This is our second time staying at the tiny house and we plan to go back next year. Love the dock and location!
Love watching Tiny House Nation on TV and now got to experience it. It's adorable, well-stocked, and for us boaters, can't beat having own private dock. We were all over the place by boat and by golf cart (via rental from Mungeon Creek Retreat Golf Cart Rentals - excellent customer service). Host Chris was extremely helpful. She was quick to respond to all our questions. The Crab Company's food was so good we went back 2nd night. Make sure to try the spicy saucy fried shrimp, shrimp/crab/ artichoke dip, and the BBQ nachos - addictive. Add this adventure to your bucket list. . . check, check!
This is a great little property. The dock is in great shape and the tiny house was super clean and updated. This is the perfect place to kick back and relax.
first time staying in a tiny home and we brought our kids. it worked well. great layout, nicely equipped, everything worked well and was new and clean. dock was the high light, built recently with a huge covered pier head, ability to dock inside if wanted (boat traffic is heavy at times). plenty of fish to be caught in the evenings.
Great place, very clean, perfect for a 3 day getaway. Owner was very helpful and responsive. Dock and sunset views were amazing. I will definitely be booking this place again.
We had a wonderful trip to Daufuskie Island and this tiny home was the perfect place to enjoy everything! If you are looking for a relaxing getaway and love the outdoors - this is it. We enjoyed the private dock, sight seeing on our golf cart, the endless beach walks by ourselves, and the island feel - it was wonderful. The food was outstanding. We will be back!
The Indigo Escape tiny house is wonderful. The location only added to our wonderful vacation. We will be back!
My husband and I love this location. Beautiful sunsets and great fishing!
Peaceful
Tiny house was immaculate, and welcoming from first sight to the last look. Everything we needed for comfort and utility was provided. Fell in love with the decor inside and out, blue for my husband, and red for me. The views from the many windows were spectacular!
View is great! Having a golf cart added bonus. Dock is amazing. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed staying here. The tiny house is comfy and the perfect size for a couple. We spent a great deal of time on the dock fishing. We didn’t catch a lot but what we caught was really tasty! The owner checked in with us to make sure everything was okay. We can’t wait to come back to stay again.
Perfect for m
My significant other and I cannot provide enough compliments to this property and island experience! After arriving on Daufuskie Island via the ferry we were warmly welcomed by our transit driver who promptly took us to this tiny home. As the listing describes, the home is right on an inlet with a private dock and your own golf cart! We spent hours fishing (the house is equipped with 2 crab pots, 2 large open face fishing rods and basic tackle) and enjoying the patio furniture located under a covered gazebo on the private dock. We spent one day driving the golf cart around, exploring the island for well over 6 hours with enough charge to get us around. The beach is a mere 10 minute golf cart ride with plenty of bait fish to be caught with a cast net (live bait is not sold on the island, so you have to catch your own)! The Daufuskie Crab Company is on the other side of the island, and while we were expecting to spend a fortune on island food, the prices were affordable (~$15 for shrimp basket, ~$24 for a POUND of peel-n-eat shrimp) - we are South Carolina natives and definitely recommend the deviled crab here as it was the best we've ever had. If you're concerned about emergency services, they do have an EMS & fire/rescue station located on the island. The general store (located at the county dock where you can also fish) does have general items as well pre-made sandwiches (~$6 for a large sandwich) and snacks. We also stopped in School Grounds coffee shop, which was delightful! You should note that while hours may be posted on businesses, this is island time and often this schedule is not concrete, so plan accordingly. The island is very private and booming with wildlife! We repeatedly stated that this would be a kid's DREAM to have the opportunity to run around on a very safe and secluded island, experience the outdoors, fish, go to the beach, etc. The wi-fi here is quite spotty and Verizon seems to be the only carrier that receives consistent service (but very little). However, this did not hinder us whatsoever since there are so many wonderful activities offered on Daufuskie! As a final note, prior to our arrival I had reached out to the owner who was quick to answer all of our questions and was incredibly helpful. We were blown away at the hospitality and can't wait to return and look forward to making this a tradition.
The tiny house experience was awesome. The Defuskie Island experience was fantastic. The Defuskie Ferry from Hilton Head was no issues. Would recommend that you go online at Defuskietransit.com and secure transportation to your rental if needed. Overall…was perfect getaway!!!
- Wonderful first trip to the island. - Everyone was very friendly and inviting. - The Tiny house was perfect for 2 and would have been very accommodating for 4. - The private dock is what really sets this place apart from the rest. Even for those w/out a boat, coffee in the morning and drinks at night were tremendous. - Thought we needed to bring food but the Daufuskie Crab Co. was a two night back-to-back treat. Great food at very reasonable prices + a full bar. - We will definitely be back again. Slainte!
We enjoyed our stay on Daufuskie very much! The tiny house had everything we needed. We spent most of our time exploring the island or at the beach, which was awesome. Probably wouldn't want to spend a whole week cooped up with my 10 and 12 year old otherwise :-). The only minor problem was that the internet network assigned to the house was down (found out after we left that it had been knocked out by a storm). The temporary internet was okay, but not great. Thankfully we didn't have to work while we were at the house because that would have probably been a struggle. The TV was great because we could just log into to our own Netflix and Disney accounts. Indigo Escape was a wonderful experience to get to try out a tiny house. The outdoor deck is incredible. Watching the sunset from there with the dolphins playing at your feet was a true highlight of the vacation!
Precious tiny house with a beautiful view! We will definitely be back!
Fantastic!
It was in a great neighborhood with a private dock on the river. It was great that it came with a golf cart to travel around in. Would highly recommend it! Just remember to bring bug spray!
