The neighboring garage unit houses a permanent tenant. However, guests of Nehalem Coastal Oasis are guaranteed full privacy. Only house guests are permitted to use amenities like the BBQ, hot tub, and covered patio area. A privacy fence has been erected between the house and garage for added seclusion.
We very much enjoyed our stay here and it was the perfect secluded place we were looking for. Away from the crowds of Cannon Beach/Seaside etc without being too far away to drive in for a day trip. The house was nice and clean and everything is up to date/modern. Amenities we're exactly as listed. HVAC worked great. There were smart TVs in every room with access to various streaming apps. High speed internet worked perfectly for our needs. Appliances were all in excellent working order, and kitchen was stocked with all cookware/utensils needed. Hottub was clean and we used it every night we were there. Keep in mind, if you stay here you will need to drive out to get anywhere (nothing is within walking distance). A few noteworthy items: The garage apartment will no longer be available as part of this listing as it's being rented out to a long term tenant. For this reason, we wouldn't stay here again as the point for us was looking for privacy. One of the bathroom windows (in the shower) faces the garage apartment which sits uphill from the house. It is not a privacy window - FYI Reported to the management company: The main entry door would not latch shut. The deadbolt had to remain locked at all times to keep the door closed. With two toddlers we had to be extra vigilant to be certain they could not get out. There we're some ants that got into the kitchen through the entry door. We found ant traps in the drawers and once we put one down it seemed to fix the problem.
Very clean and comfortable.
The property was clean and comfortable, in a private location in the mountains. The view is gorgeous! It’s well-equipped and we had everything we needed. The hot tub was a big hit. Like most vacation rentals I’ve stayed at, the beds were a bit hard and the doors don’t latch without effort, but these were minor annoyances. I wish more of the land was walkable—it’s very overgrown, and our toddler could’ve used some more space to play. Pros: TV in every room with Roku, hot tub, nice kitchen, optional extra garage apartment Cons: yard, location (if you want to be near the beach or amenities—it’s about a 10-15 minute drive, not a big deal to us). We would definitely stay here again!
I thought from the on line description that the house itself was 3 bedroom....it wasn't. The 3rd bedroom was in the garage. I also thought that the garage itself was accessible for use, it wasn't. This was a canning trip and use uf the garage would have been great to control the wind. We managed, successfully got our canning done outside. Other than that, the place was pretty great. Not far from the beach and very private. The cleaners did not dust above eye level, the BBQ was not cleaned prior to our arrival.
The place itself was overall good and we had a good time. Some pieces that were missing that would have been helpful is 1. The AC is not in the garage apartment. It’s only in the main house, which made for a more toasty stay in the apartment. 2. There is no reception out there (at least not with any of our carriers), so trying to text that we checked in or ask questions was pointless. I did end up emailing, and that worked, but it was definitely more clunky that way. A note on cleanliness. The main house seemed to be reasonably clean. I wouldn’t say “sparkling”, but it was clean enough. The apartment had, as we named it “the stinkiest trashcan in the whole world” out front, which about knocked us over with stench and flies when we first pulled in. We dragged it very far away, but many of the flies had gotten into the house before we arrived, and I had to kill about 8. A manager did come to address the trashcan later when we notified them about it. The floors in the apartment were not swept, ants were visible in several locations, and I just didn’t get a comfortable feeling about the overall cleanliness. I cloroxed everything before we moved in. We didn’t end up using the hot tub, but it seemed great and was toasty on arrival. The location was great and secluded, but close enough to the beach, and communication was good when we could get it. Overall, it was a good visit, but the AC issue and cleanliness wouldn’t make me want to go again sadly.
I wanted to get away to a quiet spot on acreage. This place was perfect ?.
We loved the house! Everything was Modern and very clearly new! Lots of space, clean, good communication before arrival and during. Our only complaint (and it wasn’t about the house or service of host) was there is zero cell reception. Again, def not something host has control over, I just think it’s important to know as you plan your trip! We could make phone calls or send texts without driving about 10-15 minutes out
Our group of friends had a wonderful stay here! There was plenty of room for all of us and the surrounding views were lovely.
Couldn’t be more perfect! The two houses were ideal for a family and the Jacuzzi and backyard lounge area were great. It was very clean and well decorated and the beds were super comfortable. The location is great for traveling up and down the coast. I definitely recommend this place!
Perfect get away, quite peaceful. We watched the fog roll through, very beautiful. This place doesn’t disappoint. Also, we had instant response from Stephanie the manager with a question. Excellent service
