We chose this property because it had 3 bedrooms, per the request of the family with children, and because of the roll-in shower in the master bedroom. The house is roomy, clearly designed for entertaining. The pool and hot tub were a huge hit. The bonus room doubled as a office for the one member of the group who brought work along. There were a few drawbacks: 1. The toilet in the master bathroom is enclosed in a tiny area that can barely accommodate an able-bodied person, let alone a wheelchair. 2. The lovely shower head on the hose, you know the one you can take down and move around, requires a stepladder to access. 3. Many of the appliances are in need of updating (the dryer only works if you slam the door, the dishwasher racks have to be forced back in, and the door drops on your foot if you aren't careful, etc.) 4. There's a step down into the backyard/pool area that really needs a small ramp for a wheelchair user. 5. The kitchen lacks many basic tools such as a grater, liquid measuring cup and casserole dishes. We were able to work around many of these issues because over the years we have come to expect we will need to bring certain items with us. If you want to stay in a beautiful home with super high ceilings, lots of space for you to hang out as a family and a sweet pool, this is the place for you.
The good: Great for a large group Nice neighborhood Great kitchen appliances The problems: The washer flooded the house during our stay. When I contacted the owner, he did not apologize. I asked for a discount as my family had to literally sweep up water and put it into the garage....some vacation! He said we could leave early which is no help when you’re on vacation 7hrs from home with a big group. I asked for towels as those were all in the broken washer. The owner replied: “those are all I have” like stores don’t have towels. I even offered to door dash towels and he could pay me back. No go. What linens they do have are bare minimum. 1 per person. The spa is locked out at 95 degrees and you have to text the owner to get it to the advertised temp...100. You can’t heat the pool and spa at the same time so pick which one you want warm. Prob not worth the cost to heat the pool if you plan to spend much time in the spa as he will only run the pool heat part of the day. The house is nice but the service from Nick is awful. It’s unfortunate bc it’s a nice property.
We stayed here in mid-December. Nick communicated early on that Palm Springs was strict about vacation rentals, which was fine. Unfortunately, Nick's own house rules are even more strict, and by the time I received them (I missed an earlier email), it was too late to change our stay without incurring a cancellation fee. Make sure you read the notes thoroughly before your cancellation window. For example, the thermostat is locked during your stay and if you want to change it, you have to email Nick. Also, we couldn't find a remote for the fans, which I'm guessing he controls too. Outside of the rules, I'd say the other things that made the stay just ok were - one roll of paper towels for a four night stay and four adults, white water coming out of the taps because of air in the plumbing lines, back glass sliding door that didn't lock, STRONG gas smell outside by the fire pit, no extra blankets on beds. Also, this house is RIGHT in the flight path for the airport, so just know that you'll hear that every day and early. Nick did communicate well during our stay and his rules did have most of the details about the house (save how to operate the dishwasher).
We Really enjoyed this house so much. Five of my closest girlfriends had a girls getaway weekend and we truly had an amazing time at this property. We spent most of our time in that amazing pool. Jacuzzi could have been warmer in the evening even though it was 115 degrees in the day time..It house was very open and spacious, very clean and had everything and essentials we needed for our entire stay and it’s in a great area. The only issue we had was there isn’t an available closet in the master bedroom it was locked so we couldn’t hang our close up and the main bathroom tub had a real sloooowww drain so when you took a shower the water would fill up and take forever to go out. Also there is only 1 TV in the entire house and that’s in the living room, there should at least be a TV in the master bedroom. Other than those few little y EVERYTHING else was great.
My family had a wonderful stay at this clean, comfortable home. Loved the pool and hot tub, and communication with the property owner was great. Would love to stay there again!
Very nice property; spacious, with nice front and back outdoor space. It was easy to access various events from this location.
The place was very nice and very well kept. I'd say quite a bit bigger than the pictures suggest, as that was my chief worry going in. Had a few minor questions here and there and Nick was very responsive by text. It's in a characterless cookie-cutter sub-division on the north edge of town, but that's not a knock on this place since I think that describes 95% of Palm Springs frankly. We paid extra for the pool heating, which I regret only because it was way too windy and relatively chilly to use the pool much (mid-March). The hot tub was awesome, as was the outdoor gas fire pit.
Because of the wind, we did not spend a lot of time outside. However, the open floor plan and spacious kitchen, living room and dining room gave us ample room for game playing and relaxing together. It was truly wonderful. The location was great too. We did not have to drive very far to grocery stores, town etc. The only thing I think would do differently is leave more linens, including kitchen towels and extra blankets. We had a little difficulty with the air conditioner but once you explained how it worked, all was good. I didn’t read anything thing that stated not to adjust the temp lower than 72 degress. Forgive me if you had that written in the instructions but if you didn’t, you may want to add that. No complaints though. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay and would recommend this home for future vacations.
We had a wonderful time at the house. There was plenty of space, great kitchen to cook meals in with plenty of dishes to use, and there was lots of seating to eat meals together. There was enough hot water for all of us to shower and the beds were comfortable enough for a weekend stay. The only part we didn’t enjoy was the remote that controls the outer lights and hot tub was difficult to use and the battery kept dying, but we figured out the hot tub heating situation after a while so it didn’t effect our overall experience that much. We ran out of trash bags but we made do. Overall had a good experience and for the price it met expectations.
