Nauvoo, Illinois
Come sleep in history! The Nauvoo Manor affords you the opportunity to stay in a Nauvoo Mormon Pioneer home! This historic home is just seven blocks from the temple and sleeps up to nine comfortably.
One of only a few Nauvoo red brick Pioneer homes not owned by The LDS church. The Manor is located next to the historic road to Carthage.
Rufus Abbott started building this home in 1839 and finished it in 1845 just before his family left with Brigham Young to travel to Salt Lake City in February 1846.
As an authentic Nauvoo red brick pioneer home, this home will give you the experience of Nauvoo and let you live where the pioneers lived. You will experience the history you learned about at the church restoration sites down on the flats. A unique and special opportunity indeed!

Enjoyed stay
This is a beautiful home on the edge of Nauvoo. The area was quiet and peaceful with a beautiful sunrise. I would encourage anyone who will be in the Nauvoo area to consider this home
We had a great time and my children loved staying in this period appropriate house.
The ambiance of the home was excellent. The decor was well thought out and really had the flavor of old Nauvoo. Two of the bedrooms are upstairs and the upstairs bathroom is part of the master bedroom. The home had excellent wifi and that was greatly appreciated. We really enjoyed the pioneer feeling other than staying in a motel.
It was a fun stay to mix things up during our travels.
The home was welcoming and fully functional. Great experience.
This is a nice historic home and the owner has it decorated very nicely. The bathrooms have been upgraded. The upstairs bathroom is on the small side but functional. The main floor bathroom is spacious and nicely updated. As with all historic homes there can be some quirkiness. The main thing with this home are the short stairs leading to the upstairs. They won't be a problem for people that don't have a problem going up and down stairs but they may be problematic if you are unsteady on stairs. My older parents were with me and they just took the bedroom on the main floor and everyone did fine. This is pretty typical in older homes in the area. The location was good with an open field behind the house. The owner was helpful. I would stay here again.
Our family loved our stay in this pioneer era red brick home. It was very comfortable and has everything we needed. We highly recommend it.
