Colorado Springs, Colorado
Welcome home (away from home) to this beautifully updated Ranch style home on Templeton Gap! This red brick charmer has 4 large bedrooms with plenty of extra living space! 3 bathrooms! Large Living Room! Formal Dining with enough seating for 6 with additional seating in the kitchen! Living Room and Family room! HUGE lot for running around. This beauty is a must see!
There are lots of shops/restaurants conveniently located. There is plenty of space inside as well. You can see the mountains right from the front porch. A prior review mentioned there were limited plates, but this had been fixed. Unfortunately, I would not stay there again in the summer. When we checked in in late August, the house was very hot inside. It had been shut up and with the windows closed. It smelled a bit “close” and was very uncomfortable. We opened all of the windows, and in the kitchen where there is a ceiling fan, it cooled off nicely. None of the bedrooms had ceiling fans, so they did not get cool. We bought a box fan, and it helped some, but it never really got comfortable. In Colorado Springs it does often cool off in the evenings outside. The house just didn’t. A prior reviewer mentioned a Roku, so we assumed the house had Wi-Fi, and our check in email told us that there was Wi-Fi as well. The Wi-Fi never did work. The host tried to troubleshoot, to no avail. The described amenities, though do not list Wi-Fi. So, if internet is important to you, please double check. Some other quirks. The parking area is seemingly artificial turf. The house also seemed to contain a business in a locked off area, and we did hear some folks outside early in the morning. It sounded like they were possibly picking up supplies. In the winter, if you had the windows closed, you might not hear it, but in the summer, with the windows open we did.
The location was perfect and easy to find and access. Communication was great with host. We didn’t have the best stay we have had with VRBO. The sheets we very thin and no blankets were provided other than lightweight comforters. They also were nylon and at night they were lit up with static electricity, really should be cotton sheets. My kids were freezing in the basement rooms. One of the bathrooms the fan was so loud you couldn’t wait to get out of that bathroom so we really could not use. Also the kitchen was not well equipped. There were only 4 place settings of dishes, we have 5 in our party and the house says it sleeps 9 I believe. The quality of the dishes were great and nice brand new pots and pans , but no mixing bowls. We are used to a much better equipped kitchen from VRBO hosts. The coffee pot was great and they provided coffee which was a nice touch. They provided ROKU device but we had to get it out of box and hook up. Typically we would just need to log in. So now it’s all ready for the next guest. The couches are ackward and it was hard to relax and just watch a movie at night with the kids in the main room upstairs. Overall it served our purpose , just wasn’t super comfortable and was hard to relax at.
