- This is a fantastic beach for walking, clamming, etc. When the tide is out, it is out several hundred yards. The beach is almost entirely sandy (not at all muddy or silty), with a few places of smaller rocks for some interesting tidal pools - you can go barefoot. In the summer, the tidal pools are like bathwater. You can see the sunrise and sunset all year long. The ferries from Edmonds/Kingston are visible, as well as all the shipping traffic from Seattle (cargo, cruise ships, Clipper to Victoria, etc.). Seals, sea otters, herons and eagles are seen daily. Seals sit on the rocks a few hundred yards out. There is direct access to the beach from the house down 8 concrete steps and about 8 feet of rip-rap stones behind the bulkhead. For those who prefer a little smoother access to the beach, it is available at the gentle boat ramp a few doors down.

6 fully vaccinated good friends able to spend quality time together in this beautiful, comfy home was such a delight. From the view of Mt. Ranier, eagles soaring above us, walks on the beach, cooking yummy meals in the chef's kitchen, roasting marshmallows and making smores over the campfire, playing games in the large but cozy living area, all contributed to making this getaway completely magical. Top that with a property manager who made communication a breeze...we can't wait to return!
The family which included 8 adults and 2 grandkids (ages 3 and 5) enjoyed the place. Outside the neighborhood was quiet, clean, uncrowded and safe. The beach was a hit with everyone because they generally had the whole area for themselves. We dug clams, fished and walked the beach during low tide. Inside the house was very clean, the kitchen area had all the amenities for cooking, there was ample refrigeration units and both the recreation and game room were enjoyed by both the young and old. The hot tub also became a popular item. Corinnea, the property manager, was very wonderful resource on the island activities and was very responsive to our questions and concerns. Overall, a nice place to relax and unwind.
This was the perfect getaway for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The property has everything that you are looking for in terms of amenities. The best part was the the beach was literally just steps away and the kids loved going out on the beach every day making sand castles, digging for clams, paddle boarding and spotting wildlife which was plentiful (seals, herons, gulls, eagles, etc.)! We had a great time and are looking to forward to returning again in the future!
Just a great place to stay - period. We recently spent three nights here, with eight adults, three kids and a toddler. More than enough room for each to have their own space and still gather as a family around the kitchen, living room(s), gameroom and outdoor area. Great layout. Within five minutes of walking through the door, each of the adults said “this place is perfect”, while the kids shouted “this place is awesome”. Always a pleasure (and a rarity) to experience a “100% agreement” family moment, but this property is that good. The amenities and “inviting feel” exceeded the VRBO description. We didn’t find a thing lacking in this vacation rental and couldn’t have asked for warmer welcome or better stay. The rental agent was a pleasure to communicate with and the property owners even left a personalized welcome note to greet us! If you’re thinking of staying on Whidbey Island and are considering a rental property, the search ends here! Book it, get there, drop your bags and enjoy. It’s that simple.
The property is exceptionally well kept. in a quiet location. Restful and wonderful for family. We did move some of the items well out of the 3 year old's reach, but the floor plan was very family friendly. Overall a wonderful experience.
For a getaway with friends, this house fit our needs perfectly for serious cooking, lounging and beach walking.
Took a weekend trip with some friends and we had the most wonderful time! Beautiful views, esthetically pleasing and clean home. The house met all of our needs and the process of booking and rescheduling due to Covid was seamless. The property manager was fabulous to work with. We enjoyed our time so much and look forward to our next visit!
We were truly awestruck. The views are beautiful and access to the beach is fantastic. Our family drove in from California for vacation and were excited to spend a few days in such a wonderful place.
Beautiful home, view and beach. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and game room (parents did too). Great communication from start to finish. Highly recommend.
This house was everything that we imagined. The views were spectacular, the kitchen was very well equipped, and the game room was great. Our family of 11 had a wonderful time here celebrating our 50th anniversary and Easter.
We had a lovely time in this very comfortable, very clean house. The views were spectacular. We saw so many beautiful birds on the beach every low tide. The tide flats are huge and very walkable. An owl visited us one night when we were out in the hot tub. The game room was lots of fun, Roku allowed us to sign in to our streaming accounts and watch what we wanted, beds were comfortable. Recommend!
This house was just what we needed for a getaway. Our family, which was 6 adults and 4 young kids, had plenty of room to be very comfortable. The view of the water was breathtaking, and we had so much fun watching the tide go in and out. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!
The view was breathtaking and peaceful. We enjoyed it all day, everyday, with all the windows and the yard. The house had a great layout with great hang out spaces, and excellent kitchen utensils!
I booked this home for 4 nights to celebrate my upcoming big birthday (70) with some of our kids and 2 grandkids. It was great to have so many nice bedrooms and bathrooms. We didn't use the game room as much as I thought we would because we got about 6 inches of snow over 2 days so outdoors was lots of fun. Plus it is pretty cool to be in a hot tub when it is snowing. What we all liked was how homey it was there. The owners have lots of furnishings that are very meaningful so you could enjoy some family history, unlike some rentals that feel just like a rental. There was pretty much everything you need in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. I came prepared with lots of things that I never needed to use. The property manager, Corinnea, was fabulous to work with. If I had any questions she always got back to me immediately. We really appreciated the flashlights and the lantern, because the snowstorm caused a power outage one night but we lucked out. It was from 10:00 pm to 5:30 am. The neighborhood is a very quiet, small residential area so it is really important to be respectful of the quiet hours.
Property was perfect for the 12 of us! Plenty of room to play games, eat and hang out. Walked on the beach and soaked in the hot tub. Would highly recommend.
We had a wonderful weekend exploring the beach and enjoying this lovely home. The common areas are spacious, the kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable. We saw seals, eagles, and gorgeous mountains from the hot tub! Communication from the property manager was very prompt and helpful. We would stay here again!
This house was perfect for a pre-holiday get away for our family bubble of 8. There was plenty of room to spread out and having two master bedrooms with en suite baths was a huge plus. Although we were unable to enjoy many of the outdoor amenities due to inclement weather, there was plenty to do inside the house to entertain ourselves. We prepared meals together in the well-stocked kitchen, decorated Christmas cookies around the large dining room table while watching storms roll in from the south, sat by the fire in the comfortable living room reading or playing board games, and held foosball and pool competitions in the game room. We also enjoyed soaking in the hot tub in the rain watching the whitecaps and listening to the waves beat against the shore. This a great house for a group and we hope to come back once the weather warms up.
This home is beautiful, high quality home. Well appointed and good size for groups. It has places for everyone to enjoy their time from the massive hangout spot upstairs adjacent to bedrooms to the huge game area in garage. Not to mention the great outdoors. The beach is a perfect pacific northwest beach (it’s not California). The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need, including spices. We cooked up a birthday cake and birthday dinner with no problem! We will come again!
The house is located right on the beach in the quiet neighborhood. The view was breath taking and all of us enjoyed our stay.
Our family really enjoyed the relaxing and quiet stay at the beach house. It was so relaxing and there was plenty of space for everyone. The game room and hot tub were a great bonus for the kids. Thank you so much for providing such a beautiful vacation home!
Absolutely gorgeous location in a quiet neighborhood right on the water. Rode bikes, played games, relaxed and enjoyed the view from the hot tub! Fantastic! Will definitely be back in the summer!
This is my second time staying at this property. It is a beautiful home . Filled with everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay .
Clean beautiful property closer to the water than the pictures even portray. The beautiful sunsets and rises over the water were a family favorite. Very responsive owner. We will definitely be staying again.
This property is excellent for a family getaway! Fully stocked, great views, comfy beds, plenty of space for kids and adults to habe seperate space and luxurious! Only setback was no TV in main floor living space or gameroom (think football season, go hawks!) We would love to rent again in the future!
This was a year where a relaxing break was much needed and this property delivers it all. I tend to be overly curious about details and property management was prompt and gracious in communications with me. This house is directly on the bulkhead - my Dad and my brother fished from the yard (catching mainly seaweed!). Unlike some rentals, this house also has cable TV and even though some folks like to be screen free during vacation, we were intent on watching the Stanley Cup playoffs and were able to do so, which was GREAT. This is a beautiful, comfortable home where the details have been thought through carefully and I recommend it.
First of all - it is worth noting this is without a doubt the single best communication I've ever experienced with a VRBO. Corinnea was just different level. Thoughtful, responsive, thorough. Just remarkable. Would stay at any property she is involved with. The house is gorgeous and is extremely actively represented. Going to go through pros/cons: Pros: - The outdoor area is extremely well laid out. Easy to get shade or sun and the grill area is perfect for outdoor dining. - We found both the neighbors to be extremely nice. - The tides going in and out is really quite a cool experience. We had two 2 year olds with us who just loved bouncing around in the ride pools. - The kitchen is extremely well equipped. - There are plenty of extra blankets around the property. If needed (more on that later) - The wifi works well enough to stream online tv with no issues. - Very close to ferry - The game room in the garage is sweet - but also well thought out as you can hang out there in the evenings and not disrupt anyone else in the house (like asleep toddlers/babies) Cons: - The place needs some TLC. Small things like having to prop one of the two ovens closed with a chair because it doesn't close all the way, floors making your feet dirty about entering, doors/floors creaking, etc. Nothing catastrophic, but definitely needs some updating/a good scrubbing. - Probably the biggest disappointment is the air conditioner just doesn't hack it. We were there during a nice stretch of weather and it was very sunny with highs in the high 70s. Even with the AC on all day, you really couldn't get the house below 73-74 until the evening. Now, that'd be less of an issue but... - Most of the windows don't have screens and... - There are flies EVERYWHERE during the summer. - Finally, and again, this is a toddler thing, the curtains are all just OK. We ended up using the aforementioned extra blankets to black out some of the rooms as we had young kids taking naps. We would stay here again and potentially travel with extra fans as the house being a little warmer than desired was really the only true disappointment.
Had a wonderful getaway, would stay here again.
We so much enjoyed the view of Mt Rainier and the Olympics but most of all Cultus Bay at both low and high tide. The wildlife viewing was spectacular. The Game Room at the house was fun for the entire family also. This was one of the best family vacations ever.
The house accommodated our group well and it's location cannot be beat. We'll definitely come back again :)
There were 7 of us that stayed for a girls weekend getaway. The house was great and had all the amenities we needed! Thanks for having us!
What an amazing place! Our group of writers was thrilled to be able to spend a weekend at this stunning place. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen was very well supplied with cooking tools and dining utensils. We really enjoyed the view and the lovely patio overlooking the water. This is a very special place. We can’t wait to come back.
The property was well represented in the listing. Beautiful views and a great beach just a 5 minute walk away. Wind storm came through and power was out for several hours a couple times. Management company checked in on us and was very responsive with booking, etc. It had all the things, we may be back again!
The house was everything we hoped for. Highly recommended!
This home was impeccably clean, and the kitchen stocked with all the cooking, baking, and dishware you need to make it your home base. The views are so stunning you won't want to leave the house for a minute! Comfortable beds and an incredible master suite, a cozy living room with plenty of seating and a gas fireplace, plus a hot tub and firepit outdoors -- this house has it all! It was a great spot for a girls' weekend, and we hope to be back!
This was a wonderful location for a long weekend getaway with a large group. The house is well appointed, comfortable and inviting. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and baking. The view is even better than in the photos. We really enjoyed staying here and would do so again without hesitation! Thank you so much!
Wonderful property on the Puget Sound. Perfect getaway for four couples with room to spare.
We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. It was clean, spacious and very comfortable. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay on Whidbey Island!
What a lovely stay we had at Nancy's home on Whidbey! We gathered all the family and grandchildren, 11 total and enjoyed our week in this beautiful house. The sleeping accommodations were perfect, and we were even provided a pak n' play and high chair for the babies. It was delightful to be in the master bedroom, sleep with the door open and wake up to the most gorgeous views of the water. We even piled all the grandkids in the master bath for their nightly clean-up after a hard day on playing and exploring the beach. The three bedrooms configuration upstairs with the large family room made for a perfect away room. The living area was a bit smaller than the pictures portrayed but was perfect for gathering in for morning coffee and we did use the gas fireplace on one cool, rainy night. The kitchen was well equipped with pots and pans, dishes, spices, condiments and appliances and was perfect for all our at home meals. Every night saw us enjoying happy hour on the patio, grilling, and eating our meals outside (great dining table for 8 adults). The fire pit was perfect for late night marshmallow roasts...remember to buy your firewood before arriving! Of course the very best feature of the house is the location right on the water and the incredible 180 degree views! We were lucky to hit great summer weather and saw Mt. Rainer most days. There is a concrete wall beyond the grassy area and a rocky climb to navigate for beach access, but we had no problem, even with 2 year olds! You can also walk down the street a bit for easier access if needed. It would have been great to have a kayak at the house but the closest rental was farther away than we explored and we filled out time none the less. The tides were incredible, allowing for early morning clam digs and catching Dungeness crab...delicious! The location is in a quiet community neighborhood, with a non -intrusive neighbor on one side and a quiet street in front of the house. The drive into Langely is about 10 minutes and the grocery about 15 minutes, we stocked up ahead of time. We were lucky enough to catch the Whidbey Island County Fair which was charming and spent and an afternoon there, then visited one of the close-by wineries. I saw this house when it first came on VRBO and have been waiting for several years for an opportunity to book it. It was well worth the wait. I would highly recommend a stay at this lovely Whidbey home.
The ad specifically states “Low Bank Sandy Beach” in the title, and goes on to mention the sandy beach 3 more times: “Low bank sandy beach with bulkhead and nice concrete steps.”, “Amazing sandy beach location”, “The beach is almost entirely sandy (not at all muddy or silty), with a few places of smaller rocks”. That’s four clear references to a sandy beach, and access to it. This is a blatant lie: there is no “beach” at all. Oh, and the “few places of smaller rocks”? To reach the water requires rappelling down an 8-foot cliff of rocks, which extend all the way to the water. Note how the pics in the ad do not actually show the house in relation to the water. Go to Google Earth, and you will see the truth. Additional aspects of our stay that do not measure up to the level described in the ad: - We got a call 10 minutes before check-in that the stove was not working correctly. One burner out completely, and the other burner only started with a match. They said they would not be fixing it for us - Upon arrival thermostat did not work. After significant exploration we determined that the circuit breaker was off. How was this not verified to be working before we checked in? - DVD player was not connected to the TV. No instructions on how to do this. DVD door falling off, battery cover on remote missing completely - Round table in TV room rocks back and forth – unable to work or play games on it, drinks slosh all over the place - Xbox is useless: black and white only, but who cares: you cannot play anyway because all controllers were unusable, either from dead batteries or broken wires - First wine glass we picked off the shelf had a ¾ inch crack on the lip. 2nd and 3rd were so dirty they were unusable until we cleaned them - It is so bright that it is impossible to create a dark room while the sun is up. Master bedroom curtains are thin fabric; sun shines in full blast as soon as it is up (5 am). North facing rooms are bright before 6am, the slat blinds did little to dim them. Forget about taking a midday nap unless you can sleep in the sunshine - The floor creaks all over the house, especially on the stairs. It is loud enough to hear people walking from everywhere - Except for the new knives, kitchen utensils were old, cheap, mismatched, and highly used. Multiple burns, melted spots, and stains that would not come off - The “game room” is a garage – have no illusions about it
Our 5 couples, made up of long-time dear friends, spent our 20th Anniversary of our Spring Flings at this Clinton Beach Resort and we had a grand time! The wonderful PNW sunny (little chilly) weather gave us relaxing times on the waterside deck, porch, and hot tub spying otters, herons, eagles, and whales! The inside accommodations matched our outside thrills! We also enjoyed Whidbey's sites. We slept well, ate well, and this resort made it possible for us to enjoy and celebrate quality time together. We will come again! Communication with Betsy was easy and helpful. Few and minor issues: pool cue tips need repair, Amana oven door needs to close tighter, dishwasher did not release soap one time (could have been our error!), need more 9X13 glass pans for big groups; need more dining room chairs for table to seat 10 persons, dining table slopes at the ends. But, we survived and enjoyed our wonderful weekend in a beautiful, accommodating beach house resort! Thank you!
This is a great house for a family vacation! We hosted our two children and their families to celebrate my 65th birthday and Easter. We loved all the space, beautiful views and the awesome beach! The weather was even warm and sunny, so there was lots of beach combing, sandcastle building, yard games and making s'mores. We even colored Easter eggs and the little ones loved hunting for them. Betsy is awesome at responding to any questions and super helpful with suggestions. We had 2 dinners catered and I highly recommend Lis David at Magical Feast. The night everyone arrived we went to Rocket Tacos in Freeland. Wonderful! I was worried about the rocky beach wall, but we all did fine, and there were two 3 year olds and then grandparents in their sixties. There is the easier boat access down about 3 houses. Thank you for providing everything a family needs....great kitchen, games and books, beach chairs for lounging, and lots of towels. The grandsons are already asking when can we go back! We would definitely rent this house again!
We had a wonderful four days together in this comfortable and beautiful home. The view is phenomenal!
This house was everything we hoped it would be and more! 5 bedrooms, with 2 master suites on the main floor and 3 more bedrooms upstairs. The older folks stayed down, and we put the young adults upstairs. Room for games, puzzles, and poker! Betsy was amazing, answered our questions in a timely response. Plan on going back! Thank you so much!
We celebrated our Mother's 90th bday here. It was perfect in every way. Beautiful home. Gorgeous views of the sound, Mt Rainer and the Olympic Mountain range. Could not have been any better than it was. We will definitely be back!
This house was perfect for a weekend getaway with the aunties to celebrate my sister-in-law's baby shower. The house was well cared for, well stocked, and the views were spectacular! Betsy was extremely responsive and helped us find a local masseuse for the mom-to-be. We'd go back in a heartbeat!
This place is fantastic. We rented with a group of friends that annually celebrates a group of birthdays with a weekend house rental. We all agreed that after probably 10+ houses, this was our favorite. Beautiful well cared for home, amazing view, awesome experience. You can’t go wrong booking this spot (and we went in January! I can’t imagine summer there).
Our party of 5 adults and 5 kids (ages 11-14) loved this property and its location. Kids were able to clam right outside the house at night when the tide went out. Lots of activities in the house and nearby on Whidbey. Had a wonderful visit and highly recommended.
We loved our long weekend with our family, for our 35 year anniversary. Perfect house & plenty of space for 4 families. Us and 3 of our kids and their spouses and our grandchildren. Every thing was perfect and the view was amazing from morning to evening. Sweet, sweet memories 💕
The property is right on the beach whih allowed us to explore the beach at low tide at night with flashlights! It was great fun and the house accommodated all 10 of us very comfortably. I would love to stay here again.
It was a lovely home, which included everything one would expect from a high-end rental. Lovely sheets, plenty of towels, & a panty filled with spices & anything one would need to cook. Our party of 12 enjoyed the extras as well, shell collecting, the supplied games & puzzles. It felt like a home, not a rental. 10/10, would rent again.
The property was as pictured on line with the exception of the big rocks to navigate to get to the beach . It wasn’t a big problem as those that didn’t want to climb across the rocks were able to walk 2 minutes to the boat launch . The layout was very comfortable and cozy . The kitchen had everything we needed, even a French Press ! One reviewer noted that the silverware was limited so we brought some plastic forks and spoons and that worked well . Everything was very clean with nice linens and comfortable furniture and beds . It’s a beautiful home on a beautiful beach with amazing views of ships and sea life .
Our family and friends truly enjoyed our week at the Whidbey Beach Retreat. As soon as we walked through the front door, it felt like home (even though it would be just for a week). It was what our group needed - a place to relax, read, stroll the beach during low tide, enjoy the view, hunt for clams & crabs (with license), kayak, grill and to simply enjoy each other's company. The open floor plan and the indoor/outdoor space was conducive for gathering together and enjoying meals. The house was well appointed with pretty much everything we needed. The host was also very responsive to any questions we had during our stay. Thank you Whidbey Beach Retreat for a fabulous week!
The photos make the house look nicer than it is. It's a nice house, but not a luxury home. We left feeling like we paid too much compared to similar Whidbey properties. There is a long list of house rules - especially rules for kids - that should be disclosed before booking. The house is outfitted with antiques, white furniture and a large special rug. Rules like please don't let kids touch the 100 year old book collection that is at knee height. If we had been given these rules to begin with we would have known this was not the right house for our group with young children. Our relaxing vacation turned in to a vacation of telling our kids not to touch anything in the house. The kitchen is smaller than it appears in the photos (same with the living room). I walked the distance from the kitchen counter to the fireplace and it was 12 steps. This house states that is can sleep up to 12 yet they have 10 forks in the kitchen (1 or 2 have bent prongs). There is 1 stainless steel pan, 1 cast iron, and the rest is chipped teflon pans (which we did not use). The knives are very dull (and are request to be hand washed?). There is no panty or 2nd fridge, not ideal for groups who cook meals. The beach access should be disclosed in the booking information, it's hazardous to get there. The picture shows kids on the beach having fun, you can climb down treacherous big rocks to get to it or walk 4 houses down. While 4 houses is not far, it isn't what we were looking for. We were looking for beach access from the house with young kids. Also the tiny back grass area drops down over a retaining wall quite far and we never felt safe with our kids playing by the wall. In the grass area we found a piece of a broken beer bottle along with a ton of broken sea shells all while our kids were running around barefoot the first day. The neighbor's dog came on the property multiple times and at least once peed right next to our kids toys while the owner watched (and said nothing). Our tap water turned yellow and we had to drive 30 minutes round trip to get water right in the middle of dinner. The house was not cleaned well. There was dust and debris behind doors and furniture. There were coffee beans left in the coffee grinder (just showing it wasn't cleaned well). The plus is the view is really nice. The only reason we are giving this property 3 stars is because Toni was helpful but ultimately the house did not live up to it's pictures or price.
Our family had a good trip. Whitby Island pictures on Web sight needed updating and was not as clean or pristine as stated. This property is not Child friendly or friendly to older people. There are massive boulders that you had to climb down to get to the sand. Very very dangerous. The property manager was great. The Owner was not responsive to returning your calls. This property did put a damper on our 45th Anniversary! This property should not be listed as a premier VRBO. Make it safer and update furniture and clean it up.
We spent a week here for a family reunion of 10 adults and 2 children. Everyone enjoyed the experience. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The views are great and the younger folks really enjoyed the beach combing at low tide.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home!! The kids absolutely loved every minute of it from early morning walks (long walks) on the beach, playing in the game room, utilizing the sauna and toasting marshmallows on the fire at night!! The parents loved the views, the tranquility of the entire setting and watching the kids explore and entertain themselves without cell phones, spending money and utilizing their imagination. Spent many a early morning or late evening with the sunrise and sunset in a rocking chair looking at the ever changing landscapes and finding total relaxation. Would love to return for a girls retreat in the next year!! Many thanks again for extraordinary vacation!
What a lovely home with amazing views! This house has everything needed for an enjoyable group vacation. There was something for everyone...Relaxing with a good book on one of the nice lounge chairs, walking on the beach, paddle boarding, sand castle building, air hockey battles in the game room, large tables with lots of chairs for indoor and outdoor dining, fire pit for s’mores, hot tub, and even baking pans for birthday cupcakes! Thank you for sharing your home with us, everyone had a wonderful time and we will definitely be back again!
This was the 2nd time in this beautiful home. A perfect location with a million dollar view of the sound. The low tides gave one opportunity to hunt sea shells and for bird watching. The house is totally complete with everything one could possibly want in a vacation home. It is roomy enough for an anniversary celebration with 8 adults and one child, then again this time with a 5 Cousins trip. Our compliments to the owner of this fantastic home and a big thanks to them for renting it out.
Prior to our arrival, we experienced some miscommunication with the property manager that would have prevented us from accessing the house and could have been solved by a simple phone call, but because the house wasn’t locked up as it should have been, it worked out (for us anyway). The house is beautiful, in a great location with awesome views. When we arrived the grounds looked like they hadn’t been attended to in awhile (debris on porch & patio andwebs around light fixtures). Inside we found, many of the towels smelled sour, cobwebs that looked like they had been there a long time, and smeared/streaked windows (it’s hard to enjoy the awesome view through streaked windows!). We definitely left the house in better condition that we found it! Also, it was advertised the candles that were to be used were the LED/flameless ones provided, but only one actually worked. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and would have given 5 stars if there was a bit more attention to the detail in the little things that make a stay excellent.
We came to celebrate my mother-in-law’s 60th birthday, and it was such a fun weekend. The house is beautiful and feels so welcoming. The view is beautiful and peaceful. We all loved it so much.
Beautiful views. Wonderful house! Very clean, roomy. Comfortable beds. Loved game room!
we thouroughly enjoyed our stay, coffee with the view of Mt. Ranier in the foreground was a beautiful start to our days!
This house is positioned on a quiet street and everything about it feels calming. We had a group of 8 people and there was plenty of space for all of us. We really enjoyed our stay.
We've rented a lot of VRBO homes over the years; none nicer than this one. Beautifully situated, well-designed for a large group, well-stocked, and lots of easy/informative communications with the owners and managers. We got lucky with a sunny January weekend, and this home is well-situated with its south-facing aspect to soak up every single minute of winter sunshine. Eagles, seals, ducks galore. Great for grown-ups, great for kids; just great overall.
Had a wonderful 3 night stay with family after a busy Xmas. Fully stocked house and extensive room for 3 generations to spread out. Plenty to keep everyone entertained and great hints from the owner as to activities to do on the island. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, good quality linens and towels, and the layout allowed enough space to find a quiet corner to read a book while others enjoyed the separate games room. Extensive outdoor open and covered areas allowed for lots of options for seating and dining. Quick response to any questions we had which was wonderful.
Everything from the booking, communication with the Owner-- to the actual home was amazing. This house is gorgeous and out of all the homes I've rented with VRBO- this was the best. It was the best because it was well supplied in the kitchen with pans, pots, silverware, etc. Everything we needed was there. The house is well insulated so if people wanted to stay up late and play games in the garage- the rest of us could go to sleep in peace. The view is stellar- and gave us great inspiration for our annual team retreat. Thank you SO MUCH!
Fantastic Stay! Would recommend to Friends and Family... Thank You! Cpo
We enjoyed every minute of our stay on Whidbey. This house is great and the shifting tides and views of the water and wildlife are breathtaking. Worth the effort to get there and a real value to boot. We are already trying to figure out when we can come back.
Great home for a week stay. Adult children loved the games in the garage and adult adults loved relaxing on the rocking chairs!
Thanks for sharing your home with our family. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from fishing from the backyard, to walking out at low tide to clam to family pool tournaments. The kids loved the game room and the adults enjoyed watching the sunset in the evenings by the fire pit. We are looking forward to coming back in a few years and would love to stay here again!
Beautiful views! Rooms were all very comfortable. It's clear that the owner cares for the property and has put a a great deal of thought into making it special for their guests. They provided lots of extras, including a game room, a hot tub and recommendations for local food and excursions. If you are planning off-island adventures during your stay we strongly recommend that you read up about ferry schedules and fares. We learned that some take reservations and some don't and some times are particularly busy. We highly recommend this property for anyone seeking to experience an island retreat. Whidbey Island and this home in particular do not disappoint!
The house is beautiful! We really loved staying there. The rooms are large and comfortable. Five bedrooms means they have actually five bedrooms. It is right on the beach, which the children really enjoyed. We didn't have a stellar low tide, but still we had a lot of beach area to enjoy even with a +1.2 tide. Truly an incredible location! The beach is slightly more accessible via the boat launch up the road, about a five minute walk. Direct access can be difficult if holding a kid or dragging beach equipment down. I'd recommend bringing some firewood up or buying some off the ferry, we lit a fire every night outside and it was very inviting and good way to wind down the day. We really didn't leave the place, as it was so cozy and accommodating. Toni was responsive to our requests, of which we had a couple – but we had a few snags that detracted from a perfect experience. We had some issues with expectations – the kitchen equipment wasn't as nice as we thought it would be, we explicitly asked if there was a crock pot and there was not, which made one of our dinners a little complicated. The owner offered to pay for a new one, but we didn't want to leave the house, seeing as we'd have to drive at least 20 minutes to the hardware store to replace. The kitchen equipment is not as nice as I expected, dull knives and such, but I should know better than having too high of expectations. We also saw that there was a sun umbrella, of which we requested. Toni said it would be delivered by the maintenance person either the first or second day, but it did not arrive as expected. I had to ask a few more times via text to receive the umbrella, and it finally did on the third day. It was a bit of a bummer to not have, as the weather was nice on the first two days and we expected to have it after our communications. I think I may be coming across as overly negative. The house is gorgeous, the location is gorgeous, and my family and I really enjoyed the place. I would definitely recommend it to others. I wish we had a better experience with the maintenance man bringing the umbrella, but such is life. I'd also recommend bringing up any critical equipment for cooking, but other than that, you're going to enjoy this place.
We thoroughly enjoyed the house and yard. Got along fine with the neighbors.
Our family had a delightful Mothers Day weekend, relaxing and enjoying this beautiful home on the beach. The house is well furnished for a party of 12, and the children enjoyed the game room and access to the beach. We would certainly return for another family weekend away.
Great house to relax and enjoy the waves
Well stocked kitchen was easy to work in and had everything we needed for wonderful group meals. Game room in the garage was fun! Comfortable beds made for a great stay.
This was a lovely home with plenty of space for our group of girls. We loved being right on the beach and enjoying the beautiful views. Our host was very responsive and the home had all the amenities we could need.
Our Quilt Guild had a great time at the Whidbey Beach House. Lots of room for everyone to sew and talk and be together. It was a really stormy weekend, but the house was snug and warm and it was very cozy to be together while the wind and waves raged outside.
We loved the house. There was plenty of room for the kids to play and plenty of activities to keep them occupied. We had a bonfire our last night and enjoyed our stay!
Our group of friends stayed here for a long weekend and found it a perfect place to get away, relax, and have fun. The amenities provided are great. The view is amazing -- we all woke up each day and marveled at it. The space is really perfect for a group -- nice common areas for meals and hanging out, but enough space to have peace and quiet alone. We had everything need to cook, too. Thank you for sharing your wonderful house with us.
We thoroughly enjoyed spending New Year's weekend here with our family. The house was just as described in the listing. When we arrived the house was very clean, the lights and heat were on to greet us. Prior to our stay there was always a prompt response to any questions we had. The house was perfect for the adults and grandchildren! The bedrooms are very comfortable. Every room in the house has a beautiful view. The kitchen was great for cooking big family meals. It was a very cold and blustery weekend so the fireplace and ample comfortable furniture in the living room was perfect for cozy relaxation. The large screen was perfect for watching football games. We enjoyed the most amazing sunrises and sunsets! We would be happy to stay at Whidbey Beach Retreat again! Our stay was the perfect way to start 2017!!!
We absolutely loved our time here. More than enough space for our family of 7. We found everything in the house to be as described. The kids loved the gaming tables and beach. Gorgeous view of Mt. Rainer and the Olympics. I can't imagine anyone not loving this property.
This house was perfect for our group of 9 (6 adults, 3 kids) to enjoy our Thanksgiving getaway! There was plenty of space for everyone, ample seating, and you can't beat the view of the mountains from the hot tub. The game room in the garage and tv area upstairs were enough to keep us entertained when we weren't enjoying the view, the gas fireplace, or exploring the island. The house was well maintained and stocked with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, and we enjoyed how quiet the area was. We would love to return one day!
The home is absolutely gorgeous and well-equipped. It truly is a perfect balance of upscale, yet comfortable. Being right on the water with the sound of the ocean and those priceless views was outstanding. The owners were remarkably thorough and on point with communication throughout. Dealing with them in fact, was one of the highlights. They were kind, understanding, and very helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Amazingly beautiful home and location. The right amount of things to do and relaxation. We loved our stay. The owners were also great to work with. I highly recommend.
We couldn't imagine a better place to stay on Whidbey. The views, the water, the home were all absolutely top notch. We would absolutely come back. Just a wonderful experience for our entire family!
We were celebrating our 50th anniversary with 7 of our family all from San Diego. Everything about the house was absolute perfection. The view was magnificent where we could see both the sunrise and sunset. The home had everything we could need with very comfortable beds, fireplace, views of the water from almost every room, game room, well-equipped kitchen, outside fire pit for s'mores, and very roomy for 9 people. Nancy has made this a home away from home. We will be back!
We arrived and found the house exactly as described. Clean, bright, comfortable rooms, beautiful views. Perfect location on the beach. Kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed our meals at the outdoor table. Everyone enjoyed the game room area. Great place to spend some time with family! We would definitely recommend this house to everyone.
We arrived on Father's Day, June 21st and we were delighted to discover this property was everything indicated in the advertising...and more. The bedrooms were large and comfortable with wonderful water views. The many amenities from crossword puzzles to pool to a dip in the hot tub provide a world of fun. The living and dining areas and kitchen were spacious and well appointed. On a scale of 1 to 10 this fine rental home is an easy 10.
The house was beautiful. The location ideal! Nancy was a great host! She hired an extra cleaner so that we could check in a couple hours early and she was even there gardening and mowing the lawn when we arrived. Watching the sunrise on the bay with coffee and friends was unforgettable. Would recommend this property to everyone!
My family (6 adults and 4 children) spent a wonderful week at this house. I have to say that it is probably the best equipped vacation home I have ever rented. You name it - it is there. The game room was awesome for the after sunset nights and the rooms were spacious and very well laid out. The location is quiet and great for walking on the huge beach at low tide.
We loved the house and location - thank you for sharing! I decided to rent a house this year for my annual party as opposed to having it at my house and it worked out beautifully. The house is extremely well designed and offers both privacy and delightful community areas - the kitchen/dining/living rooms are an open floor plan and offer the most amazing views of the beach, water and islands! A big storm came through on Saturday and it was like being on the coast without the long drive. It was such fun to watch with a glass of wine and the fireplace keeping us warm! There are spectacular views from almost every room in the house and the outdoor areas are such a bonus - beachfront. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and the home was warm and cozy throughout -combined with a nice open feeling that spoke to the great design. The house is clean and well maintained and the owner was responsive and very nice to work with. Only tricky part was parking since we were all coming from different areas and at different times. Only 4 cars allowed onsite and the offsite parking was not within walking so do plan for this if it applies. Workable but a little inconvenient - the house and location are definitely worth it though. It would be a perfect place to rent any time of the year!
The house was absolutely magnificent. The setting was spectacular. The only sounds we heard were the tides going in and out, the shore birds, and the seals. A perfectly peaceful and serene vacation spot. The photographs on the VRBO site showed all the beautiful parts of the house. And we took tons of photos from the wonderful patio. It was also wonderfully handicapped accessible. Unfortunately, sightseeing with a person in a motorized wheelchair was limited in the older towns. We did visit the Whidby Island Vineyard and Winery, which was fun. But the house setting was so sensational that we never wanted to leave, and spent our time walking (for those of us who could walk) the beach when tide was out, and along the lovely country lanes. We are deeply grateful for the way the owner allowed us to accommodate our handicapped daughter's needs. This was a special and most memorable week for us all.
Everything about this home made our family comfortable. Getting to it was the hardest part but the directions were great. The game room certainly helped occupy the youngsters during down time. Thanks for making our early Christmas a hit.
This house exceeded our expectations. The hot tub was very clean and hot enough even during the very cold weather. Living room has a cozy no hassle gas fire place, kitchen was big and nice to cook in. But the game room really made it all worth it. The Foosball table is in great condition and is high quality as is the pool table. The air hockey table was a little on the weak side, as in the puck did not slide very well but it was usable. The owner is responsive and accommodating, a pleasure to rent from. The view is over the top - rent this house!
We had a group of 3 kids and 8 adults staying on the property and the bedroom layout was just perfect for the group - a set of bunk bed for the older kids, and all the rest of the party got their own rooms. The kitchen was great and well stocked with pots/pans/misc cooking utensils and even pantry basics. The hot tub was nice and warm with a great view of the water. The game room was of course the star attraction! Wonderful house layout, beautifully appointed, gorgeous water views - everything about the stay was perfect.
Our family stayed at this stunning home over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. There were 8 of us altogether and more than enough space for everyone. It may be hard to believe but the home is more beautiful in real life than it appears in the photographs. It was so comfortable, welcoming and spotlessly clean. We were fortunate to have 3 days of solid warm sunshine, and the balmy evenings around the campfire were stellar. Shooting stars were seen, local wineries visited and lots of laughs around the more than adequate dining table. All of our young ones were studying for midterms but the wi-fi in the home made it possible for them to do lots of homework and research online. So many positives. The owner was very easy to deal with. We loved every minute of our stay. Thank you Nancy and Al for providing such a wonderful piece of paradise for others to enjoy.
This house was a gorgeous spot for our retreat last weekend. So beautiful furnished, with all first-class amenities. The beds and linens were actually better than what I have at home, and there's plenty of room for the 10 of us to sleep comfortably. The house is right on the water, so we sat at the table and watched otters, seals and eagles go by. Really a step above typical vacation rental properties.
We had a wonderful weekend at Nancy's home. We had 6 adults and 4 children and there was more than enough room for us all! The children loved climbing on the rocks and looking for seashells on the beach. The adults relaxed in the beach chairs and enjoyed the spectacular view of the Olympic mountains and Puget. We also enjoyed the game room in the evening. The home is very comfortable, beautifully decorated and had everything our family needed to have the perfect weekend getaway. We will absolutely be returning to this house if we come back to Whidbey Island. Thank you!
We spent a weekend with friends at the house and had a wonderful time. Not only is the area great for a number of outdoor activities (hiking, kayaking, watching the sun set...), but the house offers a large number of ways to pass the time as well (foosball, air hockey, pool, XBOX Kinect, ...), so that the time flew by ... The kitchen is well-equipped and makes cooking for large groups easy and the sitting areas are very comfortable and cosy. All in all, this was like a mini-vacation without much travel :) We'll definitely be back!
My wife and I and newborn daughter stayed in the Whidbey Beach Retreat the weekend of November 19th. We needed some time just to ourselves and this home hit the bill. The kitchen was well stocked and even included an espresso machine. The hot tub is great with beautiful views across the water. In the morning we were greeted by a fantastic view of snow on the Olympics. The area and home is beautiful and we love to visit Whidbey. Everything was exactly as it should be, and we'll be sure to come back soon.
My husband, and I plus our 4 adult children and their wives and boyfriend stayed here this past weekend! What an incredible home that was perfect for all of us to be together but also have space to do things on our own or with others (like the game room or media room)! Everything that is noted on this site about the home is true! A quiet neighborhood made it nice, also! Close to Langley for shopping and exploring. The 180 degree view of the ocean was fabulous especially since the the weather was perfect! The beach was perfect for walking, exploring and clamming! We would definitely return to this home!
We spent a ladies only weekend at this lovely home on Whidbey. The house perectly accomodated our group of 10 - plenty of space to socialize and relax without feeling crowded. The location was perfect for a quiet retreat with amazing views right on the water! The house was clean, well-maintained and nicely appointed - we felt like we were spoiled!
Comfortable, relaxing, convenient yet secluded location, beautiful views, and tons of fun... even when it rained. It was better than we hoped for! We look forward to returning and highly recommend it to all!
