Amazing house, amazing views. Definitely a hike to get to town. Yan was an amazing driver. One downside is the lower bedrooms are a bit damp smelling. Great house for a large group.
We loved the location and the view of the town Very quite property with a great layout for a group.
We really enjoyed our time here. Lucy was great to communicate with and the property was really nice. Wifi was pretty spotty, but who cares when you're in paradise. Hope to return someday!
The house was huge and made our large group very comfortable. If you like beige and brown then the color scheme of the house will more than please you. Any problems that came up were immediately handled by Lucy and her charming family, and we can't say enough about how friendly and polite the St. Lucians were to all of us. The house is all by itself near the top of a very high hill which meant walking to and from town was an immense problem for getting groceries or going to the beach...but we had a great driver, Yan who was always available to pick us up. If you are looking for a quiet time, great sunsets and quaint towns then this is the house for you. And if you are looking for great restaurants, luxury shops and busy crowds then this location is not for you. But as a woman said to me while waiting in line for customs when we arrived, I'm just glad to be here.
Beautiful home, scenic location with large bedrooms. You will need transportation. It’s easy to arrange a driver if you don’t want to worry about driving which is what we did for our group,of 10 and it worked out really well. The 2 dogs on the property were awesome and sweet. Happy to tag along on a hike up the hill or sit and cuddle. We loved having the 2 pups around. Be forewarned that the water is solar heated so a warm shower is not likely. We probably had 1 warm shower each over the week and it didn’t really seem to matter what time of day you showered. If you’re looking for an excursion, we used Mystic Man in Souffriene for a catamaran tour and deep sea fishing. (About a 45 minute drive from the house). They were terrific. We would highly recommend it and if going back, I would rent again.
Our Christmas stay at the Villa was fantastic for our extended family of 13. Although the 5-story layout is a bit unusual and involves a lot of outside stairs to get from one level to the next (the bedrooms are on 4 different levels) and was a bit tricky when raining, the accommodations were very comfortable and provided privacy for everyone -- as well as plenty of space for family gatherings. Being on the southern end of the island gave us easy access to the many attractions located near Soufriere, as well as an easy drive to Castries and Rodney Bay. It was also great to have the airport and Massey's supermarket nearby. The only negative to the property was the access road in the development itself. It was very rough and made coming and going a bit of a challenge, particularly after a couple of heavy rains. However, the villa, with its beautiful views, including daily rainbows over the valley below the villa, more than made up for the bumpy ride! We all had a great time and would highly recommend La Gampierre to anyone who is wanting a quiet, secluded, and lovely place to stay while enjoying the beautiful island of St. Lucia!
Our stay at La Gampierre was wonderful experience that helped create memories that will last a lifetime. The property is incredible, quite, comfortable with unbelievable views. The master suite (top floor) is something you must see to believe, it far surpassed our expectations. The house had everything you could ask for and so much more. We woke up each morning to the Blue Caribbean sea, we would drink our coffee watching the relaxing view. We toured and explored the island during the day and relaxed by the pool in the evenings. St. Lucia is a dream island with friendly people and incredible sights. One of the high points of the trip was when Lucy (the property manager) and her family took us to a secluded beach and cooked lunch for us. The venture etched memories that will last forever and created a wish to soon return. We traveled to several different beaches but the best was Sugar Beach, we chilled drinking refreshments, enjoyed the unbelievable scenery and snorkeled all day. We had another great day traveling to Marigot Bay and greatly enjoyed the Rum tour. Another day we drove to Castries where we explored the islands' largest city. A couple of days we would relax and catch ray's by the pool. Occasionally at dinner we would hire, though Lucy, some cooks that would come over and prepare dinner. The home itself was quite, comfortable and completely secure. They have 24/7 security just outside. Overall, I cannot imagine a more luxurious place to stay nor a more perfect setting for our most memorable vacation. We would enthusiastically recommend to anyone looking for that special place to create the memories for a life time.
We spent 10 amazing days here in St. Lucia. The accommodations were amazing and we could not have had a better stay. Gibbs and Lucy the caretakers were both super helpful and gracious. Lucy met us at the airport with her sweet smile and then passed us along to Gibbs for our ride to La Gampierre. We got a history of the island which was very interesting. Gibbs is a wealth of information! . We had an awesome day out on their boat; they cooked dinner for us one night at the house, and helped make arrangements for various excursions. The security team was great and they were all very nice and friendly. Africa brought us several treats during the week. We really enjoyed the pool, amazing view, and sunsets. We ventured out to the Diamond Botanical Gardens and Waterfall ate at Petit Peaks in Soufriere, we also visited Sugar Beach and several other local beach bars. If you’re interested in diving, go see Chester in Soufriere at Action Adventure Divers. He's fun, nice and the dive was great plus we came home with a huge bag of lion fish for dinner. The people here are so friendly and really seemed concerned about us having good time during our stay. We really hate to leave and cannot wait to visit again. The villa is large! We had six people staying for one week and there was plenty of room for all of us. The set up of the house over multiple levels means some stairs are necessary but it also provided privacy between guests rooms when chill time was needed. The upstairs master suite is huge and feels like a luxury hotel. The owner, Mark, was easy to communicate with and was timely in answering any questions. The property managers, Lucy and Gibbs, went out of their way to accomodate us. They met us at the airport, found a local chef to cook for us, and even picked up and delivered live lobsters for a cook out on the last day of lobster season. The house, owner, and Lucy and Gibbs all provided us with a great experience. We will return!
