Lovely, comfortable home and a seriously great host. Would love to return sometime.
This was the perfect spot for us to spend a few days with our adult children who live in NY City. The home is very comfortable with a cozy upscale cabin feeling and the grounds were beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked and we appreciated the welcome basket that included coffee, wine and snacks. Also, the hosts were very responsive to questions. We really enjoyed our visit and hope to return again!
We spent two wonderful weeks here. The house was spotless when we checked in - a huge plus in these Covid times. Owner was very available and responsive. It’s very comfortable inside and out, good location and we were able to visit Art Omi, The Clark, Mass MoCA, Ooms Conservation, Bash Bish Falls, etc. Great hiking and a wonderful place to come back to at the end of the day and enjoy a glass of wine around the fire pit. I’m an amateur chef and the kitchen was easily adaptable (I did bring my knife sharpener ?). The lighting is a bit quirky but keep on trying and it all works out. Can’t wait to come back!
Located on a quite road but close to many activities like hiking and bike trails. Great farmers market on Saturdays in nearby Hillsdale. Layout has plenty of room for social distancing if needed.
This is beautiful, well appointed cabin that feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere without being too far from things. Loved the stay. The only issue I had was there was a major power outage and there was very little communication from the manager. I reached out multiple times to alert her of the issues and was only offered candles and a flashlight. She neglected to mention that the water would run out shortly and make flushing toilets, cleaning and showering impossible. I had forgotten the house was probably on well water and could have used a reminder that the water pressure would quickly shut off with the power. I’d imagine many renters who’ve never dealt with wells would be totally clueless. The grill also ran out of propane so I couldn’t cook hot food at all. I’d like to recommend that much like the neighbor who was humming away with full power, that the owners think seriously about a generator for the house. If the power had not gone out on my last full day (it never came back while I was there) I would have had a much worse time.
I cannot say enough positive things about our 5 night stay at this property. It was everything we wanted for our family, including space, solitude, beauty, vibe and amenities. The beds were maybe the most comfortable beds we've ever had at a rental property anywhere in the world we've stayed. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean and adequately equipped. The Sonos speaker system allowed us to play music whenever and wherever we wanted. The space was absolutely beautiful with so much natural light and a variety of outdoor spaces, including an awesome fire pit and playground. Kelly was not only extremely responsive, but also helped us out by supplying some baby equipment for our one-year-old including a Pack-n-Play and chair for meals. The location was perfect for it's solitude, but within 15-25 minutes of so many towns and attractions for short day trips. We went someplace different every day. This was by far the best rental we've booked, and would do it again in a heartbeat. Only small bit of feedback is some kitchen amenities that would have been nice like sheet pans for roasting or baking, measuring cups/spoons, wisk, etc. We were able to manage just fine, though.
Can’t praise this place highly enough. 5 of us stayed to attend a nearby wedding. The cabin is in a stunning woodland setting with ample space for 6, with amenities for young children if needed. The beautiful home feels loved by its owners, a real home from home. Comfy beds, fresh linens, great communication from the owners with help on local tips. We wished we could stay longer, thank you.
