The Reefhouse is a peaceful Caribbean island oceanfront getaway. We offer one of the best values in Vieques!
Overlooking the ocean, the Reefhouse has panoramic views and is surrounded by a tropical garden. Enjoy sitting on the large patio with the sound of the surf and the rustling palm trees, while watching the local fisherman and sailboats, the ferries, and the pelicans skimming the waves. There is plenty of seating for outdoor, and comfy outdoor furniture for lazing in. In the evening enjoy the spectacular sunsets with your sundowner.
Often the local horses will wander by. Best to keep the gate closed or you may come back to find them nibbling the grass inside on the lawn!
The garden has a huge mango tree - buckets of mangoes in season; you're welcome to them and also to the coconuts from the trees.
The Reefhouse is decorated in relaxed Caribbean style. This is rented as one house: you will have full privacy. The kitchen is fully equipped. Good beds with high thread count 100% cotton linens. The living room has a TV (Dish cable), games and a well stocked library, and indoor .
There are beach towels, beach chairs , a cooler, hair dryers: just bring yourself! Wifi inside and on the deck (deck has some parts shaded all day and some sunny parts all day).
There are three bedrooms, one queen with ensuite (double walk-in shower) , one queen and one twin BR that share a 2nd bath (with walk-in shower) .
Washer and dryer in a large laundry room available to guests. Both queen BR's have AC's, and the third has a portable AC. And there is always a sea breeze.
The ocean is just below the house across a small shore road. A good swimming, sunning and snorkeling beach is a 3 minute walk (Lalachita beach).
Vieques has some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. Many are beaches with no structures near them- just sand and palm trees! They are on the former Navy land, a 12-15 minute drive from the Reefhouse. There is also Glass Beach in downtown Isabel, a short walk away, where beach glasss is there for the searching, and great beaches for walking close by.
From the Reefhouse, the shops, two bakeries, grocery store, health food store, a deli, bank, bar on the water by the ferry terminal, the lighthouse, the popular Coqui Fire restaurant, and more are an easy meander away on the Shore Road (10-15 minutes).
Vieques is easy to get to by a 20 minute plane ride from San Juan, Puerto Rico or by 30 minute ferry ride from Ceiba, Puerto Rico. Our property manager will meet you at the airport or ferry and ensure your stay is problem free. We're happy to answer any questions.
In Vieques there are no traffic lights and no casinos, but there are friendly people, good restaurants, and amzing beaches and nature. Vieques is home to the best bioluminescent bay in the world!
Ask for our brochure for additional details. (Note: We've owned this property since 2000 - VRBO says it's "under new owner or manager", but that's only because we started a new VRBO site. Feel free to contact us.)

Beautiful location! Convenient walk to town. Sunsets from the porch are spectacular!
This was a last minute trip and we didn't plan much or have high expectations - Just needed to get away. We ended up having a wonderful holiday! The house was comfortable and clean and big enough to rattle around in. The edge of town location was quiet and close to everything the town offers. Both the owner and local property manager were great. THANK YOU. We will come back.
Plan to spend all of your time on the patio overlooking the ocean, with comfortable furnishings, cools breezes, a shade sail, sounds from the waves and an amazing view! Fantastic location!!
We booked the Reefhouse for 3 days and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The view was gorgeous and everything was close by and within walking distance. We needed to stay an extra day because of weather and the property manager and owner were extremely helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend the Reefhouse.
Great place for my kids and husband to feel as if they were home. They enjoyed the ease in getting to the property and the quiet street. It was a great experience for all of us, but mainly it was a few great days to forget about everything in the states and focus on spending quality time together. Thanks Valerie!
Is a nice place. Needs some improvements, but comfortable. I bet hurracaine Maria hit it very hard because of its location, but it doesn't look like it did. Sorry to leave.,,😞
We were beyond happy with this house! It is a great location close to town, clean, and well kept with everything you could need. The view is absolutely amazing. Valerie was very communicative with great recommendations for our stay on Vieques. Kikito, the house manager, was great and easy to work with as well. I can't say enough good things about this property!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Reef House. We had been to Vieques twice before and had stayed in another rental, up on a hill. We loved that the Reef House was on the ocean, but elevated enough so that there is a breeze and we would be safe from tsunamis. :) The house is shaded by trees, and the sound of waves are ever present. We loved being within walking distance to town, and we watched surfers right in front of the house on one of the days when the waves were particularly big. We walked to town every morning (no threatening dogs on the way). A huge iguana visited one morning on the front lawn and deck. The coqui frogs made a lovely noise every night. I was happily surprised that we weren't near any barking dogs or roosters, which is common in many neighborhoods of Vieques. The power did go out a couple of times around Thanksgiving and the day after, but then never again during our stay. It wasn't a problem for us: we just lit candles and cooked using the grill! Overall, the roads are clear and the island is looking good since Maria. I think it's totally visitable now. The grocery stores were full of food; the beaches looked great (our favorites are Navio an Curacas). We snorkeled off of Mosquito Pier and saw a manta ray and sea turtle and tons of small, beautiful fish. Be careful if you hang out on the beach sand around dusk or if there is no breeze. Sand fleas were plentiful on the beach near Mosquito Pier, and their bites can cause quite a reaction in the unlucky person. We would definitely stay here again. Val was so communicative and helpful via email. The property was comfortable and secure. Quiet neighborhood overall. Just really nice!
Overall I had a great stay in this property, and had excellent communication with the owners of the house, and the house manager in the small island of Vieques. I had a very pleasant experience, and when I go back to Vieques, I would not think twice about staying here again! Vieques is doing well and needs more people to visits its many beauties.
The beautiful view from the house listening to the sound of the waves made our evenings so memorable. The house is well equipped we were lacking nothing. Valerie was very attentive and kind. Communication was easy and fast. Thank you for everything! Kikito, the local property manager, was very helpful and diligent. Our stay was simply amazing! Highly recommended!
Vieques is back to getting on track, and we are happy to see this lovely island getting over the effects of Hurricane Maria. We wanted to go and be part of helping Vieques through this winter and were glad to see that the visitors are coming back. The beaches remain fabulous, although with fewer trees than before, but nature is strong and everywhere things are growing. Most of the restaurants have reopened. We've stayed before at the Reefhouse, and it is what it advertises . It's comfortable with a well-stocked library, good beds and linens, lots of info on things to see and do, wifi on the deck (or inside). Well stocked kitchen. Kikito the house manager is always available. The deck is the best part and we spent any time we're at the house on the deck, watching the pelicans fly by, the surfers on wavy days, the fishing boats, and always the sound of the waves. It's an easy few minute walk to Al's by the ferry for sundowners.
The house was very nice and clean! Well maintained and kept up! The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms were air conditioned which is a plus. Your just a minute from the ferry dock but away from it all as well. I highly recommend this nice home! The owners were accommodating to our transportation needs and trust me when I say that you will need a car, golf cart, or scooter and it's recommended that you reserve it way in advance to your arrival otherwise you won't get ANYTHING! Luckily for us the owner of the home has a local guy that we were able rent an SUV from. This lady which was a friend of the house manager picked us up at the dock and she was very patient and helpful shuttling us around tell we were able to secure a vehicle! I highly recommend Reef House!
Lovely house and view. Good restaurants within walking distance. Away from really touristy area in Esparanza - very quiet. Great information about hpuse and Vierques provided by owners, and local house manager was super helpful. We had a great time!!!!
The patio alone at this house was magical. The view was spectacular, a great place to watch the sunset. If you want a spacious house on a beautiful tropical property this is the place to go.
Patio has great view. Twin beds were a little uncomfortable but queens were super comfy. House had everything you could need. We were 3 adults and 3 kids and were very comfortable.
We loved our 2 days of sunshine, beach exploration and biobay tour. Rent a jeep to enjoy the island to the fullest since the best beaches are at either ends of the island and the other main town of Esperanza is worth exploring on the south side of the island. The views are fabulous, the bedding is comfy (love the foam top) and the tropical shower in the master suite bathroom is wonderful. The kitchen is well supplied and even had many of the basics already on hand. (I especially appreciated the sharp knives since we are big veggie and salad eaters.) Didn't give 5 stars since the furniture and house is a bit dated.
This was a great vacation. Had everything we needed and more. Just bring your bathing suit and a smile.
Our family of 5 (three college-age kids) was very comfortable at Reef House. Continuous ocean breezes and the unbroken ocean view distinguish this property, which is very private (set above and back from the street) -- yet feeling a part of the local vibe, with occasional pedestrians and horseback riders (or just horses!) passing by but very little vehicular traffic. We rented a Jeep and enjoyed Isabel II (a minute down the road) and Esperanza, (15 minutes) along with our favorite beaches (there are so many to choose from!) all within an easy and scenic drive. It was great to discover Vieques with Reef House as home base.
This is a lovely property. The view from the porch is beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet. Beds comfortable. Loved the island. Rent a jeep and explore the beaches. Great vacation!
We must admit that we had to adjust our expectations upon arrival. The house was smaller and bit more rustic than what we had expected. But we soon learned that was the case with many things on this beautiful island. And as far as homes on this island go, The Reef House offers a spectacular view, great location and mid-to-higher tier of accommodation relative to other places on the island. Overall, the home is a perfect place to enjoy your adventures on Vieques. The A/C in the bedroom is a life-saver (we stayed in July/August). It did take some adjusting to get used to the non-AC throughout the remainder of the home. The verandah/outdoor patio was perfectly appointed with comfortable chairs and two large tables that are great for outdoor dining. The awning is a nice touch to get out of the heat. The bugs of course are an issue but this is the case everyone on the island. We appreciated the basket of bug spray provided and brought some of our own. The kitchen had everything we needed in the way of dishes, serving platters, tupperware and more. The fridge ran a little warm (didn't seal well) and the dishwasher didn't work every time, but we were fine with washing our own dishes. We appreciated the condiments and seasonings left behind by previous renters. We made it work! The beds were super comfy and clean. We all had a great-night's sleep the whole week there. The bathrooms were fine (the big shower in the master is super convenient), but drainage in the guest shower was a small issue. The washer and dryer worked great and are a huge plus when washing beach towels and clothes. We never really used the living area - mostly because we enjoyed the outside. The WiFi worked most of the time (a few times we had to reset it) but the satellite TV never worked (though that might have been a blessing in disguise). Lots of great books and info for visitors to use. We also appreciated the beach chairs, umbrella and gear left behind. Perfect for throwing in a Jeep and hitting the beaches all day. Though larger groups may want to bring/buy/rent their own chairs (they only had 2 non-broken chairs), floats and snorkeling gear. And it may be worth buying your own cooler, too. For the price and the location, we would recommend The Reef House to couples and older families traveling to Vieques.
We have traveled to some nice beaches but let me tell you Vieques Island is the place to be. Calm, quiet and natural beauty. The Reef House was awesome, great space, wonderful views very peaceful. We will definitely be back.
We just returned from a stay at the Reef House, we were there from March 29 - April 8, 2016. This was our 6th visit to Vieques and our 2nd stay at the Reef House. When it's just my husband and I, we stay at a smaller villa. This time my sister and her husband we able to join us for part of the vacation. The location is perfect, the porch and deck become part of the living space. We're in our early 60's and walked to town almost daily. I'm guessing it's about a 10 minute walk so didn’t need to use a car for errand running. We had a family of 3 horses walking past a few times daily, that's always fun to see. The canopy was added since our last stay - a wonderful addition! This makes the porch usable all day, even mid-afternoon when it can be a bit on the warm side. I want to address a problem that a previous guest had with the refrigerator. We didn't have any problems, no need to wipe up any condensation at all. My guess is that the door wasn't closing all the way. You just have to give it an extra push, and check to make sure it's closed. There is a plastic container on the top shelf in the back that was collecting drops of water from the freezer, not an issue at all. In the 10 days that we were there, we only had to empty it once. Food was kept cold and ice cream frozen. The interior was super clean, no dust bunnies under beds. Beds are comfortable; linens are like we have at home and thick towels. Kitchen well stocked for cooking. Tip on which bedroom to use. The bedroom that has the best cool breeze is actually the one on the right and not the master. It does have AC, but wasn't needed. The breeze off the ocean has a clear channel down that side of the house. It was noticeably cooler :) A basket of left over bug repellent and sun screen from previous guest was nice, we used some, and left what we had brought. Same with condiments and food staples. Suggest that you check and see what is in the cupboards and refrigerator before heading off to the store. Side note: there are shopping bags for guest to use since the grocery stores don't use plastic bags anymore. We'd not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it.
Lovely location with gorgeous ocean views. The patio overlooking the ocean is perfectly beautiful and a great spot for meals accompanied by the sound of the surf. Beaches within walking distance are great for beach combing. The house has super comfortable beds and an impressive library. There are all kinds of games in the closet.
This home lived up to its promises: beautiful, scenic, well-equipped and comfortable.
We stayed at The Reef House in January 2016. The views from the patio were breathtaking, and the location was very convenient to Isabel. Kikito was very helpful, meeting us at the airport, and driving us to pick up our rental car. Please let me preface this with by saying that we have rented VRBO properties all over the world. We are low maintenance tenants, and have had excellent experiences in the past with the properties we have rented, the home owners, and communications regarding the rental. The outdoor pictures of the house were spot on, exactly the incredible view we were expecting! The house, in general , is in good condition. A few items should be attended to. Many of the kitchen cabinets do not close completely. A simple fix, adding magnetic or any other other available hardware to help the cabinets close completely. The refrigerator is very old, and had to be mopped out DAILY to keep up with the condensation, it was very bad. The refrigerator needs to be replaced, and I am sure this should not be a surprise to the owners of the home. The hall bath is in need of some updates...at least in immediate need of a new shower curtain liner. Our daughter and the friend she brought didn't really want to set foot in the shower in general, but had to get over it! We had no follow up from the home owners until today (2 weeks later), asking if we would review the property. Perhaps a follow-up email asking how our stay was prior to asking for us to review the property would have been appropriate.
We stayed for 3 nights and we so wish we could have stayed longer! Our trip to Vieques started out pretty rough. But then Josh and Kikito to the rescue!! We had originally booked another VRBO property in which they informed us the day we were flying out that they had double- booked us. Ugh!! So we were flying to Vieques with no place to stay. I found Josh's Caribbean Oceanfront (very last minute) and boy did we luck out! Not only was the house available but we were also able to book it within a few hours and had all the information we needed to stay for the next 3 nights. Josh was so quick to get us everything we needed. And I can't help but feel it was a blessing in disguise because this place was a hundred times better than the original place we were supposed to stay in (we actually drove by the other place). We spent most of our time on the front porch of the Reefhouse...absolutely gorgeous view and perfect place for coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening after exploring the beaches all day. The airconditioning in the house was a life saver bc we did go during a time that was super hot outside. I do recommend getting a car to explore the whole island which everything is literally within about 15 to 20 minute drive. If you don't have a car, you can walk to Isabell (the town where the ferry docs) and there is plenty to do there, but Esperanza was our favorite area and you do need a car to get there (about 15 minutes away). Josh had plenty of information about the island right there in the house and the WIFI was great so that we could look up things to do on Trip advisor if needed. I highly recommend this property!! I can't wait to come back to Vieques and we will definitely be staying at Josh's house again!
Great house and property! Everyone was very helpful and friendly.
Our family had an awesome vacation! The Reefhouse was well equipped, very neatly kept, and probably in one of the best location on Vieques. It has an unobstructed view and breeze from the ocean. Quite an adventure for our family of 5 (3 kids, 17,16, & 12)! We visited a different beach everyday and sometimes 2. The water and beaches were beautiful. A rental car is a must. The porch at the house was a lovely place to sit in the evenings relax and review the events of the day. The owner's and the house manager were incredibly helpful and super responsive. I highly recommend that visitors review the house notebook and comments of other visitors in the guest book as it will help you organize your time on the island to maximize the fun you can have on the island. If you have a larger family I would recommend that you bring another set of snorkeling equipment. This house fit our needs perfectly and I highly recommend this rental property.
My family is from Puerto Rico so I have been to the mainland many times but have never to Vieques. After my cousin & several friends recommended it, my husband and I decided to go with our 3 sons (16,14 & 7), we were not disappointed! The beaches were fantastic and the Reefhouse was perfect for our family. The view from this ocean view house was great....and the patio is the best part of the house. The house has everything you need to go beach hoping...beach towels, chairs, snorkels & masks, fins, a life vest, used by our youngest, a styrofoam cooler, & a cooler for liquids. Everyday we packed the cooler with lunch and drinks and headed to a different beach. Josh & Jacqueline were very responsive when I emailed them and couldn't be nicer, as was Kikito. We went horseback riding and did the Bioluminescence Bay on our last night - a MUST when in Vieques. Thank you Josh & Jacqueline!
Great location, greeted by Kikito and island horses. A/C units in two of three rooms works great. Need A/C in third room. Well equipped kitchen. But the PORCH IS A VACATION within a vacation!! I could've stayed there all week!
The Reefhouse was perfect! The location was within walking distance to town, a beautiful route along the water. There were beaches right in front of the house. Surfing, swimming, sunbathing, beach combing right out your front door! The house was so comfortable with everything you need. We even found a juicer tucked in the cupboard! Snorkeling gear, boogie boards, beach towels, sunhats, all there. Valerie supplied all the information on how to get to the Ferry, rental car information, the House Manager to pick us up when we got to Vieques. The island was amazing, we spent everyday at a different beach. You could spend your entire time just at one! Can't say enough good things about this trip!!
A lovely home that is actually right on the ocean with gorgeous views of the water and El Yunque in the distance. Well equipped, great for couples and families - our favorite rental on Vieques
Just got back from our wonderful vacation to Vieques. This home has an amazing panoramic view from its huge front patio. Definitely our favorite part of the house. The beds were very comfortable and the house came with a pack and play which was very useful. Kitchen was well equipped and cabinets had leftover seasoning/oil/ etc from previous renters which was useful.. We also added to that by leaving what we couldn't take with us. There were plenty of coconuts to snack on. We had a rental car and were able to tour the island a little bit. (Most side roads are not paved and can be very bumpy). Our favorite beach was half moon. Would have liked to visit Blue beach, but was closed along with some others. I read they were closing for a few months to clean up military debris. Unfortunately we weren't able to do a bio bay tour (full moon), but will hopefully be back and can plan that for our next trip. Overall had an amazing vacation and would absolutely stay at this house again. FYI/Suggestions for the house..... only 2 of the 3 bedrooms have AC. It did get very hot/humid at night and we had to pull one of the mattresses into another room to sleep. The shower in the hallway bathroom has such poor water pressure we had to all use the master bath to shower. Not a big deal and I'm sure It could easily be fixed. Some of the beach chairs are broken/rusty. Again not a big deal since we spent most of our time on the crystal clear water!
We knew the location of the home and were certain it would have an awesome view and be a super easy to walk to town. No surprises there. To us, it was the small touches that we noticed the most. Extremely clean (no dust bunnies under the beds), comfortable furniture including the beds, lots of water pressure in the large shower (a family of 4 would fit quite easily), large bath towels, etc. The owners encourage renters to not toss out items like condiments, coffee, and dry staples that you don't use up before you leave. This makes it really nice for folks coming in next, as some of the staples that are needed, are already there. Especially handy, a large collection of different SPF sunscreen. One of the nicest things about renting this home is that the owners truly want the renters to have a wonderful time while staying there. Communication was always prompt and extremely friendly.
the house was gorgeous - very private, close to everything, and amazing views. All the good beaches are on the Carribean (Esperanza) side of the island, the beach close to Reefhouse is just ok. The drive is short, about 10 minutes. We loved the fresh grouper and lobster from Pescaderia in Isabel Segundo. The Internet works! Acquired a new skill of opening coconuts with a machete - you can pick some up on the property.Beaches: Sun, Secret, Red, Blue. Lots of beautiful shells and intricate seaweed.
Our family just spent 10 glorious days in Vieques. We loved the island, and the Reefhouse was everything that was promised. The home was perfectly located...close to Isabel with a gorgeous view of the water. We never got tired of listening to the waves, and watching the boats go by. The Reefhouse is equipped with all that you would need on your stay. We cooked in most nights and took advantage of the fish market just down the street...bought lobster and grouper as soon as fisherman brought it off the boat. We loved all of the helpful tips left by the owners regarding food, restaurants, fruit market, and beaches. Our favorite beaches were Blue, Sun, Red, and Navio, and we loved our Bio Bay tour through Abe's. We would highly recommend Reefhouse, and we look forward to our next visit!
the house was excellent, comfortable, sound of the waves to sleep by, homey - one could stay for weeks here. There were lots of reference books and good tips from the owners. Most of the time we cooked at home and ate on the deck, but had a great meal at El Quenepo. Biobay was fantastic. We loved Vieques and will be back.
We had a wonderful two weeks at the Reefhouse in July. The house was everything the listing said. The owner had provided a very helpful brochure and answered all our questions. The property manager, Kikito, picked us up and got us settled in. The house is very comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen, great beds, a library and reference books - we would have loved to stay MUCH longer! When we weren't at the beach, we spent our time on the deck, with the sound of the waves, and the coquis at night. Red and Silver were our favorite beaches ,and we had great snorkeling by Mosquito pier. The house had beach chairs, snorkel equipment, cooler - and mangoes from the tree! We loved to watch the iguanas in the tree over the water. And the horses who ambled by. We walked over to the Mar Azul bar for sundowners and to watch the ferry come in, then dinner at Coconuts - recommended. Vieques is so laid-back and it was all so relaxing. We'll be back and we will stay at the Reefhouse for sure. Thank you!
We stayed at the Reefhouse from 6/11/09 to 6/20/09. The view was awesome. It was very comfortable and we had all the supplies we needed to prepare meals, we just had to add the food.Make sure to check the times when the ferry arrives and departs as the traffic is a little much, but with patience and learning the times you will miss the traffic jams. Blue beach and Red beach were closed during are stay so we went to Gringo Beach and snorkeled everyday from 10am to about 3pm when the locals would come with their families for a swim after a hard days work.We had the pleasure of seeing stingrays, starfish, parrotfish, angelfish, tangs of every color(powder blue, yellow/black stripped, naso tangs, all kinds),bubble coral, cleaner fish, brain coral.... I'm sure you get the picture) If you find your way to Esperanza make sure to have a meal at Bananas, you won't be dissappointed. They have excellent Red snapper and great salads. We will be coming back!!!
Wow! What a wonderful place to live while visiting Vieques. The house had everything we needed from snorkeling gear, a cooler, beach towels, and three comfortable bedrooms. We loved the beaches, bio bay, and everything we discovered on beautiful Vieques. Tom was right there to pick us up and get us settled in. Thanks for a great first time visit, hope it's not our last! If I go back, I saw no better place then the Reefhouse.
We had a very good time on Vieques and at the Reefhouse. The location of your house is fabulous, we enjoyed being able to walk to town (icecreams on the plaza) and to the beach. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, listening to the surf, eating our meals there and taking in the incredible views. The kids had plenty to do exploring the garden, chasing the lizards, swimming and snorkeling. The beach chairs and the bag with beach toys were excellent. The kitchen was well equipped with everything. We cooked almost all our meals at the house, therefore this was very important. We hope to return!
We stayed at the Reefhouse for 2 glorious weeks in January. The house was everything it was said to be - comfortable, great view, well-equipped, and an amazing deck where we spent most of our time, watching the water, the pelicans, the sunsets. We tried some good restaurants - Blue Macaw, Quenepo - but most nights we cooked and ate on the deck. We loved the wifi so we could sit on the porch - and our own papayas for breakfast. Snorkeling was the best at the beach by the house and beside the pier - starfish galore and lots of fish.
The Reefhouse outside of Isabella Secunda is perfect for many reasons. If I could only choose one thing to commend it, it would probably be its spectacular location. It is perched above the ocean, set off from the road, walking distance from town and amazingly separate from neighboring houses. It seems like a little paradise, surrounded by flowers and towering palms. If you did nothing else during your stay on Vieques but sit on the large, wrap around porch and watch the brown pelicans skim over the surface of the ocean, you would be perfectly content. But there are many other things besides the location to recommend The Reefhouse. The house is clean, simple and full of all the amenities island life requires – sun hats, snorkels, cards, books, ping-pong and outdoor shower and outdoor grill. Another notable aspect about this rental property is the obvious generosity and good will of the proprietors. Just by staying in their house, you know they love the island, and love sharing their house, There are many field guides available and personal advice about restaurants, beaches, walks, and island etiquette. You truly feel like they are sharing this place with you and they want you to see the beauty and diversity of a place they love and appreciate. In their library, they gently remind you to keep the field guides and reference books there, but to take a reading book with you or leave one of yours behind. We had a great time in Vieques……. at the beaches, at the bioluminescent bay and in the restaurants; but playing poker for hours perched above the ocean at The Reefhouse was a dream. We can’t wait to return.
We had a wonderful stay. The Reefhouse is restful, beds are comfortable, kitchen well equipped, library full of reference books. We spent most of our time on the porch with the sound of the waves and the pelicans and frigate birds flying by. And beautiful sunsets. We visited a different beach every day - our favorite was Red Beach. The beach by the Reefhouse is good for snorkeling or a swim - one day three boys on horses came down and urged their horses into the water. We liked to walk into town (a short stroll past the lighthouse) to get icecreams at Scoops. And sundowners at the Mar Azul. After two weeks we were just getting nicely slowed down! We'll be back!
we really enjoyed our stay at the reefhouse. it was very clean and well-equipped. the house itself was very nice to hang out in while our little one napped. the views are incredible and it is in walking ditance to the beach. the owners and caretkares were very responsive to our needs and questions. highly reccommend it!
We just returned from a refreshing week at the Reef House. The six of us would happily recommend it to any group. It is everything the website says - beautifully located, comfortably furnished, and well managed. We loved being right on the water as well as a short walk to town. The patio for morning coffee, afternoon naps, and sunset watching is beautiful. A great place!
We loved staying at the Reefhouse and would return in a second. It was spotless, well decorated, comfortable (great beds). The kitchen was fully equipped. We sat on the terrace, or barbecued overlooking the ocean and the fabulous sunsets. We swam and snorkeled at the beach by the Reefhouse, but also at many other of the white sand beaches ringin Vieques. Don't miss the bioluminescent bay - it's unforgettable.
We stayed at the Reefhouse for two weeks in July. It was wonderful. The house is beautifully situated on a nice piece of property overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The house was very clean & well equipped. (everything from snorkeling equipment to kitchen utensils to a well stocked bookshelf) .It was a great place for the children (ages 6 & 8) as well as the adults. The deck outside offers amazing sunsets & birdwatching. The grounds have fruit trees (while we were there mangos were in season. What a treat to have your own mango tree) & beautiful flowers. The caretakers of the house (Paul & Rikki) were always available for information and direction as to the best places to go, see & eat on the island. We had a lovely & relaxing visit. I would definitely go back to Vieques & stay at the Reefhouse again. Alyssa Abeyta
We had a great vacation at the Reefhouse. The kitchen is very well equipped and functional. The views from the large patio area are impressive. The house is in a quiet area, yet town is within walking distance. The owners and property managers were very helpful.
