Athol, Idaho

This property is on 160 forested acres. There are 3 beautifully furnished cabins and a very large 5 bedroom/6 bath main building. Your group will enjoy the perfect balance of private space and communal areas. Huge commercial kitchen, screened porch, outdoor fireplace, and a movie room.

Connect with family as you explore shady forests, open fields or rocky hillsides.Wildlife is abundant- you will almost certainly see deer, elk, hawks, bluebirds or wild turkeys, maybe even a moose! Enjoy evenings on the large screened porch or inside watching a movie on the 135" movie screen. The lodge operates part of the year as a destination recording studio, so the suites, cabins, and common areas are designed for a group of people to enjoy together comfortably for a week or more.

Cooking for large groups will be a pleasure in the commercial kitchen. There is ample refrigerator/freezer space, 3 ovens, char-broiler, and large griddle as well as a commercial dishwasher which cleans a load of dishes in under 3 minutes! The kitchen is well-stocked with large pots and pans and numerous serving dishes and warmers. Amenities include an ice machine and espresso maker.

The location is excellent! You'll turn off the highway and drive down a private, gated country road. Even though it is just a short distance from highway to property, you'll feel like you are a million miles from everything. The property is located between Sandpoint and Coeur d'Alene, two of the most popular tourist towns in North Idaho. We are less than 15 minutes from the Northwest's largest theme/water park, Silverwood. Also within minutes is the town of Bayview and Farragut State Park. This is a spectacular 4000 acre park at the south end of Lake Pend Oreille, the state's largest (43 miles long) lake. It's also the deepest (at 1,158 feet deep, there are only four deeper lakes in the nation). It's got terrific scenery, clean water, big fish, and a fascinating history. Picnic areas and swimming holes, boat rentals, fishing charters, Frisbee golf as well as a Naval Museum can all be found around Farragut and Bayview. 30 minutes south of the property is the beautiful resort town of Coeur d'Alene, and 30 minutes north is Sandpoint, home to Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort and the Sandpoint Music Festival. Both towns have antiquing, golfing, great restaurants, shopping and lots of wonderful summer and winter activities.

Your 7 night stay includes one free hour in the karaoke room. Contact us for rates for additional time, or to use your time for recording instead. The room has a stage with 4 mics, disco lights, a fog machine, a great sound system, a huge music and karaoke library, multiple video monitors for displaying the lyrics, floor monitors to hear yourself and an audio engineer and assistant to make sure everything runs smoothly. This room has so many uses! Dance, sing, listen to records, or have a family jam (we have instruments!).

This is an amazingly beautiful place with lots of room to roam. There was a well stocked kitchen, a hot tub, cute cabins, a game room, and even a theater. Everything was super clean and communication with the owner was simple. Only down falls or things to consider are: 1. Bring your own tissues. Currently there was only one box in the theater. I have allergies, so always keep tissues on hand. 2. Toilet paper was the extra thin stuff. It felt like you had to use half a roll just to get the job done. 3. They could have had a few more small trash cans around. These are just small things. This really is a great place to stay!

I was a bit dismayed when we drove up to the property. Based on the website pictures, I imagined it was a lovely porch wrapped log house. It's not. But, as soon as you are inside, you forget about the metal siding and find yourself engulfed in a lovely warm, functional, versatile abode. We had 18 people there for a work retreat - there was plenty of space for us to work as a full group and for us to spread out for break out sessions and discussions. The firehouse, doll house, and climbing structure were wonderful (yes, we're all adults, but some of us couldn't resist re-enacting the Titanic on the top of the climbing structure, or sliding down the fireman pole in the firehouse). The kitchen had everything we needed at more, including a variety of spices. Though I didn't stay in the cabins, they were perfectly functional and welcoming, though the heaters didn't work very well, so the inhabitants were a bit cold - some extra blankets would have been nice. All in all, there is a good chance we'll be back here next year for our retreat.

This property far exceeded our expectations. Every year we search for a place for our 35 family members and this by far was the best we have found in 15 years. The space, the quiet, the facilities including sleeping, dining, kitchen, outdoor was wonderful. With all the family we usually expect a lot of noise but this facility is insulated so well and so extensive for places to hang out that we never felt on top of each other. It is out in the forest so there are no distractions, yet it is close to other attractions; Sandpoint, Triple play, Silverwood to name a few. From ages 69 to 1 year old, I can't imagine a better place. The kitchen was so amazing with all the facilities, stocked with every imaginable kitchen appliance, not to mention the industrial dishwasher that cleaned trays of dishes in 2 minutes. Although we were there just last week (August 11-18, 2019), we have already recommended it to friends with large families. Thank you Corrie and Chris for having such a nice place for us to enjoy!

About 40 people stayed here for a week for our family reunion... and I can't say enough nice things about Corrie and Chris and the whole experience! By the second day, people were talking about coming back for our next reunion. We cooked group dinners every day in the commercial kitchen, and I think all fell in love with its commercial dishwasher. Another highlight was the playhouses (they looked great from the photos but the attention to detail, especially the firehouse, was insane!). We didn't use the recording studio but the owners very nicely showed us around - it is an absolutely beautiful space! Maybe next time! Also, the main house's sound proofing is terrific, which makes sense given the recording studio. We had a number of small children, and I know their parents appreciated being able to hang out nearby at night (sometimes with baby monitors) without worrying about making too much noise for the sleeping kids. All in all, just really fantastic. Thank you!! Hopefully we'll be back. =)

Cider Mountain was just perfect for our large family of 40+ ranging in age from 1 to 74. We all had a wonderful time. We all had a place to relax and enjoyed everything from the billiard and game rooms to the hot tub. Meal prep was made super easy with the well-stocked kitchen. There was ample serving space and everyone had a place to sit. The ice machine was a definite bonus and we’re so happy it was available. When the temperature in the kitchen got uncomfortably hot, the owner responded quickly and helped us resolve it. The house had everything we needed and many, many extras. We loved being together as a family at this location. In fact, everyone wants to return.

Cider Mt. Retreat Lodge.... What is there NOT to like?? So many specifics to make your stay enjoyable, unique, comfortable, relaxing, and most memorable! What a FIND..after an extensive internet facility search task. Corrie, her husband, and entire staff had The Lodge readied for our arrival & week long stay. Our Family of families, 34 in #, immensely enjoyed themselves & kept on asking, How did you find such an perfect place for all of us?? Tucked back in the Idaho countryside, we were totally lost within our family enjoyment and activities. Usage of every feature, The Lodge & the spacious cabins offered more than sufficient room for our reunion. The property is serene, the grounds good for family fun, majestic trees tower over The Lodge, and allow life to take on the characteristics of seclusion from the hustle n' bustle of 'life in town'. Accommodating our family rendezvous to the enjoyment of all, was amazingly enhanced by the commercial kitchen, which for us served as 'the hub' of ongoing eating activity morning, noon, & evening, with frequent individual treks into that kitchen for the occasional snack! The kitchen at The Lodge is truly the best! All the cooks within our group gave it thumbs up. The ultimate value of this wonderful facility is the commercial kitchen which reduces the amount of work it takes to feed a crowd of hungry people for a week!. We don't want to forget to mention the ceilings within the Lodge which have soundproofing. This is a big benefit for sleeping at night& even resting during the day. You cannot hear anyone else outside your own bedroom. If you have young children & a crying baby they do not disturb anyone else. There is much more to say about Cider Mt. Lodge that is remarkable. We want to thank Corrie for her attentiveness to providing a facility that does not in any way disappoint & therefore we find truly worthy of 5***** & beyond. JJ & J California

We were a family group of 22, aging between 77 years and 7 months. The facility was certainly large enough and comfortable enough for us all (I didn't ask the 7-month old but I think he was okay with it). There is actually so much to do on the property itself we hardly had to worry about leaving, especially the younger group. In fact, we kept so busy we never made it to the amusement park down the road. Some of the busy included day trips to Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint but there was always someone at the house doing something. And the kitchen . . . I want one!! The bedrooms, baths, cabins, etc., were all very comfortable and the patio in the evening was a popular gathering place. Dinner was usually cooked outdoors and the late afternoons and evenings saw plenty of family time around the fire pit while different family members displayed their grilling skills. The owners were so responsive to our questions and helpful in every way, we would all give them five stars or gold medals or even an Oscar, Grammy and Emmy all rolled up into one for their gracious attention to our group. We are all looking forward to a return to Silverwood.

We just finished our 3rd family reunion at Cider Mountain Lodge. It is a phenomenal facility, superbly maintained, with gracious and responsive owners. Although we like to explore new places and spend a lot of time investigating other options before each reunion, our 6 very opinionated children voted unanimously to request it for a 4th reunion in 2019. That really says it all, but here are a few of the features that make it perfect for us: Large and well apportioned kitchen with a commercial dishwasher that is fun to use. High quality barbeque grills. Large and well apportioned game and movie rooms. Large enough to accommodate 40 people eating at the same time inside or out. Wonderful playground with two play houses. Large house that accommodates several families and 3 cabins that allow a bit more privacy and independence for those who prefer that (a perfect balance for our family). Well manicured lawn and soccer field. Basketball court. Karaoke room. Convenient for activities in Sandpoint, Coeur d'Alene, and Kellogg (but we spend more and more time on site each reunion because it facilitates such wonderful interactions).

It is so big, not even counting the three cabins and huge field. There is a movie room, a pool table room, a large family room, and, everyone's favorite, a huge commercial kitchen! Corrie and Chris did not miss a single thing at this property. Our family gets together every couple of years or so and this place, hands down, is an 11 out of 10. Our age range for the group was 3 months to 89 years old. For the infants and people who like to take naps, the house was completely sound proof. With a big group this was so helpful! High chairs and pack and plays are here already, a couple of each! Lots of outside equipment for those that like to kick or throw a ball around. Easy to set up a phone and play music outside. Beautiful outdoor fire place and outside grill. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, utensils, variety of spices for cooking and baking. Commercial sized everything! So much fridge space and ice machine. Poker room, billiards room, movie theater/arcade, laundry facility, recording studio, karaoke with a stage, etc. This is the spot! The place is unreal. I highly recommend to any large group getting together. Definitely worth a long flight if you're coming from far away! Corrie and Chris have really made it hard for us to think about going anywhere else. They've set a high bar! Thanks for a great week!

The little ones enjoyed the playground and the play houses----seemed to like their own space. The back yard was well maintained and gave everyone room to run and play. The hot tub was popular with the adults, teens, and even the younger ones. There is a nice sized tv/family room where we could all gather---usually in the evenings. In that same room were some video games that all enjoyed. The teens loved the game room where they could play cards. The beds were very comfortable and every family had a space to be. The commercial kitchen was amazing and had plenty of room to store our food. There was plenty of eating spaces to gather in. We loved the ice machine and 2 minute dishwasher! The owners went above and beyond, the facility is top notch and the beds super comfortable. All our friends continue to talk about what a wonderful time they had and how they want to return again! Thanks so much!

I'm not one to generally complete reviews, but I would be doing the travelling public and the owners of this property a dis-service by not completing same. Our group of 7 families (24 in total), aged 6-65, just returned from one of the most fantastic vacations or our lifetime. This place is incredible, as are the owners, and offers more amenities than you could possibly imagine! If you are looking for luxury, and a place that offers your family endless activities (or simply a relaxing atmosphere), then this is the place for you! Thank you Cory and Chris for exceeding all of our expectations! We will be back!

    Family reunions

We held a family reunion at Cider Mountain in 2013 and loved it so much we returned in 2015. We had 7 families with 30+ people each time, ranging in age from 3 to 70+. The facility is absolutely perfect and was better in 2015 than in 2013. We loved all aspects of it - cleanliness, the magnificent kitchen, roomy and well apportioned suites and cabins, big living and dining room, karaoke room, games, laundry room, hot tub, playground with two well constructed play houses, soccer field, basketball court, and lots of space to hike, run, and explore. And it's close to Lake Pend Orielle, Sandpoint, and Coeur d'Alene with lots of activities and exciting things to do. The Phillips are terrific. Everything was as promised and they were kind and responsive to requests. We couldn't recommend it more highly. Just don't try to reserve it when we want to schedule our next reunion. :)

A family reunion to remember thanks to the beauty of Cider Mountain and the family that runs this site. This is an amazing place where every detail is attended to. The main house, the cabins, as well as the grounds are immaculate. There was everything we needed in the professional kitchen. There was something for every age and everyone took advantage playing the arcade games, disc golf, ping pong, basketball, shooting pool or just relaxing on the patio or screened in porch. The pictures of this site do not begin to show how great it really is. Corrie and Chris were always helpful, responding quickly to our every question and concern. Not sure how to express our gratitude other than by just saying THANKS for helping make our reunion such a success. A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT goes to their daughter who came through when our photographer cancelled at the last minute. Every family asked me to say a SPECIAL THANKS for the wonderful portraits of their individual family groups. Thanks Tessa for stepping in and doing such a professional job. We loved the instant gratification of being able to take our photo files home with us.

The property was excellent. Pictures and descriptions are as accurate as they can be.

As with any unseen rental, we were optimistic. But as other family members arrived before us we started receiving texts from them say the place is fabulous, unbelievable, wonderful so we could not wait to arrive. We were not disappointed. The main house has everything you need from entertainment to cooking needs. Fully stocked industrial kitchen, game room, laundry facilities were all in great shape. The cabins were a great get away for the grandparents, quiet and just far enough from the main house to get rest if required. The grounds are well maintained and again well provisioned with outdoor sports equipment. The crown jewels would be the owners, Corrie and Chris. They were just a phone call away and responded immediately to the smallest request. Thank you both for a wonderful stay.

    Simply stated... PERFECT!

Only one word can adequately describe Cider Mountain - PERFECT! We just completed our family reunion last week and everyone had a fantastic time, and a big reason for that was Cider Mountain. We have been doing these family reunions for the past 15 years...and the Cider Mountain property was without a doubt the best, definitely. We have stayed in very nice accommodations in Summit County Colorado, Black Hills South Dakota, Zion National Park Utah, etc - but this place was far better. It not only has great amenities, beds, espresso maker (which was a huge hit with everyone), juke box, wireless speakers throughout, chair lift for the stairs, amazing kitchen, massage chair, outdoor fireplace, large screened porch, laundry room with multiple washer/dryer, nicely furnished, etc., etc.,....but also has activities for everyone of all ages (we ranged from ages 7 to 85) with video games, board games, pool, ping pong, basketball, karaoke, poker table, tetherball, soccer goals, playhouses, frisbee golf, volleyball, Jacuzzi, outdoor shower, huge lawn area for playing sports, large back yard deck, and the list goes on. Prior to booking, I looked at a lot of places and read a lot of reviews - I am one of those people who does a lot of research, so I had high expectations of this home before I showed up - but the pictures and reviews are not able to adequately describe this place. And then on top of all this, the owners Chris and Corrie were simply great to work with. They did everything to help make our stay amazing and even resolved issues for us that were not theirs to resolve - to put it simple, if you cannot get along with these two nice people, you may have issues. I highly, highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a perfect and private retreat home for a group of 25 to 45. We will be going back...and thank you Chris and Corrie for making this reunion the best one we've had...

Wish we could give more than 5 stars!

Beautiful, amazing, functional, thought of everything, couldn't ask for a better home away from home... these are a few of the statements that come to mind. Chris and Corrie have done a phenomenal job creating a retreat home that is perfect for families, or wild women on the loose! This is our 2nd stay here and we look forward to many more.

The house was wonderful: super clean and beautifully decorated. The beds are very comfortable. Everyone in our family loved this place! The owners have gone to great lengths to make it a comfortable home away from home. The kitchen has everything one might need. There was a lot to do for all the kids from teenagers down to the little ones. And our most memorable time was our family talent show and karaoke in the studio! What a blast! We would definitely recommend Cider Mountain as a vacation rental and we are definitely looking into coming back. Thanks for everything, Corrie & Chris!

Over the years we have rented/stayed at numerous places via VRBO. This one, hands down, is the best, most awesome place ever!! Our entire girls fastpitch team and their families stayed here. In total we had approximately 32 adults and children combined and there was PLENTY of space for all. The kids thought this place was better than Disneyland. There was so much to do, the kids never got bored. Even the adults were caught more than once playing all the video games once the kids had gone to bed :) We ended our trip with a super fun night of karaoke that was the best. The owners are wonderful to work with. They are right there if you need anything. They went above and beyond for us during our entire stay. They are extremely hospitable and super easy to work with. This place was extremely convenient to Silverwood, though we only went there one day because of ball games. The commercial kitchen was huge and allowed many of us to be in there at once and not bump into each other. The serving kitchen also worked out perfectly to set up all the food and just have everyone come through in a line. Tons of seating. Another favorite was the music that is piped into every room. All our girls were in the bunk room (which was also awesome in and of itself-worked like a dorm room for all 9 of our girls) and had to get up bright and early a couple of the morning for games. They would crank the music and get pumped up and ready for the games. We also loved having the jukebox for meals and game time as well as poker time. Even with all that said, there were still several things we did not get a chance to do i.e. the dunk tank and will definitely be returning next year and staying a little long to relax and enjoy the property more. I would highly recommend this place to any groups even remotely considering staying here.

The entertainment room and arcade room kept everyone entertained when we were home, kitchen was large so we had enough room to feed us all. We have looked around and there is no other place like it. We hope to return again. The owners were more than accommodating. Close to shopping, Silverwood, and lots of really nice lakes. You will not be disappointed and book early.

This property is absolutely the greatest! It was accurately described with lots of photos. Every thing sparkling clean. The Phillip's are very helpful and immediately replied to any question that we had. There were 33 of us and plenty of places to sleep, relax and play. Loved the commercial kitchen with every available utensil, lots of dishes, pots and pans, and unending ice! Many, many games and things to do for all ages. Property is very close to Silver Wood Theme Park and Farragut State Park which were enjoyed by all. I would highly recommend this property not only for families but as a place for business retreats, seminars and recording groups.

We have been holding family reunions for the past ±15 years. This is far and away the best site we've found. The facilities are extraordinary and the maintenance/cleanliness is the best. If anything, the facilities are better than the description; they just couldn't include everything and be concise. Moreover, the owners, Corrie and Chris, are immediatley available to handle any questions and address every need. The location offers access to so many activities that I believe we can keep returning for several more years without duplicating any experiences. We toured, hiked, enjoyed watersports, but didn't have time to get to the amusement park that is only 10 minutes away! The kids prefered to stay at the reunion site. It was that good. Highly, highly recommended.

We had a great time staying in a wonderful house. The house was filled with : lots of toys and games for kids. The kitchen had everything you possibly can imagine to have. If you are an outdoor person you would love it(volleyball net, soccer field, hot tub, fire pit, and a big playground). It was very quiet outside it feels like you are in the middle of a forest. The bedrooms were comfortable with modern furniture and had every needed item. Our group (16 adults and 25 kids) expirienced the best getaway time ever!!!

The spacious common rooms, plentiful beds and baths, and the helpful hosts contributed to our high level of satisfaction. The high-tech extras were quite a surprise: the xbox kinect, the ipod sound system, the arcade games, the fabulous commercial dishwasher. and the incomparable espresso machine with all the flavorings; truly something for every palate. The hot tub was also a big hit. Thanks to our hosts for being readily available to help with some of the details during our stay.

We just completed a week at this beautiful lodge. I arranged it for my family reunion this year. We had 31 of us there. The place is amazing. The 3 separate cabins were perfect for our kids that had families of small children. The main house has a bunk house type room where all our older single adult kids slept and they loved it. Then my parents and brothers and sisters stayed in the rooms with private baths. It was perfect for us. We had brought up our boat to spend time on the lake but several days the family stayed at the cabin and played since it was so nice. The owners are great hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed and were so accommodating. I would highly recommend this place for family groups.

Every year my sorority goes on a spring sisterhood retreat; we normally camp out in tents for a night but this year I decided to change things. I found the link to this cabin and instantly knew I had to have it for the retreat. All the pictures on the website doesn't even capture all the amazing features of this cabin. It comfortably fit all 55 of the girls and the open arcade, and hot tube kept all the girls entertained. Everyone had a wonderful time, we all dreaded leaving, and we are all really hoping to make this a tradition!

There were about 24 of us ranging in age from 10 to 70, in a mini family re-union! This property was perfect. Beds for everyone, great living/family/dining room for all of to gather in, the outside cabins for those who wanted privacy.Something for everyone, Pool, ping pong, cards, and even PAC-MAN! The hammocks were so nice and relaxing! The huge professional kitchen was also a huge hit! Everyone wanted to cook something in that kitchen! The Phillips were so gracious and kind, they gave us a tour of the wonderful recording studio, and it was a hit with everyone, specially the teenagers! The large open field out side was perfect for playing ball, and Frisbee. The only hard part, was that no one wanted to go anywhere because it was so much fun just to stay in the property. Also, bring plenty of mosquito repellent, because the mosquitoes are viscous! Overall the place exceeded our expectations, and we hope to come back again and again.

A great and relaxing place. Corrie and her husband were perfect host. Just a call away.
