We were a large multigenerational family group. We were able to enjoy our time together comfortably. Close to Apex resort for skiing. Much appreciated.

We picked Marleen’s place to house us and our friends during our wedding weekend. Looking at the photos, I was skeptical that it would actually sleep as many as we had, but it does in fact sleep 20. We had more than enough space. It was great having everyone together before and after our ceremony. The place was very tidy, had everything we needed and more! I would definitely recommend staying on this lovely piece of property!

Loved our stay at Surprise Ranch. Beds were very comfortable. Everything we needed was provided and clearly communicated. We saw wild sheep and two bears on the mountainside - and lots of cows. We’d love to come again.

The property was exactly as described. Very large for our group of 10 with lots of great view and light. Marlene was a great host and was very always on top of communication.

We loved the place and location as it was secluded and quiet. The house was large and updates were beautiful! Loved the big windows and views of the mountains from the hot tub!

Our family group of 13 from 6 to 85 experienced a beautiful, snowy week at Christmas in this picturesque and quiet ranch house. The property is spacious and nicely updated. It is adorned with thoughtful sayings that read like a playbook to a life well lived and provided the backdrop to a most memorable family gathering. The accommodations and scenery were enough to warrant a 5/5 review but it was our experience with the hosts that made the trip even more unforgettable. Amidst historic floods, road closures and an untimely winter storm, Marlene provided support above and beyond any expectations to make our holiday plans a reality and help us arrive at the house lit up with Christmas lights and a 9ft tree on time. We couldn't possibly say thank you enough to Marlene and family. They are good people!

The house was very nice. We all enjoyed it. It was a little further out from Penticton than what we would have liked. The ad stating that it sleeps 20 is mis-leading as there are only beds for 18. A pull out bed or renovated utility room with an additional bedroom would have been great for our group of 19. It was a hot week and the AC struggled to keep the upper level master bedroom cool. Overall we enjoyed the time with family. Got to see some of the local animals (deer and bear).
