Arrive on the island of Cayo Costa with your boat or hire a water taxi. Free dockage available at our private dock within 500 ft of the house. A 4-Seater Club Car (golf cart) awaits to transport you to your vacation home.
Walk or ride throughout the sandy paths of one of the last remaining undeveloped coastal barrier islands between Boca Grande and North Captiva. Seven miles of quiet gulf beach known for shelling, fishing and turtle hatching is only a 10 minute stroll from the home.
Eagles and Ospreys are sited daily. Shore birds abound. Miles of sandy paths will allow you to experience seven biodomes ranging from thick jungle to dune grasses. Gofer tortoises and reptiles are among the island residents. Sea turtles nest on the beach starting in May.
The island retreat home is a spacious two bedrooms, one bath, an open kitchen, dining and living area with a wrap around deck. Access to the roof top provides amazing views of sunrise on the bay and sunsets on the ocean side of the island.
The home comes with all amenities for you to enjoy days of fun at the beach or the bay including kayaks, beach tents, umbrellas, blankets, towels and toys as well as an outdoor shower to wash the sand between your toes.

We enjoyed our stay on the island. Lots of wildlife including a great horned owl, gopher tortoises, dolphins and manatees. The house is primitive, but comfortable. There was no oven or microwave, the water pump has a problem so that it would continually trip off during a shower, The toilet cannot handle toilet paper, so toilet paper has to be put in the waste basket. WiFi was not working, The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the screened porch with the hammock. The golf car a must to get to the beach (3/4 mile). Red tide was a problem while we were there, so we didn’t swim and we didn’t see anyone else in the water.
Our family had a wonderful time on Cayo Costa. Stan and Ellie were great and helped answer all of our questions and get us acclimated to the property. We thoroughly enjoyed the beach, shelling, and fishing. Really looking forward to getting back!
After having been to the island a couple of times via ferry for day visits, my 2 friends and I decided to look into the possibility of a place in which to stay for a few nights.
