Quiet time in the neighborhood is 10:00 pm to 7:00 am
Lovely beach, liked bedrooms on first floor, kitchen had items we needed. Nice neighborhood. Close to great beaches. could have used more dresser space tho...bath seat nice. Manager very responsive; replaced firewood on same day as notified. Thanks!
House was just like it was described. Clean, comfortable and welcoming. Enjoyed the beautiful deck and short walk to the beach. Located close to Cannon beach and area parks. Was the perfect family vacation!
This is the second time we rented this property and it never disappoints. Perfect for two couples. All the comforts of home and great location. Short path to the beach and close enough to restaurants and shops a short drive away. The hosts are extremely responsive and it is obvious how much they care for this house and take such excellent care of it.
We had a very relaxing and pleasant stay in this house. Right next to the ocean, with lots of birds, and everything you need in the house.
We spent 4 nights at this property and loved it. It is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood so for two people who don't like crowds, it was perfect! They provide everything you would look for in terms of the kitchen (even extra virgin olive oil!) and the living area. (even a throw for chilly times on the beautiful deck) It is just a short drive to Cannon Beach but you do have to drive to get food or go shopping-no stores in Arch Cape. Anyone coming from the north I would advise stopping at the Safeway in Seaside first to get your food, staples. Cannon Beach markets are small-but do have some variety. The Fresh Foods market has a great wine selection. The property was very clean and welcoming. The view of the ocean is much better in person than in the pictures! We loved watching and listening to the waves. Our first morning there we were the only people on the beach! You can walk as long or as short as you want to-it extends forever. For some light sleepers, there is some highway noise that comes through in the bedroom due to it being right near Hwy 101; I didn't mind it, but it might bother some. Honestly there wasn't much traffic when we were there but as it gets more into summer it probably increases. Overall we had a wonderful stay!
Our experience in your home was amazing! It was a very easy process getting settled in. The house was very cute and was perfect for the four of us. With only a two minute walk to the beach the house was in the perfect spot.
Everything was great...thanks!
Owners were very prompt with great communication. Very good instructions. Would definitely stay here again
Family had a great time. House is as described and close to the beach. Beds were comfortable and house was very clean. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
A great place to stay, with plenty of good hiking and beach walking all around.
Very clean, well decorated & maintained rental home with small peek of ocean, but beach only 1 min away. Bedrooms on lower level with kitchen, living/dining room on upper. Huge deck, recently replaced on south & west (ocean facing) side of home. Kitchen well-equipped, we cooked several meals there. BBQ on deck appeared to be brand new. Only minor complaint was that there was no kindling for fireplace & we would need to chop/split wood that was under tarp outside. Too much trouble - plus we didn't have any paper or firestarter tabs. But weather was nice so not an big issue.
The property was clean and as advertised. We enjoyed the wood fireplace, deck and the kids loved the bunk bed.
It was a very cozy and comfortable stay..we have no complaints. The location is in a nice and quiet neighborhood, very close to the beach. The ocean is within a stone's throw and a lovely view of the ocean right off the deck.
We don’t own our own beach house. We probably never will. But it’s nice to escape from our home every now and again (especially after this year’s lockdown). For our daughters’ third birthday, we wanted to do something special, maybe make some memories that aren’t within walking distance of our house. This house proved to be the perfect getaway. We found ourselves saying, “this is amazing!” And “this feels like OUR beach house!” And “I can’t wait to come back!” It exceeded our expectations as a property and was so incredibly close to the beach. We couldn’t have picked a better spot, and we can’t wait to return. Thank you!
We had such a fun time. Beautifully decorated rooms and a well-equipped kitchen. Beds were so comfortable. Hosts are amazing.
Beautiful and relaxing space. We were able to come in, use the space as if it was our own. The location is great for access to all that Cannon Beach has to offer and we were also able to explore down the coast a bit. Access to the beach was wonderful and many walks were had. Thanks for making us feel at home.
Just what we wanted for a winter trip to the coast. Playing out in the wind and rain and coming back to settle on a comfy couch by the fire. Loved watching the waves come in while drinking my morning tea. It was just as we expected from the pictures. The house was clean, and other than not finding a cheese grater, the kitchen had everything that was needed to cook a good meal. And found out my 5 year old is really good at pick-up sticks. Would definitely consider coming back.
Mike and Deb have the perfect family house on the coast. The location cannot be beat- we were 2 houses back from the beach, so the wind was calmer but the access was still steps outside the door. The house itself had a very well stocked kitchen, and literally everything else we could have needed in linens, accessories and entertainment. We have a 3 year old and we really appreciated the carpeted stairs, open layout and he loved the bunk beds! We love Arch Cape and how easy it is to get to Cannon Beach and Short Sands, but not have the crowds. The only note (which didn't bother us) is that the back of the property line is near to 101 so there is traffic noise on occasion. It was easy to tune out, but for someone sensitive it may be worth noting. We absolutely hope we get to stay again, it was a perfect family spot!
A well priced neat place for simple break.. had necessities and more to let you relax while being stone throw away from beach...
Very cool property at a perfect at a perfect quiet location. Two big bathrooms! What!? Well appointed kitchen. Super comfortable beds. Beautiful fireplace. My little girl loved it. Said it was her favorite house. She loved the bunkbeds! We just thought this was a perfect house and really appreciate it being available for us to rent.
Great location and nice house, well furnished.
We stayed a couple of days in mid January. The first night was stormy and we were cozy inside, playing games that were there for our entertainment. The second was one of the most beautiful we have experienced. The house is a short drive from the must visit Ecola State Park and close to Seaside. Would visit again.
The property is clean, well-maintained, and just as advertised. It is great for a quiet escape right off the beach. Access to the beach is just steps away. The only reason I didn’t give it five-stars on location and neighborhood is that there are no restaurants or shopping within walking distance. That might be a downside for some, especially once we get to the other side of this pandemic. However, the neighborhood is quiet and quite nice, and as I mentioned, has easy access to the beach, I would rent it again.
The house is literally 1 1/2 minutes from the beach on foot. Great views from the upstairs and peeks at the ocean from the downstairs bedrooms. Has some toys for the kids as well as books s as my movies. Our only issue was the scented candles and plug in things, but I think many folks don’t mind.
We have stayed in Arch Cape before and love how quiet it is compared to some of the more tourist heavy Oregon Coast locations. This house was perfect for me and my two girls. We loved the view of the ocean and enjoyed a walk on the beach, even in bad weather. We even got a chance to meet Jonathan the seagull!
We had a wonderful stay at this rental. It was clean, well stocked with the essentials (and then some) and had easy access to the beach. Would definitely stay again!
Steps from the beach! Clean and well stocked
After the way 2020 has been we (my Family and I) really needed something to remind us of how relaxing life could be just being together - this trip to Seagull's Landing was just that. Due to travel restrictions (Nov, 2020) my oldest Son in college and an Uncle could not make our stay, but for 4 people this property was plenty big enough for both sleeping, bathroom, and living space. The home is very cozy and inviting. Everything you could need is provided from linen to towels to cleaning supplies. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner - That alone should attest to how well stocked and operational the kitchen is. Lots of utensils, plates, bowls, and storage space. Plenty of room to prep and also to eat, either indoor or outdoor. You can see the ocean and hear it from the upstairs. And beach access is literally 1 minute from the door. Several of the hikes and other attractions are within 5-20 minutes drive. This was nice since most stores and restaurants are closed right now. We spend several days at the property and were not bored at all. The internet and TV functioned as expected. Don't expect cell in or around the house (I have AT&T). With as much rain as the property and area gets we made use of the fireplace often. They have wood inside for use and a pile that is covered behind the house that you can pull from. We used and replaced and left a lot already cut inside for the next guest. Sitting around the fire playing games and enjoying coffee really made it special. Communication with the owner was great. I knew exactly what was expected and exactly where to go or who to call if I needed something. They take such good care to see that everything is there I did not need to reach out, but felt I could if needed. Pay attention to their directions to get to the house as navigation will take you to the wrong side of the main road. Read it twice and print/download a copy because there isn't cell service. If there is anything else I can add it's that I really didn't have an expectation when we went to Seagull's Landing. I had hoped that it would allow my Family and I to relax and spend time together in a beautiful setting in a beautiful home. Because of the communication and care that the owners show it was literally the most relaxed I have been this year, and my Family has an amazing memory now of our time spent there.
We had a lovely time in Arch Cape. The house was cozy and clean. From the big things like a comfortable bed, beautiful fireplace, and ocean views to the little details like fluffy towels and sugar in the cupboard for my morning coffee, Seagull Landing was a great getaway.
House was very clean and well equipped. We loved the coziness of the fireplace. Beach just a short walk away and beautiful. There's a seagull named Jonathan that visits daily for treats. This would be a great setting for a family, as roomy and welcoming and comfortable.
This place is exactly what our group needed, quiet and restful. The accommodations were excellent and close the anything you need. We spent time walking on the beach and exploring nearby Cannon Beach. We will be back.
We loved the view of the beach and the close proximity to the water! We explored other beaches nearby and drive the short drive to Cannon a few times.
We had a very comfortable stay and will be returning.
The house had everything a couple or small family could need. Kitchen well equipped and easy. Good internet and tv for stormy days. Loved the decorative touches, especially the flower arrangements and poppy bedroom .
It was a cute beach place. It was very clean and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay.
Little ones were so excited to see the waves, rocks, shells and seagulls! We walked, talked, explored and relaxed. Such an important get away to see nature again and reflect on all that’s good in the world!
Very clean. Nicely decorated. So easy to get to beach. We loved the beach. Not as crowded as Cannon Beach. Close to other beaches and amenities. We had a great time!
Excellent location. One of the best we’ve stayed at on the coast. Already talking about our next visit.
The weather was perfect! The short walk to the beach brought us to a wonderful area of sand and surf. We used your kitchen for all of our meals and enjoyed our time at the dining table and on the deck. Your choice of art for the walls, particularly the artist depiction of the lite house lantern, and the Russian ceramics, were my favorite. Thank you!
Lovely layout. The ocean view is better than the pictures show. Quick walk to the wide open beach, no crowding.
Short walk to the beach, very clean, fully stocked, comfortable beds.
Perfect for family get away. We enjoyed a fire on the beach with dinner and quiet walks along the beach away from the crowds. Just what our family needed!
We had such a great stay at this adorable house . Literally steps from the beach and the perfect getaway from the chaos of the city . The owners are amazing at communicating with their renters ❤️
Great owners, easy walk to lovely quiet beach, fantastic tide pools, great visit to coast away from crowds. Will book again. Keep an eye out for the bunnies and birds out and about!
Thank you so much for this opportunity to stay at your house. It was BEAUTIFUL and my family as well as myself enjoyed our time. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE EXTRA STAYS AS WELL. It was short notice and you were very accommodating. Great stay and I hope we are welcome back. Thank you Neika
We had a great time there. The only thing we missed was having a recliner. I guess we are spoiled.
Mike and Deb, Thank you for this beautiful cozy home so close to this beautiful quiet beach--an easy one minute walk! Loved the deck for coffee time watching the crab boats and ocean waves and sunsets. Beds are exceptional! Fireplace and living area had plenty of sitting area. The kitchen table had two extension leaves and very comfy (4 extra) folding chairs. Enough to seat all 7 of us around the table. Loved the warm decor and many beautiful pictures throughout the whole house. Kitchen had everything we needed including spices. Lots of pans and nice dishes...even wine glasses. I had lived in this area for 15 years and this was such a nice place to feel at home again. My family and grandkids thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much.
Great but wonder about lack of second story fire escape
The property is located a very short walk to the Beach. You can see the waves from the deck. I really liked the fireplace. Everything on the property was as listed on the website. The location is really nice because it is a quiet neighborhood and close to Cannon beach. I recommend this property to anyone going to the Oregon Coast and will plan on booking it again.
We had a great time at Seagulls Landing! The house was very clean, comfy and well appointed. Comfortable beds, nice linens, the house was well stocked with paper products, spices, condiments. We didn’t want for anything. Deb and Mike were extremely responsive and had lots of reference material for Cannon Beach and the surrounding areas. We enjoyed our daily visits from Jonathan the seagull, along with everything else this gem has to offer!
We have stayed in many VRBO properties, each with its own charm, but this was one of the very best. We especially appreciated the cleanliness, the well-equipped kitchen (we are foodies!), the understated, but very tasteful decor, the really comfortable beds, and oh, yes, the beach. We had a great vacation.
We loved being away from town in a quiet neighborhood, hearing the sound of the waves from the house, the comfort of the place, and long walks on the beach every day. We will definitely stay there again!
Our family of four loved our visit to Seagull Landing! It was perfect for those like us who crave the quiet and peaceful setting, but also like to explore nearby towns such as Cannon Beach! The property was exactly as described. It was extremely clean and very homey! The Arch Cape beach was perfect - very quiet and just gorgeous. The resident seagull Jonathan visited us each morning and we looked forward to those visits each day! We would love to come back to the area and we would definitely stay in Seagull Landing again.
Great house, great location, and most relaxing vacation we have had in a long time! This house is perfect for any get away. It’s about a 5-10 minute drive from cannon beach which we LOVED because the beach was not crowded at all! We enjoyed all the privacy and quite atmosphere of the community where the house is located. We have only been home 2 days and already want to plan our next trip! This house and location does not disappoint
Seagull Landing is in a beautiful spot with a mostly deserted beach. The view is fantastic, every morning we watched the waves roll in. We enjoyed the easy access to the beach, to Manzanita and Cannon Beach. It was a great way escape from the busy world!
Clean, well decorated with a nice deck. Sleeping accommodations are really too small for 7 or 8 adults. The bedroom with the bunk beds is definitely for small children only. We made it work and enjoyed some family time but would not do it again because of the sleeping space. Also the beach access was not as easy for older adults as the owner said in an email. The family 80 year olds could not get down to the beach at this location. Didn’t have any communication with the property manager, re: low rating.
We greatly enjoyed both our stays at Seagull Landing (especially Jonathan, who turned up regularly). The housekeeping was first rate. However, it could use a little TLC. The deck is splintery and sagging a bit; the dishwasher rack wheels need replacing; finally, the mattress on the pull-out is rather lumpy. But we would come again.
I received conflicting information prior to the check in date but once I reached the correct property manager everything was good. It would have been helpful to know there is no cell service and that there are a lot of stairs.
The Seagull House on Arches Beach was exactly as advertised! It was convenient to the beach and major attractions, exceptionally clean, and well appointed. The sunny kitchen, dining table, and deck with views of the ocean were designed for relaxation as was the living room with fireplace. Clearly a great deal of thought has been given to providing the furnishings and other items needed by the visitor. The decorations were pleasing and contributed to a relaxed beach house environment. Instructions on how to function within the house were clear, concise and unobtrusive. Thank you guys!
Had fun for a three nights stay in your cute beach home! Found it to be well stocked for our needs in kitchen and bathrooms. What a lovely ocean view we had and enjoyable walks both on the beach and through the neighborhood of Arch Cape! We hiked Oswald West trail which was very muddy and many tree roots to maneuver. Cannon beach and Manzanita were a 5-10 min drive away so we had so much fun shopping. Your home was comfy and clean. We also enjoyed the visits from Jonathan each day. He kept watch over us even when we were sitting inside and seemed to enjoy our fun and music. We know he enjoyed a few bites of the bread we shared with him. Many thanks Deb and Mike!
This home worked well for a short beach get away. Access to the beach is good. The home is very well equipped. The beds were comfortable. Access to Cannon Beach easy.
Wonderful home. Well appointed. Comfortable. Great location.
Beautiful place for 4 adults and 2 small children. House was clean, owners very helpful. Fully stocked home close to ocean and 10 minute ride to town. Would come again. BEAUTIFUL PART OF THE OREGON COAST.
It was very cozy!
We had a bit of trouble finding the house in the dark. Aside from that it was great! Literally a couple of hundred steps to the beach and a short drive to Cannon Beach. Aside from the weather - constant rain and wind - we enjoyed our stay. The house is very comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed.
We've stayed in this house before---Seagull Landing---but this was the first time in the winter. All was very comfortable. Fires in the fireplace were great, but smoky a couple of times despite the damper being open. Plenty of dishes and cookware in the kitchen. Wild winds a couple of times, but we never lost power. Weather cooperated for a couple good beach walks. Enjoyed some shopping in Cannon Beach plus went to a great breakfast place in Nehalem. Relaxing 6 days/5 nights.
The owners were very easy to work with. The house has a terrific top floor with an open layout and partial ocean views. The kitchen is on the small side but we were able to make meals while weaving around one another. The downstairs has 3 bedrooms that aren’t spacious (especially the bunk bed room) but they were just fine for sleeping. The bathrooms were dated but again worked great. The house was sparkling clean, and there were handy cleaning materials available when we wanted to spiff things up (we were there for 6 nights). Highway 101 runs close to the back side of the house but that did not bother us. We all enjoyed our daily visits from the seagull. When you first arrive, be cautious on the deck by the front door during dark and rainy weather. We found it difficult to see the step up to the deck when we arrived after dark as the automatic lights that lit the driveway didn’t illuminate the deck and interfered with our ability to see the step up. Once we were on the deck and near the door, the automatic porch light was triggered. However all in all, we enjoyed our “early Christmas “ with our adult daughter and son-in-law and definitely recommend it.
I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the home. very quiet and an awesome view of the ocean. Always fun to fall asleep to ocean sounds. It was a very short and simple walk to the quiet beach. The seagulls were happy to see us and our crackers. There was one seagull in particular though we wanted to see. Jonathon was his name, part of the neighborhood we hear. We arrived very late our first night, so we didn't get a chance to see him. Second day went by and still no Jonathon (sad face). Finally our last day I went out to the deck with a cracker ( or 20) and guess who flew in out of nowhere ? YES JONATHON!!! It was pretty cool seeing him, I was beginning to think he didn't exist :) We hope to return again someday it was really nice.
Seagull Landing is in a very quiet community (mid-November) with easy access to a beautiful and quiet beach. House is immaculate, very comfortable, great linens, great ocean views especially from the deck or leather Eames chair. Plenty of room for 3 generations. Small, well-equipped kitchen. Owners very responsive, focused on their guests’ comfort while maintaining their lovely sea view home.
What a wonderful find in Arch Cape! The house was great. Plenty of room for two couples to spread out and have room to spare. What I especially liked was how clean we found everything. You can tell how much the house is loved by Mike and Deb by all the personal touches that are everywhere. The house feels like home and not just a vacation rental. We were only there for two nights but wanted to stay longer. We cooked one dinner in and breakfast every morning. The kitchen is very well stocked and the seagull visiting every morning was a real treat. The beach at Arch Cape is lovely and the fact that it is quiet is a real bonus. We visited Oswald State Park and did a little hiking and went to Manzanita to shop one day. Even though there is a lot to do at and around Arch Cape, I was happiest at the house, curled up in front of the fireplace or walking on the beach. Thanks, Deb and Mike! We will definitely be back!
The property was clean and comfortable, everything you would need was provided and more. The beach is fantastic just a short walk from the house, stunning views from the house. We had a fabulous weekend.
This house is wonderful! The view of the ocean was great even at night because one of the beach houses has a floodlight on the water. The beach access couldn’t be easier and you can walk so far! The beds were comfortable along with the rest of the furniture and the house had everything we needed. Thank you so much for a much needed vacation!
Loved the house and was really close to beach !
We had a great family vacation and enjoyed exploring the coast. Thank you for sharing your home.
We enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and inviting. There was a seagull that came twice a day that acted like part of the family. Watching the wildlife bouncing around was like being being in a Snow White movie. The kids loved seeing all the chipmunks & bunnies chasing each other from yard to yard. We will go back.
Our trip was great, Mike and Deb were very quick to respond and extremely helpful. The house is in a great spot and the perfect place for a quiet relaxing get away while being extremely close to both Cannon Beach and Manzanita as well as numerous hikes. It's got everything we could have wanted in a beach house.
This home was just wonderful! The pictures posted are exactly what you get. For our family of 5 we had great space to relax. The house was well stocked with everything we needed and the beds were so comfy! It was probably one of the cleanest homes we have ever rented! We truly appreciated that. The proximity to the beach was just perfect. It allowed for morning coffee on the deck listening to the waves, amazing walks at low tide and evening fires to watch the sunset. We had visits from Jonathan Segull on the deck many times throughout the week, our children loved feeding him! Arch Cape is a great location to use as a home base for being able to visit the little coastal villages. We really enjoyed exploring them. We had never been to the Oregon Coast and were just amazed at the beauty that surrounded us. We know that when we make the trip back to Oregon, Seagull Landing will be top on our list!
We had a wonderful stay at Seagull Landing! As one of 5 houses our extended family rented in Arch Cape for a family reunion of 44, my daughters and grandsons felt right at home. My grandson attending the University of Alaska in Fairbanks loved napping in the sun on the back deck. We enjoyed watching birds feeding in the neigbors yard. We rented the church across the way for family dinners and met on the beach at night for campfires. We were so lucky to have mostly sunny weather! A good time was had by all. Would definitely stay at Seagull Landing again!
We loved our stay! Super comfortable beds and linens. Everything was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed for some family meals. We enjoyed the fireplace, puzzles and especially having a fire on the beach. The surrounding towns are fantastic for hiking, beach exploring, dining, and window shopping. Short Sands Beach and the hike through the old growth forest was the highlight for us. Great communication and easy check in/out. Highly recommended.
My daughters and I had a wonderful time staying at this property. It had all of the amenities you could ask for. The house is spacious and has a great deck overlooking the ocean. It is a short walk to the beach and a short drive to a few restaurants and a grocery store so it is a convenient location. We enjoyed an evening campfire on the beach where we roasted marshmallows and hot dogs. It was like having our own private beach. It is important to note that this is a place to unwind and relax. It is quiet and somewhat isolated so it may not be for everyone. That being said, if you are looking to unplug for a few days and just enjoy the spectacular scenery with your friends and family, this is the place to be. My daughters and I are already planning on returning next year. It will become our yearly thing now and we are already counting the day until we return.
The house was immaculate and well equipped for our family get together. The location is great with easy beach access. We enjoyed hiking along the coast and local nearby parks. First time to the Northwest coast and can't wait for the next time. Would definitely rent this house again.
We enjoyed our time at Seagull Landing. This was our annual Girls Week trip of three sisters and our Mom. We were visited by a seagull on the deck several mornings. We also enjoyed watching the birds next door that came to the neighbor's feeders. Everything was clean and neat. Bedrooms, one bath and laundry downstairs. Living area, kitchen and one bath upstairs. The beach was broad and the access to it easy to find. We enjoyed walking on the long beach but found that tidepools were quite a walk away. I thought they would be right near the stairs down to the beach but they are 15 min walk or so down the beach. I rented this location because I thought I'd run down the stairs at low tide and explore...so that was a bit of a disappointment. Easy drive to Cannon Beach and up and down the coast. There is road noise, especially when trucks go by - surprising the first time - but it didn't bother us after the first experience. I found the Queen bed in the poppy room sagged where folks must sit to put on their shoes and get in and out of bed. The instructions for the phone (no cell phone reception) were inconsistent - can't make long distance phone calls per one document, can make long distance phone calls per another document. Also the wifi connect information was written in all caps. Took a while to figure out it was meant to be lower case. Also had difficulties following the instructions re. bungee cording the trash can lid so critters could not access. Fortunately we didn't have rummaging critters while we were there. Maybe a diagram would help. All in all a nice place. Other than the few minor things mentioned above, we enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
We spent a wonderful 3 nights at this cozy house. It was like walking from our home into another home away from home so close the the beach and ocean. We were so happy to find this affordable place for our family of 5. The Oregon coast has a special place in our heart and this home did not disappoint us rain or shine. Our first day was beautiful and sunny with the sun streaming into the east facing windows in the morning and the beautiful sunset from the deck in the evening. We could have a BBQ and view the stars after a day hiking at Oswald West State Park and a walk at Indian Beach at low tide. The next day was rain and we enjoyed being indoors for part of it, making a lovely fire after wading the the little stream coming down from the mountain at Arch Cape Beach and getting soaked but very happy!! The home has everything you need. It is spacious, comfortable, very clean and we appreciated how approachable the owners were. We also loved the daily visit from the seagull Jonathan! We hope to be able to visit again, we love this place!
We had a lovely time at Arch Cape. The house was incredibly well equipped, comfortable, impeccably clean and homely. The walk to the beach was a short 2 min walk and our children loved running along the beach and collecting sand dollars. The owners have a beautiful house and we would not hesitate to book this house when we visit Oregon again. Thank you so much!
Thank you for allowing us into your home, it is totally amazing! We have a very difficult time in the month of February every year. You see, we lost our beautiful son when he was 18 years old on February 6th, 2002. We lost him 2 days after my daughters birthday and 6 days before mine. It is still totally devastating for all of us. We needed to escape, just get away from it all. The beach was the perfect place, and it worked out that my daughter and her family were available for the escape too. It was so wonderful that we could all fit in the same home and enjoy each others company. The grand kids are so much fun, they take our mind off of some of the sad things in life that we face every day. Our son-in-law loves to cook and so we just let him wait on us all weekend, of course we helped with the clean up! The kids stayed downstairs, which worked out perfectly for all of us. The weather was beautiful, and the beach awesome. I searched for agates and jasper in the rocky part of the beach and found a few. I am a member of a gem & mineral club nearby, so where ever I go I'm searching for the perfect stone! We were very fortunate that your home was available for our escape. We absolutely loved our stay and are planning to return soon. Thank you so much! Diana Acosta
The property is great but the weather was lousy. Due to this, the power was out for quite a while which is a difficulty in an all electric house. We were very thankful for the fireplace where we could toast bread with cheese for dinner. Bob E
Thoroughly enjoyed our quiet getaway in this spotless clean home. Very nice quiet neighborhood on a private street. Easy walk down to the beach. Well stocked with everything needed for our stay. Owner went out of her way to make sure we were happy with both the house and the experience. If we decide to visit the area again we will definitely stay here.
Well appointed house. Even had a pail with goodies in it for my little granddaughter! Would highly recommend this property to couples or a family.
I'd come again!
Tasteful, clean, we'll equipped. Beach near and quick drives are stunning.
We enjoyed our stay at Seagull Landing. The house had everything that we needed for our stay. We would return there again.
Could use some upgrades!
Very comfortable. Enjoyed our stay. Too short of a trip to enjoy the area.
Bed very comfortable and home cozy. Location convenient. Kitchen utensils/equipment satisfactory.
My 3 friends and I stayed here for a weekend surf trip. We at all our meals here, prepared in the perfectly stocked kitchen. We enjoyed much good conversation around the table. All the spices, utensils, etc we needed was there. The place was quiet, clean, had partial ocean view, and easy access to beach. It was close enough to Oswald West State Park and Cannon Beach yet private. We would stay here again. Slept great. Clean. No complaints.
We had a very plesant, relaxing stay. The kitchen is especially well equiped, the bed linens very nice with plenty of warmth, and the decor cheerful. We found the house clean and well maintained. Our favorite beach walk was to Hug Point where we explored the caves and marveled at the abundant sealife around the rocks at low tide. It was fun to see the waterfall right on the beach - not like Carolina beaches at all! The location of the house is great for day trips up and down the coast. It was a great 4 days with our OR family including 2 grandsons ages 9 and 11.
Seagull Landing was a total joy to all of us. Nestled in a secluded neighborhood, we enjoyed the short walk to what seemed like a private beach. The home is clean, beautifully decorated, and the balcony gives a view of the ocean as well as a multitude of birds and chipmunks. The beds are comfortable and the house was well stocked. My sister enjoyed the available candles as we watched movies in the evening. We all enjoyed the privacy, and the early morning beach walks. (Bring your camera) In our last 4 years of having vacationed at the beach, this home rates as the best. The owners were exceptionally helpful and responsive to our questions. We would very much like to come back.
We had a great time, thank you! We Loved being so close to the beach access & the views were mesmerizing.
The home was pleasant and clean with nice views out dining and living room. Everything was easy to find and manage, had a close walk-out to a beautiful ocean. Never knew how mighty and vast the Pacific Ocean is coming from the east coast. The town was very walkable with friendly folks and enjoyable food. what a warm and welcome home!
We enjoyed the house and the beach. The kids really had fun playing in and around the creek running to the ocean. Also, close to shopping & restaurants of Cannon Beach etc.
We enjoyed our stay at Seagull Landing. The beach house had a lot of extra touches that made it very worthwhile. Our daughter was so happy to be that close to the beach. The bedrooms were great. Everything was just as explained in the description. Thank you!
Very nice, very clean, cozy home, with a handy well stocked kitchen and loved the bright eating area looking out at the ocean. The kids loved the bunk beds!
The information provided by the owners was most helpful prior to the visit. Location was good, and decor was uplifting and bright. Everything is there that we could need. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well equipped. We walked down to the beach access, but were disappointed to find the beach so rocky. It was not a place that was comfortable to beach walk. We had to drive to a beach that was more sand. Only other concern was that the fireplace did not vent well and there was accumulated smoke in the house so we didn't use it after that. The vent was open all the way, and the fire did burn hot, and smoke was going up thru the damper, but may need to be looked at. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would come back again. Thanks so much!
We had a very good time @ Seagull Landing. The small burg of Arch Cape is beautiful and a must to see and walk around. We were there for our Thanksgiving holiday with family coming to share it with us. The kitchen is adequately equipped but it is small with not much room for more than a couple of people. We just a had couple of issues and when I sent the owners an email, they responded very quickly and were very apologetic, offered to fix it on the spot and make it right. That kind of response is very much appreciated! Thank you Mike and Deborah for sharing your place!
Nicely maintained home near the beach. Well equipped kitchen, great fireplace with lots of wood, and nice view of the ocean. Private, quiet area, some road noise from 101 nearby, but lots of nice surf sounds. Highly recommended.
This is a nice house that is a couple blocks from the ocean. The beds are comfortable, and the upstairs living area is great.
We stayed for two nights at Seagull Landing and enjoyed every minute. The home is located within steps to the beach and within 10 minutes of downtown Cannon Beach. We had scheduled our stay for a weekend when a terrible storm was set to hit the coast and so the owners of the property graciously reschedule us for a different weekend at no charge. They provided amazing customer service! The wife even called me to recommend some great places in town to eat and let me know they would have a child proof gate and high chair at the property. I can't say enough about finding this little gem. We will head back to the Seagull Landing sometime very soon. Thanks for a great stay!
Your home had everything we needed. The location was perfect. The beach was wonderful for walks and the view was really nice. We felt right at home. We really enjoyed just hanging out and our trips to town were great. Food was good in both Cannon Beach and Seaside. We will definitely keep you in our vacation folder.
A very comfortable and clean vacation home. It was a very short walk to the ocean. We totally enjoyed our stay and had no issues or problems. We hope to return there again next year. Thank you, Dave
This was one of our best VRBO, experiences. The beach was only 200 steps away. The house had everything we needed for a great family get together.. We would highly recommend this home
Mike and Deb have a wonderful place at Arch Cape. Seagull Landing is everything you see on the VRBO site and then some. Excellent value for the money. There were comfortable beds, plenty of linens and towels. The kitchen was the most completely stocked rental I've been in. Everything matched and there were lots of extras you dont usually get like coffee filters, garbage bags, cling wrap and aluminum foil, etc. The location is perfect. You can see the beach from the deck and it is just a short (200 ft as advertised) stroll to the beach. At low tide the beach is easily 300 feet wide and even at high tide there is some beach available.
We really enjoyed our stay! The home was very well appointed, especially the kitchen. We appreciated the high quality towels and linens as well. A little road noise from the 101 could be heard, but easy to ignore with the roaring surf. The best part was the two minute walk, through a glorious natural arch of flowering shrubs, to the quiet beach. Thanks a million!
Spent a wonderful week in this delightful beach house. Couldn't believe when we looked out of our window on the first morning to see chipmunks, hummingbirds and blue jays (don't get a lot of those in England!) House was so well equipped with loads of towels, cleaning products etc. Thanks for a great week.
We had an amazing week in Arch Cape. Seagull Landing was just wonderful! You cannot ask for a better location. You walk down the driveway, cross the street, and down a cute little path to, pretty much, your own private beach! It seems the only people that use this beach are the ones who can walk there and people just strolling by. Bonfires at night! The house itself was awesome. We arrived, after a long trip, and the kids were met with candy and games! They loved it. What a warm welcome! The home is clean, stocked with plenty of cards for the kids to play war and movies! The place was immaculate! Linens were not cheap hotel linens! Big, soft, fluffy towels - white for the adults and purple for the kids (phew...kids and white don't mix!). The kitchen was stocked with every appliance and cooking tool you might need! The rooms were neat with plenty of storage space so you were not living out of suitcases. Washer and dryer are modern and in great condition. We have only one complaint and that is the sofa bed. The bed frame was just awful and we ended up putting the mattress on the floor. It would not stop us from renting this place again but, next time we might bring an air mattress. It was the perfect getaway and I would not hesitate to rent this property again! They have thought of everything! You will not be disappointed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Seagull Landing. The home was in a great location and steps from the beach. It was very well equipped with everything we needed for a wonderful few days. It was extremely clean and well-cared for and you can tell the owners take pride in their home. We appreciated all the recommendations and helpful information the owners provided regarding the area and sights to see! We were six adults and there was plenty of room for everyone and we certainly did not feel cramped. We enjoyed our evenings with a fire in the fireplace and playing some of the fun games the owners provided. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a clean, comfortable, well stocked rental in a convenient location. Thanks for a great time!!! Visitors from Maryland
we loved our stay at seagull landing. the close proximity to the beach was great, the house was full of everything we needed and was comfortable. there were strong air fresheners in the bathroom and laundry room that we had to immediately unplug and put outside because of scent sensitivities in our group, but reading other reviews, it looks like efforts have been made to greatly reduce the amount of glade plug-ins so I appreciate that. maybe try some naturally scented candles or something in the future, they can smell great and scent a room without even being lit. our only roadblock we hit was when we lost hot water one evening and it couldn't be fixed until around 11 the next morning. we all needed showers at that point and lost half a day of exploring, sadly. however, the man who came to fix it for us was fast and friendly and we were back on our feet in no time. thanks for renting us your home for the long weekend, our group of friends is normally spread out all over the US and Canada and you gave us a place to come together and make memories, we had a great time. the highchair you have was appreciated too!
We really loved staying at your beach house. We had 70+ weather all 4 days, which made it extra-nice! We loved the quiet beach...we rarely saw more than a handful of people whenever we went out for a walk. We really enjoyed the deck---a beautiful view of the ocean, and the sound of the waves. The house had very comfy beds and nice soft towels.I really like the creative tile floor in the downstairs bathroom. The house is tucked in a quiet location with very few neighbors. Thanks for sharing your beach house with us. We will be back!
We truly enjoyed our stay at Seagull Landing. It had everything we needed and then some to enjoy our family trip. It was nice and bright, close access to the ocean and a nice view of the ocean too. It as nestled in a beautiful neighborhood. We would recommend to other family and friends. We are already looking forward to our next trip in the fall and hoping this place is available.
Great location and loved the fireplace! Wood was wet and difficult to burn. Beds comfortable, loved the deck.adequate space, surprised by layout with bedrooms when you walk in with living space on second floor.
Members of the group: Grandmother and Grandfather from the East coast Daughter, Son-in-law and Grandson from the West coast Ages 81 to 6 We all had a wonderful week. Comfortable, cozy, well sited house( tucked away ,yet nice view of the beach with very close access , delicious FRESH fish in Cannon Beach for our home coked dinners and very good eats when we ate out. Enjoyed nearby towns from Astoria to Tillamook. Jonathan Seagull visited twice. Weather was glorious for 5 days and not bad for two days. Beach was great , hiking was fun, views dramatic. We would certainly recommend this rental . Note: no cellphone signal until you get out to 101 ( just 5 minutes away ).
Wonderful place to stay inside and watch the stormy seas! Wanted at least 1 day stormy but got 4 instead!! The house was very comfortable and we had everything we needed We even managed to get into the house early , was very much appreciated as it was pouring rain Thanks so much
Seagull landing was a perfect place for three women friends to have a little reunion. The house is well equipped in every way. None of us was even slightly bothered by road noise. Our only suggestion regarding the house would be not to use plug-in air fresheners, their smell was overpowering, especially the one in the bunk bed room. We unplugged them all. The location of the house was great, a quick walk through a little tunnel in the bushes and we were on the beach. We were close enough to Cannon Beach to pop up for dinner. We went on several hikes and many beach walks. Despite much persistence by the seagull we did not feed him as we are well aware that feeding wildlife is not a good idea. All in all we loved our stay! Thanks to the owners and caretakers.
My family had a wonderful get-away at this comfortable beach house. The house is well-stocked with everything we needed including kitchen supplies, endless towels and even a first aid kit for my grand-daughter's splinter. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms large and convenient on each floor. When the younger family members went for a sunset bonfire on the beach, the owners left flashlight, hotdog sticks, firewood and beach chairs to use. I loved sitting on the deck and watching the ocean and wildlife. We had a fun visit on the deck from a friendly (and very handsome) seagull. He wanted to share in our afternoon snack. I later learned from the owners that the seagull's name is Jonathan. No one had time to be bored at this great location 2 doors from Arch Cape beach access, and near hiking trails, parks, caves, waterfall, fun shopping and restaurants. We hope to come back next year.
Excellent location, very tidy well maintained house. Comfortable furniture and beds/bedding (at least in main bedroom-didnt use other 2 rooms).Communication with Mike was excellent. Always rent homes with vrbo when we travel and would definitely rent again. Minimal people in the area since it is off season which provided relaxing evenings when we were in the house. Great star gazing while listening to the ocean too!! Thank you so very much!
We had a great time in this comfortable home. It was well equipped and clean. Easy walks to the quiet and peaceful beach and we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather. Dined in Manzanita and Cannon Beach, easy access to both. Thank you!
We truly enjoyed a great time at the beach, a couple minutes to walk down to a great walking beach, went every day, beautiful sunsets, long quiet walks, very serene, picked up goodies in Cannon Beach, Seaside and Astoria, quiet home, enjoyed the upstairs living & kitchen, prepared many meals, the BBQ was great, wonderful comfortable space for us 4 adults and 1 infant, we love the area and hiked at Ecola State Park, as well as the beach at Smuggler Cove, just a wonderful place to rest & relax
We really enjoyed our stay at Seagull Landing, great view of the ocean , and very short walk to beach, went down everyday. Has everything you need well supplied home, granddaughter loved the bunk bed, and the bucket of toys that was there for her. Bedrooms were downstairs on entry so don't have to carry heavy suitcases up stairs , bathrooms also nice. Lots of choices for sight seeing and many restaurant's even though we ate at home all but one night. Beautiful fireplace, wish we could have used it never got cold enough. Couple missing screens , nice deck for sitting outside or eating. Would love to go again.
Although a picture is worth 1,000 words, sometimes words from a previous guest can give a more accurate portrayal of a property. Across the street from the beach is somewhat misleading. Two homes are in front of this house (one is beach-front, the other is across the street from the beach) so I would consider this third row from the beach. Hedges separate front of house from busy Hwy 101 traffic. Audible hwy noise on back deck. Mattresses rest on platforms. No box springs and these aren't pillow-tops (hard!). No screens on most of windows in upstairs living areas means windows can't be opened for cross-ventilation. No ice maker (only trays). We are frequent VRBO travelers (we have 3 more VRBO vacations booked for the remainder of this year) & I have only left 5 star reviews for properties we have stayed at in the past. We've had wonderful experiences with VRBO owners and stayed in lovely places. Our experience here was the exception. At our 4 p.m. arrival check-in, cleaners still there. When we returned later to access the villa, upstairs toilet overflowed with first use (small, dated toilet). Unsanitary water tracked on carpet throughout home by cleaners. Toilet was not fixed until 3rd day of our stay. Noting dirty plunger that the cleaners had placed on the hair dryer and the long hairs clinging to the MBR blanket, we elected to clean cottage ourselves--after trying unsuccessfully to find a cottage to rent in the area for the remainder of our week. As stove-top cleaner & Dawn were the only cleaning supplies provided on arrival, we bought bleach and Tilex to clean everything ourselves. During our entire stay, the manager never came to meet with us or assess the situation. The owners live in NV & traveling in Canada with limited WI-FI/cell coverage. We were disappointed with the responses we had from both manager & owners. Although paradise was lost at cottage, we found it in the beauty of the surrounding area. Highly recommend Arch Cape area to future travelers. Hiked for miles along rocky coastal cliffs, explored tide pools, immersed ourselves in history at forts, increased our knowledge of Lewis & Clark Expedition & delighted in gorgeous scenery around every bend. Spotted humpback & gray whales in Depoe Bay with Carrie Newell, marine biologist, researcher and expert on gray whales. All the people we met were friendly & hospitable. We'll definitely return to the OR coast, but not to this property!
We greatly enjoyed our recent stay at Seagull Landing. It was so nice to be close to the beach which was much more peaceful than Cannon Beach. Easy drive to anything else we wanted to get to with outstanding hiking trails so close at Ecola and Oswald West state parks. Hope to come back some day!!
What can I say? As soon as we walked in the door it was like home. We put our stuff in the bedrooms and immediately walked down to the beach and the cool air felt so good. We did not even use the heater or fireplace. To keep the upstairs cool in the afternoon and evening while relaxing we just opened the windows and also the windows above the painting so we had a good cross breeze. We all agreed that the other windows should have screens. When the kids went down to have a fire and smores I had a visitor and was surprised by a bat flying right by my head. After a few flights around the living room he roosted somewhere and finally we found him attached to a dark spot on the fireplace. He was so tiny and my daughter took a photo of him. The next morning my husband found him in the bathroom and took the screen off and helped him back outside. We did all the things you would want to do: hiking and walking the beaches, tried different restaurants, visited all the little towns and the cheese factory,The Marine Museum, had a couple of fires on the beach, and my son-in-law and my grandson took a charter boat to do some deep sea fishing. Since my son-in-law is a great cook he was our chef all week and we had the best fish, crabs, steaks, etc. We forgot to take the rest of the fish out of the fridge when we left (had so much) so hope you won't be mad at us. My favorite visitor was Jonathan. As soon as my granddaughter and I went on the deck the first evening he showed up. We knew what he wanted, of course, and he came 2 to 3 times a day until we left. I hope I did not spoil him too much because I found out he also liked bacon, sausage, and fish. He took food from my hand on the last 2 days there. So fun. We saw other critters: the rabbit that lives there, racoons, squirrels, blue jays, etc. Before I forget, I noticed the downstairs bathroom doorknob may need adjusting and I had a hard time opening the door to get out. The water nob in the bathtub in there is loose too. I liked the little reminder notes you displayed. A week is not enough time there. We did not want to go home at all because the week just went to fast. Plus the scenery and coolness was perfect for us. Also, thank you so much for the gifts for my granddaughter. Unfortunately she could not take all that stuff on the plane but she had loads of fun. We bought her her first kite to fly on the beach. She found some neat shells and gobs of sand dollars. We all loved staying there. Thank you.
outstanding location home standing right near the ocean with fantastic mezzanine terrace looking over the beautiful beach. Very clean very cozy. Two minutes walk from the beach. Probably the best jogging trail I have ever had by the ocean with no one nearby
Our entire family including our daughters and their families had a great time at Seagull Landing. The home is well stocked and all the amenities are great. The only negative aspects are as follows: The temperature difference between the upstairs and downstairs was remarkable. It was comfortable upstairs but quite frigid downstairs. If there are more than four adults sharing a bed the pull out sofa is very uncomfortable. That should be replaced. The king size bed frame collapsed on two occasions as the bed frame pulled apart. Other than those items we had a wonderful time on vacation. Thanks for sharing your lovely home. We were comfortable and enjoyed the tide pools and many other towns in the area.
A very nice beach house. It met all of our expectations. It was easy to get to Cannon Beach and Seaside. We had a great time for spring break with the kids.
The home was clean and well-stocked. We had to walk only a few steps to get to the beautiful beach. Nice ocean views from the deck - it would have been even better if the deck was covered. The gas grill on the deck made family time at the home very nice. The owners left a little bucket of goodies for us upon our arrival (microwave popcorn, toys for the kids, snacks, etc.), which was a very nice touch! The beds were comfortable. The owners were efficient in setting up the rental contract arrangements and responded quickly to our questions. No issues whatsoever. It was an easy drive to Cannon Beach, Seaside, and Manzanita from Seagull Landing. We also ventured down to the Tillamook Cheese Factory where we enjoyed sampling cheese curds, ice cream, and a factory tour. My four year-old son recommends the Oregon Strawberry ice cream, while my 2 year-old daughter prefers the Udderly Chocolate. I had the Grandma's Cake Batter. It was fun. We enjoyed several good restaurants in Cannon Beach and explored the tidepools of Haystack Rock at low tide, discovering such a menagerie of sea wildlife and birds - loved the puffins. I worked out at Fit Manzanita which is adjacent to a spa there. There are also many stretches of beach that are conducive to long walks or runs. I would recommend this property without hesitation.
We had a great time staying at Seagull Landing. At 5 miles from Cannon Beach it was close enough to explore the town but far enough away to have a virtually private beach! The house was clean and the yard was lovely. The second story of the house had a soothing view of the ocean, which could also be seen from the master bedroom. We went grocery shopping at Safeway in Seaside (north of Cannon Beach) so were able to prepare most meals at the house, in the well stocked kitchen. We were only at the house for 3 days and wish we could have stayed longer. We visited Cannon Beach and ate at the Wayfarer restaurant and Ecola Seafood for fish and chips. We enjoyed walking the beach with our five year old, visiting the tide pools and playing in the sand. The sand toys and beach chairs made our time on the beach very comfortable. Our son loved the bunk bed bedroom!
Cute and cozy place. CLEAN! Enjoyed the fireplace in the chilly evenings. Beach access was so nice and Arch Cape is within 15 minutes.
The Seagull Landing has a really great layout. It is an upside down house so the living room, kitchen and breakfast area have a really nice view from the second floor. The living room is cozy and the kitchen was the right size for the 5 of us. The porch is on the second floor and is spacious. The three bedrooms are downstairs. There is a full bath on the first floor and on the second floor. The bunk beds are awesome for kids! Ours loved sleeping in that room. There were two things that made the stay more on the average side for us. 1. The heater is very loud when it turns on. And it is right next to the master bedroom. But it is loud enough that all of the bedrooms downstair hear it turn on. This would not be a problem in the summer because you would likely not need to turn it on. But with winter temps it can't be avoided. 2. The house is close to the beach, but it is also close to the road (but not directly on 101). Because the trees don't have leaves in the winter the road noise is probably louder than normal. It's not loud enough to wake anyone up at night. But when you are awake because of the heater then it is apparent. Please see this review in balance. The place is nice and in a good location. Just be aware of some of the limitations for the winter.
We really enjoyed our stay at Seagull Landing! Just a short drive from Cannon Beach, Arch Cape was peaceful and quiet. The beautiful beach, just a few steps away and so easy to access, seemed like our own private paradise. We were fortunate to have sunny weather so we spent most of our days outdoors. We walked the amazing beaches for miles, exploring the tide pools and birdwatching. Ecola State Park was a great place to hike and watch the surfers. One day we even went kayaking in Wheeler. So much to do and not enough time. This charming beach house was cozy, comfortable and very clean. We appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, good-sized bathrooms, one with a large shower, the other a tub, lots of thick towels. Most of all, we loved the large stone fireplace which we lit every evening when the sun went down. The views from the deck were magnificent and the sunsets - awesome! While in Cannon Beach we enjoyed great pizza at Pizza a' feta, very fresh fish and chips at Ecola Seafoods, a nice casual dinner at the Driftwood Inn, but we always happy to return to our lovely beach house. It was the perfect choice for our family!
What a wonderful place to stay, so close to the beach, and surrounding areas. We felt right at home when we walked into the house. Tastefully decorated and comfy furniture, with a fireplace to enjoy a cool morning on, made our stay that much more enjoyable. And yes, a seagull does visit and sit on the deck rail every night. Highly recommended if you're looking for a vacation spot to remember for a long time.
My wife, sister- and brother-in-law and myself experienced a wonderful stay at the end of the season. The weather was mixed and included a major storm, followed by another, but Seagull Landing kept us dry in comfortable surroundings.I suggest to anyone expecting to arrive in darkness to bring a flashlight for easy access to strongbox containing the key. Beach access is near and easy. At low tide you see many seagulls waiting to feed, so Seagull Landing is aptly named. The nearby community of Cannon Beach compliments the area with it's quaint shops. The restaurants were more than satisfactory, especially with the offerings of seafood and pizza. This was our second holiday home rental this year, the first having been near Edinburgh/Scotland in May. In both instances we were extremely satisfied with the professional rental arrangements.
Nice clean house close to the beach. Enjoyed the stay with our family. Bedrooms downstairs is comfortable for 6 (2 couples and 2 kids). Upstairs pull out is not comfortable to sleep on. Kitchen and living space is perfect for a family get together. Owners were very easy to deal with.
This property is very nice and very clean. The deck isn't huge, but it has a nice view of the ocean and the house is tucked away. We really appreciated how clean the property was- there was ample room for our family of 4. :)
Upon arrival, the house was clean and inviting. Only a short drive to Cannon Beach, Seaside, and Manzanita, the location was perfect. We loved having access to a private beach. It was a wonderful place to come back to after a long day of activity. Highly recommended!
The house is nice, and only 70 yards from the beach. Arch Cape beach is a treasure that we lucked out in discovering, thanks to staying at Seagull Landing. If you want the full windswept, rugged pacific beach experience with hardly anyone else there, this is the place for you. Only 5 miles from Cannon Beach, if you want a bit more hustle and bustle, but the solitude suited us perfectly. The kids never got bored playing in the sand and flying kites. The house itself is very cosy, with a log fire and a kitchen well stocked with utensils and cooking tools.
We traveled to OR from the midwest for a family wedding in Portland and then stayed an extra week on the coast - and we are so glad we did! We spent some time in Cannon Beach exploring the shops and eating some great chowder, and of course we spent a morning at Haystack Rock...but I am so glad we chose to stay in Arch Cape instead of Cannon Beach because the Cape is so beautiful and private. We went tide pooling everyday, visited Hug Point at low tide (don't miss it, this was awesome!), and just enjoyed playing in the surf and building sand castles. We filled the beds with 3 young boys (5&3 in the bunk beds, 7 month old in our travel crib), myself and my husband and my parents; but we never felt cramped inside the house, it was very comfortable! There were ample supplies of towels, kitchen ware, beach toys, laundry detergent, and the home was very clean when we arrived. We would love to visit again!!
Absolutely everything you could want in a vacation home. It was so nice and clean. Our grandsons loved the short distance to the beach as did we. Mike and Deb were awesome and we will definitely be back. Thanks for everything including a beautiful vase of roses and a cute welcome basket. What more can I say!!!
Seagull Landing is a cute house. The home is beautifully decorated and is very welcoming. The beach access is a very short walk (about 1 minute) from the home and it felt like a private beach because it was so quiet. We enjoyed a bonfire at the beach one night while watching the sunset. We also took a nice walk to Hug Point during low tide. The owners have provided everything you could possibly need at the house, including many towels, blankets, kitchen utensils, napkins, and marshmallow sticks. We had a wonderful time.
My husband and I have stayed in vacation rentals in the past, and this property is at the top of our list. The house was not only beautiful, it was immaculate and comfortable with lots of amenities that are not typical with vacation rental properties. It was as if Mike and Deb anticipated our every need and provided it for us, it was just wonderful. Arch Cape is also so peaceful and the beach is just breathtaking, with many tide pools and caves to explore. We especially enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of Cannon Beach, but still close enough to enjoy the restaurants and shopping. If you're heading to the Cannon Beach area, I would highly recommend Arch Cape and this beautiful home, you will not be disappointed. We are looking forward to staying here again. Seagull Landing is a definite 10!
We just returned from Seagull Landing, and can't wait to go back! This cozy house was a little slice of heaven. Very clean and well appointed! its a great place for couples or families. Note that the living area is upstairs, so it may not be suitable for anyone who is physically challenged. The big fireplace was a pleasure to enjoy after a chilly beach hike. We visited in late May, and it was chilly. The house is in a great location for beach and trail hiking, day trips to nearby towns, and minutes from Cannon Beach. (You will need a car while visiting.) The local restaurants were lovely, and welcoming. The owners couldn't have been more helpful....there were fresh flowers upon our arrival and very clear instructions for our stay...we felt right at home and we will definitely be back!
We would stay here again in a heart beat. Great little place with a private beach access.
Hi - Professionally, I'm a partner in a firm that consults to the luxury hospitality industry. As such, I've had the privilege of experiencing some of the best resorts and urban hotels that exist. My goal in looking for a house in or near Cannon Beach was dual - (1) book a comfortable place for spring break that was clean and well-located and (2) have easy access to a beautiful stretch of beach. Let me just say that the owners property are as user-friendly to deal with as you'd ever want, and ultra responsive, Not only that, be happy to pay the cleaning fee because the place is immaculate. It's extremely cozy and comfortable - a bulls-eye as far as I and my family are concerned - but part of what makes that so true is that it's extremely clean. Everything described on the VRBO website is accurate, but what isn't described is also wonderful: - I don't think I've ever slept on a more comfortable bed with more comfortable sheets - All the furniture is in great condition and very comfortable - I made pasta, but forgot to bring olive oil and needed one teaspoon - it was in the cupboard! - The washer and dryer are large load, brand new, state of the art - Furnace works beautifully - Home is warm and you just want to be there - The fireplace is wonderful and all the wood was beautifully set in and near the fireplace when we arrived - The owner's have a local manager who is totally available to respond should it be necessary - it wasn't - The kitchen is well-equiipped and there is a nice refrigerator and dishwasher - The bedrooms are all downstairs, so children or others can sleep without being disturbed by upstairs activity - There is a nice TV and collection of DVD's and videos - Internet access was wireless and zero problem; plenty of bandwidth - Beach access is a one-minute walk to a gorgeous beach that feels nearly private - Cannon Beach stores, etc. are easy to access - five to ten minutes. We only left the house once. My wife and our oldest son were on a separate trip, so I brought my dad and my boy and girl twins. Let me just say that not only was the house PERFECT for all of our needs, but I look forward to bringing my wife by herself, and my entire family again as well. While luxury hotels and resorts make an excellent effort to be your home away from home and to deliver exceptional experiences, I give Seagull Landing the edge - it's a special place! ;-)
Seagull Lanind is a very easy home to relax in, it had plenty of room for our family of four, and is a short walk to the beach (2 houses in front of it before you get to the beach). We all enjoyed it very much.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Seagull Landing. The house and property were squeaky clean and in excellent condition, supplied with everything we needed. The place matched the website description and had nice reminders throughout the house as to how things worked. We loved bringing our own food and being able to cook in a warm cozy environment - the kitchen was nicely supplied with various utensils and cookware. We even used the barbeque out on the deck one evening. It rained 3 out of 4 days so we really enjoyed the fireplace. Easy beach access from the house and we enjoyed watching the waves from the dining/livingroom. We specifically chose Arch Cape because we didn't want to be in the hub-bub of Cannon Beach. Our favorite spot was Oswald West Beach - a beautiful hike through the forest down to the beach (go at low tide) and walk along the beach out to the waterfall. Don't miss Ecola State Park with great views of Haystack Rock and Tillimook Lighthouse. Seagull Landing was everything we expected - you have a lovely home and we had a wonderful time using it - Thank You! Would definitely recommend this place to friends.
Though weather wasn't best for us, we enjoyed relaxing as a family at Seagull Landing. Very clean and well equipped. Really appreciated the new washer/dryer as we went hiking and got soaked! We ate out but enjoyed having coffee & muffins at the house. Fireplace was ready but we didn't actually use during our stay. Could see some water from house and walking on the beach was easy. The house is adjacent to main road. Though I didn't hear traffic, husband mentioned the trucks a few nights. Liked that is was a let free environment. The beautiful roses from the yard greeted us when we arrived/departed! What a nice touch! Mike was easy to work with setting up our rental and graciously shared tickets to the Cannon Beach Fireman's dinner which occurred during our stay. Thank you Mike.
If you started to read my original review, be aware that my cat just walked across my keyboard and accidentally sent my incomplete thoughts....maybe not so accidentally! I started to say that the non-golfing sisters rebelled against the golfing vacations year after year and we now alternate planning the Fall vacation...even though golf does seem to creap into the non-golf years! This year we spent a long weekend in McMinnville wine-tasting and then headed to Arch Cape for a week on the coast doing practically nothing except walking on the beach and reading, with a bit of shopping thrown in for good measure. Seagull Landing could not have been better for four adults who enjoy each other's company. The local art and accessories and the tasteful decor were a delight to eye, the art especially. Lots of information on local fun and games, where to eat, what to do. Kitchen well-stocked, extremely clean, quiet location, easy access to the beach, all just what the doctor ordered. We celebrated an anniversary while we were there and took your advice about Newman's at 988 in Cannon Beach. Dinner was superb, service excellent, wonderful wine list, an evening you would expect in a large city. In fact every meal we had in Oregon was above average. The boys played golf in Gearhart at The Golf Links and enjoyed the course very much (the girls were shopping). Seagull Landing is close enough to have fun and far enough away to be peaceful. Mike and Deb easily accessible by email and included a list of Best Bets that was very helpful.
I've stayed in this house many times over the past 20 years. I have always loved this house and it's proximity to the beach and to Cannon Beach! This time was no exception!! The new owners have done a great job in some new appointments to this fine home and it well-furnished, comfortable in every way, exceptionally clean, and so enjoyable for 3 of us gals to just relax, cook, and enjoy our wonderful OR coast! I would say the photos accurately reflect the rentals appearance but it's better in person! The older oven didn't quite cook to temp., so things took a little longer....but we just enjoyed another glass of wine:) Over-all, I would definitely recommend this property!!! The owner was easy to contact and also, very helpful in every way.
Excellent private place just minutes from the bustle of Cannon Beach. Their home is lovely, just minutes from the beach. The week we stayed must have been a quiet time with regards to travelers. The place is nestled in serene location with many tide pools and caves to explore. Hands down, the best place I have stayed at or near Cannon Beach
Awesome place for 4th of July! Fireworks on both ends of the beach. Private beach was beautiful! Easy walk to Hug Point at low tide, beautiful scenery. We were lucky with the weather, a great vacation! Seagull Landing is the perfect size rental, plenty of room for a family of 5, smartly furnished with everything you need. It was a home away from home. Highly recommend.
The house was just what was advertised. Wonderful location. Clean, well stocked kitchen. All amenities I would have wanted. I would certainly rent this house again.
The Grandkids and adults had a wonderful time at the beach. Seagull Landing had all the necessary supplies and the place was awesome. Close to the beach and beautiful scenary. Rained every day we were there but the last day ,but it did not stop us from having the greatest vacation ever..Definetly would recommend the property to family and friends.
Your home was exceptionally clean and full of everything a guest could need. We had such a great time, felt very relaxed, enjoyed the view and the walk to the beach. Very happy we chose this home and would rent it again.
We had a very nice stay at Seagull Landing in Arch Cape. The house was well suited for our family, a room for each kid, plus a bunkbed in one that our daughter loved to read on. The house has a view of the ocean with extremely close access to an excellent adventure on the beach. Aptly named Seagull Landing, we had a Gull friend visit us every morning on the deck during what we assume he cleverly realized was a meal time and was hoping for scraps. This home is located conveniently close to Canon Beach, a lovely seaside town for shopping, dining and a walk on the beach to enjoy Haystack Rock. Ecola State Park is also a draw to this area. Seaside and Astoria are both short drives to the North. Tillamook, its cheese factories and the 3 Cape Drive are another good day outing within short driving distance. So much to do, I wish we had stayed longer.
Loved this house for our family get away. We have never rented a house that was so clean and fully stocked with anything you could possibly need. Good view of the ocean and a very short and nice path led right to the beach.
Hi Mike, Had a wonderful time in your cozy, extremely well-equipped beach house. The accommodations and location was perfect for our family. We walked on the beach many times when the tide was out, collecting shells and sand dollars. West coast beaches have magnificent waterfalls and the most interesting rocks covered with mussels and starfish. East coast beaches are very different. The sand is loose, the beach is much deeper, and the water is warmer, more suitable for swimming. We walked on the sand and flew kites, enjoyed the birds who visited your deck, ate at Mo's many times, rode the carousel in Seaside...fun for all. Tired at night, we enjoyed relaxing in front of the fire and sleeping in most comfortable beds. The girls especially like the bunks. We all loved pancakes in the morning and your kitchen had everything we needed. We all had a fun filled, relaxing vacation. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. Having never used VRBO before, or rented someone else's house, all I had to go on were this site's photos, owner comments, and guest reviews. I knew the splendor of Cannon Beach coastline, and decided to risk the investment. Our group was pleasantly, happily surprised by how wonderful this property is in every aspect. It speaks of generous hospitality from the moment you step inside, with careful attention to details that folks would need and want for an extended vacation stay in one place. This is clearly someone's home, filled with warmth, charm, and meaningfulness. It felt like home away from home. Would I return? In a heartbeat! The owners are fabulous hosts, easy to communicate with, and very considerate. Enjoy.
Seagull Landing was one of the most memorable places we have stayed in a long time. What a surprise to find a welcoming beach bucket and digging tools filled with treats on the dinning room table. We used this bucket on many occassions on the beach and felt bad that we could not pack it back in the plane for a momento. This home was sparkling clean and with easy access to Arch Cape Beach. We cooked numerous home cooked meals in this home and appreciated the fact that the kitchen is well stocked with all sorts of cooking vessels and appliances. My wife appreciated the fact that Arch Cape Beach was not as busy as any other and we had the feeling that it belonged to us. Also when the tides went out we had the surprise of all the Starfish and other animals clinging to the rocks right within easy walking distance of the house. A campfire on the beach making smores was the ultimate last night there. There is so much to do in the area that it would almost take a lifetime to see it all. All sorts of restrants were within a few miles and I think our favorite turned out to be Mo's just a couple of miles down the road. Cannon Beach was fun for a day of walking into all the different shops and art galleries and topping it off at the beach and viewing Haystack Rock with all the Starfish and water animals. I especially liked the demonstration of glass blowing at Icefire Glassworks. We visited many lighthouses and traveled many trails in the forests some of them were traveled by Lewis and Clark when they came upon the Pacific. Astoria to the north was fun and full of Marine museums along with many movie filming sites. We traveled to Troutsdale and then along the Historic Columbia River Highway to many waterfalls and the mighty Columbia River. All people we met in all places were down home courteous and friendly. This is such a beautiful comfortable home that the pictures cannot begin to describe what you find when you arrive. Communication from the owners was fantastic and all questions were answered promptly. Thank you for the opportunity to share this home for the week and if we ever make it back to the coast we would only want to stay here as it spoiled us.
Wonderful home, wonderful beach, wonderful owners. Thank you for sharing your home with us - it was perfect!
We spent 4 days on the coast at Seagull Landing...and it was truly wonderful! After being greeted by the resident seagulls the minute we arrived, we settled right in to this very comfortable home. It was such a wonderful location (only about a 1 minute walk to the ocean) and the home was very, very clean and very nicely equipped. We so enjoyed out relaxing stay, cooked and ate crab, scallops, shrimp, salmon and just had a wonderful time. Nice ocean views, quiet location and everything we could ask for! At the end of our four days...I wasn't ready to leave! Needless to say, we hope to return someday and enjoy the peacefulness and relaxation of Seagull Landing!
Sept, 13 2009 I am sitting on your balcony watching the waves roll in and looking at the gulls flying over them. It is cool and overcast right now, although we have had lovely weather since arriving. I am Kris and here with my husband Larry and best friends Ray and Sharon. We arrived at your darling and beautiful beach house on the 10th and we have had a wonderful time. This house is an absolute treasure! It is lovely, cute, whimsical, perfect in every single way. We have traveled all over the world and stayed many different places-hotels, motels, condos, houses, etc and this place is the most perfect I have ever seen. Everything anyone could need or want is here and it is decorated to a T. You have done a fabulous job of making it attractive and comfortable at the same time. The cleaning people do an outstanding job getting it ready for each guest and it was perfect when we arrived. Larry and I found Cannon Beach three years ago by accident. We were able to spend only two nights here and vowed to return someday. Your beach is gorgeous, the surrounding area is lovely and on and on and on. I feel very fortunate to have located your beach house on VRBO. It is obvious that you have taken great care selecting the furnishings, art work etc. It is just great! We love it.
My family and I have rented this home twice, both times during the 4th of July, 2008 and 2009. The house is wonderful, with tasteful decor, and is equipped with everything you might need. Upon arrival, you will find the house very clean. There are laundry facilities downstairs which you will find very useful after spending the day down at the beach. Speaking of... there is a path down to the beach just steps from the house. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, away from the bustle of Cannon Beach, but close enough to enjoy some shopping. We also enjoy going to Seaside, where you will find a Safeway. Sleeping comes real easy when you open the windows and catch a nice breeze and the sounds of the waves hitting the beach. Truly relaxing and rejuvenating!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful beach house with us! We loved all the comforts that your home provided especially the endless supply of fresh towels, the sun deck and the well-equipted kitchen. The sound of the waves reminded us of our former home on the southern coast of Australia! We spent the weekend walking at low tide on the beach, drinking ,eating and talking. A very special family time. The weather was perfect and we sleep like the dead!
