Our family and our friends family stayed 5 nights over Thanksgiving. Was perfect for what we were looking for.
10/10 across the board and the house had everything you need!
Property was well kept, well stocked with dishes, pots and pans. Beds were very comfortable. Hot tub was usable but the jets didn't all work. Would definitely stay here again!
I booked this property within 10 minutes after out original booking canceled us due to a burst pipe. I'll list out the pros and cons separately instead of rambling. Pros- 1. The view is great. It's basically at the top of the mountain. Those sunsets were gorgeous. 2. The check in process was easy. 3. We saw multiple bears as promised. Despite one causing damage to our vehicle, they were cute. My review does not reflect the actions of the wildlife. 4. The road will spit you out at the end of Gatlinburg or onto the Parkway so it was accessible to local attractions without being bothered by them. 5. Everyone in our party had their own space and the layout was nice. 6. The hot tub was clean. 7. The kitchen appliances were nice and new. 8. Every room had a box fan. Loved that! 9. The kitchen had plenty of items to use. Cons: 1. There were issues that also served as safety hazards. I'm in child protective services so it's my job to assess safety. My daughter is 2 and very mobile. The slats on the main level balcony were spaced out enough for her to slip through. There was no lock on the screen door so we were super vigilant in making sure she did not go on the balcony. It just caused added stress. There was a nail sticking out of the bottom edge of the paneling that my husband had to hammer back in. The upstairs shower was slippery and my daughter slipped and hit her head on the stone edge. She wasn't playing or anything, simply and cautiously stepping in. When we transitioned to the tub downstairs, the coating in the tub was peeling off into the water. There was a piece of broken glass in the floor that was discovered the evening of our arrival. 2. The basement smelled of cat urine after a few days. It had rained a lot so it got rather dank down there. The smell was pretty strong. 3. There was a pile of dog/cat hair on the side of one of the living room chairs. I have no issue with animals but it worried me about the cleanliness. 4. This is personal preference but the beds were too firm for me, my parents and my grandparents. My sons and husband had no complaints. 5. One of the toilets was not bolted down properly-the basement bathroom, I think. 6. The TV in the upstairs left bedroom had issues that ended up resolving but it took a lot of work. That's the bulk of it. The furniture and decor could've used some updating but that wasn't a concern. Everyone has different tastes. I enjoyed the location and the wildlife sightings
The overall stay at the cabin was phenomenal with its scenic and immaculate view shining towards the city; even though the doors closing out the blue, which was a mystery. the stay was worth it with its peace and quiet hotub. the only misleading part of the cabin was the everyday seeing a bear.
This property is wayyyyy overpriced for what it offers. We paid $3800 to stay for a week here and were really disappointed at how things turned out. Instead of having fun, we had to spend 3 days in the cabin while the maintenance folks tried to fix a number of issues (see details below). We weren't required to be there while they fixed it but we chose to stay as we had to ensure the issues were addressed (but not all issues were resolved). The customer service /property managers were very responsive and we got 20% refund when we complained, but we would have rather stayed some place else. The Good: 1. Very Scenic location 2. Lots of bears. We saw at least one everyday throughout our one week stay 3. Responsive property managers and customer service The Bad: 1. Biggest complaint was that the central AC on both top floor rooms wasn't working. There's a portable AC in one of the top floor rooms but the other one was just way too hot to spend in summer time. 2. The top floor rooms only has one queen bed and two full beds (as opposed to one King and Two queens listed in the Ad). Another review pointed this as well. This is just false advertising. 3. The shower in lower floor bathroom did not work. No water at all 4. Very slow water flow in the kitchen (to the point it was unusable). I had to send video with the open faucet to their maintenance team as they wouldn't believe it. 5. The cabin is very dated and the amenities aren't that great: (a) Porcelain in main level bathtub is chipping all over and blocking the drain. (b) The Carpet near the main level bedroom door is not attached to the floor (c) The BBQ charcoal grill has a completely rusted grate, rendering it unusable.
Property is dated. Don’t understand why we are charged 289$ for cleaning, if the property is not clean. Once you get over the old house smell and explore the house it’s a good stay. We saw bears and Cubs twice. Drive to property from ski mountain rd is tricky with steep uphill at multiple spots, make sure tires are good on vehicle. I saw vehicles in front of me struggling. House number is only on one side so not easy to find the property, could be fixed easily by property management. There is not much area around the property, backyard is small and other houses are too close.
Bedbugs found in lower & main level bedding - we left early. Air conditioning not working on upper level. Air return filters completely clogged with dust/dirt. Hot water not working in upper & lower level shower. Laundry room lights worked intermittently. Exposed wiring on air units in laundry area. Broken chair stuck back together. By far the worst vacation rental in 35yrs of travel.
Views great. Rental very nice but dated. Cleanliness not the best.
The bed count listed is incorrect. There are 2 kings, 1 queen and 2 full beds. We picked this house because it's listed as having 3 kings. Overall cleanliness is mediocre, do not walk around barefoot on the carpets. Location and view are great, would be nice to have a warning about the drive up, very steep and curvy, no guard rails.
