very good the chef excellent l like it ?????????
The house was beautiful although there were some deferred maintenance issues which did not affect our enjoyment of the property. The view and sunsets were incredible. The check in process was confusing. For some reason they were under the impression that we were arriving at 8:00 pm when we received an email stating that the house would be available at 4:00 pm. They seemed to be quite angry about this. We never received a tour of the property although we asked this. On the other hand Randy did a great job handing the van service as the incoming flights were constantly changing due to weather issues. Patricia showed up reliably and she kept the place clean and was a delight to have around. She was always asking if she could do anything for us. Some of us had mosquito issues and the water seemed to be brackish as it was difficult to lather up with soap. . Overall we loved the place and it was a very good value for the money. It was a perfect location for a family reunion.
Location and house is incredible, spectacular view and neighborhood. Close to the beach and restaurants. Great for families. The food prepared was incredible. However not all linens and towels were clean. Sand was found on some beds, towels were smelling horrible. The house was dirty especially the showers. The house needs maintenance and cleaning above all, even the glasses smell bad. It's a shame because the attention and the place is incredible.
The place was beautiful, clean, and Patricia offered wonderful service. It was also great to be able to get Daniel's team to cook, and easy to get some massage sessions and advice and reservations for touristic activities through Jacques. Isabelle, the owner was also very responsive. This was a wonderful vacation, and we would go back to Casa Kala Kala in a heartbeat!
Family stayed at this beautiful home for seven days. The food, views, amenities, and location are wonderful. We had a fabulous vacation! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!!❤️❤️❤️
We had a wonderful time at Casa Kala Kala. The location is lovely and the house is very comfortable and was perfect for our family of 11 (8 adults and 3 teens). Breakfasts prepared by Patricia were the best! Communication with the owner (Isabelle) and manager (Jacques) was always easy, timely, and useful. We’ll definitely be back!
This place was a perfect getaway for my family and I. The fact that 3 of the bedrooms were separated from the main house was perfect. They were still all close together but also provided privacy. Our morning breakfasts were so beautiful with the beautiful panoramic view. At night we watched the moon from the front steps of the house and the amazing sunset from the Pool area of the house. It was perfect. Chef Daniel and Patricia were amazing. (Please ask for the Fried fish with passion fruit sauce...it was out of this world!!!) Patricia helped us everyday with chopping amazing fruits for breakfast and helped us keep the house nice and tidy for our stay. Chef Daniel always had great ideas of food and we enjoyed every meal. We had my dad (76 years old ) and my aunt (88 years old) with us on this trip and they enjoyed their stay as well...it was easy for them to walk around the house and whenever we wanted to go to town we would just take a quick drive or call a cab. We also went with 2 children..one 7 years old and the other 9. Both children are swimmers and they never left the pool. The beach is also about a 15 min walk down a path (Just ask anyone....everyone is very nice within the community) The beaches are beautiful all around the area. This is a beach house and it is well taken care of .Hope to go back and visit soon. Many blessings to the owners :)
Good
The property is gorgeous and the pictures are accurate. The staff was attentive and very responsive. The chef meals were the absolute highlight 5-star restaurant quality. It was lovely to sit down w the staff and take a lot of time to plan our meals. Recommendations: rent a car or arrange for local taxi service — the local supermarket is awesome but a hike. Same for the town shops and beaches. Recommend finding a local taxi driver — arranging through the property is more expensive. As for supermarket, much more convenient to stock up as needed than to send the chefs/communicate through middle man for snacks. The beach is a hike too. The property is on the top of a HUGE hill, hence the breathtaking views. But the walk to the beach is not convenient or doable for the very young/old or for hauling stuff. Also key — bring mosquito nets for the kids room at least. It’s all open air and next to the bathroom, which is naturally damp. The mosquitoes can be oppressive. And unfortunately the pool was a no go for those w sensitive skin (applied to our kids). Not sure if it was differences in water or what but it was a bummer. The host was lovely though and gave us a credit. Overall, lovely, paradise, but a little more adventurous than a typical resort (in a negative and positive way).
The house was as described. The host was great to work with, the staff was great !!! Will definitely be returning !!!
Our family was very happy with our stay at Casa Kala Kala. So happy that we've already booked again for 2020. Highlights include: Patricia's breakfasts, incredible sunrise and sunsets, and the wonderful layout of the property. We rented ATV's from the bottom of the hill to get the matriarch (85 year old grandmother) back and forth to the beach and restaurants. That worked perfectly for her, the rest of us enjoyed the short walk (13 minutes to the beach). We had a group of 13 family members from age 22 to 85, and everyone was very happy at Villa Kala Kala. Our favorite group area was outside on the patio by the pool and at the dining table where we played many games. The TV came in handy one night - when we were able to get a play-off football game which made the sporty part of our group happy. Daniel and his crew provided many wonderful meals for us. It was so nice to enjoy the whole day, and not have to worry about dinner and cleaning up the kitchen. His crew was fabulous. Edoardo, our local contact, was always available when we had a question, and he arranged the shuttle vans to and from Santo Domingo airport seamlessly. I found that taking the US Dollar was helpful - as everyone seemed to want Cash for everything (meals by daniel, ATVs, shuttle etc). So bring cash, or get ready to hit the ATM frequently - but the ATMs only let you take out $10,000 pesos per day - which is roughly $200. We loved this very beautiful, and special home so much that we can't wait to come back in 2020.
