Lenox, Massachusetts
HYDRANGEA HILL - It doesn't get much better than this for style and proximity. Hydrangea Hill (circa, 1898) is located on a quiet street less than a half-mile walking distance to downtown Lenox, and only two miles to Tanglewood's main entrance. The yard offers a garden atmosphere with a lightly wooded wetland area on the back and side. You'll recognize it immediately by the white picket fence curving around the front as the brick walkway leads you to the front door. The house features three bedrooms, each with quality linens and mattresses; one with twin beds, one with a queen bed, and a master suite with a king bed. You'll love the master bathroom, which features a Carrara marble top, double vanity, and large walk-in glass and tile shower with a spa bench. Without a doubt, the best feature in the house is the large open living space and fully equipped modern kitchen with all you need for a family gathering or for cooking an intimate gourmet meal. The farmhouse style table is 10 feet long and easily seats ten-twelve individuals. For movies at home or sports followers, you'll love the Samsung 65” Crystal Ultra High Definition TV and of course, Wifi throughout the house. Other amenities include, a guest bath upstairs near bedrooms, a half bath on the main floor with laundry facilities, and an enlarged paved patio with (weather permitting) comfortable wicker outdoor seating, propane fire pit, propane grill, and a 7' propane heat lamp. You'll love the Berkshires and all that Hydrangea Hill has to offer.
If Hydrangea Hill had a motto, it would be "Veni, Relaxant, Fruere", Latin for "Come, Relax, Enjoy"

We had an incredible weekend at your home for a family wedding at The Mount. The house is so beautiful, very clean, great location. We would stay again and have already recommended it to other family and friends.
Property was as described. Very comfortable for five 68 year young women who have stayed lifelong friends. Great kitchen with everything you need. Enough space to spread out. Lenox is visitor friendly and we contributed to the economy! A wonderful 3 day stay.
Excellent stay!
This is a beautiful house in a great location. Perfect for all ages. Beautiful linens, gorgeous kitchen with all the extras. Can’t wait to go back!!
My family group (4 adults) loved our stay at this beautiful home. Communication with the owner was great; detailed and helpful info provided in advance. Check-in was easy. This older home has been recently and thoroughly updated with all of the conveniences, including a great heating and cooling system- we used both on our changeable weather stay. The rooms are tastefully appointed and very comfortable. The kitchen has everything. We especially enjoyed the fire pit and patio; the wooded setting is lovely. This house is a great find and we would definitely stay again!
Perfect location for a Lenox wedding. Host could not have been more communicative or supportive. We hosted the rehearsal dinner--catered from a nearby restaurant. Everyone commented on what a great house we had found for the weekend.
We loved everything about this house! The aesthetics, comfort and location. It was perfectly sized for a family of 4 and within hours we felt right at home. Alan is a wonderful and generous host. We stayed over the new year and left us a bottle of champagne. The kids loved making hot chocolate and hot apple cider in the Keurig after a day of skiing. We have stayed in several VRBO homes, and we all agreed this was our favorite. Would happily stay here again. Thanks Alan!
We so enjoyed our short stay in Lenox. The house was beautifully decorated, CLEAN, and cozy. Alan, the host, was very responsive to our inquiries and even helped us secure an elusive Thanksgiving Day dining reservation (At the Red Lion Inn)! We walked to downtown Lenox numerous times for shopping and had delicious food at Alta and Pizzeria Boema. We also got pizza from Betty's Pizza Shack on our way into town (another Alan recommendation) and it was great. We visited the Norman Rockwell Museum and hiked in the Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary. Hopefully, we can come back for a summer visit sometime!
The owner is very detail oriented and as a result you get well acquainted with the house quickly. You feel right at home. It is also in a great location so you can easily get to downtown Lenox, Stockbridge and Great Barrington. My family enjoyed our time there and the owner was just wonderful.
Great property, well equipped with everything you need. Quiet and cure neighborhood, walkable to downtown Lenox. Great weekend stay!
We enjoyed our stay. The house was as advertized and well taken-care off, and the owner was very proactive and supportive. Easy walk to downtown Lenox, and lots of other Berkshire cultural and leisure opportunities within a short drive.
All was as described. The owners have clearly meticulously thought of every detail. The real tell was that our daughter didn't want to leave! This is a beautiful property and highly recommended.
This is our second summer staying at the house while traveling in the Berkshires! the home is neat, cozy and beautifully appointed!
We really enjoyed our stay and Alan is a great host! Communication was excellent and the house is in an ideal location for all that the Berkshires have to offer!
It's perfect. Lots of houses are clean, but this one is spotless. Even the baseboards, air vents, and ceiling fans are clean. Lots of houses have a few spices, but this house came fully equipped with coffee, sugar, olive oil, kleenex, and more. Lots of houses have adequate dishes, but this one has service for about 15 along with all the extra glasses and serving pieces to host a holiday gathering. The kitchen even included a blender and a slow cooker. The owner sent us check-in informatin well ahead of time, and everything worked perfectly. The decor was a perfect eclectic blend that offered seating for many people, along with little extras like throw blankets and a Bose bluetooth speaker. It is just the right blend of modern updates and old-fashioned New England charm (slightly creaky stairs and a Subzero fridge). The house is in an adorable neighborhood within walking distance of the little downtown area in Lenox. The only warning I might give is if you have folks with mobility problems. We had two folks who use canes, and some of the stairs were on the rickety side. They also have old-fashioned thresholds that stick up a bit in the doorways. Both of our people did fine, but they had to be super careful on the stairs. It was lovely, and I heartily recommend it. It would probably be particularly adorable for holiday gatherings.
This is a wonderful house in the Berkshires. Everything was perfect - location, property, furniture, beds, TV. The host was attentive, sent detailed information and was easy to reach. The walk into town is about 15 minutes. Everything was just wonderful. We would return if we are in the area. We were with 4 people, but 6 could sleep comfortably. There are 3 lovely bedrooms. Great natural light in the house also.
Alan's Lenox property is gorgeous and was just what we needed for a Memorial Day weekend in the Berkshires. He was also a fabulous communicator, and answered several questions we had quickly and helpfully. When we had a minor maintenance mishap with one of the bathrooms the house manager was also quick to respond and make sure we had everything we need!
The house is beautiful, everything you need. Clean, comfortable, lovely decor. Get away weekend for three friends. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this lovely home. Great neighborhood, even walking distance to Lenox center if you want. Close to restaurants, shops, hiking. Perfect!
For a recent family get-together, my cousin and her husband came in from Chicago, and our daughter came in from Boston. The pIan was to meet in Lenox, and I spent a chunk of time on the internet looking for the right house. Anything that was less than good would have been extremely disappointing. Not to worry. Hydrangea Hill is top notch, the owner was a pleasure to deal with, and we had nothing at all to complain about. The house is simultaneously impressive to behold and comfortable to spend time in. It has been beautifully restored and appropriately modernized, and it has an open-space layout on the first floor that is perfect for a group that shrinks and expands during the course of a few hours. We were visiting in the off-season around the time that the NCAA basketball championships were in the final stages, and the big screen TV and seating arrangements made for a couple of enjoyable evenings. Dining choices in Lenox included the hard-to-beat Bistro Zinc, and in Stockbridge The Red Lion Inn. Although a number of historic homes and the like were not yet open, the Norman Rockwell Museum and the Crane Museum (in Dalton) did not disappoint.
