This two bedroom, two bath vacation home is walking distance to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park and biking distance to some of the premiere wineries in the region. Our house is now Tesla (EV) ready - we are an approved Tesla destination charger, and free charging is included for overnight guests.

This idyllic cottage rests on a year round creek in the historic Adobe Canyon and is situated in a bucolic setting. With private gardens, luminous canyon scenery and wildlife spilling through your cottage windows, you can walk to hiking trails that lead over bridges and waterfalls to spectacular vistas. Picnic at Sugarloaf Ridge or hike to Bald Mountain with 360º views of Northern California and the Golden Gate Bridge. Spend an evening at the Robert Ferguson Observatory at Sugarloaf Park stargazing and learning about current astronomical events.

The kitchen and main bathroom were just remodeled, added a second (full bath but a little smaller with shower but no tub) bathroom in the front bedroom, central air conditioning, new doors and windows, solar and battery backup, new furniture, along with many other upgrades to make your stay more relaxing and enjoyable.
We added a desk with spare PC monitor to plug into your laptop to keep in touch with the office or to work from “home” at the Kenwood Cottage!

From plush down comforters and 100% cotton linens, to all the amenities of a gourmet kitchen, the cottage is a place for true pampering & relaxation. Our beds are top of the line Serta pillow-top mattresses. The master bedroom opens up to the back deck where the hot tub/spa are a just a few steps from your room. Both rooms have remote controlled ceiling fans.
The outdoor spa/hot tub is set on the back deck overlooking Sonoma Creek - the largest year-round creek at the Valley of the Moon.
Sip our bottle of complimentary wine while you take a dip in the hot tub under starry nights or have your breakfast on one of the several outdoor tables thoughtfully placed around the cottage. An outdoor grill (new Weber gas grill) and fully equipped kitchen is ready for your culinary artistry.

We just wrapped up an amazing week in the wine country with the Kenwood Cottage as the centerpiece. What an incredible place to stay. Central to nearly everything we did, close to amazing restaurants and right down the street from one of the most incredible wineries we visited (La Rochelle). We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. The owners are responsive and super accommodating and the house is as advertised - except for the deer....there are many more than you would think.
Better than the pictures online and they were great. An amazingly well stocked kitchen. I could live there year round. Already thinking about another visit.
Absolutely amazing, spotless, the sound of the river all day was so beautiful. House had everything we needed. Just beautiful. We had plans to rent for a week and work remote but we cannot because there is no cell service. So bummed. I can text, but for work I need to be able to use my phone.
We had a great time at this property. Perfect for two couples. Great for those wanting to explore some of the more off the beaten path wineries etc. Kitchen was extremely well equipped with anything you could need, including a very well stocked spice cabinet. We enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful time at Kenwood cottage. Such a beautiful a wonderful little cottage. It worked out perfectly for a jumping off point to wine country and great restaurants galore. Wayne was a real gem as well. Anything we needed he was quick to respond.
This house is exactly as described plus some. It is exceptionally clean, well kept and stocked with everything one could need. There are well written directions for everything you might want to use while there. Just a 5 minute ride from a state park with hikes for all level of hikers and immense beauty.

Walking up to the front door, I knew I was in the right place. A lovely stay with very nice homeowners.
Overall great but you need to put a traffic mirror by the mail box across the street from the house . Organization , hot tub , labels , game table , patio seating were all excellent . If you could address the traffic mirror issue we would give a 5 star rating.
This is a wonderful cottage. Our Tahoe trip was canceled due the fire, but so glad we found this place. They do have everything you need. It is a well maintained and clean property. The guidebook at the property walks you through everything you need to know. It was great to sit out back in the peace and quiet by the stream. Very relaxing. Would definitely stay there again and recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing get away.

My husband and our adult son and daughter stayed at this beautiful Kenwood property. From the grassy front yard and welcoming porch to the lovely back patio and gentle flow of a creek, this house is a recipe for calm and rejuvenation. It was stocked with absolutely everything that we could possibly need. We loved relaxing on the super comfy leather furniture in the living room for conversation or while watching favorite shows on the huge TV. There was a refreshing canyon breeze that greeted us on the very private back patio. We even had two deer make their magical appearance by the creek one morning. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. We had a relaxing and very memorable 3 nights in Kenwood thanks to the care and attention to detail of the remarkably hospitable owners.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful place in June and were absolutely thrilled when we arrived! The house looks exactly like it does in the online pictures. Apparently there was a blackout one evening, but we never had a disruption because they have solar power and backup batteries. The only reason we knew about it was because they called to make sure we were okay and that everything was working. We will definitely stay here again if we visit the area. Thank you for making our stay perfect!
The Kenwood Cottage was absolutely perfect inside and out. The hot tub and patio were so relaxing and everything inside was as advertised. Only considerations: 1) there is construction next door that seems likely to take a long time. It started at 7am right next to the bedroom windows. 2) you’re a good 45 minutes from Napa, but the Sonoma and other more northern areas are certainly accessible. Just something to keep in mind! As I said, overall a nice place.

We greatly enjoy staying at the Kenwood Cottage. Wine tasting only minutes away. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub and by the creek. Saw deer 2 evenings on the other side of the creek. Super cute and comfortable cottage.
Perfect location for exploring Moon Valley - food, wineries, nature. The house is in excellent condition, all new appliances, a huge TV set with Comcast channels, plus a collection of DVDs and CDs to play, high speed WiFi, good hot tub, patio and backyard in perfect condition, new patio furniture, the kitchen has all imaginable utensils and tools, dinnerware, stemware, etc. The only small minus is that there was not enough - at least for us- closet space. Other than that - just wat is needed for a perfect vacation.
Had a wonderful time at Kenwood Cottage for spring break. We really enjoyed the creek, hot tub and well stocked house. Loved the close access to various restaurants, wineries and nature areas. A couple items to note: The curvy road made me pretty nervous for parking. Cell reception is pretty spotty but WiFi was great. The keypad to enter was a bit finicky.

We stayed in this cottage for two nights. We had to pick up wine in Napa and Windsor, the cottage was a good location for us. There were two couples. It was perfect for us. The hot tub fit the four of us. The creek running behind the house is so beautiful. It was wonderful to hear the water. We hope to visit again.

Very convenient to the Sonoma Valley. Wayne and Laura have thought of everything, this is the most well provisioned vacation rental I have ever stayed at. Both inside and outside spaces are great.
It was a perfect location for us - four adults who wanted to explore wine country and have a comfortable home base from which to do it. The place was impeccably clean and better stocked than any place we have ever stayed. Although there are neighbors - it is wonderfully isolated and private - quiet, beautifully landscaped. In addition to exploring wine country, one day we took a day trip to Bodega Bay - so great location, great home and great experience.
The Kenwood Cottage is ideally suited for wine tasting. Great restaurants an easy drive away. The neighborhood is quiet. The property is nicely situated with ample room for 2 couples. The outdoor space was ideal for evenings. A nice breeze and no bugs. We would definitely come again.
We spent a week staying at the cottage in Sonoma Valley. It is located on a quiet side road with little traffic. Everything is setup and maintained very well. There is a little creek running behind the cottage. Our entire stay was excellent. Highly recommended!
The pictures do not convey how beautiful the Kenwood Cottage setting is. We felt completely on vacation from the moment we arrived and saw the breeze waving the branches of the trees and heard the sweet rushing of the creek. There is great attention to detail at this rental: Tons of coffee/creamer; hotel-style individual toiletries; a well stocked kitchen with actual *GOOD, SHARP KNIVES!!!* comfortable beds and linens; fans; hand sanitizer; and even a bottle of wine for us. The owners also clearly spent a great deal of time preparing the cottage guest guide with winery and restaurant reviews. The care taken here is evident. We sanitized all the handles, switches and fixtures when we arrived, but found the cottage clean. Bring your own HE laundry detergent, I missed the memo on that. Kenwood Cottage is really beautiful. Thanks for having us.

Loved the seclusion of this cottage! It was nice to partake in valley experiences and return to the “coolness” of the canyon. All details have been tended to when preparing the cottage for guests-from the well-supplied gourmet kitchen to comfy beds. Loved stargazing from the outdoors hot tub!

The Kenwood Cottage was everything we hope for and then some. So well appointed with everything to provide a wonderful stay. The setting along the creek was beautiful and the house immaculate. We were sad we weren’t staying longer. We will definitely consider renting again.
The home is immaculate, very nicely furnished and equipped with many more accoutrements than expected. The setting is very private and beautiful. The back deck and patio lie directly next to a stream that runs along the back edge of the property. Sitting out back is a wonderful experience.
Very comfortable house tucked away in Adobe Canyon. Well appointed with conveniences of home. The location is well suited for touring Sonoma, Santa Rosa, Sebastapol, and points further north. Setting is lovely with a creek in back and wonderful deck to relax after a day touring wine country. Bodega bay and beaches north are a little more than 90 minutes.

This cottage is fantastic. We spent five days visiting from Canada. The location is perfect - off the main winery area but 15-30 minute drive to most of the wineries you would want to see. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated. All of the amenities are included. Perfect for two couples. Great back deck with a hot tub and a lower stone patio area right next to the creek. Kenwood college was a great way to start a two week vacation driving down the California coast of all the air BNB and VRBO we stayed in over the two weeks Kenwood cottage was the best ! Working with Laura was just fine the cottage was exactly as described there were no complications or bad surprises at all. Would definitely recommend

The Kenwood cottage is so cute and secluded and is the perfect location for wine tasting all over Santa Rosa, Sonoma and Napa. The interior of the home is beautiful and the stream running behind the house with the spacious backyard provides a wonderful getaway. I have stayed at several VRBO's and I must say this one has the best stocked kitchen which is great if you plan to cook your meals. My friends and I went backpacking on the Lost Coast and stayed at the cottage as a vacation from our vacation. We really appreciated the warm hospitality the cottage had to offer after being out in the woods for a few days. I would absolutely recommend this house for anyone looking to stay in a great spot for wine tasting and exploring wine country!
We stayed over Memorial Day weekend (6 days) 2018. This is a beautiful cottage nestled away in a wonderful village. We enjoyed the quiet, the yard and hot tub, and were within walking/biking distance to hiking, wineries, and some nice restaurants. We will definitely be back!

The owner was very responsive when we had a small problem at arrival. The backyard is great, surrounded by trees and a relaxing creek. Only wish we had a couple of lounge chairs and a table. There are four chairs though. Very peaceful place and perfect for the 4 of us. We would love to come again.
Wayne and Laura were very responsive. The space was lovely. I only wish we had a a few more days. We enjoyed the hot tub one evening and the sound of the stream running through the back incredibly relaxing. The kitchen was well stocked even though we didn't take advantage on this visit. We rode the bikes to the short hike to the waterfall. Seeing the damage from the fire was surreal, but the walking bridge had already been replaced and green leaves starting to poke through. Hopefully beautiful Sonoma will continue to recover. Many Many wineries were super close. Great hosts and great space. I highly recommend.
Me and two girlfriends were visiting the area from the east coast for a girls wine tasting weekend. We absolutely loved the Kenwood Cottage and our only regret that weekend was being too busy out and about to be able to just hang out and enjoy the cottage, indoors and out. On our last morning I took a dip in the hot tub and it was wonderful with the refreshing air and sounds of birds and the stream...highly recommend! Tip: be aware service is non-existent, which was nice but also challenging at times.

Kenwood Cottage was the perfect location for our Sonoma wine country getaway. All the amenities are top notch- you can cook to your heart's content if the spirit moves you - the kitchen is well stocked, am coffee and breakfast overlooking the creek is the best way to start the day. The cottage is close to many quaint small towns, loved Glen Ellen and Kenwood- all the restaurant and winery recommendations were spot on and appreciated the 2 for 1 coupons left for guests. I'm also glad we explored a little farther north to Bodega Bay for great hiking and the best chowder on the coast ( Spud Point) and then back through the Russian River valley wineries - Guerneville and Dunston Mills are both delightful. Wayne and Laura were very responsive- had a little trouble connecting with the cable TV and Wayne returned our call immediately- problem was easily resolved. Wish we had more time, I wouldn't look anywhere else, this setting was perfect.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kenwood Cottage. The house was perfect for us, whether we were relaxing on the back deck listening to the stream or enjoying all of the amenities inside during the hottest part of the day. The Wifi was fast, the beds comfortable, and there was a DVR with Netflix, HBO, etc. We brought our bikes, and there are several wineries just a few minutes away by bike--our favorite was Kunde, where several scenes from the movie Bottle Shock were filmed. Also, Sonoma is only 20-30 minutes south by car. Our only issue was the bedrooms getting a bit warm overnight during a heat wave when daytime highs got into the 90s for just a few days during our stay. There's a window AC unit to keep the main living area cool, but the bedrooms can get warm even with the ceiling fans when it gets really hot. Fortunately, the daytime temps during the summer are usually in the 80s, and usually even cooler in the canyon where the cottage is located. Otherwise, the Kenwood Cottage is a wonderful retreat, and we hope to stay there again the next time we are in the area.
The cottage was beyond our expectations. Beautiful property, very comfortable sleeping spaces and excellent amenities. It made for a great home base after a day at the vineyards. We had a great girls weekend at Kenwood Cottage. The garden, creek and jacuzzi were my favorite features. We spent many hours just relaxing in the living room, at the kitchen table and in the jacuzzi. The location was perfect for us. We hiked at Sugarloaf Park in the morning, then went wine tasting at Landmark located down the street, a couple more wineries on the highway 12, and ended up at grocery store buying dinner so we could go back to the cottage and hang out. Would recommend!
We've been to Napa and Sonoma several times and this had to be the most relaxing stay we've had thanks to Kenwood Cottage. We had a great stay at the Kenwood Cottage and highly recommend it if you're looking for a comfortable and quiet space to unwind for a few days. The home is thoughtfully appointed for guests who want to move right in and not have to worry about a thing. The kitchen is nicely stocked with the basics (including spices, and coffee!) and the bathroom and bedrooms are comfortable and well-kept. It's clear that the owners care for the property from the moment you enter the gated driveway and see the beautifully manicured lawn and gardens. The back deck and patio lead to the Adobe Canyon Creek and we enjoyed mornings and evenings listening to the stream and the beautiful flowers and natural surroundings. The house is also conveniently located. It's a short drive or bike to the opening of the park and you can enjoy several hikes around the Bald Mountain area. The owners also provide a set of recommendations for dining and shopping in the area so that you can can act like a local. We used several of their recommendations to good results. The nearby wineries that they recommended had nice tasting rooms (and good wine!) and everything from grocery to gas to dining options was a short drive away. Highly recommend.

Thank you for a wonderful stay at the perfect sonoma cottage! The cottage is secluded, peaceful, and quiet but is very close to some amazing wineries and restaurants. The cottage itself is beautiful, immaculate, and updated. The beds are all comfortable, the couch is perfect for cuddling up for a movie or chatting next to the fire with friends, and the kitchen is open and easy to navigate. The grounds are gorgeous with a blooming and spacious private front yard, large deck looking over a running creek, and hot tub. The house is very well thought out and cared for; it has all those things that add up to an amazing stay, including... Personal recommendations for nearby food and wine, coffee, fluffy pillows and soft quality cotton sheets, and all the utensils and appliances you would need. Immediately this was a place I wanted to return to, it is spacious but warm, personal, and cozy. I came for a girls relaxing weekend, but imagine this would also be a great place for couples, or small families. I would without a doubt recommend staying here, and hope to return myself in the near future!
Upon arriving at Kenwood Cottage, you're met with a quaint cottage with gated entry to the driveway. The grounds were in outstanding condition and well manicured. Heed warning to the guidance that you're given prior to arrival, and back your vehicle into the driveway....the property is located on a bend in the road with limited visibility to oncoming traffic. The location of the property was fantastic...just a 10 minute ride into town, or the various wineries. There is also a small grocery store close buy, which was very convenient. The house itself was very nice...the pictures to an adequate job in displaying what you'll find upon check in. We found the house to be a of a bit cluttered decor, and the bathroom area, specifically the tub and sink, needed some attention, but it served our needs. While not present for check in (which wasn't a problem) the owners were generous enough to leave a bottle of wine for us to kick of our stay in wine country. Thank you! The back yard of the property is the hidden gem. There is a quiet creek that runs behind the property, as well as a large deck, overlooking the creek. There was also a grill and hot tub...unfortunately, we didn't have time to utilize either. With all of the the above, the property is an obvious 4/5 star rating., and a great value There were a couple of unexpected features that we felt had a negative influence on the appeal of the property. 1: There are instructional notes throughout the interior of the home. These notes, pasted onto the walls, included items such as remove shoes prior to entering bedrooms, and if you are a couple, please only select one bedroom to use for your stay, or reminders to lock certain doors throughout the house. While none of these requests was outlandish, the notes always left a feeling that big brother was watching you. 2. Speaking of big brother, we also found it uncomfortable to have cameras on us while we were staying at the property. I understand California law to allow for a reasonable expectation of privacy while residing in a rental property. We felt that the cameras were absolutely an infringement on that right, and also felt like we were being watched at all time....similar to the TV show Big Brother. The property itself, while a bit dated, was amazing, and just what we were looking for. The uncomfortable feeling that we were not alone in the property would steer me away from being able to recommend this property.
We have stayed in quite a few VRBO and other private lodgings over the years. I do believe we have a new favorite. The house was spotless. The kitchen stocked with plenty to use for eating at home. Bring your own food - Safeway is quite close - but spices are plentiful. Gas grill needed tank replaced (under stairs) first attempt to use. Beds and chairs and couches all comfy. Loved the back deck and area to sit by the creek. Tons of instructions for how things work. Thanks for the welcome bottle of Kenwood red. I did not see a wine key strangely enough, but we always travel with one. A quick run up the road from 12. Watch for deer. Just be careful with the driveway - on a curve - back in when coming home if you can.
Thank you for a great stay at such a pretty cottage, with all the amenities you could wish for. Kenwood is in a perfect location to visit the surrounding area, but is also perfect to relax in without going anywhere.
My wife and I spent two nights at this wonderful cottage. Beyond charming, it's as described by Wayne and Laura. The grounds are so well kept and the back of the property with the stream running through is so peaceful. Wish we could have stayed longer! We definately plan to visit again!
It's been a week since I left the Kenwood Cottage and I cannot stop thinking about it. With my wife and our two children (8 and 11), we had such a pleasant time at this well-maintained, meticulously clean cottage in the heart of California wine country. Not only would I highly recommend this place, I will be working every angle to find my way back there. Some highlights: A charming stream running through the backyard, proximity to Sonoma wineries, peaceful quiet, friendly owners.
This place was fantastic. Close by good wineries, right at the foot of the park and a fabulous hike up Bald Mountain, near wonderful restaurants, plus so cozy and quint. They provide all the amenities and it is so clean and well kept. Perfect size hot tub in the back, creek flowing in the back, chairs, lunges, BBQ, wifi, even oils and spices and some essentials in the kitchen. I would highly recommend them!
