We are delighted that you chose our little cabin on the river to relax and unplug for a
bit. We know you will love it just as much as we do! The Chimney House was built in
March of 2017. There was an existing rock foundation and chimney that stood for
years, lonely and desolate. We added the cabin, which is where we got the name
The Chimney house was built in 2017, thoughtfully designed for the perfect river get away. Located just off the banks of the Dry Frio (which is NOT dry!) You will find everything you need to rest, relax and enjoy your time at the river.
We have Wi-Fi, the name and password is in the house book.
The Chimney House is a one room cabin with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, queen bed, two single beds in the loft and an amazing front porch perfect for watching the animals and nature with a cold beverage or a nice family dinner. The porch has a comfortable outdoor sofa/chair/table group and an outdoor dining table. There is also a charcoal grill with all of the necessary grilling tools. This house is perfect for singles, couples or small families. ***Children should be old enough to safely climb a ladder if they plan to sleep in the loft.
The lot that this house is on goes all the way down to the river, although it is about 500 feet away. It is an easy walk down to a beautiful waterfront! The community owns a one-mile stretch of the river with common area on either side which is yours to explore while you are guests at the Chimney House.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great access to the river and had plenty of privacy. Cell phone connection is spotty but had internet. Perfect for some time to unplug and leave social media behind.
Beautiful area.. River was great! Loved feeding the deer. Wish it had TV but over all stay was nice.
We loved the comfort and solitude that this newly built cabin provides. Cooking was easy with a well equipped kitchen, and we really loved the remote natural surroundings where we spent each day relaxing in fresh water pools nearby or exploring areas trails with our dogs. Our check in experience was also excellent and got to meet our hosts who live about a mile away. Prior to check in, I greatly appreciated them sending us a list of tips and things to bring since the nearest store was over a half an hour away. Bathroom was small but totally functional, but we did find the curtain in place of a door a little weird. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience and are already looking to book a follow up visit soon. We would highly recommend the Chimney House for couples or a small families looking to get away to nature but away from the popular parks and tourist areas.
We had a fun time relaxing in the river and enjoyed the cute property and the huge yard! Kids always had something to do and the horses were our favorite to check out everyday! Garner State Park is nearby and the house had everything we needed!
We enjoyed our time at the Chimney House. We received plenty of notice on what we would need and plenty of essentials were provided on property. The water was a short walk away and there were times when we felt we had the “pool” to ourselves. We look forward to returning soon!
My family (parents and my two boys) enjoyed every minute . The river is at walking distance and the space was super clean and enough for all of us. We all have plans of coming back due to the excellent stay experience as well as the good communication with the property owners (Dan and Pat).
This place was absolutely perfect for our family of four. Located in the country, away from the hustle and bustle of nearby tourist spots. The river is just a short 3 minute walk from the cabin. The swimming hole is gorgeous and was not crowded with people. The cabin itself was adorable, clean, and cozy. The small ac unit had a little trouble keeping the place cool, but not to the point that it was overly uncomfortable. The host was wonderful! They did an excellent job communicating with us, and they ensured that we were well prepared for what to expect. My only regret is not booking the cabin for longer. We will definitely be staying here again!
This is a quiet place to stay if you don’t mind driving another 23 minutes to float the Frio. We enjoyed the Dry Frio on the property. My daughters loved the loft. It’s a beautiful drive to the ranch.
Beautiful property with water access, the perfect place to relax with family and friends. It’s way out there, which is nice.
