This is the perfect property for anyone that desires a change of scenery from their own home, especially during the summer and you are a Texan that doesn't have your own pool. The home is well stocked for cooking, bathing, and taking a dip in the pool. We put in a curbside order at the nearby HEB to stock up for the weekend and accomplished our goal of getting away from daily life to just relax. There was only one negative that has nothing to do with the house itself. The road off the main street to get to the house is VERY rough. If you don't have an SUV, plan on taking it extra slow. Even then, you will probably still bottom out if your car is low. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
The house was very nice. We had two small children and two adolescents in the group. The addition on the back of the house was perfect for indoor play and the pool was amazing. All four kids had a blast. We cooked meals in the home and there were plenty of kitchen acessories to do this. Short drive to HEB, the Square, and local attractions. Only negative (which is out of the owners control) is the road to the house is very bumpy and worn.
Really enjoyed the stay, the pool was super nice to have but there were no pool lights. Overall it was very relaxing. This place had everything we needed and more, kitchen was complete as well. Would highly recommend this place!!!
The house has all to have a nice vacation with your family, the garden and the pool is beautiful, and the kitchen has lots of stuff to cook, we appreciate that. The rooms and bathrooms are nice. The play area with the ping pong table and the bar are a nice touch to have fun on rainy days. The only con is if the house is for 8 people you need to have the silverware and the dining room for 8. You need to repair the dishwasher, have a leak, and smell bad. But Tonkawa Terrace is a beautiful place to stay and enjoy vacation time. Wimberley is a beautiful town.
First the good stuff. The home was very spacious. The beds were good and the furnishings were comfortable. There was ample storage for everything we brought. The kitchen was well appointed for the most part. The pool and the firepit looked very inviting. This was the first time I rented a home but I found the service very good. I only needed to call for a couple of issues and the staff person I spoke to walked me through everything. The email communication was just right and easily understood. Now for the not-so-good. The WiFi was only 2G and was very unreliable. We didn't try the TV until the last night and couldn't get it to connect. I had called about not being able to get on the internet and was advised to locate the modem and turn it off and on. While there were ample cooking implements, there were only four dinner plates, so we had to wash dishes after every meal. Probably the most important issue was the fact that we were not told that the road to the house was a heavily washed-out caliche road. Not that we would have passed on the house because of it but it is a major obstacle and should be disclosed. Luckily, we all drive vehicles with higher clearance but it could have been problematic for many sedans or compact cars.
Did not get check in instructions, had to call and text 4 times before someone finally gave me the code, 3.5 hours after check in time. Road to property was terrible, do not take a car that is low to the group.
Overall, we thought the house was great. It was clean, plenty of room for everyone to have a bed and the beds were comfortable. The pool was refreshing, as well. The only downside was that we were able to connect to the wireless router but the router wasn't connected to the internet. We didn't contact anyone about it because we were busy most of the weekend and it wasn't needed, but it is something that should be addressed.
Celebrating 50 years of friendship with my bestfriend along with just about as long high school girl friends.
Pool was nice. Clean and easy to find.
We enjoyed the property very much. It was a perfect size and set up for our group. The step down to the back room was challenging but we managed. LOL! The pool was perfect for whiling away the hours. The road in is as described but doable in a SUV/Truck. The maids should spend a little more time cleaning under the couch.
We were looking for a relaxing weekend getaway with friends and that's exact what we found!!! The house didn't disappoint! And the pool was perfect!!
The property and amenities were great, my biggest complaint is the road leading to the home. The road is TERRIBLE and has gotten worse, we stayed at this property last year and the road was bad then, but after 1 year its much worse. If you drive a car or small SUV your vehicle will have a very hard time on the only road that leads to this property.
This is a great house! The pool is awesome. It's very well shaded and relaxing. The house has some upkeep issues which I shared with the rental company. The main bedroom is very warm even after the rental company provided an extra fan. If staying for several days, you may need some extra supplies like toilet paper, hand towels, laundry detergent. The house is stocked with dishes and cookware, but you'll need your own plastic wear for out by the pool and basic kitchen supplies like oil, spices, foil, etc. Typically when I've stayed in other rentals the kitchen is stocked with these types of items. The rental company is very responsive. I recommend confirming with them when the pool will be cleaned and how long you have to stay out of it. We were not informed and had planned an afternoon in the pool with friends. We had to make alternative plans since the pool was out of commission for several hours. I am sharing this information for others to be prepared. It would not stop us from staying here again!
The set up was perfect for hanging out and entertaining. The pool was amazing and the property allowed for outdoor activities without worrying about the kids safety. Love the privacy too. The only slight problem is master and addition (playroom/bar) next to kitchen were a little warmer but it didn't deter much from the fun. Probably needs a little more lighting outside too. Loved our family getaway and will recommend to family and friends.
The home is an oasis, but the road is a nightmare and horrible. Definitely needs repairs. I’m surprised it hasn’t been rectified.
Everything would have been perfect but the add on section of the house was very warm. Except for the bed and bath it was unusable. A window unit was to be delivered but wasn’t. Ran out of toilet paper and no basic amenities ( like sugar) for coffee bar. We loved the back yard though and would stay here again.
Property was as described. Shaded pool area was a hit with the kids. Road to the house is awful.
We were 3 adults and 3 children under the age of 12. There was plenty of room, the kids were in the pool for hours every day and the adults enjoyed visiting in the pretty back yard with lots of birds, several gray foxes and a herd of deer next door. Wimberley is fun for lunch and browsing. I recommend it for families with children.
Beautiful home! Clean spacious! Wonderful pool and backyard. Only downside was the road leading to the house not meant for low cars.
The pool is amazing. The driveway to the property is horrible. If my husband hadn't been driving our minivan I would have just parked it on the side of the main road. Way too many gouges and was concerned with damaging our under carriage. The house and yard could use some attention. They did send a yard crew to mow when I sent them pics of the high grass. The house has minor things like improper screws on curtains, towel holders so these things kept falling down. Touch up paint in various places is needed and it had a broke bar stool as well as several wobbly dining room chairs. With a little bit of attention from the owners, it could be fixed. The management was attentive and responsive. The pool is absolutely amazing and was perfect for my family.
Exactly as described. Perfect little getaway.
