Older home in the middle of the woods but close to stores and restaurants. Reminds me of my families farm house. Has everything we needed and plenty of room for our 3 families.
Great location and size for our family of six! Huge front porch was beautiful to sit on and let the dogs play. Enjoyed visiting Saluda’s downtown shops and Saturdays winter market.
The original booking was painfully difficult….. and too difficult to explain by writing
The house has 2 BR upstairs and 2 BR downstairs offering opportunity for quiet time with a large group. Even though it's surrounded by homes in the neighborhood, it feels secluded.
We enjoyed our get together with kids and grandchildren.
Awesome little mountain town
The bedrooms were very nice and comfortable. Nice layout- kitchen nicely stocked, Generally the house was comfortable but dated. Some of our family decided to stay in a motel instead of the house but they were being picky. So we had less people stay then what we had listed for her. I thought the bedrooms were nice. Outside needs some tender loving care - paint, replace outside furniture. Broken unsafe dining room chairs and recliner. The kitchen floor had been cleaned with the wrong product so was very sticky I had to wash it. as soon as I got there (no big deal , not owners fault but cleaners) the porch had tattered ancient pendants, tattered outdoor furniture and tattered moldy covers to grill (we decided not to use it:(. No inviting white rockers like in photos. The swing in the picture was in a mud hole but it was winter I am sure it looks nicer in Spring. Ceiling downstairs showed evidence of long term leak (missing - and stained tiles)which started leaking again about a day before we left so we moved mattress she had down there out of way kept floor wiped up but this made her mad, We did not report it til we left and she was mad we moved the mattress thought we had used the mattress. It was not leaking when we left floor dry - upstairs shower related - I think - Location was nice!! Owner called within short time after we left and said we had left graffiti on walls and was mad we had not reported a leak sooner - If we were closer we would have gone back to see what grafitti she said had been done - I was and am in shock at her accusations. We did break the one towel rule - I forgot - So we did leave her with a lot of towels which when she pointed out as I am driving home - she was irrate ( I told her I would have been too if I had found grafitti on the walls????). I offered to pay for the extra time the cleaners spent on towels. That was very very inconsiderate of us. I cannot apologize enough I usually wash all that stuff even when not required. I shall remain grateful to her for renting her house to us - so we could together as a family to welcome a new and unexpected child to our family and spend New Years together during a pandemic. I have avoided writing this review. I want to stick with the good memory. I checked everything before we left she said graffiti was small and behind something so I guess if it was there I missed it. If it is true I am horrified one of my grandkids did such a thing and told her there will be consquences.
As always, we had a wonderful stay at Teri’s home. She had flowers waiting for us and they were a welcoming touch. My daughter and our dogs were able to relax before she starts chemo. The house is so comfy and spacious, along with the wonderful location to downtown Saluda. Thank you Teri! We had a wonderful getaway and will definitely rent again. Highly recommend.
Teri's property was a delight to stay in! Family flew out from all over the US for my brother's wedding and 9 of us easily fit into the house. The big dining room table was a perfect location for all of us to gather with our coffee and catch up after not having seen each other for some time. My only recommendation is putting large numbers on the house so it is clear that the house is number 30, otherwise if you are arriving after dark (even in the day) it can be a bit confusing.
The house is very spacious and clean, with most kitchen needs well stocked. It is very easy to relax here. This, and the location near everything gave us lots of flexibility for meals (eat in or out), hanging out, or going on outings. We could walk or bike into town for a coffee or to do some browsing of the shops (hours do vary a bit). The food is incredibly good everywhere. Right in Saluda is The Gorge Zipline and Green River Rafting, and Asheville is about 40 minutes away, where we explored one day, and went to the Biltmore another day. A day or two driving in the mountains allowed us to enjoy the mountains with hikes to waterfalls and swimming holes, and we topped off the trip to one of the best ever meals at the Purple Onion in town. Weather app showed rain every day, but storms were quick, and not even accurate every day. Dogs can go many places in Saluda and in Asheville. Teri was extremely responsive, helpful, and friendly in all our communications. We met a neighbor who used to rent the house from her regularly who also spoke highly of her. With three teenage daughters, all of this flexibility and variety and outdoor recreation has made this one of our very best vacations. We would love to come back soon!
Teri was so friendly and responsive when communicating about the home. It is well maintained and cared for, it has a lot of space to sleep a large family. The house was so comfy and clean and nestled back in the trees. We loved the privacy along with the prime location to downtown Saluda. We had a wonderful stay!!! Thank you Teri! We would absolutely rent again!
