La Petite Voie De St. Therese house was warm and welcoming. It is well stocked with all the luxuries of home. The beds were comfortable and warm, the decor was beautiful and the floors shone! But the absolute cherry on top was our hostess, Emmaline! She left no stone unturned to make sure our stay was memorable. The local community boasts delicious Cajun food and live music everywhere at all hours of the day. The shops in the town square were great fun to patronize. This trip was meant to bring healing to myself and my daughters at the loss of our husband and father, respectively, and it delivered. A lovely home.
The property was just as it was advertised. Beautiful home, full of antiques and well placed decorative pieces. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The hostess was a delight to meet and we felt as though we had made a new friend. She welcomed us with Cajun hospitality treating us to homemade chicken salad sandwiches and carrot cake. The fridge was stocked with cold drinks and water . I have stayed at many other vacation homes ,but this was the first time I felt so welcomed by the host. I recommend this place .The area around this home is a great place to explore the outdoors and to learn more about Louisiana history.
What can I say other than Miss Emmaline and her beautiful home was over and above what we could have asked for. Emmaline takes southern hospitality to another level through her kind heart and what I would call love in action which means she practices what she preaches in an expression of her kind heart. She is my friend and we could not have had a better experience in Cajun country, her heart is in her home and you can feel it. Nothing was left undone, and everything we needed was provided, if I could give it 10 stars I would, Thank you miss Emmaline for a once in a lifetime overall wonderful Cajun experience!
My family was attending a four day Festival in Lafayette. This home was perfect for us to get away from city crowds, yet close enough to make for an easy drive. The property was beautiful, charming, and relaxing. The host was very responsive throughout our stay, and had even left us cake and sandwiches. This so far has been my favorite rental property, and I travel quite a bit, so that says a lot!
This is a wonderful place to stay. The house and grounds are beautiful, gracious and very comfortable for our group of five. The house is a vision of the past, like stepping back into old Louisiana, with beautiful antiques, a wrap around porch, lovely roses, well kept gardens and sugar cane fields nearby. Emmaline, the owner and hostess is a delight, very accomodating, a very good cook, and alot of fun to talk to. Thank you, Emmaline, for a wonderful stay. We will be back!!!
This is an authentic Cajun home with a rich and personal history that features traditional details all lovingly maintained. The setting in the countryside just outside town is peaceful and convenient to both shopping and local site seeing. The owner and host is most gracious, generous, and kind. CWe will never forget the special time we spent at “La Petite Voie de St. Therese”.
Great
Loved the wrap-around porch!! Tea on that porch drunk from an actual teacup was an experience I shall remember for some time. Delightful! The dirt road between cane fields was good for jogging and the property is near Lake Martin. Meeting Emmaline was very much a highlight--gracious host, very accommodating.
Unfortunately our stay was not a vacation, but for the passing of my mom. This house spoke to me the moment I saw photos and I HAD to stay here. It ends up being my grandmother’s 1st cousin and his lovely wife that own the home…so amazing how God put us exactly where we needed to be. The house and yard are beautiful and peaceful. We also enjoyed the fresh cake and macaroni casserole that was for us! A true gem of a home and the owners.
Perfect for my family. From the sandwiches, cake, and snacks left by the hostess to the tranquil yard…we enjoyed every minute. Would surely love to visit again.
Emmaline, the owner, has such a kind and welcoming spirit that simply could not help but overflow into every facet of our time in her unique and homey, south Louisiana rental home. Her hospitality is genuine and so is her house. We have stayed in many VRBO houses but have never been greeted with a personal appearance to show us around, a refrigerator full of food, an authentic, home-coooked Cajun brunch at HER home and a farewell visit on the porch. There are porches on three sides of the house that beg to be experienced with a good book and glass of sweet tea. We loved keeping the four sets of screened double doors leading to the porches open to the warm bayou breezes. The azaleas, magnolias, pecans and crepe myrtles surrounding the house and porches complement the roses and other flowers in abundance. If you are traveling to the area, stay here, soak up everything Cajun and let Emmaline show you what genuine hospitality feels like.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Cajun country. We had an extended stay and were able to watch spring come into the neighborhood with the flowering of the many azalea and magnolia bushes, ornamental pear trees and roses. Our host, Emmaline, had some surprise welcome gifts in the fridge for us and greeted us soon after we arrived. The house was well-stocked with everything we needed and decorated for Mardi Gras! Emmaline was a truly gracious and thoughtful host and went above and beyond what we expected with pointers on things to experience in the area to really get a feel for this most unique culture. Highly recommend!
