Welcome to Olivette – a true Caribbean gem positioned on a bluff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. An approved COVID19 property by the government of Antigua and Barbuda, this home is perfect for anniversary celebrations, surprise birthdays, honeymoons, writing/work retreat, and family vacations! Its lovely tropical garden is surrounded by breathtaking vistas of the ocean and nearby hills. Relax to the sight and sounds of the ocean waves as they make their way to the shore, and on moon lit nights you can enjoy the stunning beauty of the moonlight as it shimmers across the ocean.
Olivette is well-appointed with 3 bathrooms (no tubs); a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, cookware, bakeware, glassware and utensils; a laundry room with a washing machine, washtub, iron and ironing board. The 3 bedrooms have an ample supply of queen-sized bed linens, pillows and towels.
Outside patio looks out over the turquoise Caribbean sea, with views of Carlisle Bay.
This is a well kept house with basic facilities that you need, including good wifi. The housekeeper was helpful. The real wonder of this rental however is the view and location. Secluded, with stunning views across the bay, you have the sounds of the waves washing every moment. The air con was good, and the location is next to Old Road one of the oldest villages on the island. It has a locals bar, which we went to and were welcomed. It's a short drive from a couple of stunning beaches, and sits between English Harbour and Jolly Harbour along the coast. We had a wonderful stay.
Beautiful location!!! Wonderful island!! The people are so helpful and welcoming! Did not want to leave. Will be back! Thanks Leonard and Claudine 💕
The views from the balcony are breathtaking. We started in the morning watching the sun come up over the mountain and then could watch it set over the sea. The home is very comfortable and had everything we needed for an enjoyable week. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen well equipped, and the property manager most helpful. We hope we can return, was truly an island paradise!
A local family owns Olivette. They are very helpful and responsive to any questions that you may have. There is a lovely swimming beach within a short walk as well as very good snorkelling in Carlisle Bay for stronger swimmers. The house is equipped for those who wish to cook their own meals as we did. The beds are very comfortable. The house is equipped with a washer that is very handy. We did not experience water pressure issues. The house is located in the Old Road area of Antigua, people are very friendly and helpful. Due to its location, renters do need a car, four wheel drive is preferable but not necessary.
A magnificent view & tranquility come with this lovely home. It has everything you may need, including some food staples. The beds are comfortable as is the living room furniture. The expanse of windows provides breath taking views. Lenard ( house manager) is top notch & exceptionally friendly, assuring you have everything you need. Plenty of information about the house & area is provided. Lenard & family; we can't thank you enough. Totally a class act! Sitting on the deck watching the ever changing movements of the ocean, the yachts & local water traffic, the sunrise & sunsets is totally captivating. Daily beach combing netted many beautiful items to bring home including sea glass. Taxi service is very good. Malcolm would drop you off & pick you up precisely as requested, providing information on the island during the trip. We loved staying at Olivette & enjoyed Antigua - the friendly, helpful people, the beautiful beaches, the food, local beer & coconut cocktails! We hope to return one day & we would definitely book Olivette.
The management were most helpful with everything we needed. This is a gem hidden away and we would love to stay at this property again!
Olivette is a beautiful house on a secluded beach that truly helped us accomplish our goal of disconnecting from the real world and enjoying our family. The greeting by Lenard at the airport was a wonderful touch. We rented a car and followed him to the grocery store and then to the house which was a nice way to get oriented to the island. Coffee on the balcony every morning while listening to the waves and watching the ocean was a great way to start the day. Highly recommend the Sunday evening barbecue at Shirley Heights, Stingray City, and snorkeling at Half Moon Bay Beach and Galleon Bay. We saw so many amazing things underwater from stingrays to starfish to sea turtles to octopus to hundreds of beautiful fish. The secluded beach under Olivette is great for hunting seashells and going out at night with flashlights to see the crabs moving around. We had a wonderful week here and highly recommend it. For us, this experience was much preferred to truly experience Antigua over a resort.
The house and furnishings in good condition. Fantastic views from house and balcony. House sits facing a peninsula no swimming, beach near by.
Villa Olivette was a perfect little villa to rent in Old Road Antigua. It’s up a rocky off the beat old road and sits in a peninsula overlooking the hills, cliffs and sea. Eating breakfast daily on the veranda looking at the wildlife with the warm sea breeze in your hair keeping you cool was perfection. The villa is well equipped and beautifully looked after by Leonard and his team. It was immaculate and comfortable with simple furnishings and decor and many extras were provided that were not expected in a self catering villa, such a toilet roll and some washing powder, squeeze etc. The villa is very pleasant, but it’s the location that really sells it. Old Road itself is like much of the rest of Antigua, old, simple, shabby and charming. The locals were very friendly as we either walked or drove past them daily; everyone waves hello no matter their age. However, the villa is totally private and sits in beautifully tended gardens with stunning flowering bushes and the turquoise sea beckoning. Leonard could not have been a more accommodating manager; he even rescued us one evening when our car broke down which was well and above his requirement to do so. Judith the owner, equally lovely to talk to, has chosen th right person to look after her special home. We highly recommend this villa for anyone wishing to holiday in Antigua.
Beautiful house. Stayed for 12 days and wish we had 12 more. From the meeting@ the airport to the final day,Leonard was there if we needed him. I would recommend this house to anyone. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. Leigh and Kathleen.
Accommodations were very nice. We stayed for several weeks and the place felt like Home. Any thing we needed or had questions about were handled promptly by the on island manager, Lenard. I hope we can return some day
We had a great time at this home to say the least! Only issue was the driveway into the property. Very rough and steep, but, once you get to the house you tend to forget about that driveway. Home is very comfortable. We enjoyed the pelicans diving for dinner most afternoons. This is truly a diamond in the rough! Yes, a car is needed here! We were a 15 min drive to Jolly Harbour for restaurants, 7 miles. Price paid for this one was on the low side. It is well worth more for sure!! Thanks so much to Tracy who met us at the airport and Lenard, the property manager, was available anytime and was very friendly and helpful. This home, due to it's location, would be perfect for guests that stay home at night and make their dinner in. I did not care for the night time driving. The little beach that is there is too rough to go swimming, but, has treasures to find on it. Like sea glass and shells. All of the other reviews have said it all. Nothing negative to report here, just a great home to rent and enjoy!!!! Thank You to Judith for allowing us to stay here!
We just returned from staying three nights at Olivette. It was lovely! Very well kept! It is very secluded with an amazing view! It has a well-furnished kitchen and the caretakers even had fresh fruit awaiting us. They arranged a car to be delivered to the house as well. The home is very comfortable and lovely. Nice two bedroom two baths. Air conditioning worked well and great wifi! A car is a must as nothing is within walking distance here. But we navigated the potholes pretty well and enjoyed our stay! Thank you to everyone who helped make our stay amazing!
We stayed at this house for all of February 2017. We had a wonderful time but previous reviews have said it all and we can only add our endorsement to those views. However we would like to express our thanks to Lenard in particular for his friendship and helpfulness.
We stayed at Olivette in Old Road Village. From the start of our holiday it was an amazing experience. From being met at the airport by Brittany who took us to the local supermarket which was so helpful. We were met by Lenard the house Manager who welcomed us so warmly. We were totally amazed by the property and the location. It is so beautiful and private. The views from the house and balcony are stunning. The house itself is very comfortable with everything you could wish for. The snorkeling at a nearby beach is out if this world we saw up to 40 different species of fish. It was a good central location to get to other areas by car which you definatley need to hire. We needed a relaxing holiday after a tough year and we certainly got that.
All the good things you have read about this property are 100% true. One of our best vacations ever. A perfect place to unwind. The Antiguan people are lovely and the loveliest one of all is property manager Lenard. We recommend taking the day trip to Montserrat, having special dinner at Carlisle Bay Resort next door, spending some beach time at Darkwood, seeing Nelson's Dockyard, circumnavigating the island on big catamaran tour, beach-combing on the little beach below the house, or just sitting on the Olivette balcony with a book. We didn't have time to explore rainforest hiking trails, nor did we see the historic sights in St Johns. Saving them for next time.
We absolutely loved the views that we had each and every day. The peacefulness and privacy of the location was just what we needed to recharge. Everything was thought of in the house and there wasn't anything left out. It was very clean and organized. Lenard was very helpful and always available. We found the best beach on our last day in the country, Deep Bay. It's close to St John's, and slightly off the beaten path but well worth the trip. The water was the calmest we had experienced on the island and just as beautiful as Half Moon Bay!! We would definitely stay here again.
Outstanding property at a prime, quiet location. Beautiful views and close to many wonderful beaches. Lenard was extremely helpful, positive and made us feel very welcome upon our check in. He even gave us cell phones to use while on the island to contact him with any questions. This property has a beautiful balcony overlooking Carlisle Bay and if you're looking for an excellent place to relax and enjoy the wonderful island of Antigua this is the place to stay. Highly, highly recommended. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could.
OMG!!!! From the moment we arrived at the airport right up to our depature back at the airport, I can honestly say this was truly an awesome vacation stay! The Josiah's had Brittany meet us and bring us to the home. They also helped with the referral and arrangements of a rental car from Koconuts Car Rental in order for us to get around the island (even though we were quite contented with enjoying the BEAUTIFUL scenery and tranquility of Olivette). Everyone was SUPER NICE and SO VERY HELPFUL!!!! I can only say, I'll see you all on my next trip back! (with or without my sister - LOL) GOD BLESS THIS FAMILY AND THEIR HOME!!!!!
Incredible views, beautiful home, private beach access, and accessible and helpful hosts... this place is a gem in Antigua!
My husband and I rented this cottage and were blown away! Not only is it roomy with excellent decor, but it's also private and has a view and property grounds to just die for! I cannot say enough great things about the overall property and Leonard the property manager was a true pleasure to work with! Will definitely be back to stay at Olivette!
Yes, the reviews are great! You can read them and be impressed. Yes, the pictures look amazing and there's lots of them. You can google this and google that in trying to decide if this place is right for you. What you won't have until you arrive here is a real understanding of how beautiful this house, this property and this parish and indeed, this entire island really is. You won't feel the wind keeping the air alive or hear it play off the sound of the water, visible from everywhere. First timers won't have a sense of how friendly the people of Antigua are towards each other and to visitors until you arrive. Experience that for a few days and you feel like you have just been invited into a family with a long and proud history. Is this house or this Island right for you? We were convinced it was for us in much less than a week and are returning next year in what may be the start of a long term relationship with Antigua and all its wonders!
The Olivette vacation property is strategically located on the south shore of Antigua far enough from the tourist crowds and close enough to the beautiful beaches and mountain trails. The nearest rocky beach lies at the gates of the property and provides an ample opportunity for swimming or snorkeling in the picturesque Carlisle Bay or in the Morris Bay, just around a rocky promontory. For less adventurous swimmers, there are several sandy beaches within a short drive or walk. The trail to the Signal Hill crowned with lemon grass fields, arguably, the most beautiful place in Antigua, begins at the Walling's Dam within a 5 min drive from the house. The house sits on a bluff and permanent breezes provide a pleasant relief of the heat and mosquitoes at night, making air conditioners rather irrelevant. Sweeping views of the sea from the patio and balconies are magnificent; the property is meticulously maintained by a gardener and boasts a variety of thriving tropical plants. All amenities including plumbing, fans, washing machines, split air conditioners, WiFi, and TV function perfectly, the kitchen is well stocked with utensils and groceries. The house is thoughtfully planned and is nicely furnished. The owners provide two local cell phones and dispatch an escort to meet guests at the airport. The maintenance team led by Lenard is efficient, unobtrusive, and available at any time when the need arises. In summary, this vacation property provides the comfort of a posh resort for a fraction of the price. I would recommend it without reservations.
Arrangements were made to meet us at the airport, Curtis waited for us to pick up our rental car and he accommodated our request by taking us to the grocery store. Curtis graciously waited outside until we were finished and we followed him to the house, where we were greeted by Leonard he showed us the ins and outs of the house all within 10 minutes of arriving! Great service! The house was more than we expected, just like the pictures. The view from inside the house of Carlisle bay was spectacular, then when you went out on the balcony it was even better, I true paradise. They provided 2 cell phones for local use! Location is private yet close to fantastic restaurants and beaches. I would definitely rent this house again. I can't think of one negative thing! You definitely need to Rent-A-Car, to see the island.
My husband and I stayed here for one week the beginning of December and we were so happy that we rented the house rather than staying at one of the resorts. Annette (the owner's host) met us at the airport so that she could lead us to the house (even with a map Antigua is challenging to navigate since streets are often not marked). The house was spotless when we arrived. Leonard, the property manager, met us at the house and made sure we knew where everything was located. The listing description was accurate - in fact, the house has additional features that weren't even listed. This was our first time renting a house so we weren't sure what to expect. Everything that we would need was provided - beach towels, soap, shampoo, dish soap, laundry detergent. There were even 2 cell phones made available for our use. There is a wall mounted air conditioning unit in each bedroom and also one in the kitchen. We only used one bedroom but the unit in the master bedroom and the unit in the kitchen kept the entire house very comfortable. There is a laundry room with a washer, cabinets and a sink which was handy for wet swimsuits and snorkeling gear. It was very convenient to have internet service and there were multiple movie channels on the satellite tv service. There is a secluded beach below the house (the house sits up on a hill overlooking the ocean). There are too many rocks and the current is too strong to swim but there was a shallow area and it was nice to walk and look at the sea shells. It was very peaceful and quiet and each night different boats would come into the bay and drop anchor. There are restaurants and beaches where you can swim within a 10-15 minute drive from the house. A large grocery store where we bought all of our groceries is approximately 30 minutes from the house. The property owner was very prompt in responding throughout the booking process and very helpful.
My wife and I spent a week here and loved every minute of it. Starting from being met at the airport to being escorted to the villa (EVEN after 1.5 hr wait at AVIS), then being greeted with a welcome hamper full of essentials to see us through the evening and next morning (and then some), we were bowled over by the Josiah-Martin hospitality. Lennard, the property manager, was extremely helpful with a few issues we had resolving them quickly and checking back to ensure everything was okay and we were happy. A good touch was the provision of 2 mobile phones for our use during our stay. The house was recently updated, very comfortable and well equipped offering beautiful views and a very refreashing sea breeze.. The location was ideal for a quiet and private holiday however a car is essential. Our only complaint was the lack of curtains in the bedroom meant the security lights shone into the bedroom at night. Also the bedroom windows didn't stay up depriving us of the sea breeze at night (fortunately the air conditioning worked well). Internet was fast and secure which was a great plus. A word of advice ... while there are plenty of beaches nearby, if you don't like big waves, Carlisle Bay is absolutely devine and only 2 minutes away. Our stay ended all too soon and we were even offered an escort back to the airport (as I said, great hospitality). Would we stay there again - most definitely; would we recommend this property to others - again, most definitely.
Very comfortable, spacious home with magnificent views of the ocean and the hills and within a mile to the nearest beach; perfect location for a quiet, relaxing vacation. If you can imagine falling asleep to the sound of the ocean, or seeing the light of the moon glistening on the water then Olivet is the place for you!
Olivette Villa is just wonderful: - great view (both sunset and sunrise) - fully equipped - great for 2 couples - Lenard, the property manager, always helpful I strongly recommend a car to visit Antigua but also for grocery shopping, although Boxer Shack restaurant and related beach are at walking distance.
