The Birch Meadow hosted by St James Vacation Homes
This home has a 3 night minimum. No smoking or pets allowed.
Lined with river birch trees along its shaded 138 feet of seawall at Lake Oconee, The Birch Meadow lives up to its name and is a serene retreat on the southern shoreline. Nestled in a quiet cove with a private dock and small white sand beach, it’s removed enough from busy lake activity and boat wakes but convenient enough for deep-water cruises to the nearby Ritz Carlton. With a downstairs game area and bunk room, this 4-bedroom, 3-bath home is perfect for families who want a breath of fresh air while being close to local activities.
Entering the property, guests will notice the circular drive that makes parking easy. No more stress over multiple vehicles getting in and out!
The home’s interior is just as thoughtful: an open-concept upper level with kitchen, living area, two bedrooms, two baths, screened porch, and master suite deck; a lower level with two bedrooms, a full bath, laundry closet, and a spacious bonus room that leads to the covered patio.
The open-concept kitchen and living area are bright and airy with both providing elevated views of the cove below. Plenty of counter space in the kitchen makes it easy for mealtime traffic flow. Guests will have access to stainless steel appliances including a side-by-side refrigerator, dishwasher, stovetop oven, microwave, and hands-free trash can. A Keurig coffee maker is also supplied. Plenty of seating is available at the 8-capacity dining table and at the extended counter with 4 cushioned barstools.
After a day on the water, the living area welcomes guests home with a comfortable sectional sofa, sitting chair, wood-burning fireplace, and flatscreen TV with streaming options. Two sliding glass doors stream in natural light and offer access to the screened porch with seating for 6. This part of the house is sure to be a gathering spot and is especially appreciated by those who want to be outdoors but with protection from sun and bugs!
Down the hall is the master suite, complete with a king bed, sitting area, skylight, and en suite bathroom with ample linen storage, an oversized tile shower, and a walk-in closet. Two sliding doors lead out to the upper deck extension of the screened porch. During the day, natural sunlight streams in and illuminates the master suite. At night, draw the blackout curtain panels and enjoy sleeping in. Across the hall is the second of the two main level bedrooms, and it’s furnished with a comfortable queen bed, dresser, and closet. There is also a full bath just steps away.
The main feature of the lower level is the expansive lounge area that comes with two sofas, a flatscreen TV with streaming options, drink cooler, gumball machine, and foosball table. There’s also a laundry closet with a full-size washer and dryer for those who don’t want to travel home with dirty laundry. Sliding glass doors provide a walkout to the covered patio, where a grill and a hammock are available for use. The paved walkway extends all the way to the private dock. Also on the lower level are two guest bedrooms that can sleep up to 6 guests. The first room comes with a double-mattress bunk bed, wall-mounted chalkboard, walk-in closet, and private access to the covered patio. The second bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, dresser, and closet. Both bedrooms share a full-size bath.
For a slice of local life, plenty of restaurants and retails shops are a 20-minute drive away. Harmony Crossing is home to some of our favorites, including LaLore Café and 44 Marketplace. In neighboring Greensboro, stock up at Publix, enjoy breakfast at Café 44, or try one of the blends from PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans. We also recommend visiting the historic districts for a unique shopping and dining experience. Be sure to check out the local events, festivals, and farmer’s markets, too!
Everything was awesome, we just had a little trouble communicating with the property manager. We had sent them a message about a few things that were not working and never heard back. When we didn’t receive our check out instructions, they indicated that it might have been a software problem. It was great to have a dock and they provided an umbrella. The screened in porch and table outside were awesome. We would definitely rent this house again!😀
