We had a fantastic stay at the "Cabin on the Hill". The Cabin was stocked with all the comforts of home and the hot tub was great. The owners (Kaye and David) were also especially nice and friendly. They were very flexible with us when we changed our arrival time multiple times. Kaye even met us up at our cabin and gave us lots of local tips and places to check out. The area was also great, relatively close to Asheville, and close to many other N.C. attractions. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay and are planning to return in the spring for a mountain bike trip.
Drove from St Louis(word of mouth from a friend who rented a cabin) and was not disappointed. Beautiful setting, quiet surroundings and wonderful accommodations. Great location to kick back and appreciate what nature has to offer! Hosts Kaye and David catered to all my needs and were always available, if needed. Cabin was as advertised: clean, well appointed and very private. Could not have enjoyed myself more. I have passed on this location to friends in my area and am certain they will be making the trip in the future! Thank you Clear Creek Cabins!!
Stayed in the "Cabin at the Trailside." Negatives: This was not really a cabin so much as a modular home that was built to look like a cabin. The cabin was not secluded as we imagined as we could see and hear the couple staying in the "Cabin in the Woods" as it was a little below our cabin and off to the left. One of the jets to the hot tub was broken and would suck in too much water and make a loud gurgling sound which was far from relaxing. We also happened to stay in this cabin on one of the coldest nights of the season so far. Kaye (the owner/manager) gave us some tips on how to keep the place warm at night, but the fireplace/heater simply could not push enough heat to the bedroom which is on the opposite side of the cabin. We both slept in our clothes and shoes with multiple blankets on top of us. One of the more miserable experiences considering we were there to relax. We let Kaye know about the heating issue and her response was a bit dismissive by stating, "we've stayed up here in the winter and have been just fine, we must be used to something a little different." My husband deployed four times to Afghanistan and said the experience was similar to staying the winter in the Hindu Kush. I don't think it was because we were being babies that we complained. The toilet plunger broke on our first night. We let Kaye know the next day about the issue and not blaming her as this was Sunday afternoon, but it couldn't get fixed. We had to stick our hands in the toilet tank every time we needed to flush it. Pretty gross considering it's a rental cabin. YUCK. Positives: Kaye met us at the cabin promptly and gave us a very thorough and informative run down of the area, roads, restaurants and how to take care of the cabin while we were there. The cabin was very clean and very well supplied. Quite cute and the perfect size for a couple to hang out. When we let her know how cold the cabin was at night, although her attitude was dismissive, she brought us an additional electric heater immediately which was completely appreciated. OVERALL: A well kept, clean place, but with some issues that really couldn't be overlooked. At $170 a night, we would have expected a bit more.
My wife and I stayed at the Cabin in the Woods and found it to be a very peaceful place to spend several days. The location was close enough to Hendersonville to enjoy several outings for dinner and far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the cabin. It's close enough to several nice hiking areas which we enjoyed - we would strongly suggest Dupont State Forrest for it's waterfalls. Kaye was very helpful with navigating around the area and suggesting several nice places to eat. The cabin had everything we needed and was a perfect place to come home to each evening.
We stayed in the Cabin on the Hill cabin: My husband and I were very excited to go on an anniversary trip this year to North Carolina. We also brought along our 4 month old daughter and found these cabins perfect for our needs. We were a little afraid to take the baby on such a big trip with her being so small, but these cabins were so quiet and had a perfect layout so that she had her own space to sleep. We found it very relaxing to be able to take her monitor out on the front porch with us so we could spend some time in the hot tub and enjoy the beautiful night time. This cabin was perfect for cooking breakfast every morning and being able to make lunch to take with us on our day trips. This is the best way to see the outdoors and everything Hendersonville, NC has to offer, much better than a hotel. We have already recommended this cabin to my cousins who love the outdoors and we are hoping to one day come back ourselves.
We enjoyed the Cabin in the Woods, the front porch, and of course the hot tub. We ate our breakfast on the porch most mornings and finished the evenings there as well. This is a great location if you want to be close to visit Chimney Rock and Lake Lure - and still have some quiet and privacy from the crowds. This area is such a beautiful place to visit in any direction you go. Have fun!
Wonderful, relaxing, and cozy! The cabin is just right for two people and has everything you need on site. We enjoyed the hike behind the cabin, and fishing at the pond. The best was our time at the “condo”. Dave’s fried squash and blackberry cobbler was the best. The Biltmore and Chimney Rock were our best off-site ventures. Last but not least Kaye and David’s hospitality was far above anything we have experienced at any lodging including B&Bs! Hope to come back soon.
My husband and I joined friends who also stayed on the property. We had a wonderful time! The highlight, besides our fellowship time together, was the warm and over the top hospitality given by Kaye and Dave! They invited us to a bar-b-que with all the "fixens"!! Delicious!! We stayed in the Farmhouse and enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, the spaciousness, the very comfortable bed, and the large furnished deck that we enjoyed watching the fireworks and stars from. Counting the days before we can return again!
The cabin was great! The lady who checked us in was very pleasant and knew a great deal about the area. She was very helpful in telling us how to get to attractions, restaurants and places of interest. The cabin itself was very clean and cozy. EVERYTHING was provided for us, even a few things we had forgotten. Very accommodating and hospitable. I would and have recommended this stay to my friends.
Kaye was a most knowledgeable host. We had plenty to see and do. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. We were comfortable and had a great time. David invited us to several bar b q parties and we met some great local folks. Cant wait to return.
Ms. Kaye was amazing to us from the beginning to the end! She alone makes us want to come back! We were looking for a place to have a weekend all to ourselves and we found it at Clear Creek Cabins! The land is perfectly laid out for those that want to truly have a place to get away. I only dream that someday we will be able to get back there again!
From the initial phone call to the day we left was so effortless and amazing. Mrs Kaye has to be the most helpful and patient person we have ever met. My girlfriend and I were looking for a peaceful escape and man did we find it. She said " this was one of her fantasy's and it had come true " Our vacation started when we pulled into the drive, taking in the cabin and the beautiful surroundings. The porch, hot tub and rockers provided us with hours of time to just sit, talk and relax. The inside was perfect, Don't bring much when you go because everything you need is there.
We were so happy during our stay in this fabulous cabin on a wonderful property. Everything was just perfect, and we were so happy we stayed here. I recommend this property very much!
Remote, wooded location. Beautiful, folksy-cozy interior. The walls and built-ins are pretty knotty pine. Great porch for sitting and great hot tub. With the kitchen and laundry, we decided we wished we could stay and live there. We hope to be back!
See the next review dated October 25, 2012. I can affirm that it was Amazing. Especially enjoyed lounging in the private hot tub after a day of hiking. Very peaceful and relaxing place to stay, and we drove to Asheville, Lake Lure, and Hendersonville; so though this was rather remote, it was central to all the places we visited. Thanks
Amazing! Everyone else had said it all. Stayed in Cabin in the Woods. Secluded but only a few moments from town. Comfy bed! Hot tub was amazing! Loved sitting in the porch and living in the robes! Kaye was great too! She really knows her stuff! ONLY complaint, really tiny shower, but that's really not a big deal. Definitely going back!!!
This was the perfect spot for a romantic getaway. Very secluded and cozy and the hot tub was to die for. The inside of the cabin was rustic--knotty pine floor to ceiling--but new (built in 2006) and full of amenities. Just bring your clothes and food--everything else is there. The small gas fireplace was awesome and so was the huge porch with rocking chairs and dining set. I just can't say enough great things about this place. You won't regret staying here and you won't want to leave.
My husband and I stayed in The Cabin in the Woods and had the ultimate getaway experience. We were secluded enough to do anything we wanted but still within 20 min to restaurants and nearby attractions. The cabin was perfect for us. Everything was very well maintained and had everything we needed for our stay. The bath robes were especially nice. We would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a quiet couples retreat.
I had an absolutely wonderful time at the cabin. The area is beautiful and the cabin was very comfortable and well equiped. My favorite part was the hot tub overlooking the woods. I plan on making this an annual event.
This was a great place to stay, we were at the Cabin on the Hill.Kaye is very helpful when you first arrive at showing you how everything works and places to go. The view was amazing and the fall colosr beautiful! It has everything you need and perfect for a couple! Loved the hot tub, fireplace, and rocking on the porch! It was a perfect mountain trip! we did some hiking during the day and downtown Hendersonville has great shops and food! I will be staying here again!
The cabin was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone. Spectacular views, easy directions, things to see and do,etc... 0verall an excellent trip.
We were celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary--and this cabin could not have been a more perfect place! We brought in our own food and hardly left the place for 4 days! So much good quiet time to talk, read, rest, and we especially enjoyed the hot tub at night! very different from our nromal city life. We are definitely going back!!!
My wife and I recently stayed here for a quick mini vacation. We could have not been happier that we choose to stay in the Cabin in the Meadow. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Mrs.Kaye who provided a wealth of information about the town as well as which roads to take vs. not to take. The cabin was the perfect size. We arrived on a cold night and had no issues with keeping the cabin heated. We had no issues with the cabin, you can tell that the owners put a lot into the cabin, from bath robes available during your stay to having laundry soap available in case you choose to do laundry. We will be back for sure.
My husband and I came here to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. What a TREAT! We've never been to this area before and had an absolute perfect getaway. Kaye was super helpful at check in, describing some good spots to see while we were in town, where to avoid, how to get there, etc. The cabin in the woods was just FANTASTIC. Very quiet, away from the hustle & bustle. We don't have 4WD and were worried that us "coastal" folk might struggle getting there but being September and still warm, we had no issues. I think if we went in the winter though, we'd definitely need 4WD up that hill if there was any wintry stuff on the ground. It was still close enough for us to visit Hendersonville, and Chimney Rock, and some good little restaurants around town. We would DEFINITELY return.
We wanted to get away from Florida heat and see seasons change. We did 3 days city (Asheville), 3 days country, the latter in Cabin In The Woods. Luckily we hit the autumn colors at the perfect time. There's no better way to experience Autumn than at these cabins. At the time, the cabin cost about the same as a Comfort Inn in Asheville but was like a luxury hotel by comparison: Hot tub, fireplace, beautifully appointed cabin in a rustic setting. Kaye was extremely helpful in telling us what to do and what to avoid in the area, so all this added up to a very memorable getaway. We would stay here again without question and recommend these cabins to all.
I'm so happy we found this cabin for our 18th Anniversary getaway! Very secluded & exactly what we needed! Will definitely be going back, loved Hendersonville!
We had a lovely time visiting at Clear Creek Cabins. The cabin was so comfortable & had everything we needed. We loved the décor and it was so well organized and clean. Kaye's book of helpful info was used & appreciated. Lots of great places to hike close by and visits to downtown Hendersonville and Asheville were convenient and fun. Loved being in the treetops and listening to the birds serenade us. The hot tub was amazing. The property is gorgeous and so peaceful. We look forward to our next visit!
Kaye was wonderful and everything was perfect. There's nothing more to say. Our 7th Anniversary was amazing and we'll definitely do it again.
The Cabin in the Treetops was excellent. We rented it on short notice and had never stayed overnight in Hendersonville, even though we visit there often as it is one of our favorite mountain places. Kaye was wonderful to work with and we will definitely be returning. The cabin was GREAT; we loved it and it was so private. We were there 3 nights and only ventured out to downtown twice. We enjoyed the hot tub "awesome", we enjoyed the pond/fishing and the hammock, walking the trail, cooking on the grill and sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch! The thing we enjoyed more than anything though was the privacy. It was a wonderful time!! We have stayed at a lot of places in the Tennessee mountains but we are now spoiled and will be for more visits to Clear Creek Cabins. Next time, hopefully we will have more time and can visit more of the walking trails....We would gladly recommend this beautiful cabin get--away to everyone!! Tim & Teresa (Kings Mountain, NC)
We stayed in the Cabin in the Woods and were very pleased. The cabin was very clean and cozy, the hot tub was just right, and Kaye was a gracious host who was knowledgeable about the area and had great dining recommendations. We hope to be back!
This cabin was perfect for our Holiday get away. This year, 2016, has been filled with the stresses and anxiety that health issues, family issues and daily life can bring. My husband and I needed a place to stop the insanity and this cabin was our choice. Kay and David were wonderful to us. David makes delicious BBQ and was very gracious in asking us to join him and his family for Christmas Eve dinner. We enjoyed our dinner and being with the family so much. My husband is already talking about going back to "our" cabin. The cabin location was secluded and quiet. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The hot tub on the porch was relaxing and soothing. The trail, behind Cabin on the Hill, was about 1/2 mile into and out of the woods. The hammock was an added bonus as was the fire pit and chairs down by the lake. Fishing poles were available. Relaxing and quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to Hendersonville and Asheville for dinners or lunch out and a visit to the Biltmore Estate and the Omni Grove Park Inn. Go to the Saint Paul vineyard which is just a bit away from the Cabin.
Stayed for 4 days at "Cabin on the Hill" and have to say it was the most SENSATIONAL cabin and vacation experience I've ever had!!! EVERYTHING was EXQUISITE!!! The cabin was spotless, the bed beyond comfortable, the decor rustic and beautiful, and the fireplace sooo cosy!!! No detail was missed... from the heavy, cozy robes and slippers to the well-stocked and spotless kitchen, to the bathroom with a washer and dryer, and the windows everywhere to view the entire Blue Ridge Mountain Skyline and the valley of ripe, beautiful apple orchards. The fall leaves were in shocking, multicolored splendor from every window and vantage point!!! Situated deep in a forest, at the top of a hill, the privacy and silence is something I will miss and yearn for for months to come! The jacuzzi was heated for us and left on for the duration of our stay ever ready for us to enjoy!!!!!! It too was spotless and had wonderful, massaging jets. The rocking chairs on the porch next to the jacuzzi also added the most perfect touch!!! I guess I could go on and on about how lovely our stay at the "Cabin on the Hill" was. Before I close though, I would like to add that Kaye, who owns the property was welcoming, kind, knowledgable and thorough in her explanation of where to hike and where to go to explore the area! She even brought us delicious apples from the orchard... such a wonderful Fall treat! I shall miss every second that I stayed at the Cabins at Clear Creek and have promised myself to return again and again and again!!!
