Recently renovated and upgraded, Mirror Lake Retreat is the perfect year-round destination to enjoy both a little solitude and easy access to activities and conveniences in the surrounding area. This well-appointed retrofitted barn-style home includes all of the modern amenities - a soundproofed home theater with Dolby Atmos surround and a wet bar, wifi, DirecTV, Roku, Netflix, and xbox gaming in two rooms with dozens of games. There is a new garage space with ping-pong and foosball.
The main gathering area seats accommodates your full group with a large table and bar seating. The kitchen is fully appointed with updated appliances including a double oven, 4-slice toaster, ground coffee/K-cup coffee and hot chocolate maker, ice cream machine, waffle and panini grill, two blenders and all the pots, pans, Pyrex and cutlery you will need for a snack or a feast.
If you would rather disconnect from it all there is a wood stove in the comfortable family room with comfortable leather couches. Luxury mattresses and bedding and a variety of feather, down, hypoallergenic and memory foam pillows ensure a peaceful night's sleep. There is a cedar-wood sauna and 120-jet 7-person hot tub for further relaxation.
The entire upstairs is a private master suite with a travel-themed office space and a separate balcony overlooking the mountains. The ensuite master bathroom includes a spacious two-head walk-in shower and imperial footed bathtub. The nautical-themed bunk bed room sleeps 8 comfortably and includes a realistic boat play area for the kids.
Summer: The property has large fire-pit in the back near by a running creek for storytelling and s'mores. When it's lights out you are presented with a deep view of the starry sky and crisp mountain air, perfect for the two designated camping areas on-site or for the more adventurous, at one of the many campgrounds just minutes up the road. There are poles intended for up to three hammocks. The on-property creek contains plenty of trout, but for those who want a sure thing the Fun Family Fishing Trout Farm is walking distance. They guarantee a catch, will provide rods and even clean the fish for you while you wait. The entertainment area includes a BBQ for grilling them up for a healthy meal, and the enclosed yard with a large playground allows the kids to run around without having to worry about them wandering down to the river or the road unattended. There are plenty of summer activities in the area, including dozens of hiking and biking trails, canoeing, kayaking, boating and water skiing at the nearby Jordanelle reservoir. Head the other way and you're on the scenic drive to to Mirror Lake, but don't forget to stop at the waterfall! As a testament to the location, in 2016 Mirror Lake Retreat was selected for an on-location photoshoot for Eider Sportswear.
Winter: This is snowmobiling and snowshoeing country, but several Ski resorts, including the Canyons, Park City and Deer Valley are less than 20 minutes away. The well plowed roads all winter ensure you are never snowed in. The place is just off the highway, ensuring year-round hassle-free accessibility. In the winter the National Park closes the roads, providing thousands of acres of pristine snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
Year-round: Run across the street to the Samak Smokehouse whenever you get a hankering for the best Jerky and smoked cheeses on the planet. (We've tried quite a few). This place also carries high-quality organics. Our personal favorites are the homemade caramels and pomegranate licorice. Jen and Dave will certainly take care of you and also have canoes and snowshoes for rent.
And that's not all, just up the street is The Notch Pub, serving up fish and chips and delicious home made burgers and staging live entertainment and pool competitions year-round.
Quaint Kamas Main street is only 10 minutes away, where you can find melt-in-your mouth pizzas, homeskillet breakfasts, and turn-it-upside-down malts.
After all that snacking, hit up the local rec-center to swim a few laps, float the lazy river, zip around the water slide, play a round of racquetball or climb the rock wall.
If exercise isn't your idea of a vacation, how about shopping? Park City main street and the Outlets are just a short drive away...
These are some of the many reasons we love our Mirror Lake Retreat. We hope you do too.
Notes from review feedback:
1. In early 2017 the cabin has been updated with a new tankless water heating system and backup system to ensure no further issues with hot water.
2. There is no air conditioning in this unit as it is not necessary except for a few nights each year. The cabin is nestled in a sheltered canyon which is often 10 degrees or more cooler than the surrounding area and channels a cool breeze in the summer. We have found that there are only a handful of nights a year when it feels warm, and overhead and portable fans are available for these times. To keep the cabin cool on warm days, open windows just before sunset and close all windows around 10 am and keep them closed throughout the day.
No more than 14 people, no pets, unless prior agreement with manager. No smoking!
Fantastic place for our little getaway. House was clean and fun little atmosphere. Kids loved the playground. Kitchen was great with plenty of supplies. Hot tub and sauna was a nice touch and enjoyed them as well. We will definitely be back.
I need more stars to accurately express our experience at this property!! Everything was excellent, from the Property itself, the amenities, and the timely and professional response of the Management Team!!
My friends and I loved the property and had a great time. Super close to the grocery store (5-10 min drive) and to Park City (20-25 mins). Would definitely recommend!
Very nice property, Up to date modern kitchen and bathrooms. Lots of games for the kids and hot tub and sauna. Small issue with the water but the property manager got it resolved quickly and we had a really good time. Near by recreation center was also very good for the kids. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
We loved this property. It was a great place for our family to spend some time together. We loved the sauna, hot tub, theatre and fire place. And it’s a simple thing but I loved that there was filtered water. We’d definitely go back to this property.
Very enjoyable, clean comfortable home. They even set out a Christmas tree. It is kid friendly and nice for adults too. The large kitchen table seats our whole crew.
So welcoming and inviting home It was freezing when we arrived because it snowed but when we walked in it was nice and warm and clean Bed were amazing to sleep on on . Plenty of blankets and pillows So well stocked thru out the house ..We slept like babies ... Yes busy road but you couldn't hear a thing inside house . The view out back was gorgeous and the creek was beautiful to listen too..The owner was so responsive and attentive to all our silly needs Would definitely be back in Future ..Thank you for a Wonderful stay
2nd time staying and we loved it again. Grandkids want to go back.
Kamas area was the perfect midway point for our families (OR & CO) and this home was even more PERFECT! We spent a full week with six adults and four children ((3-8) and never lacked for entertainment or relaxation! Very comfortable and immediately felt at home! We’ll go back after COVID when we can experience even more. Thank you for a great home!!
We loved our stay at this super fun house. We had left Oregon because of smoke and fires and they let us stay very last-minute. Our kids enjoyed all of the fun features, even though we were not able to get the theater to work for us. We would definitely come back! The hikes in the area were spectacular and our kids loved the beef jerky from the smoke house across the street. We had fun at Jordanelle State Park, too. There is so much to do inside and outside of this house- definitely recommend!!
The home is beautiful and well furnished. We certainly enjoyed our stay. The home is close to several trailheads. Easy to get up hike in the morning relax in the theater room in the early evening and then a trip to the hot tub to round out the day.
Lots to do in the house and the area. House was lovely as was the entire property. Window coverings in master suite would have been nice and having to transport your own trash was really inconvenient. I wouldn’t let that stop you from staying here though... it is a very unique property and beautiful area.
This is a great property! Our extended family including grandparents, siblings/spouses and 5 grandchildren had a fantastic time. The house is very well appointed with many thoughtful touches, including board games, puzzles, Xbox games, pingpong and a wonderful fire pit with all the supplies for S'mores (plus plenty of toasting forks, an axe for chopping wood, etc.) I've rented a lot of vacation houses, and this home was one of the best stocked I've ever seen - everything you could possibly need was provided. Our 5 teens/tweens had the time of their lives playing video games in the screening room, and the night sky was gorgeous - we drove up the road a bit to get away from lights and were able to view the Perseid meteor shower. We had a little trouble figuring out the master bathroom shower at first, but the owner replied to my email instantly and solved the problem. I can only give 4 stars on the cleanliness, since the hot tub had a dirty ring around it that we ended up having to clean ourselves in order to use our first night there, but the owner realized after we got there that the housekeeper had neglected to finish cleaning it and contacted us to apologize the next day, before I had a chance to even mention it. We would rent this home again in a heartbeat!
This is a nice place to stay for a family reunion. Lots of activities for all ages.
Our extended family stayed here four nights in July 2020. It was the perfect COVID family retreat--up in the mountains, away from the city. The house is spacious and easily accommodated our group of 11 adults + several little ones. Fenced backyard with playground made it safe for kids while adults could relax in the hot tub, sauna, back patio, etc. Two different indoor gathering spaces allowed a place for little kids to watch a movie (in living room/dining/kitchen area great room), while older kids played XBox in the super awesome in-home theater room (with wet bar/second kitchen). Each day we did a fun local outing--played at the beach at Jordanelle Reservoir with kayaks and paddle boards, went hiking in the Uintah mountains, went mountain biking on a trailhead just up the road--very nice beginner trails plus more technical trails for the experienced biker. We also hit up the South Summit Aquatic and Recreation Center which has a super awesome indoor leisure pool complete with splash playground, water slide, rock climbing wall in the pool, lazy river, hot tub, and lap pool. Upstairs master bedroom suite was awesome and luxurious. My brother was able to work remotely in a quiet home office space within the master suite while the kiddos played outside and downstairs. Property manager was very responsive and they ensured a deep clean occurred both before and after our stay to prevent COVID spread. So great to have fresh mountain air and make fun family memories.
Had a wonderful holiday at this great cabin. Everything we needed to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We all loved it. Highly recommend.
Outside of limitations, being quiet in the evening, the property was nice and relaxing.
The cabin is such a unique rental with the theatre room, the pirate boat, the playground out back. Our family had the most lovely time staying there and the kids were in heaven. The views were stunning! We loved how well stocked the kitchen was and it made meal prep super easy. The manager was quick to answer any questions we had. We had a hard time leaving this beautiful place! Can’t wait to visit again!
Great spot, better than the pictures!
We had a group of 10 professional adults stay at the Kamas house for our annual ski trip. The house was awesome. We loved the large open room with the big kitchen table for everyone to hang out in. The separate theater room was nice for part of the group to hang out in while others were watching the tv. The hot tub was very nice after a day on the mountains. The house was close enough to enjoy Park City without to long of a drive. Would definitely stay at the Kamas house again.
Great cabin getaway. Only issue was WiFi strength early on. It the cabin itself was clean, big and well accommodating. Very good value.
Great clean cabin style house with amenities
Such a perfect home for our Christmas family retreat. We had everything we needed to enjoy the Christmas season. So close to park city and soldier hollow. Fresh snow didn’t stop us as the roads were plowed in the morning and we got to where to where we needed Christmas Day. Would stay here again for sure!!!!
The house was amazing and had all the amenities you need to have a great time with your guests. Beautiful home next to nature.
We enjoyed this house so much. We had 8 adults and 8 children and never felt crowded! Although we had very cold weather the first 2 days, we were toasty warm with the blazing fire in the wood stove. With it warmer the 3rd day we thoroughly enjoyed the back yard, play area, creek, hot tub and sauna...oh, and ping pong! All the furniture was comfortable and we had everything we needed. We drove to Mirror Lake. It’s so beautiful!! If our family doesn’t grow, we would love to stay here again
We had our kids from Canada, California and Utah for an Autumn reunion. We have stayed in this getaway and loved it so much we came back. The new additions are so great allowing everyone to enjoy the space. We’ll return again!
This was a great place to stay! So family friendly and lots of fun stuff to do! Will definitely come back again.
Friendly property owners. Fantastic location and setting. Beautiful home, interior and exterior. Plenty of room for anything up there! Couldn't be happier with my stay. Thanks again!
This place was amazing! Our family of 16 stayed for 4 nights the end of July. There was plenty of room for us to spread out! It was clean, decorated so cute, and the beds were comfortable! The kids loved the playground and the bunk room with the pirate ship! We loved the hot tub, sauna, theatre room, fire pit, master bedroom retreat, large pantry for food, 2 fridges, ping pong table, foosball table, place to hang our hammock by the river, and more! There was so much to like about this place! We absolutely loved it! We can’t wait to stay here again! I worried it might be hot at times because there was no air conditioner, but it wasn’t an issue at all! We stayed cool enough with the ceiling fans and opened windows at night! Would definitely recommend this place!
All around an excellent experience.
Plenty of space, great for trainings, and people loved getting to use the sauna and hot tube at the end of the night.
We had ten adults and seven kids and the cabin was perfect for us. There is a bunk bed room that was perfect for the kids. A nice fenced in yard and a play set for the kids. One and a half kitchens was also nice. I highly recommend this place.
This was the perfect place for our weekend getaway. The children were happy playing on the playground in the fenced yard, and they really enjoyed the fun bunkbed room with the ship in it. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped. The beds are comfy. We especially appreciated the bathrooms being supplied with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hair dryers, and even robes.
Perfect place for our retreat.
We were lucky enough to spend 9 days in this beautiful home. The location was convenient for both skiers and those fly fishing (Provo and Strawberry rivers were excellent), and the hot tub and sauna a welcomed end to days doing both. The kitchen is equipped with everything you'd need to prepare a gourmet meal (we used it extensively!), plenty of space for everyone. The theater room was perfect for evenings watching movies, or the kids gaming. The weather was incredible - more snow than any of us had expected (skiing was fabulous!), driveway and roads completely clear. Although in a remote location, very close to all of our needs. Would certainly return!
This was our first family trip to Utah, and this house was absolutely perfect. Being our first time, I was concerned about being outside of Park City, but it wasn’t an issue at all. There are several great little restaurants in Kamas, and Park City and Heber City were easy drives. The photographs don’t do the house justice, it’s a fantastic place to stay. There are tons of board games, a theater room with Xbox One, hot tub, ping pong table, and the list goes on. Just a perfect place!
Absolutely loved it. Spent 3 days here with my extended family which included 8 adults and 6 children and couldn't ask for more. The house worked well with a large kitchen and adjoining living room plus an added movie room gave us plenty of space to spread out and not feel like we were on top of each other. Everything was well provisioned and the wood burning stove was actually enough to keep the entire downstairs warm. Thank you Krista for allowing us to stay in your home. It was the perfect backdrop for making memories with my family.
Such a beautiful location! Loved being so close to the mountains and having all the modern convinces of home. Fantastic place for kids! Had great weather for this time of year but it would be great all seasons. Had everything we needed! ( Would like blinds in all the bedrooms though) Hopefully be back again soon!
We had an incredible retreat experience here. There’s a beautiful back yard on a creek (with an awesome playground for the Little’s and a firepit), a very well-stocked kitchen, well decorated bedrooms and overall, the house had a really sweet vibe. The proximity to the Unita wilderness was a gift. We all really enjoyed our stay. Thank you, Krista!
This home is beautiful and incredibly comfortable. Hosts are easy to communicate with, accommodating, and have thought of everything. I didn't spend as much time there as did my siblings and nieces/in laws (I was Mother of the Bride at the remote wedding site), but they raved about the film screening room, the second kitchen, beautiful yard, ping pong table, etc. I wish our stay had been longer!! I definitely recommend and hope to go back again. Only less-than-ideal thing was having to drive garbage to dumpsters down the road when we were leaving.
The beds are comfy, the rooms are tastefully decorated, the kitchen is furnished well, and the theatre is awesome! We loved watching movies as a family, playing in the back yard with the kids, and just sitting around the huge kitchen table that fit us all. There are games and puzzles galore to play. My only complaint is that we couldn’t fit in all of the great things there are to do right there in the “barn”!
Our family loved our stay at the Barn. It was clean, comfortable and had everything for family fun. Loved the location and the yard. We will be back!!
While the home was beautiful, spacious and well equipped, I would not stay here again. Be aware that the house is very close to the road and it is a heavily traveled road. Since there is no air conditioning, the windows need to be open to stay cool in summer and so you can hear the road noise as you try to sleep. Their text message to me regarding check-in time did not match what the website said. They did allow us to check in at the website time which was earlier. One of our guests unknowingly brought a dog and within literally minutes, I received a text saying they noticed we have a dog on the property. They are definitely watching you if you stay here. I quickly paid the pet fee, only to be told that the dog had to be kept off the grass and if in the house, in a kennel, which our friends did not have. That meant that we paid the pet fee to have to tie the dog out behind the fenced in area where there was dirt and it was hot. Not sure what the pet fee covers.... Then, when we returned home, several days after we checked out and after someone else had already stayed in the house, they filed a claim against our damage insurance for a damaged office chair. First of all, the chair was not damaged when we left, my daughter used it and it was fine. It was probably damaged by the guests who rented after us, but they might not have purchased the damage insurance??? It's fishy. We never met the managers or owners, but we would not recommend this house because of them.
Kids loved the playground! The fire pit was extra helpful for our s'mores experience!
What a fun family place to stay! The cabin is absolutely beautiful inside with lots of open space. There is something for everyone here, including a hot tub and sauna, playground for the kids, numerous games, ping pong table and of course the theater room which was everyone's favorite. While the cabin doesn't have AC, because of it's location and the numerous ceiling fans, we never felt the heat inside during those hot July days.
We stayed here with 13 total - my husband and our two kids, my brother, his wife, and their 4 kids, our parents, and a cousin. This house had the perfect set up for our group. The kids loved the bunk room, and they all had a bed to themselves. The master suite was the perfect get-away for our parents, and the rest of us had bedrooms that were nicely furnished for our comfort. We hiked, fished, strolled Park City, grilled out, played in the creek, and played on the brand new play set. Puzzle lovers put together a few puzzles. We also enjoyed the many games at the house. The table was big enough to sit our entire group for meals. During our week long stay, we only ate out a few times. We loved being able to cook dinners and be together. The owners and manager are fantastic people. They asked to finish the play set during our stay, and they worked until well after dark to make sure that the kids could play the next day. It was super sweet of them! They were concerned about us, because it got quite warm during our stay. The temps rose into the high 90s each afternoon, but the house stayed cool and comfortable. We would open windows at night and shut the house up starting at about 10 am. By late afternoon, the canyon would cool. We were amazed that the house would stay cool all day. We will definitely stay here again for our next family reunion.
It was so much fun. Plenty of room. Well stocked with everything we needed. Love the yard and fire pit. We may stay there again next year. Everyone loved it
Our family gathered for a reunion/birthday/Father's Day celebration with this lovely home as our home base. We loved all the space to spread out. Each family had their own bedroom, my husband and I had an amazing master suite, and there were plenty of bathrooms and tubs to go around. It was nice to have enough seating for our meals and we so enjoyed movie night in that amazing theatre and s'mores under the stars. The little kids loved the Pirate bedroom and wore the captain hat as they took turns riding the little airplane in the fenced backyard. It gave peace of mind, as they played, knowing there was protection from the busy road and brook. My favorite was listening to the water early in the morning and enjoying the cool breeze that came through the windows as we slept at night. The home was beautifully decorated and had a full stocked kitchen and 2 refrigerators which was perfect as we each take a turn cooking at night. We had a few windy/rainy days (wished we had an umbrella when we grilled) but still managed to boat on Jordanelle, picnic, hike Cascade Springs, play at the local indoor aquatic center, and ride our four wheelers. All activities were in close proximity to the home that we so enjoyed coming back to after busy days. We also found a good pizza/ice cream place in town and were able to make a quick run to a nice sized grocery store for treats and ice cream to celebrate Father's Day. A great vacation memory.
We used this cabin as a retreat location and it was perfect! There was plenty of space for all of us, but we never felt too crowded or too far apart. It was a perfect location for going out to dinner and we loved the backyard. My only complaint is that the stove was really slow the one time we tried to use it. Other than that, it was a great location and it had everything that we needed!
The house was very nice and very clean when we arrived. We had one minor problem with the hot water but after contacting the owner, and receiving a prompt message back we had hot water with the simple touch of a button. Our only real complaint was only 6 cars could be on the property at a time. There was plenty of room for more. There were a couple of rule changes after we signed up that weren't previously on our agreement. Overall, we all had a great time in a very lovely area. The house was awesome! We would come again.
We had a wonderful time at the Mirror Lake Property. The owners had thought of everything we needed for a fun family getaway. Loved the yard, firepit, play equipment, theater room, and pirate ship playhouse.
It's a barn with a modern feel on the inside. I was worried about the wifi before going up to the cabin but it worked fine!!! It'sa smart home on the inside which we really liked. We had 3 TVs playing online gaming and one watching Netflix and they weren't having any issues. It was a fun placeto get away to!!!
The property was extremely clean, spacious, and well-furnished. It also provided all the kitchen supplies a large group, like we were, needed to cook properly. And if the skiing is what you hoped for, the home theater provides plenty of entertainment during down time. Don't let the 15 extra minutes to Park City or the Canyons make you stray away from this beautiful property.
We come to Park City every year. This house had everything we needed and more. The owner was very accommodating and responsive. The disposer didn’t work when we first arrived but she was able to get someone to fix it the very next day. The backyard was big, and and the fire pit was an added bonus. Kids loved running around the backyard and so did my dogs. Thank you, hope to be back next year :)
We were 10 people who went to Park city to Ski and snow board. This house was convenient to so many mountains and only 15 minutes from main street park city. We cooked at least 2 meals a day at the house and the kitchen has everything we needed. The movie room was awesome not only for the movies but video games as well which came with the house. Super easy check in and check out process. Only small suggestion we had would be water pressure was low when multiple showers were taken. We would do this again the next time we come back to UTAH.
We had a wonderful time in Kamas and our accommodations couldn't have been better! Those who have come before have left plenty of spices and cooking supplies like flour, sugar, salt, etc... If you are staying for a few days I would recommend not shopping until you see what is already in the cabin. There is a really good grocery store not 10 min away. The rooms are all cozy and much thought went into setting them up. The kids room is great as well as the family room with the projection tv and games. The upstairs master suite is great but the two headed shower would be better with better water pressure. One head is great but when you turn both on you just get a trickle. It snowed two days before we arrived but waiting for us was an igloo, and a great little hill made of snow for sledding. Our grandson loved it and had plenty to do. It's a beautiful area and the cabin is wonderful. We will be back.
Our family from east and west chose to meet here. What at great site! The kids were wowed by the bunk beds, boat, and big screen. The grand table facilitated great conversation at meals and games. Kitchen and refrigeration were ample as we brought up ingredients for favorite family recipes. The kitchen is fully equipped. The arrangement of bedrooms and baths provided privacy, quiet and comfort for our three families, total 11 people.. We didn't want to be in a city neighborhood, so we didn't mind the distance from Park City or Sundance. We loved the drive to Sundance! The local Kamas grocers covered what we didn't have. We had a perfect time. The whole family said yes we want to do this again HERE.
We loved the access to hiking trails in the Uintahs and the creek in the back yard.
We had a wonderful stay here for our family reunion. We had a great time together and staying in this spacious home made our stay comfortable. The location was perfect. Far enough to be secluded but close enough for last minute grocery store runs. The house had everything we needed; towels, extra blankets and bedding, board games and more. The owners are amazing and accommodating. Last minute we decided to stay one night and they allowed us to stay that extra night. We will definitely be staying here again!
Perfect for our family! Very nice home with plenty of room for our entire crew. Definitely a place we all want to come back to! The location is perfect! We could easily get into the uintas for hiking, fishing, and canoeing, but were close to kamas for grocery stores and dinning out. We spent a full day at the kamas rec center and a day at jordanelle where we rented sea doos and paddle boards. The grassy backyard was nice for playing, eating, and sleeping in the hammocks we brought. The fire pit and bbq were well used and it was wonderful to have the stream and mountain right by the backyard. We ended up having family pictures taken while we were there and they turned out great! Temperatures are nice and cool. It was so nice to be away from the city, yet close enough for those that had to work a couple of days in salt lake to commute. The owner has the place well stocked with books, games, puzzles, and supplies for cooking for the kitchen, bbq, and fire pit. We just can't say enough about how wonderful this property is!
We had an awesome youth retreat at this property. The layout was absolutely perfect for our needs. It is a beautiful property and the photos online do not do it justice. It blew our expectations out of the water. Krista, the manager was fantastic and very attentive. I plan to return to again with my family and to host another retreat in the future.
We had a wonderful time playing the yard, making a campfire, roasting smores, bbqing, and playing x box. We spent the day canoeing at mirror lake, eating at Mountain Hi Drugs, and swimming at the aquatic center. The cabin was clean and beautiffuly decorstrd. Thank you for a great time!
My family loved the house, yard, and the area. Perfect spot to get away.
The family enjoyed the stay!
Everything about this place was perfect! It was clean, spacious and felt like home. Beds were comfy, furniture and decor was darling! Kitchen well stocked with pots, pans and dishes. We enjoyed s'mores at the fire pit and bbq on the grill. Tons of games and stuff for kids to do. We couldn't find the portacrib but we made do. The yard is fenced however the fire pit is right next to the river without a fence so we are too nervous for the younger kids to be out there. I would highly recommend this place and will likely book it again.
The property was top notch and comfortable. Plenty to do inside and out. We'd love to come back and would definitely recommend this place!
This was a very nice property and we had a great time. We'll be returning in the future.
We enjoyed being able to have a fire burn while we talked and visited in the nice large eating and gathering area. Everything was well furnished. Lots of extra blankets for staying warm. Might suggest you get a rain gutter over the front door. Getting in and out when it is raining or the snow is melting from the roof is interesting--you get wet. But other than that very enjoyable.
Our family had a lovely time in this beautiful home. Plenty of room for the whole family. All the basics were supplied plus a darling little Christmas tree. We were without hot water for almost 16 hours which forced us to cancel our breakfast plans because we could not shower in the morning. The owners were very responsive and remedied it right away but this is a reoccurring problem and it needs to be corrected so that future guests are not affected.
Could not be more pleased with our stay at the Kamas cabin property. We had an adult party of 10 stay for 2 nights and 3 days. When they let us know that everything would be included, they mean EVERYTHING. We had absolutely every imaginable item we could need (paper towels, dishes, sheets, laundry soap, extra pillows and blankets). The hosts were very kind and offered every chance to make our stay perfect. We loved every small detail of this perfectly remodeled cabin. The master bedroom is an entire suite upstairs and offered a perfect retreat. LOVED this place and plan on staying here annually. Highest of recommendations.
The place was perfect for my family. We were hosting a large group for a holiday dinner, and were able to cook and serve a huge meal for the entire group. Great sleeping accommodations,, beautiful area, awesome wood burning stove! No complaints!
The property is very warm and inviting, the owners very accommodating. Perfect for the 1-16 year old that where in our group. The home is excellently equipped with sleeping accommodations, linen, towels, toiletries. The kitchen and dinning areas above expectations. The yard and riverside bank fire-pit awesome! Lots of deer to watch in the early morning and evenings, stars galore on clear nights. Would love to stay again, lovey. On another note we went 24 hours without hot water, the water heater bummed out, a near by maintenance man was called in and was very attentive, pleasant and polite. The owners offered apology but that was the extent of their concern. It was very inconvenient, we had a photographer scheduled for family pictures and had to boil water to do just about everything, very time consuming and difficult with 7 children. If not for the water heater issue and minimal consern about it from owners it would have got 5 stars
Nicely decorated, amenities clean. Everything is stocked. Just need clothes and food. Close to hikes and things to do. Nice fire pit. Great for large groups!
Going here Fhe a girls weekend was great. There's was plenty of room for the 9 of us. in the house we couldn't get phone service but i thought that was just fine. The only thing that the girl's didn't like was there was a couple of last bug nests on the ceiling in the bedroom upstairs. Other Then that it was so nice to just be up out of the chaos of the city
Looking at options around Kamas and the Mirror lake Highway was limited, therefore finding a place that could host our party of 14 (6 Adults 8 Children) and be close to Kamas, Oakley & Jordanelle this Cabin hit the mark. The floor plan is very open and spacious with plenty of room in the dining and living room area. Great beds in the two main level bedrooms and the bunk room with trundles for the kids worked perfect. The Master on the upper level is huge, great bed with large master bath and again very open and spacious feel. The Cabin is finished inside very well and maintains a cabin feel while still offering a very new updated and modern look. One of the biggest hits for our group with several children was the backyard and firepit area. Nice fenced Grass area with a patio and then a great outdoor setting with the fire tucked in down by the creek. If there was one downside the cabin is right on the Highway and plenty of traffic over the weekend, the backyard makes it easy to avoid but with small kids that was our only concern. Lastly I would like to state that the owners went above and beyond making sure we enjoyed our stay and had a great trip. We would stay here again and hope to spend a few more days in the area as there is plenty to do within a 10-15 minute drive in each direction.
We so thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautifully refurbished barn. As the pictures show, it's remarkably decorated. The master bedroom + en suite bathroom space is huge - the whole second level, and we loved the open floor plan of the kitchen/dining/living space that opened up to the backyard. On that topic, we LOVED the backyard space as well, and enjoyed dinner out there followed up by relaxing around the campfire each night. The location feels remote - the highway that it's on is really low traffic, and you couldn't hear it at all from inside the house. We rented canoes across the street and enjoyed checking out the many alpine lakes in the area, and within a quick 20-minute drive, were able to take advantage of Park City's seemingly endless single track. While this was a work trip, we all talked about how great it would be for a family vacation. I hope to return some day for just that.
This home is absolutely gorgeous and has lots of space for a larger group. Every little detail was thought of in the house from the kitchen supplies to the ample amount of bedding and towels. It definitely felt like home and we all loved it. The house is on a pretty busy road which I hadn't realized before booking, so that would be the only thing that I wish I would've known. The backyard is pretty loud from the cars and during some key times around 9am and 6pm it sounds a bit like a raceway. :) Lots of motorcycles zooming up the canyon. The backyard does feel pretty private from the fence but there are two neighbors right up against the property. They were very nice people but we did need to keep track of the time when staying out in the backyard around the fire because we didn't want to bother anyone. Overall, it's a super lovely house. The owners are kind. There is lots of parking for guests. The fire pit is great. The creek in the backyard is small but really pretty. But do note that the neighbors are quite close and it's not a very serene backyard at times.
When we came to the house on the first day, I had two concerns. First, that it is close to a very busy highway. However, if we were in the house or in the back yard, we didn't hear cars at all. The second concern is that there is no air conditioning in the home, and we were staying in august. However, the temperatures were pretty reasonable. When it got hot in the house, we turned the fans on and opened the windows, and that took care of it. All in all, it was a very nice stay. Everything was clean and well kept. We especially liked the large dining room table so that all of our company could eat at the table at once.
We are so happy that we found this property. This was a fantastic property for a great price and was so much better than staying at a unit that is part of condo complex next to Jordanelle. The view out the back door and in the canyon was amazing. We loved the backyard with an area for yard games and a fire pit for s'mores. The creek was relaxing too. The house was perfect and we loved the large table in the kitchen to accommodate everyone. We could have used more seating for enjoying a movie with a large group. We will definitely consider this property for our next annual summer family gathering. It's beats camping outdoors but affords all of the best aspects of camping.
WE TRULY ENJOYED OUR STAY AT THE BIG RED BARN AND IT PROVIDED ENTERTAINMENT FOR OUR WHOLE FAMILY! SPACIOUS AND COMFORTABLE - THE LARGE TABLE IN THE DINING AREA WAS PLENTY BIG FOR US TO ALL BE AROUND AND MANY A GAMES WERE PLAYED THERE WELL INTO THE NIGHT! WOODSY WHILE STILL BEING CLOSE TO MODERN CONVENIENCES. WE TOOK GRANDBABIES FISHING UP THE ROAD AT THE TROUT FARM AND HIKED THRU THE FAIRY FORREST. MY HUSBAND WAS FOUND FISHING IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS WITH OUR GRANDSON AND THE BON FIRE EACH NIGHT WITH SMORES WAS A HUGE HIT!!! OWNERS WERE VERY ACCOMODATING - WHEN I HAD QUESTIONS, I ALWAYS GOT A RESPONSE - BEFORE/DURING AND AFTER OUR STAY! I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH! THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL 4 DAYS!
This place was perfect for our family of 10 (6 adults, 4 kids)! We didn't have any problems reserving or accessing the property. All questions were answered quickly by the owner. We loved the fenced in yard so little kids couldn't escape. We loved the fire pit and stream right out the back. There were plenty of amenities that were useful (wifi, washer & dryer, Xbox, etc.) The kitchen was well stocked for cooking for our group. This place had plenty of room for us all. We didn't feel cramped in any way. We had many events planned in the local area, but ended up skipping some of those and hanging around the Red Barn because we enjoyed it so much. This place is close to some great activities if you need to get out - trout farm down the road, Mirror Lake Scenic Parkway + Provo River Falls, Kamas Aquatics Center, Olympic Park in Park City, Tanger Outlet Mall, and Park City itself. We highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a comfortable place to stay that is close-ish to the city while being around the great outdoors.
Beautiful property and home. The fire pit out back next to the river, was the perfect end to our active summer days. The kitchen was equipped perfectly, with all the kitchen tools we could have asked for. Sadly, the air conditioning wasn't working properly, therefore we didn't get a break from the heat, the house temp did not go below 75. The beds, bedrooms and bathrooms were amazing for our family and fit perfectly. It would have been nice to know in advance that we would not have been able to access the garage, for parking and storing luggage. I'd highly recommend the property to friends, we may visit this home again ourselves, although it would be after a conversation about the property manager about the air conditioning.
The cabin was very peaceful. It was very well stocked. My son and family are moving to Kentucky and I wanted a fun family experience before they left. I feel like we had a great time together and it accommodated all ages from 1 year to 83 years. There was something for all. The property was clean and well maintained. Emails were responded to promptly. The only thing that didn't match the description is that I didn't see a printer. But that wasn't necessary and we would not have used it. I would recommend this to others. It was great that the yard is fenced and the fire pit is in a different area. This allowed for a fire without having to worry about little children by the fire unless they were by us. We started our day with fishing at the Trout farm nearby. We painted rocks and took up to The Fairy Forest. We also went to Deer creek and rented a wake board, wave runner and played with Kayaks. There was also plenty to do at the cabin. Thank you
We had a fantastic time celebrating my husbands 50th birthday. The place was clean and very properly maintained. The cabin was beautiful it was decorated so nice the owner has fabulous taste . The kitchen was stocked with all the needed supplies for cooking meals together. The beds were all very comfortable. We took the kids up the road to the family fishing pond and the absolutely loved it! The Samak smoke house that was across the street had tasty treats of smoked cheese, Chai tea and jerky. We enjoyed the time around the fire pit in the back cooking some Dutch oven meals, cobblers and making s'mores with the beautiful mountain side and the sounds of the creek. I would definitely recommend staying there and would stay there again in the future.
Top notch house. Fully remodeled, fully stocked. Great furnishings, wood stove, entertainment center, etc... Has everything you need ready to go except soap and shampoo. This is really a nice place to stay and i would recommend it to anyone. I've stayed at a bunch of VRBO's over the years and this house is one of the best. The only thing that would make this better would be a hot tub for us snowmobilers after a long day of riding. .
This place was lovely. The fall color was gorgeous, the hiking just what we wanted, and the layout was great for our two families. We played board games, card games, had a fire and s'mores one night, and slept well every night. After reading one of the reviews that said they didn't get their entry code on time, I was stressed when our's was late. I sent a few emails (they never gave me any #s), and we got it just before we got there (they had promised it the morning of). So, our stay was fabulous, but you should be sure you get that entry code! Also, as part of the rental, they required me to either pay a $3000 security deposit or buy that much rental insurance, which I've never had to do before. They said they were small children friendly (and the house was set up well for them), but I ended up being stressed about the furniture, etc, even though we are normally the type to leave a place better than we found it. I'm sure they have good reasons for doing that (not all renters are conscientious), but it did add a small measure of stress for me.
Place was clean and large enough for two families to spread out. The kitchen had all the equipment that four cooks would need. It was nicely decorated and the X-box was a hit with the boys. The adults even had fun one night with karaoke. Would recommend to friends. Just wished it was on the other side of Park City so that our drive to Alta and Solitude would be a little shorter.
The picture makes the residence look more isolated than it really is. It is right on the highway but once you walk into the house you feel separated from it. The house was very comfortable, clean and homey. We loved the fenced backyard for children to play in. We also ate outside because there was more room and we enjoyed being outdoors. We brought a couple of tables and some extra chairs. There was not as much space inside for several people to be seated to eat. We loved the accessibility to the mountains where we went hiking. We also enjoyed kayaking at the lake and visiting the Provo River Falls. Although we didn't visit Park City because of children it is certainly very accessible for a fun visit to shop and eat out. Thank you for letting us share your beautiful home. It was a great getaway without going far from home.
Our extended family enjoyed our stay at this home. Everything was clean and as noted in the listing. There were games to play and puzzles to do. We caught lots of trout in the stream and had a great time hiking around the area. The only reason I took off a star was the location on a busy road. The backyard was fenced but there were so many cars traveling right in front of the house, it made me nervous with so many little kids around. Other than that, it was fantastic.
We loved our stay at the Mirror Lake Lodge. It was accommodating for our group of 9 adults and 3 little ones. Kristen attended to every detail. The rooms were beautiful and the kitchen well stocked. The area was gorgeous and it was a perfect get away for our family to descend for a few days. Every detail about the lodge was first rate and comfortable! The master suite, laundry facilities, XBox games, board games, 3 bathrooms and isolated sleeping areas were accomodating for our little group. The reason why I didn't give it a 5 star have to do with location. Although the canyon was beautiful and close to many amenities . . .we went fishing, boating at the Jordanelle and to the beautiful South Summit Rec center while we were there . . .there was plenty to do . . . with little ones, I wish we had been more isolated and not just off a major road. The backyard was wonderful for them to play in, but we would have enjoyed walks in the canyon, hikes to a park, creek or waterfalls without having to drive first. That cramped us into the lodge on our down time. Other than that . . . we wouldn't change a thing!
This place is great! The pictures don't even begin to do it justice. It was so nice to have family and kid friendly areas like the fenced in area with lush lawn and play equipment for the kids to play on without having to worry about them. It was also great to have a bunk room for them to all sleep together with their cousins. The kitchen was very well equipped and the home is very well put together. We utilized the firepit and fun was had by all. We didn't really let the kids get near the river since it was running swift and high, but it was nice to have the fence to keep them away. It was so convenient to be so close to Kamas if we needed to run and get something, and also be close to so many hiking trails, atv trails, lakes, and rivers just up the road to go exploring on. We have a family cabin about 15 miles away from here but I would definitely rent this place again in the future. Thanks for the opportunity to share your vacation home!
Your place was absolutely beautiful and met all of our families needs. The kids loved being up there.
We had issues with our arrival at the rental. The day prior to our arrival we received the conformation email with door code and other specifics as planned. However, the door code was wrong in the email. We spent the first evening frantically sending emails and phone calls trying to figure out how to get in. The property manager was unfortunately out of the country and so didn't get our messages until the following morning. We had to head back to Salt Lake and find alternative lodging. The following day, we got the correct door code. The email had transposed some numbers. Once inside, the place was wonderful. The kitchen came well stocked with spices and other goods which was a welcome surprise. We actually had all of the ingredients to make cookies without even going to the store. The rooms where spacious and well furnished. The backyard was a great fenced in place for our small kids to play. Beyond the fence was a nice firepit and beautiful creek. The owner of the property ended up giving us 2 nights free (including the one we didn't get to spend in the rental) and a gift basket to make up for the mistake. I felt this was adequate. Overall, the place is great. Just wish the property manager had given us the right door code and also arranged for someone to be in the country and available at least on the first night to make sure that we got settled ok.
The home was very beautiful and well appointed with everything we needed to relax and enjoy the winter scenery, and have some fun. We played board games, and cooked delicious food. The kitchen is fabulous, and was fun to cook in for our large group. I would love to stay there again.
The cabin was even nicer than I expected. The accommodations were perfect, and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and fun to cook in. The upstairs master bedroom suite was a nice spacious getaway from noisy teenaged playing the Xbox and watching movies. Thank you so much.
