We enjoyed the Applegate Retreat with our family so much. We stayed for a wedding at Red Lily & a family reunion in the Applegate region, and felt our accommodations made the trip magical. We can’t wait to return to the lovely VRBO & all the comfort Elena provided! The property was a little paradise for our family, while we were grateful for our stay.
Great location! Really comfortable! Perfect summertime meeting place for our friends reunion.
Everything is as listed except we were not able to use Wi-Fi (it was extremely slow), but it was okay for us. We could still use phone service. Had 3 A/C, Gym, and ping pong table. My family and friends had a wonderful time at Happy Forth. As a suggestion, they should add a volleyball ground on the field by the river. I really want to come back again.
This retreat style property was incredible, the kids played and explored the woods, the house was comfy and very clean! We will definitely be staying again. I only wish I had known there were multiple homes to rent, we would have booked all 3 so we could all be together, rather than in hotels and AirB&Bs across Medford. The river was a still to high to access in May, but by July this will be an amazing fishing spot.
Thoroughly enjoyed the views, the wildlife, the wood stove. The River so close was amazing. The vineyards all around were delightful. It was a wonderful stay.
Don't believe the 5 star reviews. Although the inside of the house is nice, the kitchen is tiny and cluttered. The dinning room has a terrible smell of mold, we all were coughing The river access is down a very dangerous and scary path down a cliff. If you get down the path, you can see the river, but you can't get in it. The campground has some nice areas, but also abandoned trailers. Kinda creepy. Lastly, the business license on the wall expired last December. We wont go back.
Could not have been better!!!
This is an amazing home on beautiful property. Home was clean and comfy, fully stocked with towels, bottled water, and games. We used the outdoor grill, fire pit, on-site gym and sauna, and hiked the trails. Very close to many wineries! My only recommendation is that the owner stock the kitchen with measuring cups and spoons. A treadmill in the gym would be a great addition. We would love to come here again!
We rented both the main house and the cottage for our stay with three generations of our family. The surrounding forest and open meadow below provided ample space to explore. The raspberries were just beginning to ripen so we did enjoy some tasty treats. The welcome gifts of juice and cereal, snack bars and fruit were a special treat, especially with the kids, who also enjoyed the various games in the house. The overall experience was wonderful, with the feel of our own private retreat. Thank you.
Our family two kids (under 8) and two adults stayed here. The house was super clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. There was a heat wave and the AC units worked really well. The outside space had fig, pear and apple trees. We saw deer on the property every day and lots of birds to observe. We watched the bats swoop eating bugs at dusk. So cool! We took the raft up to Cantrall Buckley Park and rafted down to the property. We saw a beaver and blue heron on the raft trip. There is a artisan and farmers market on Sundays in Jacksonville and we went to Pennington’s Berry Farm and Market and had great treats, berries and jam. We visited Sanctuary One for rescued farm animals as well. The property felt secluded and quiet with minimal road noise. It was super quiet at night. The river has a strong current right at the access on the property so it is not ideal for swimming, but an adult could plunge and explore and sit in a chair and read a book. Our kids waded in but could not swim due to current. We recommend the owners get some black out shades on all windows to help keep the house cool during heat waves and some lounge chairs would be nice for the deck. We did not come for the wifi or access to TV, but please know the wifi is limited so don’t expect to work, watch a movie or download anything. We did not contact the owners about the wifi because we planned to be screen free all week. Overall, we had a great stay and were very comfortable.
