Port Saint Joe, Florida
Experience "old Florida" at its best: pristine beach with sugar-white sand, loggerhead turtle nests, dolphins, and exotic birds in your front yard. Walk one-quarter mile on a beautiful boardwalk to the WindMark Beach Village Center. The cottage is recently renovated, with a gourmet kitchen, oversized corner soaking tub, Sony Bravia TV, and fully furnished. You need only bring your clothes! You can fish, walk the beach, or watch the dolphins all from your front yard. Sit under the 90-year-old oak trees (The Grand Dames) that shade the house and watch the woodpeckers, bald eagles, and other exotic birds from the screened front porch. Enjoy the pink-orange sunsets and see the stars as you have never seen them before. Watch the moon set on the bay.
The house has one bedroom (a second room functions as Owner's closet), one full bath, and one powder room. Master bedroom has a queen-size bed and two closets, and features a large, corner soaking tub.The front of the house is a great room, with a dining table for eight, living room seating for six, and designer furniture and accessories.
Kitchen amenities include a Bosch dishwasher, Jennair duel fuel range, and refrigerator with ice maker and exterior water feature.
Australian cypress flooring extends throughout the house. Washer and dryer are in the utility room at the covered carport.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets.
Keywords: An Old-Florida-style beach bungalow just steps from beautiful St. Joseph Bay. See shrimp boats and dolphins from the living room window and sunsets that last for hours. Loggerhead turtles nest on the sugar-white sand. Peaceful and exquisite.
Our 2 week stay in March was so vibrant and uplifting after a long, cold Northern winter; we left feeling refreshed and energized! The house is everything as described with a well-equipped kitchen (thanks Mary for the crockpot), laundry facilities, full-screened porch perfect for morning coffee and a book, and a practical room layout. We rented bikes for riding into the Windmark development and stretch of abandoned hwy. 98, but mostly enjoyed the quietness of daily beach walking! A different experience every day! Mexico Beach, Cape San Blas, Port St. Joe and Apalachicola provide plenty of outside diversions. We were thrilled to accidently find a Blues Fest and En Plein Art Experience in Port St. Joe during our stay. Thanks for a lovely vacation house & stay!
Love coming back to the cottage and the area. The cottage is always immaculate and the location is perfect for a couples getaway. The beach in front of the cottage is gorgeous and the local dining options are numerous and varied. Always sad to leave and anxious to come back next year.
This was our second stay at the cottage and it was just as wonderful as last year. Absolutely love sitting on the screened in porch at sunset. Very quiet and uninhabited, often felt we had the entire beach to ourselves. Cottage has everything needed for meal prep and cooking. Also blessed with wonderfully warm weather.
The house was great , everything you could need was provided . Very quite. Didn’t see a handful of people while we walked on the beach . We saw dolphins swimming on our last day there.
We loved the location of this property just across from Windmark Beach. This house is perfect size for a couple and I loved all the windows and the screened porch to watch all the birds and sunsets. We so enjoyed watching and hearing the owl family in the pines that are beside the house. We did have one issue with the bed which was solved, but otherwise we loved our 2 wk stay.
The weather was cold with 30s at night and 50s most of the 8 days, but the house was a warm zone and when the sun was out we enjoyed some warmth on the side deck. We had a Great Horned owl serenade us nightly and say pelicans, eagles, a variety of shore birds and song birds. Bob and Mary were always available for any issues like a slow draining bathtub. This was our 2nd visit and we were pleased to see the recovery from Hurricane Michael. A great location and nice cottage for two people to relax.
This lovely cottage style home was thoughtfully renovated as described, and absolutely sparkling clean and neat. Kitchen was well equipped. Extra touches (beach equipment available, extra towels, books, games) were just right. Beach access was amazing, literally a few steps across the street, with a bench on the beach where we enjoyed sunset cocktails every evening. Or you could enjoy the view directly from the front porch. If you need supplies or want to eat out, many options are locally available and a helpful, detailed guide was provided by the hosts. Our January/February stay meant only walking on the beach, not swimming, but a beautiful quiet time to be there. Thank you for a great stay!
Our stay was everything we expected. This was my third stay at your cottage. I'm gonna miss it. Jeff
Was everything we were expecting and then some. The quiet location was enhanced by the views of the Gulf, the ease of getting to the beach and the comfortable surroundings of the cottage. It was easy to make meals. We didn’t use the corner tub. It would have been nice to have a chair in the bedroom for easier dressing. We would love to return in the future. The owls hooting outside were a added bonus!
This amazing bungalow allowed us the perfect spot to unwind and de-stress from a crazy 2021! The house itself permeates a zen-like atmosphere which provides an uplifting and delightful experience! The kitchen was extremely well equipped, the front porch was the perfect place for morning coffee, the soaker tub was an amazing treat, and the queen-size bed was quite comfy. Although we didn't have time to try out the kayak, we did make a point to spend time on the sugar sandy beach nightly to watch those mesmerizing sunsets!!! Kevin and I will most certainly be back to this peaceful pearl of Port St. Joe.
