feel very secluded and special. We were all happy to spend long days playing in the pool in the sunshine, watching the hummingbirds, butterflies and lizards in the garden or just looking at the fantastic views across the forest to the Caribbean sea. Sometimes we managed to drag ourselves away to splash in the waves at Black Rock beach, just a 10 minute drive away. This was our second visit to Villa Sweet Breeze and we really hope to return again before too long!
Sweet Breeze Villa was just what I needed after not having gone a long vacation in years. The openness when all doors and shutters are open allows for an amazing breeze to fill the home, with stunning views of the ocean, mountains, and flora/fauna. The pool offers a cool escape from the afternoon sun, and the kitchen provides the opportunity to save money by cooking at home... oh, and the dining room is outstanding: on the open deck, overlooking the pool and ocean. Renting a car allows you great ease of getting around Tobago, and with the beach only a few minutes drive, you can get to and from the Villa quite easily. This is a must-stay place... I will be coming back - next time with a few friends or a special someone!!!!
Villa Sweet Breeze is a beautiful house, very comfortable with so many gorgeous places to sit. We felt very at home here, with plenty of room to spread out and the gorgeous breeze gave such relief from the scorching sun. The veranda was such a lovely place to sit and read. The outside space and views are perfect, Susan and Marvin were very helpful, they sorted out a problem with the safe very efficiently and they were nice to have around. Our children loved the pool and exploring the gardens. Tobago is fabulous loved the rainforest and Englishmans bay and argyle falls best, but have to admit it was very hard to leave the house as we were having such a good time there! Being on the top of the hill means it is so private too. I would thoroughly recommend this house for people with kids.
We booked Villa Sweet Breeze for an 11 day stay over Easter in '09. We travelled to Tobago with friends as well as our two small children (aged 3 and 2) and were obviously a little apprehensive that the accommodation was suitable. Upon arrival, we were utterly thrilled with all that we saw - the villa was perfect for our needs. Our friends settled into the downstairs bedroom enjoying their own bathroom, whilst we took over the upstairs - just right with adjacent bedrooms and a bathroom to share. The villa is totally beautiful - if you want to stay somewhere with true colonial charm then look no further. Its shutters allow you to totally open up the house which enables you to enjoy the lovely tropical breeze. The huge veranda with its hammocks and lounging cushions is just brilliant - it also gave us peace of mind as it's enclosed which meant the children could play safely without wandering off! The garden, although hilly, is very pretty and well-maintained, and the pool is great - we all enjoyed relaxing on the surrounding decking in the pod-chairs. Because Villa Sweet Breeze is located on a hill top it enjoys magnificent views - it is surrounded by lush vegetation which is home for a huge range of wildlife. It was magical to watch the humming birds feed from the flowers surrounding the villa, however, ear plugs may be advisable as the dawn chorus begins way before dawn and you'll become reluctantly familiar with the call of the aptly named chachalaca bird! The staff associated with the villa were all extremely helpful and friendly. Babysitting was arranged upon request, which gave us a bit of a break. We were in Tobago for a friend's wedding and several of the guests visited us at the villa during the holiday - all of whom suffered from severe accommodation envy!
Villa Breeze!!! This is a most wonderful & enchanting villa, the name Villa Breeze is given to it, as there is a wonderful breeze that goes throughout the villa & has a well equiped kitchen. It is set in a very beautiful & picturesque suroundings. We loved the villa so much we decided to get married there! even though the Island does offer some other beautiful places.... We decided on the villa as it made our wedding day even more personal. We highly recomend this Villa for both, that get away from it all holliday & for a wonderfull & uniquie place to get married!!!
Sweet Breeze really has something special to offer and certainly lives up to its name. This is one of the most spectacular villas I have stayed in. Driving up to the house and the initial walk through, reaching the veranda on the other side is breathtaking!. There are picturesque views of endless lush forest with the sea in the distance, The villa is perfectly equipped, and beautifully furnished. The bedrooms are all great sizes and there is plenty of space throughout the house. The location is perfect for anyone who is looking to relax by the pool or have rum punches on the veranda and a perfect base from which to have a few rounds of golf, or spend the day at some of the most spectacular beaches. This was a fabulous holiday and I will certainly be returning to this stunning villa.
This is a stunning house in the hills, only 5 minutes from beautiful beach in exotic Tobago. Sweet Breeze is the perfect name as you are gently refreshed whilst relaxing on the most comfortable verandah chairs overlooking the lush garden and countryside to the sea. Rooms are beautifully furnished all with excellent facilities and a very well equipped kitchen. The owners description is completely accurate, there is great attention to detail and this is a perfect place to stay, so much so that we have been more than once and will go again. This is a peaceful, relaxed residence where you can pass the time time with a cocktail or two after visiting the beautiful coves - we saw turtles hatching, giant snails and wonderful fish. Rest assured this will be one of the best holidays in a most lovely house that you have ever had. May 2008
