This lovely two room efficiency suite has its own private entrance on the west wing of a very special private home located on a mountain side at the Bryce Mountain Resort.
Where there are many winter and summer activities. It is walking distance from Lake Laura and a short drive to the golf course and skiing at the Bryce Resort and the Copper Kettle restaurant.
We cater to those who want a quiet getaway from a busy life or to be close to the many special tourist sites such as Lurray Caverns and the many winery's in the Virginia Mountains.
Refrigerator, microwave, single coffee server, and toaster are provided for your comfort. No other small cooking appliances may be used.
The space was so clean and private. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
Very restful and serene! Quiet and beautiful view of the mountain as sun sets Bringing food a long is a must as there are not food stores nearby
This studio apartment was a lovely place to come back to each night of our vacation! My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights to enjoy some of the sights and attractions in the Shenandoah Valley area - hiking, caverns, and cideries, to name a few. Everything is a little spread out in this area, so expect a bit of a drive to go anywhere. I also recommend planning meals in advance to some extent. There is a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster, so prepping for breakfast was easy enough; our troubles came from being so far from most restaurants, which likely had modified hours during the winter and weren't open at very convenient times for us. Other than taking location into account, our stay couldn't have been better! It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The dining/sunroom area is wonderful, and I enjoyed my time reading in that room each morning before we went out. The host placed a lot of nice little touches that really added to our comfort and enjoyment, such as having some board games available for evenings when we decided to have an earlier night. (Also, random, but the water pressure here is INCREDIBLE! 10/10 for the shower alone!) Just keep in mind that this space is within someone's home, in case that makes a difference to you. There is a separate entrance and whatnot, so there weren't any issues of privacy or disturbing one another.
Third stay here. So peaceful. Hated to leave.
This was our second stay here and will not be our last. This is quickly becoming a home away from home. Can’t say enough good things about the owner, the house and the property.
The accommodations were comfortable and clean. Everything was either new or kept in excellent condition. We had a lovely girlfriend 2-day retreat
We enjoyed the mountains and even walked to Lake Laura and hiked around the lake. The space is accurately described and while we knew going in that there were no kitchen appliances, it was something we wished were there. Also, I would suggest a window covering on the door window between the porch area and the bedroom, for privacy purposes. Other than these small things this place was clean and in a very nice location and we enjoyed it very much.
My husband and I stayed here to visit Shenandoah National Park/Skyline Drive and it was the perfect little apartment for a weekend getaway! Very clean and cozy. lovely view of woods. very quiet location. Also drove down to Charlottesville, VA which was about 90min away. It was a great trip and look forward to coming back!
We were very impressed with the property and how beautiful the spot is. We definitely will be back!
We enjoyed our weekend at the studio apartment. It was a great location and close to all the things we wanted to do. The direction were clear and the room was fantastic. We were so pleased to be there and enjoyed our weekend.
Perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of D.C. Can’t wait to go back.
Great place to relax!
Beautiful clean accommodations close to everything! We will be back :)
I really enjoyed my stay in Helen’s place, is clean and cozy and Helen is one of the nicest people I’ve know. If someone needs a place to be relax, have fun and have a “Nature Recharge” this is the right place To go. If you go make sure you visit Bryce Resort you will find a lot things to do. The resort is like 5 minutes driving from Helen’s place. Also there is this lake called Laura lake perfect place to cool off and have like a beach day. You can go there and spend the day at the lake and rent kayaks, canoes, etc. thank you Helen for having me in your place, definitely I will return!!
It was pleasant but there were amenities that we overlooked checking when we booked our reservation. The room was very nice and attractive BUT no stove and no kitchen sink. I did not like having to use the bathroom bowl to wash off my fruit or anything else that needed to be rinsed before eating. Also, the couch needs nonslip furniture pads under couch legs to keep it from sliding when you sit down. Lastly, bedroom extremely cold first night .... it was 18 degrees outside; not enough heat to keep bedroom warm; extremely cold. Mrs. Lewis
The apartment is cute, clean, well-stocked and secluded. We came to see the Fall foliage and weren’t disappointed. The surrounding area is breathtaking. Thank you for being a gracious host and answering our questions so promptly, Helene.
