Cave Creek, Arizona
Our property is modern, southwestern style home on 1.7 acres in the Tonto Hills subdivision. It offers a great 360 degree view of the adjacent Tonto National Forest, the surrounding mountains and the "valley of the sun". At an elevation approximately 2450 ft., the daytime highs are 5--7 degrees cooler than the valley.
The 2700 sq. ft. main house has 2 full bathrooms, three bedrooms and large office which easily converts into a fourth bedroom. The master bedroom has a king bed. The two other bedrooms have queens. The office has a day bed which pulls out into two twins. The 564 sq. ft. pool house has another full bath, two twin beds.. The entire pool /pool house area is surrounded by a 5 ft. tall security fence. There are 3 roomy, comfortable covered flagstone patios framed with imported Castle Rock stone columns, and exposed wood beam ceilings. The main house has two indoor fireplaces and a beehive fireplace on the back patio. The pool house has another indoor fireplace.
The pool is approximately 36 feet long and 20 feet wide. It's depth tapers from 2 feet to 6 feet. The spa can comfortably seat 6 adults. Both can be heated by their own dedicated propane heater. The heaters are supplied by two 120 gallon propane tanks, piped to fuel either one or both heaters. For a variety of reasons, the cost of propane is NOT included in the rental fees and must be purchased separately. The need for propane and its consumption varies with the season and the weather but typically, for a 4-6 day visit during the winter months, one full tank (96 gallons) will heat the spa and the other tank will be needed to heat the pool. Propane costs have historically hovered around $3.00 per gallon plus taxes and fees during the winter but does fluctuate with the market. The tanks are remotely monitored and promptly refilled by the supplier when they reach 30% full. Guests only pay for what they use.
(NOTE- The supplier only fills the tanks to 80% of capacity the winter, 70% in summer, to allow for expansion during the daylight hours. It is called the "Valley of the Sun" for a reason!)
The home was beautiful and was well maintained. The area is very quiet.
House is in a wonderful location, very peaceful with plenty of wildlife to see. We saw different types of birds (including bats and an owl), rabbits, lizards, etc. The house had everything we needed for a weeks stay, and we hope to come back in the future! ?
We enjoyed our stay at this property, especially the swimming pool, ping-pong table. Location is very private. High-end home is well set- up for guests with everything you might need. Host is very reachable and helpful.
Wonderful
Our family loved our stay at this property. The house is beautiful and fully equipped with anything you could have needed. It truly made you feel like you were at home. The property is equally beautiful. Very private and peaceful. Great views and all you could hear were birds chirping. We loved it and would definitely stay there again if returning to the area. Thanks Jeff!
We had a great family stay, 3 couples. The house was very comfortable and spacious and the pool area was great, just wished the weather had bit a bit warmer. The house could use a few updates, but these were minor. Loved the Raven's View wine bar, glad we brought in a chef for our special birthday dinner as this location is a bit remote, but that is also what makes it so peaceful!
Great place
We had such a great time at this beautiful home! Perfect amount of bedrooms and bathrooms for our 3 families to stay. We visited the area for my niece's wedding and my cousins birthday. It was so relaxing, very well stocked kitchen, gorgeous scenery and very quiet location. We could not have asked for a better experience! Jeff the host, is the nicest and called to check on us to see if we needed anything! Very beautiful location in Cave Creek. The perfect high desert experience!
We stayed at Jeff’s house for Christmas. The property is every bit as good as the listing shows, and even better. This was one of the better stocked kitchens that I have seen. The sunrises were beautiful and easily watched from the comfy large recliner. A very well appointed house. We would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful, peaceful property. The host was very helpful and accommodating. Loved our trip, hope to come back again. Thanks for everything Jeff!
First time I had a VRBO. I really enjoyed it and we’ll do it again.
Great property, clean, spacious, great facilities with pool, hot tub, laundry, pong Great beds
We were a group of 6 adult friends staying at this property. There was plenty of room for us, we didn't even use the beds in the pool house. The kitchen was well stocked and we used it quite a bit to prepare meals. We also walked to dinner one evening at Ravens View wine bar, which had great food! We had some trouble figuring out the propane heaters for the pool & hot tub, but Jeff was very accessible to help us out. The views from the property are so beautiful! We loved being out of the city and closer to nature. We did some hiking and horseback riding nearby, and an awesome full moon hike at Pinnacle Peak Park. Highly recommend this property and Jeff as a host.
What a beautiful home to stay with family to celebrate my mother in-laws 80th. Such a beautiful peaceful location. The house and pool house are so comfortable and designed to enjoy. The surrounding area is set up for spectacular views. Nice surprise with fresh farm eggs and a bottle of AZ wine when we checked in. Speaking of checking in super simple and everything is laid out for easy check out.. Jeff is a great host and easy to communicate with. Hope to come back.
My family and I had a wonderful time at this lovely property. Appreciated the well stocked kitchen. Host communication excellent. Don't forget to stop at the little wine place Ravens View down the street, the food is excellent
The property was beautiful and well maintained. Jeff, the owner was a gracious host and made sure that everything was perfect!
My wife I and I stayed at this lovely property for a week in late April, and it was just what the doctor ordered. The location was wonderfully quiet, nicely private in a very friendly neighborhood that is away from the hustle and bustle of Scottsdale and Phoenix. Cave Creek is a welcome 10 degrees or so cooler than Scottsdale and Phoenix, and even on a 100 degree day, the soft breezes on the shade of the secluded porch made for pleasant days and nights, and was a perfect spot to listen to the many birds. The house was more than we needed, and would be perfect for a group. The interior was very clean, up-to-date, and although we took our meals out, had a very nice kitchen. The bed in the master was very comfortable, and the bathroom featured a newer, very nicely done and spacious shower. (the guest bathroom at the opposite end has a more typical shower/bath combo). The poolhouse would provide nice accomodations for a couple as well, and although we never used it, had a quite nice bathroom. The pool itself was detached from the main house, with access from a stone bridge. The pool would be a treat to use, but it was a little cool during our stay (warm days and cool nights chill an uncovered pool) even using the heater overnight. (As the host points out, use of the heater is a separate charge and gas prices this year mean it can add up quickly). Poolside was still a great place to soak up the sun for us! The listing mentions desert creatures in this more natural location, but most importantly we saw no critters or creepy crawlies inside other than an occasional moth. Jeff, our host, was exceptionally attentive, quick to respond to any questions and often reaching out to make sure all is well and offer any help he could to make our stay a good one. I'd definitely recommend this property, and would stay again when in the area (though in warmer weather to enjoy the pool!)
This house is beautiful inside and out! We were a party of six adults, and there was plenty of room to hang out in the living room. We had lots of fun with the ping pong table. The kitchen and pantry were well stocked with everything we needed to cook a few meals in, and there was a nice dining area. Outside, we used the grill and enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. It was nice to have the pool house with an extra full bath to use. The location is great! It's about 25 minutes to Scottsdale, 2 hours to Sedona, and 3 1/2 hours to the Grand Canyon. Jeff was the best host! He's accessible, accommodating, helpful, and truly wants you to have the best time at his house. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it!
