Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
Night Heron in Sea Pines is a free standing home shaded by towering Long Needle and Loblolly Pines. All landscaping is natural with fan-like Saw Palmettos, Cabbage Palms, and native grasses. Ancient Live Oaks draped with a profusion of Spanish moss serve to add both grandeur and privacy to your surroundings. The home has lots of windows making a bright interior but also make the forest canopy and wildlife a key element of the décor. One bedroom and convertible queen sofa (sleeps 4) One Full Bath, Washer/Dryer, and Hi-Definition Cable TV with High Speed Wi-Fi Internet. One large wrap around porch to enjoy the beautiful surrounding landscape. This is a meticulously cared for home that has just undergone several major improvements. It’s a place where you can relax, put your feet and up, and enjoy. Your vacation will also come at a reasonable cost.
Like the Forest Preserve You'll love Night Heron: Night Heron was one of the first communities to be developed at Sea Pines. Shortly after it was established the founders decided to set aside a vast portion of the resort as a forest preserve. The area they selected was adjacent to Night Heron and as a result the homes here are now virtually part of the 605-acre Sea Pines Forest Preserve. The density of trees and shrubbery also provide natural air conditioning on those hot summer days. You’ll feel as one with nature as you enjoy a beverage on the beautiful wrap around porch and watch the dappled sun fade into darkness, while listening to the teeming wildlife in your back yard lagoon. There is also a private, fresh-water, community swimming pool within a hundred yards of the front door.
Golf: Sea Pines Golf is Legendary: Hilton Head Island is ten miles long and boasts twenty-nine golf courses. Among this dazzling array of choices, The Sea Pines Resort is the most prestigious and well known. It is home to the world famous “Harbourtown Golf Links”, rated #1 in South Carolina, and among the nation’s top 100. Harbourtown, with its famous lighthouse towering over the eighteenth green, has hosted the Heritage Golf Tournament for the past 36 years. A challenge for the likes of Nicklaus, Palmer, and Norman it is but one of three exceptional courses within the resort. You can also experience the new “Heron Point” redesign by Pete Dye with its challenging greens, and emphasis on strategy. The Sea Pines “Ocean Course" is also a favorite of residents and visitors alike. As a guest at “Just Imagine” you’ll be able to make advance reservations to play any, or all three, of the Sea Pines courses.

Great property and perfect for the 2 of us and our dog. This place had everything we needed, pool was close and the beach path was right across the street which was a nice surprise. The bungalow was tucked away from the street within the woods which was so cool! If interested in Coligny, would recommend renting bikes, but it was only a 10-15 ride and you could take the path which made it a nice ride. The listing did not include pictures of the bathroom, but it was somewhat updated and had plenty of space to get ready. Overall, the property was very clean, great location, and very fun. Would stay again for our next trip. Thank you!
Perfect location. Perfect size. Perfect for my pet. All I could ask for. Thanks for the hospitality!
This place met all our needs. Clean, well equipped, with just enough space for the two of us. Close to Harbor Town and Coligny. Near the South Forrest Beach entrance. We would book again.
This cottage has been improved since my first stay last year. It has been refreshed (paint, flooring, deck cleaned, new deck furniture, etc.). The property managers have done a super job with this property.
We are finding that the yurt properties on night heron are going down hill on their upkeep. We have stayed in several 1 bedroom yurts and property 13 was in a sorry state. The flooring in the kitchen area is coming up, the couch is filthy and very uncomfortable. The rugs need to be replaced, If it were my property i would be embarrassed to rent it out. We love hilton head but we will be looking elsewhere for rentals.
I read a review that said they felt like they were in the jungle, not the beach. That is the whole point of Night Heron! The trees, the lagoons, the wildlife, it feels like you are part of nature, in a home, and not in a tourist destination or resort (even though it's both). You can get places like that but not that are also a five minute walk to the beach and so reasonable in price. Mind you, this bungalow is old and not in pristine condition, it has a few cosmetic issues and the floor in the bathroom shows where there was water at some point, and so forth, but it's clean and safe, just cosmetic. I told the property manager a light didn't work and the handyman was there the next day. A ceiling fan is stuck on low but I imagine that is a bigger fix and at least it was spinning! There was a fan beneath the bed that served me just fine. Just what I was looking for!
The property is about 1/2 mile walk to the beach. We were greeted with roaches and ants, owner had the place treated but, it was bad. The place could have been adorable but, it was just plain run down. There was no comfortable place to sit. Things are broken and not fixed. We were very disappointed and strongly recommend you book elsewhere. We gave it 2 stars for location.
Carpet is old and stained, bathroom floor slopes by shower, broken glass all over the parking space , one bulb in vanity didnt work. A tray table for a night stand??? !!!
Great location, great price, excellent place to stay with your dog! My wife, my 8 yr old daughter, and my 11 year old dog, all loved it.
The cottage met expectations of advertisement. Very close and convenient walk to the beach. Had problem with internet service. This was resolved by the property manager almost immediately. They were very responsive. Overall, great stay.
