Our first rental was canceled so Vacasa placed us here and so glad they did. Amazing home. Amazing views. Large enough for my entire family to have their own space. Will definitely come back again. Get past the long drive up the mountainside and you are golden.
Pros: Property is beautiful, spacious, quiet, not overly secluded, easy to get to and close to the main attractions of the area. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were big. Place was clean. The layout of the house was different than what you might expect, but that made it fun and interesting! Cons: We only had few issues. None of the fireplaces were working, that was a huge disappointment. There was a power outage in the area and we were without power for a good 10 hours. The property management was obviously not to blame, however, for a place this secluded and large - there were no provisions for such an event. We had no flashlights, lanterns - and since the fireplaces did not work, we were worried about how cold it might get. Power was restored around 10pm, but this could have been bigger problem. Definitely an unneeded stress that could have been easily prepared for. The last issue we had was during the planning. We were given inaccurate information when we asked about certain things being available or not. This inconvenienced us, as we prepared wrong based on the misinformation.
The views were beautiful and the house accommodated our large group. We found many problems, a couple major - refrigerator not working properly, scalding hot water one of the showers that could not be regulated. Most of the other items require some minor maintenance and a little attention would make this place truly amazing. Property manager was contacted and kept apologizing for inconvenience but we had to throw away food and the water temperature is dangerous!
First time that we have taken our summer vacation in the mountains. Beautiful home with some amazaing views from the front windows and some of the side and back windows. As we were at the top of the mountain it was very quiet. We would consider staying here again.
It was a nice big house for our family to be together
We ended up here after Hurricane Ian disrupted our planned beach vacation. Twenty-one of us arrived at the Chateau and immediately felt right at home. The two kitchens had everything you could possibly need to prepare meals and included a double oven, gas cooktop, two refrigerators, a range with an induction cooktop and an Advantium oven. Eating dinners while enjoying the spectacular view from the dining room was a huge plus. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of places to gather in smaller groups or to just quietly relax with a book. There was plenty to do close by including golf, visit the local breweries and take in all that Asheville has to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will be talking about it for years to come.
We had a fabulous trip with friends enjoying the views and space in this huge Chateau. A stocked kitchen for food prep made cooking meals easy. Fire pit and sunsets topped off the days. Game nights were filled with laughter. Multiple rooms to hangout for movies or just be still and read a book. Very close drive to tourist spots! Apple orchards, Biltmore, Lake Lure, Hiking, Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville airport, and Arts and Crafts shopping. The driveway to the top of mountain will take about 3-5 mins. (A locals tip is to put the car in low gear or AWD up/down the mountain). We enjoyed this beautiful place and had space for everyone.
