This home was just what our family needed. Plenty of space for 12 of us to spread out when we needed to to do, but apportioned so that we could gather for games, tv or meals. The porches and balconies topped off the beautiful but cozy indoors. Kitchen had everything we needed. Would stay again.
The property was just as advertised. A beautiful home for our family of 10 and a well-stocked kitchen! The property management company was very responsive to minor after hours inquiries on a holiday weekend. Would definitely recommend and have already booked another trip!
The views from the many porches was exactly what I hoped they would be. Bay views and sunrise from the front porch and ocean and sunset from the back. The house was large and easily handled our group of 13. The back porch was a favorite evening spot to gather. The house is very well stocked with pots, pans, cupcake tins, plastic containers, silverware, dishes and glassware. The icemaker did not work but that was minor, ice is only a short drive away. We loved the ability to walk to the beach and to the bay to kayak/paddle board. The house is across from a public entrance to the bay, but that was not a problem at all and we enjoyed watching all the weekend visitors. I would recommend this property and stay again.
The house was very clean when we got there. Location was great. Could not get the ice maker to work but we used the ice trays that were there so not a big issue. The charcoal grill could use an upgrade. Didn't use it. No Keurig coffee maker. The driveway is tricky trying to get a big truck under the house. Just pointing these out just in case someone wanted to know. Overall had a great time there and the house was fully stocked about everything you could need. Beautiful home.
The house is beautifully decorated yet homey and comfortable. It has lots of space to relax in, and a well stocked kitchen. The elevator was a God send for my ill mother and elderly aunt. The outdoor shower was fantastic for the kids to rinse off after the beach. Having a washer and dryer make it so convenient to go home with fewer damp and sandy clothes. We enjoyed playing Uno and putting together a large jigsaw puzzle, but we were bummed when it ended up missing two pieces lol. The beach was great...not crowded at all. Very few problems, and most of them minor; I hesitate to even mention them, because I'm not a nitpicky person, but I assume the owners and/or rental company want to know everything. First, one bath towel, one hand towel and one wash cloth per person is really not enough for a five night stay, but we made do (We brought beach towels). I'm sure I could have called and requested more, but I didn't. We had a small invasion of ants even though we kept the kitchen very clean, and saw some other bugs, too. It may be time for a fumigation. The wifi information was incomplete and incorrect on everything we looked at. The closest to accurate was a note on the dining area wall and we figured it out from there. For checkout, we were supposed to put all the towels and sheets into linen bags, but we were never able to locate the bags. I called the office on Wed. or Thur. and left a message, but no one called me back. The worst problem was not anything related to the house or the rental company. It was some of our neighbors; a large group of people that had a wedding on the beach on Mon. They partied pretty loudly late into the night on Sun., which was bad enough. Then on Mon., two of the women asked my husband to take down our beach canopy; I guess it was going to interfere with their view, or photos? He did it because he's a nice guy, but he didn't appreciate having his relaxation time interfered with. The worst part was Mon. night after the wedding. They had extremely loud karaoke, or a D.J. or something. It was SO loud. I hated to be THAT person, but after researching noise ordinances online, I called the Oak Island police and made a complaint about midnight. I fell asleep soon after (I can sleep through almost anything), but my aunt said they kept going until 2:00am. So I don't know if the police even responded. I'm not sure what, if anything could have prevented that issue, but otherwise it was a lovely, relaxing vacation.
The location was perfect! It was almost like we had a private beach. The home was clean and cozy. This is a real hidden gem.
