Albuquerque, New Mexico
This adobe house was lovingly redone by us to be the office of our puppet and object theatre. (Our workshop is east of the house.) We've moved our office and now offer the house to travelers. The house is modest outside and interestingly contemporary inside. In the spring and summer, there are lilacs, roses, peaches, apples and grapes (100+ year old vine) growing around the property.
Please note: the cooling system is central evaporative cooling, not refrigerated air. This system is widely used in New Mexico, where the climate is dry.
The house has two bedrooms, with a queen bed in one and a twin bed in the second bedroom. Futon possibility in the living room. Sleeps 3-4 comfortably. There is lots of light and gorgeous hard wood floors.
Easy access to downtown, major freeways (I-25 and I-40), public transportation, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Old Town, museums, the Nature Center and the Albuquerque Bio Park and Botanic Garden and La Montanita Organic Food Co-op.
The house has welcomed friends from around the world and is ready for the next guests. Your two hosts, who live three miles away, speak French, German, Spanish and English.
There's a small library that includes art and puppetry books, and good coffee and tea in the breakfast area of the house.
There's an organic food co-op and a vegetarian restaurant both within 7 minutes by car. And other good restaurants including farm to table fresh cuisine. And the train stations to catch the local Rail Runner to Santa Fe are super close.
We are happy to share our knowledge of the area, if you desire!
We loved it! The house is adorable and comfortable! Our host was outstanding! The neighborhood could of been better but we felt safe! We would stay again!
We loved our stay! The location is safe, convenient, and quiet. Super easy access to Old Town, downtown Albuquerque and the Balloon Fiesta. The nicely decorated home had everything we needed for the bedroom(s), bath, and kitchen. Loren adds special touch's that are welcoming to this very clean and comfortable home. She is very accommodating and readily available and an excellent host! We cherish the friendship of Loren and Isabelle.
Clean, tidy, your needs are met in all rooms they covered all the bases. Very friendly people I would highly recommend them… we will stay again
Thank you again for the extremely lovely stay!! We always love your thoughtful touches, like the beautiful fresh flowers, variety of staple foods, cookies, and delicious oranges! A most comfortable, clean, centrally located and wonderfully appointed adobe home. We continue to enjoy Loren & Isabelle's warm hospitality and friendship. Peace to you, our friends.
We love staying in this cute, comfortable little adobe home. We've been so fortunate that its been available to rent a second time for us. The house is very clean and we appreciated all the extra touches like the fresh flowers and basic grocery items provided upon our arrival. Loren is quick to respond to any questions or concerns. She is so helpful with great places to eat, awesome bakeries, and attractions in the area. We feel safe here and like the location. We are very pleased and grateful with our stay!
The only downfall was no T.V.
My husband and I lived in this house for 3 months while transitioning into New Mexico. There is off street parking for 2 cars. The doors lock securely and there are grates on the windows so you can leave them open at night and still be safe. The internet was flawless and fast. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other has a XL twin. Both rooms have closet space and either a desk or a table to work from. The clawfoot tub in the bathroom has a surround shower curtain and suspended shower head . Water is good quality for washing and the owner provides PUR filters for use at the kitchen sink. The kitchen is spacious and has an under counter fridge freezer combo unit, a 2 burner cooktop, a microwave and a countertop oven large enough to cook 2 whole chickens at once. All utensils, dishes and cookware are provided. In the back of the house there is a large open space for storage. We were able to house our bicycles there along with some large plants that loved living under the skylight. The owner, Loren, comes by daily to water the flower and vegetable plants on the property. She is very engaging, a wealth of information for all things local. The house is in an urban mixed use area so expect urban sounds of life with convenient access to I-40 and I-25.
We truly loved staying in Loren and Isabelle's cute adobe home during the Balloon Fiesta! They were wonderful host and their home was supplied with all of the necessary kitchen essentials and to include extra bedding, blankets, and towels. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. They take great pride in making sure their guests stay is pleasant since everything was neat and clean. Loren was exceptionally prompt in all correspondence and I truly appreciated her readiness. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Beautiful and extremely well-appointed home. Very comfortable and spacious with superb attention to detail in all respects. Convenient location for downtown, university, and airport. Considerate and responsible hosts. Highly recommended.

The neighborhood was quiet and close to shopping. Delicious bakery just up the road. Definitely will stay again on our next visit to Albuquerque.
