Experience the seclusion and serenity of this large house surrounded by nature. It is located in a private location, with a lake, dune, and ocean view (no access directly from house). You don't have to leave the house to enjoy the Oregon Coast, but the dunes and beach access is only a few miles away. (Nearest Sand access is 1 mile to the north, Riley Ranch Coos County Park). The nearest beach is Horsfall, in North Bend, OR, 8 miles to the south. This house is very special and we ask all guests stay with care.
This is a custom house built in the 1980's. Some of the redwood timbers to build the house were from an old mill in Northern California. It has it some quirks, like in the summer there are bats that hang in the exterior siding, we ask you, keep the doors and windows without screens shut at dawn and dusk. The view and house setting makes up for it. To access the house, there is 1/2 mile of gravel road off highway 101. The gravel road may have potholes, so you must drive slow.
Guests will have access to the entire house, except no access to the garages or outbuildings.
Living with wildlife: In the summer months, small bats roost in the cedar siding. The are cool to watch fly around at dawn and dusk while they feed on insects. To keep them outside, we recommend you keep windows and doors closed that don't have screens at night.
We live nearby, so if you need us we are a call away. Otherwise you will have your privacy.
The house is located 1/2 mile off Highway 101 (Hauser, OR) with only 2 other houses nearby. You will have your privacy. The nearest town, North Bend is 8 miles to the south.
