Durham, North Carolina
Summary:
Spacious, welcoming home with an open living concept. Located downtown adjacent in an urban, diverse neighborhood minutes from many of Durham's favorite coffee shops, breweries and restaurants. Driveway with room to park multiple cars. The home has salvaged barnwood floors, marble counters in the well-stocked kitchen, and a lofted front porch with cushioned seating and hammock chairs. The location near to downtown makes it a perfect home-away-from-home for a weekend or longer!
The Space:
The open concept living / dining / kitchen are cozy and welcoming. Our builder focuses on utilizing salvaged green building materials where possible, so while the space is new, it has lots of character! It is a far cry from a cookie cutter new build and is unlike any place you've ever stayed. We fell in love with the charming home on first sight and we hope you will love it too!
The house has four queen bedrooms. Two of the rooms have a Jack and Jill bath between. There is a second full bathroom accessible from the common area. We use Free & Clear Unscented laundry detergent on bedding and towels so our guests with sensitivities to perfumed products can breath easy.
The leather sofa and side rocking chairs in the living room, and pivoting TV allow for a comfortable place to gather or wind down. There is covered deck at the front of the house, and a deck with table in the fully fenced in backyard.
Guest Access:
The entire home is yours to enjoy, including the decks, backyard and washer/dryer.
The Neighborhood:
The house is 7/10ths of a mile from the DIY District including Motorco, Geer St Garden, Fullsteam Brewery and Cocoa Cinnamon. It's also an easy trip to Duke, RTP, the downtown Farmer's Market, & many local (and delicious) restaurants/cafes & local bars/breweries. The house is in an urban, income diverse neighborhood. Our home next door on Alston Ave also serves as a Vacation Rental with a gate connecting the two yards, "| Modern Open Bright | Spacious + Clean Aesthetic"
Getting Around:
The house is very easy to access and is a short drive to downtown, NC147, I85 and Durham's main thoroughfares. If you're taking a bus, there are many bus lines that should easily drop you off very close to our house. Lyfts and Ubers are abundant in the area as well.
Other Things to Note:
We have a Smart TV with access to Netflix, your Amazon or Hulu account, and many other apps. We Cut the Cord on Cable, but offer YouTubeTV which functions similar to Cable and offers tons of Live or On Demand Options!
Interaction with Guests:
We want you to be able to settle into this home as if it was your own. We'll stay out of your way, but we're just a quick message away if you have questions about restaurants, events or the house, or if an unexpected issue arises.
We are happy to answer questions that you may have! Whether it's a hankering for a local cider, a sudden urge for a new haircut or a desperate need for a donut, we are happy to help you find the closest and best place to make that happen.
We stayed at this lovely home for parent's weekend. It was close to Duke in a quiet location, clean with plenty of towels. We've stayed in so many rental houses that were skimpy on towels, so this was notable. Our hosts provided lot's of information on the area and were very responsive.
This place was amazing! Loved the old hardwood floors. The decor was very tasteful. Well stocked. Would definitely stay here again.
perfect house for a getaway with friends and family! convenient to downtown Durham and Raleigh and near so many cool restaurants and places to check out. very reasonably priced and loved chilling out on the front porch. Awesome host and we had a great time!
The house was clean and the beds were comfortable! The kitchen was well stocked and even had coffee, salt, pepper, etc.The hosts communicated well!
Everything was great very nice place
We really enjoyed the house as 4 golfers. It had 4 bedrooms with queen beds and 2 bathrooms for us to share. Communication with Dylan was very easy as well.
We enjoyed our stay at this property. It’s centrally located to downtown Durham and well furnished with all basic amenities we needed. The property owner was easy to communicate with and attentive. House was clean and cozy with some rustic design touches. We were very pleased with this property and would definitely stay here again.
The place was wonderful and met all of our needs perfectly. Dylan sent some great local recommendations and the communication was great. Thank you!
Overall we had an enjoyable stay. However I suggest screens be added to the front bedroom windows and curtains hung in that room. There is dearth of ventilation in the kitchen. Screens in the front bedroom would help greatly. Street light shines across the pillows at night. The house sits on a surprisingly busy road and the traffic didn't let up much during the night. Report from a back room was that is was too much noise to allow an open window.
We just loved this house! We loved the old reclaimed parts of the house mixed with some modern touches. The location was fantastic for getting around Durham. We took advantage of the good food just down the street a couple of times. The house was super clean and very comfortable. Would stay there again!
