We stayed here while the kids did summer camp at John C Campbell Folk School. It wasn’t a bad drive to the school. Our lab loved getting to play in the lake everyday. She’s a natural swimmer. Highly recommend for family get away just retreat from the hustle and relax on the porch watching deer, rabbits and squirrels play!
My friend and I arrived to the rental around 8pm on a Thurs night for a quick weekend getaway. Not problem finding the location, good directions, and easy to get into the property. Immediately went to wash hands (covid times!) and found a lack of water in the kitchen and NO hotwater. Unfortunately the host was unable to resolve the hot water issue until mid-day the following day (kitchen water was fixed Thurs night). This was mostly a problem as we were virtually working from the house that Friday and had to attend all meetings un-showered :( Once the hot water was fixed, the rest of the stay was great!
The house had everything we needed. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and a beautiful view of the mountains. A little challenging finding the roadway leading to the house at night, especially, with rain and wet leaves covering the road. Recommend some reflectors for the challenged. A bonus, the grapes from the vines on the property were delicious.
This is a great property, it’s even nicer in person than in the pictures. The house was spotless, well stocked with everything we could need and the air conditioner ran ice cold. View from the front porch is awesome. Host was easy to work with and very responsive. Would definitely stay here again or recommend to others.
Great weekend away. Owner very responsive, easy check in and out.
Thank you for allowing us to stay in this apartment while house hunting. The mountain views from the porch were mesmerizing, especially when the clouds passed by. We also kept a look out for deer, we saw both a fawn and doe, as well as chipmunks, rabbits and groundhogs. And lightning bugs!! What a show! The hosts were very accomodating. Being the first renters, there were a few things lacking, they were provided that day or the next. The beds are super comfortable and the furnishings tasteful. We enjoyed the fishing from their dock, catching trout, and sunfish. We left a few in there. I just enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the water and mountains. There were fresh day lilies and homemade blackberry jam awaiting our arrival, both abundantly grown with love. We hope to return soon. Thank you all for everything.
