Love it.
We had a wonderful time at this stunning location. I wish that we could have stayed longer.
Property was amazing, great outdoor landscaped green space for kids to play in. Dogs were friendly and played well with kids. Log cabin was beautiful, had an open floor plan on the ground floor with lots of room.
This home was beyond my expectations. The pictures understate how lovely everything is on in the outside and inside. There were plenty of imennities such as nice pots and pans, nice plates, glasses, and untencils. It was clean and not dusty like some places i have stayed. I felt that there was ample outlets, lighting etc. Plenty of firewood for my 3 nights. Shellie and Brad do a great job as host offering to help with anything i needed. I felt safe and at peace here. I will return for sure. Thank you for sharing your oasis with me.
We (four adults) visited Camp Sherman in December for a small holiday get away. The property and home were simply perfect for a warm fire, flannel pajamas, puzzles, and snow person making. The cabin craftsmanship is stunning and the cabin was clean and beautifully adorned. The stream along side the home adds a special ambience to the whole experience. We can't wait to go back during warmer weather so we can linger on the porch and grill on the deck. Brad was a welcoming host and the neighborhood dogs will put a smile on your face.
Quite, safe
Great house and location with idyllic pond and stream. For the money, just buy 3 queen beds and nightstands and everything would be perfect. No wifi or cable is very inconvenient. We'll be back. P.S. loved the dogs!
The cabin was very comfortable and conveniently located for fishing, hiking, and wondering around Sisters.
Incredibly serene and beautiful!
This property made it easy to leave life behind for a few days, and just relax! The home is clean and beautiful, the hosts were lovely and available when needed, but gave us privacy and space. We enjoyed visiting with their animals, and mostly the beautiful scenery and creek. The deck was a beautiful spot to eat outside and play board games late into the night with the family. Camp Sherman is idyllic with lots of trails and activities to explore, and this home is positioned perfectly to enjoy it all!
Beautiful setting and grounds.
We had a wonderful time at this Camp Sherman property. The cabin is high quality and beautifully situated right on a little stream. The property is private and tucked away, but located close to many wonderful trails and places to visit. Overall we found the stay to be lovely and comfortable. The most important thing to note is that the second bedroom is a loft bedroom open to the entire cabin — we weren't aware of this based on this listing. It worked out fine for our family, but if you're looking for privacy in the second room, note that this one overlooks the living area. (The fold out couch is also in a loft area overlooking the main living space.) The cabin did include some of the critters one can expect from staying in nature — it wasn't intrusive, but because we had an infant crawling around and on the ground it may have affected us more than others. Would also recommend bringing any specific kitchen items you may need if you're planning to cook — the cabin has basics.
Everything you see in the listing photos is real -- this is the most magical setting I can imagine. There's no hidden eyesore that is being framed out from the pictures. In fact, the photos don't do it justice. We had a wonderful time here and came home feeling so refreshed. It was great to have a break from the internet and just relax into Camp Sherman time. Our boys played in the creek (one nearly lost a sandal in the muddy bottom), and the dogs were lovely companions for the week. They easily recognized when to engage and when we wanted them to steer clear. Our only two areas for improvement: Lighting and beds. Lighting in the main room is dim. There are lamps around the edges with low-watt bulbs, but no bright central light. A rustic chandelier with a number of high watt bulbs on a dimmer switch would be perfect. In the summer we got by, but in the fall / winter this would be tough to deal with. Beds: The most comfortable bed is on the main floor and it is listed as a double. I'm 6'2 and I could not fit in the bed without sleeping diagonally. Not a realistic bed for a couple, unless they are very diminutive. The upstairs queen also felt small for a queen, and was not easy sleeping for us. A little saggy, and quite firm. The pullout in the couch is standard fare, and one of our sons ended up preferring it over the other options. We ended up rotating family members quite a bit between the various beds and the couch in the main room (which was actually pretty comfortable). For a place that is as near to perfect as this cabin is, and upgrade on the bed size / comfort would make it incredible. Big picture, we had a great week and will always remember the magical quality of the cabin and grounds.
wonderful
Enjoyed another great vacation at the Meadow Brook log house near Camp Sherman. The location on the private 32 acre estate is exquisite. Every window in the house allows a perfect view of the surrounding landscape. Had the best vacation just relaxing and watching the owners horses and dogs. Looking forward to coming back next year.
The cabin is lovely, with comfy sofas, chairs and beds. Everything we needed for a perfect stay in Camp Sherman. Brad was responsive and helpful. The stream flowing by the cabin offered a soothing backdrop to our stay. Highly recommend!
There was a shortage or absence of several basic supplies ( dish towels, napkins, storage containers) and they should have had a coffee grinder and knife sharpener to make us truly satisfied
If you need three beds the upstairs spare has a fold out coach that is VERY uncomfortable. Only a box spring and no madras. This was disappointing as there were 5 of us. If you need three beds bring a mattress because the coach is not really an option. The kitchen is very nice but light on pots pans and glassware.
Beautiful log cabin with all of the amenities including a welcoming committee of wonderful dogs.
