Lovely house and neighborhood. Unfortunately left with a bad feeling because when we added one night (for the same number of people and rooms) to the original rental, the owner nearly doubled the cost for one night. According to VRBO, they cannot stop owners from jacking up the price for additional nights. Just not the kind of people I like to deal with. In addition, when I questioned the cost, I was given a quick nonsensical response. The other complaint we had - and this was mentioned by others - is that all of the beds (except bunks) made a very loud creaking noise every time you moved, even a little, at night. The slats really need to be replaced. There was also a chime going off during the night and when I asked about it, I received a very unhelpful response. We finally figured it out - a plug in door bell that had to be unplugged. It really is a lovely house in a good location but not the kind of person I want to deal with.
This house was clean and had plenty of seating for the 12 people we had there. We had a great time and will likely book for next year!
Great family home located convenient to Downtown near ballpark with easy access to Duke East Campus and Ninth Street restaurants and grocery stores (including Whole Foods and Harris Teeter). House was modern, clean, and well appointed. Plenty of room for our family of five to spread out and relax. Trailhead for American Tobacco Trail a short walk from home. Host was very responsive to the few questions we had while staying.
My friends and I came to visit Durham for a 5-year college reunion. The home had everything we were looking for: clean spacious rooms, bathrooms and kitchens, with a sufficiently sized backyard to enjoy the sun. Mital was easy to communicate with and was quick to respond. No hiccups whatsoever on our end. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. 100% would recommend.
We had a reunion of friends at the property and enjoyed our stay tremendously. The house was well decorated, clean, spacious, and yet cozy. It was within walking distance of a public park and the Tobacco Trail. I had a few questions for the owner during our stay and these were answered very quickly through the VRBO app. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
The house was beautiful and even bigger than expected. It was the perfect space for our group to get ready for a wedding and very close to the venue in downtown Durham.
Stayed with my large extended family and the house worked great. Clearly new everything. I would have appreciated more flexibility when I asked for late check-out.
We were in town to attend a memorial service and could not have picked a better home. This place was fantastic. Very, spacious, clean and a stylish place with everything we needed to feel like home. The kitchen was a chefs' dream, the bedrooms were inviting and very comfortable. Mital the host was amazing! he was very accommodating and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!
Have 14 family members come and go while family member was at Duke Hospital. Home was well maintained. Excellent way to go when needing to stay in Durham for several day.
The house is very spacious. Very nice kitchen and living room open concept. Easy access when checking in and the check out instructions were very direct and easy to complete. The house is in a decent neighborhood, but right next door to a less than inviting home. There were bars on the windows and people visiting at all hours, which I did not like and neither did my guests. The ceiling fans remotes were not in the home and in turn they did not work. I contacted the property manager for clarification on how to turn the fans on, and I received a response but not a solution. The AC unit had a permanent hold on it initially at 70 degrees which made the house fairly warm for a weekend in the summer. I contacted the property manager and the temporary hold disappeared. There was hair on the floor in the living room, bathrooms, and bedrooms. There were used q tips in the cabinet of the downstairs bathroom that had not been cleaned out. The beds were very hard and was uncomfortable for a nights sleep. The master has two beds, which I did not like, nor did my wife. Overall the home is very nice on the inside and is at a good location. Very convenient to downtown. Would not stay here again.
