Our Sun Vista Getaway has 3 bedroom/3 baths and can accommodate up to 6 guests.
The main floor has a spacious open floor plan with a full wall of windows facing west over Sunlight Beach. This view has some of everything - amazing sunsets, the Olympic Mountains, vast acreage of wetlands abundant with wildlife, the shipping lanes and all of Useless Bay. There is a propane fireplace in the living area, television with Comcast and free Netflix movies. The deck is off of the main living area and has outdoor dining table and a gas grill.
The kitchen is equipped with all that you need for cooking - lots of serving dishes, glassware, pots & pans, baking pans, mixer, blender, crock pot, coffee grinder, electric tea kettle, full set of spices, cooking oil, coffee... and more.
There are 3 bedrooms upstairs - the master has a king bed, a private balcony and a large bathroom with separate shower and a jetted tub. The master bed and bath, including the bath tub, enjoy the same beautiful westerly view as the main floor. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the third has 2 twin beds. There is a shared bathroom with a shower.
The lower level of the house is a walk out basement that is a rec room. The rec room has a wood fireplace insert, a ping pong table, sitting area, sit up bar and a television. We do provide some firewood for your use.
Public beach access on Sunlight Beach is about a 15 minute walk from the house. We do have 2 adult/teenager bicycles available. Please bring your own bike helmets.
We have provided a guest information guide at the house. Please review when you arrive.
This place is nicer than it looks in the pictures! What a fantastic location with beautiful views and lots of attention to detail. We enjoyed our time here and will definitely be coming back to this area.
This house was a lot bigger than we needed but the location was perfect for us and the view of the bay from the house was fabulous. A little bit of maintenance and carpet cleaning is needed, but overall it's a great place to stay.
Loved the area - great view
We love renting this property.
We had a wonderful weekend getaway to Whidbey Island staying at this property with great views and everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
House was clean and comfortable. The view of “Double Bluff” was pleasing to the senses especially from the master bedroom balcony. The home could use attention to it’s curb appeal as the large work van parked along the driveway was a bit of an eyesore. A coat of paint on the garage to match the house would help. There are a number of detail items that could use attention such as patching and painting some of the walls.
We enjoyed staying in this lovely house, albeit we were not there much! Well appointed, very clean and comfortable. Only minor issue was the coffee machine didn't work but we were very impressed that the next day, a brand new one (still in the box) was brought over! Would definitely stay again.
Very comfortable and well appointed. Quiet neighborhood and easy access.
Wonderful property!! Plenty of space, beautiful view, has all of the amenities you’d need for a comfortable stay. Property manager communications were super clear and concise, easy to follow.
We loved the location! - could readily get to wedding events which is why we'd traveled from MA and D.C., but could also easily explore other areas and there's much on the island that is fun to see plus there are some wonderful restaurants/cafes. The weather was mostly overcast, so we didn't have the full view of the mountains as we would have hoped for except for about an hour or two one day - but we did get glimpses! - and the view the rest of the time was still absolutely beautiful, serene and lovely. Having the deck was just super when the weather warmed up - so peaceful to eat a meal out there or just sit and enjoy the surroundings. We loved that there were 3 bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. The huge wall of windows in the dining area to look out to the scenery was fabulous. There's a really nice small collection of books to meet various interests. Though I did give a 5-star rating, there were a few things that could be improved. We found that the drinking glasses in the kitchen were not sufficiently clean, and it would have been nice if the windows in the dining area and master bathroom were cleaned a bit more. The information in the book and on the refrigerator differed in some things, so it would be good to coordinate the information. Too, the basement is still musty (I remember reading about that before I booked from someone else's review, but I can imagine and appreciate that's not as easily fixed) so we didn't want to sit down there to watch TV (and wish that TV could have been the one upstairs in the living area!) but we LOVED playing ping pong. That was so terrific to have available. The system to get in and out of the house worked really well and communications were accessible, helpful and appreciated. We really were content there and I would very happily stay there again if I ever got out to Whidbey Island again. Thank you!
What an amazing week! We enjoyed our time at this wonderful home so much that we’re already looking for ways to come back. Beautiful view of the water and enough space for my parents, inlaws and our family of four. There are so many friendly dog areas I can understand why they allow dogs. My only gripe is there wasn’t garage parking and the kitchen appliances could use some updating. Other than that, it was wonderful wonderful wonderful!!
Overall rating would have been five stars were it not for a few minor issues. Screen doors have broken frames and do not operate smoothly. BBQ was unusable because heat could not be regulated. Master bedroom has a great view but a window shade at head of bed would be a welcome addition to block sun and heat. There were many comfortable chairs on main floor, but a single floor lamp limited reading to one location.
Plenty if space. Close to the store
We enjoyed Thanksgiving at this home. We had six adults. Plenty of room, clean, comfortable and everything we needed. Location was great! Views were beautiful.
Great location and the view was lovely House was very clean. Great yard for our dog. Only complaint was the musty smell downstairs (which is in desperate need of update). Big screen tv downstairs should be on the main level! The sofa downstairs is in need of replacement as well, so we watched the Seahawks upstairs on a much smaller tv. However, location & view made the stay worthwhile. Bedrooms and bathrooms have been remodeled and are nice. Slept very well, loved waking up to the view in the master suite.
We just stayed for the second time at this Clinton rental and loved it all over again. Very spacious and comfortable home with an amazing view and fantastic sandy beach. And the tide flats go out so far! We will definitely be back!
I can only give it three stars due to the cleanliness of the home. Dishes were dirty, the dishwasher had dirty standing water and when we emailed the management company to let them know, we never heard back. The house is comfortable, the location is wonderful, and the walk to the beach isn't too bad; I just think he could be managed better, and the home itself could use updating for sure.
The house seemed to have everything that one would need while staying there for a week. The bedroom floor was comfortable and spacious. Little things needed to be adjusted...jacuzzi access panel missing in master suite & no shelf/vanity space in shared bathroom to name a few. Main floor was great for a gathering. Kitchen was fully functional. Dining table was roomy. Sunroom was a nice bonus. Deck provided nice views at sunset & of the Olympia mountains, clouds permitting. Basement was spacious but needs to be worked on to bring it up to the standard of the upper floors. I spent my nights in the bed in the basement. This is a pet friendly house & if I had brought my pets, I would have been with them, in the basement, so it wasn’t an issue for me. It was nice and cool down there. Good place to sleep and would have been great for my pets. A good pet friendly house for the price. I had additional guests for breakfast and they all commented positively on the decor & features of this house as well. This house was as advertised. It’s location was 3 minutes from the grocery store & very close to great eating/drinking establishments. If I do return to Whidbey Isl., and I have my pets, I’ll look to book here again.
A great spacious older home. It fit our family well! We had a great Father’s Day weekend. It would have been nice to have walking directions to the beach described in the summary of the home. Overall it was a great stay and met our needs.
very serene just what we needed
Loved this house. So relaxing. So comfortable. 6 of us ladies had a craft retreat here and loved it. Very well stocked, we brought extra pillows and blankets but never used them! The beds were comfortable, even the “roll always” in the basement. The view is spectacular and the walk to the beach is enjoyable. The sunroom was our favorite hang out! The only “complaint” we had was the sun room has no lights or plug ins for evening gathering. Since we were there to craft the light was a minor issue, but we found a way! If there was a ceiling light in the sunroom it would have been too perfect! Next time we come we will bring out table craft lights and a extension cord! 😎 This place will be the top of my list for our next girls retreat!
We had a good time. The information given was misleading about how close it was to the beach, otherwise it was really nice. The house was very comfortable, and well appointed.
If you are looking for a quiet home with a view that is overall a very restful experience, this is a good choice.
The home has everything although the stairs were somewhat daunting for a group of 80 year olds. The drive-up appeal was somewhat lacking due to the old box van parked in the front but the view and location were very nice. The house is close to a really great market...the Goose. There is a lot to do and see. Some minor maintenance items need to be taken care of but there were no problems and our stay was most enjoyable. There were only four of us most of the time. The house could easily have accommodated six and more if there were kids. We would recommend this facility to anyone unless there were severe mobility problems.
Plenty of space for my family of 8. We had so much fun . House is fully stocked of everything you would need.
My family and I had a great stay here. Plenty of room to gather, or spread out. Comfortable furniture and great views. Loved the fireplace in the living room. The fan on the wood stove downstairs didn't work right, so made it cold down there. Plenty of books and games to keep us occupied for a winter weekend. We would love to come back to enjoy this place in the summer.
Great place for a family to stay. Nice view of the bay, the birds, the kite boarders. Great for walking to the beach. Still some finish work being done on the house, but not a problem for vacationers.
There were four of us staying over a long weekend. The house is spacious and has a lot of seating in the big room. Nice big table for puzzles and dining (at the same time). Kitchen is nicely equipped. The house feels a bit dated and worn. No easy access to the beach, although nice view. The upstairs main room could use a curtain on the window.
We traveled from Ireland with two small children had a great time in this house. The house is lovely and bright with beautiful views of the bay. We managed to block the waste disposal (Entirely our fault) and this was fixed within a few hours of reporting it. Very good. Frank
We had a party of 6 staying at the home, and enjoyed the separate spaces available for relaxation. It took a little bit to figure out the heat, but after the first couple of days, it was barely needed. Paul was very responsive when we found what we thought was a leak, and even took the time to turn up the hot water for us. Other than there being no place to store things in the shared bathroom upstairs, the house was a joy to stay in. My biggest regret is that I didn't realize you needed to take the ferry to travel between the island and Seattle; that was a big drawback for us, as we had planned a lot of activities in the Seattle area. One other note, we could not find access to the beach; you can see it from the balcony, though, and the view is beautiful.
My writing group had a weekend retreat at this lovely house. We were hoping for a quiet, spacious place that would allow us to focus on our writing. This house was perfect. Top things we loved: beautiful views of the bay from most rooms in the house. A surprisingly well-stocked kitchen with paper towels, Saran wrap, plenty of pots and pans, etc. Spacious living and dining room with a table that was just right for our group writing sessions. There were four of us, and we each had our own bedroom - what a luxury. (One of us slept in the finished downstairs area, and she said it was perfectly comfortable.) We had one minor issue with a smoke alarm battery, and the owner was incredibly responsive and helpful, getting back to us right away and walking us through where to find new batteries and put them in, even though we called after hours. A+ for friendly owners! We will definitely be back! Thank you.
We enjoyed staying in this spacious, light and comfortable home. Beds were good, the space was clean and kitchen well appointed. The deck looks out over a lovely view and it's an easy walk down to the beach along Useless Bay. We appreciated having the ping pong table and the comfy spaces to gather. Communication with Patti was great. We would love to come back again and stay here!
Very nice property. Was all that it claimed to be. The manager needs to be sure the housekeeping checks to see that all of the light bulbs are working. If the property will accommodate/accept 8 there should be 8 chairs for the dinning table.
We had a family get away with our kids and extended family for three night, and we were so pleased. The house was very nice, clean, comfortable and had an amazing view. One of the most relaxing trips we have had. The home was pet friendly which we needed, even stocked with doggie treats, bowls and towels. Also our kids found loads of crafts downstairs that kept them busy for hours. Would absolutely go back in a heartbeat.
The house is very nice with a homey feel. It was a family reunion for us and the house and property added ronthe pmeasure. The downstairs rec room provided entertainment away from the family room so conversation remained comfortable for all. Very happy with our choice and we expect to stay here again next time we come to the Seattle area.
We are thoroughly enjoying a thanksgiving vacation to this wonderful house. The views out over useless bay and the preceding estuary are gorgeous! It's so nice to stay at a pet friendly home that is so well cared for and maintained! We felt immediately comfortable and it has great spaces for our party of 6, two couples and two teens to both be together and have away space. It's so close to one of the most stunning beaches in the PNW and close to town ... great combination. Thank you! We took the advice of one of the earlier reviewers and threw in a set of cuttlery, since we had six people. There's cutlery for 6 or 7 and it was nice to have the extras with us, to save washing each set between meals.
I concur with many of the previous positive reviews - this house is ideally situated, comfortable, and the property managers are fantastic and easy to work with. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night stay and walks down to the Sunlight beach and neighborhood. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, and the view (and deck and sunroom furniture on which to enjoy it) were superb. That being said, there are some minor changes that would have made for an even better VRBO experience: - Housekeeping missed a few items in advance of our arrival, including food scraps on outside deck, some less-than-clean dishes, dishwasher soap and few burnt out kitchen lights. - This house definitely has a lived in (but comfortable) feeling to it - from scattered knick-knacks to electronics that are sitting out, but not connected, and other assorted items throughout the house. - We were disappointed by the selection of games and videos. If your tastes run past games and movies enjoyed by those older than about 12 years old, then bringing your own selection is a must as the few adult games seemed well worn or missing pieces. That being said, wifi service was plenty fast enough to stream Netflix. If you prefer spotless (more hotel-like) rentals than this may not be the place for you. However, if you want a comfortable place to unwind and relax for a few days, an easy rental experience, and aren't troubled by having perfect accommodations then I'd definitely recommend!
The owners of the home were great with communicating with me. They offered so much help and some great recommendations. Their website is very helpful as well. We took our mother to Whidbey Island to celebrate her retirement. There were 5 adults and 2 children. The house accommodated all of us. The house was great. The kids could play in the sun room while we could relax on the patio or the living room. The deck was a little shaky and could maybe use a bit of care. The kitchen had everything we needed. However, they didn't seem to have enough dishes and silverware to accommodate the 7 of us. We had to wash dishes after each meal. The neighbors were very kind and even gave us some of their delicious figs.
This was the perfect location to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday! We spent much time on the deck taking in the view and watching the changing sky, taking short day trips and exploring the southern part of Whidbey and enjoying nightly sun sets as we ate dinner. Patti and Paul were fantastic and made the week a special one. On our first day we gad an issue with a tiolet and they were very responsive. Thank you for a great week. I would absolutely recommend this property!
Our family enjoys escaping to whidbey island and this house was the perfect fit! We enjoyed relaxing on the enclosed deck while our dog watched deer and rabbits in the neighbors yard. The view was amazing! Everyone had their own space to spread out in. Our teenager took over the basement and the rest of us slept well on the second floor. The location was great, close to everything you need in south whidbey. Will definitely stay here again!
I would have given a 5 star but there were 6 adults trying to take a shower or bath but the water was Luke warm. Not enough hot water for one bath. It was 51 degrees every night so this was not good at all. If the water heater was fixed and worked (no we werent all taking showers and baths at the same time) properly it would have been perfect.Other than that it was a great place to stay. I just loved the open concept design of the house. The view was beautiful.
This was a great home for my family to stay over a long weekend. The views were incredible and the response time between myself and the owners was also great. The owners were more than accommodating. Thanks for a great experience. Would recommend the property for anyone looking for a vacation home suited for families. We hope to be back to Whidbey again soon!
Our group of five women greatly enjoyed our weekend on Whidbey. The house spaciously accommodated us. The kitchen was large and perfect for cooking dinner. We enjoyed eating at the large dining room table + the great patio set on the deck. The views are spectacular. Great location, close to ferry, nearby grocery store, plus easy drive up to Ebey's Landing hike. Also close to off leash dog beach by ferry & second off leash dog park even closer to the house. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone.
The home is beautiful with everything you need. Great setting in a quiet neighborhood. The home is spacious for large family gatherings. Plenty of room to roam. Sitting on the back deck with a view of the bay was amazing! Shelly and Patti were wonderful to work with. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you so much.
We had an amazing visit in our Whidbey home away from home. Everything was as stated in the rental information. The view was even more spectacular than expected. Patty had every thing ready and the home is well equipped for lots of outdoor activities. We loved just sitting and enjoying the view. This was one of our best family Thanksgiving Holidays with four adults and one very happy dog! Thank you for everything.
Our family recently had the pleasure of gathering for a weekend in this wonderful property. Our family includes a senior couple, 4 young adults, one child and one small dog. It was perfect. There was plenty of space. The kitchen was roomy and well stocked, and it had many of the comforts of home. We enjoyed working the jigsaw puzzle that was there and playing cards with the deck provided. Our three-member family stayed in the basement. While it did have the musty smell of a basement, they loved it because of the crackling fireplace. The 9-year-old thought it was an adventure to sleep on the spacious couch, and the dog was delighted to sleep by their sides. The older ones enjoyed the quiet of the upstairs bedrooms. We enjoyed outings around Whidbey each afternoon, and we enjoyed delicious food in quaint nearby restaurants. Sunsets each evening found at least one of us sitting on the deck and taking pictures of the beauty, and the early morning fogs brought out the cameras once again. The house is older, but we loved that about it because it seemed cozy and comfortable and allowed us to feel like we didn't need to walk on eggshells all the time. It was absolutely perfect as a gathering place for our family. We would definitely recommend this property to others. Roy and Cathye
We were on the island for a wedding, and we were happy to have found this home. It worked well for every one. We had young adults, middle aged, elderly, and dogs in our party which can be difficult to accommodate, but it worked well here. Everyone was comfortable and happy. The house had everything you would need, and it is just a short drive to Langley,Freeland, and the ferry. The owners were very nice to work with and accommodating. So it made for a great time on Whidbey.
This property is all about the view! You sit up high and back from the water, so have a cool panarama that includes the water in the distance, but also the marsh land in between. The open living room/dining area was really nice for gathering. We came with family and it was nice to have enough bedrooms to spread out. The master bedroom and 2 other bedrooms are upstairs, and the kids slept in the walk out basement which has a twin trundle bed (2 twin matresses). It's not updated and kind of funky in the basement, but there is a log burning fireplace which makes it cozy. The fireplace in the main room is gas. I'm taking away a star mostly for lack of updates in the property - it has an older feel to it. The sunroom is only partially finished and musty. Overall, though, we highly enjoyed ourselves and felt it was good value for the price.
This property has a beautiful view, enough rooms for 2 families and nice amenities included. Hosts are very thoughtful and professional. Looking forward to returning in the winter.
We just got back from a fabulous long weekend at this house and had a fantastic time! As the second group of guests to stay here, our group of three adults, one toddler, and two dogs had a blast. The house, though a bit outdated, had everything we needed to enjoy our stay: Gorgeous sunsets, a nice deck, an extremely practical kitchen, beach towels, a washer and dryer, a cooling system for the uncommonly hot weather, extra supplies (trash bags, toilet paper, etc.). We used the hot tub only to bathe our toddler and she was in heaven. This was our third vacation to Whidbey and we really liked the location--it was a quick drive to downtown Langley, Double Bluff Beach, Freeland, and Greenbank Farm. The neighborhood had great views and was safe and quiet. The Goose market was less than a five-minute drive away also. We hope to be back!
